@oldbat I've heard a lot of reports recently about QTM being broken, with no timeline given for when it can be expected to work again, so I think that's probably a dead-end.

@nancledra53 If you look in your client and see "Error: unregistered torrent" or similar in the status column then that torrent has been deleted. That's your notification.

All is not necessarily lost though. If the remaining swarm contains any seeders (or enough leechers with all the individual parts) you still have a chance of completing the download. When a torrent gets deleted from the site it stops anyone new from joining the swarm, but it has no ill effects on an existing swarm. It doesn't happen very often as people usually kill the download as soon as they see it's been deleted, but I've managed to finish a few files this way in the past. My advice is to keep them running in your client for a week or 2 if you can just to give them a chance.

This x1000!!!! So many people create thumbnails that are tiny and/or have stupid orientations. When I've made them in the past I tend to prefer 6 tiles wide by 5 vertically, with an individual tile width of 300px. For a full length film you'll get a frame roughly every 5 minutes that large enough to see properly.

Also, please don't start copying some users here who simply upload a screengrab of their Windows folder. Yeah, it shows you the filenames and a small thumbnail for each one, but more often than not it's of no help whatsoever.

@ianfontinell Sadly on any given day there's a good chance that you will be able to uploads breaking at least 1 or more of those 5 rules, though I admit it's far better now than it was a few years ago. A classic example is when users upload videos but then only add stock pics of the performers rather than screengrabs of the video itself.

I have to admit that when I do find a torrent that breaks one of those rules I'm usually hesitant to report it, usually for one of two reasons. Firstly, I might actually decide to take a chance on downloading it, and don't want to see it taken down when I'm at 40%, but secondly because I could report so many of them that I think the admins would end up getting sick of me (if they're not already!) It's a question of finding the line between getting new content uploaded and being petty. Unless something is blatantly misleading I often err on the side of caution.

@Cryxel In that case I would contact the helpdesk again, leaving out all of the extraneous information and focussing solely on that. The way you've presented the issue on here does make it a little hard to filter out the relevant information.

If you simply say "Before donating my UL was X, but after donating my UL still showed X, not X+Y. Please can you investigate? Thank you" then I think it should be clearer.

@Cryxel Let's break this down very simply, since the key factor here seems to be the amount of upload you were (or weren't) credited with.

Prior to donating you had 86.3GB showing as uploaded. You then donated for another 56GB of credit, and believe your profile should now show 142.3GB of upload. Is this correct?

So what figures are you seeing for your U/D today? I would agree that if your upload figure hasn't increased then it would appear that something has gone wrong.
