This reminds me of the infamous billboard saying, "Illiterate? Write for help." Not unlike my internet provider telling me that if my connection goes down, I can get help on their website. But I digress off-topic.

RE: Trump Called 'Cancel Culture' the Definition of Totalitarianism
President Donald Trump in a recent speech at Mount Rushmore described “cancel culture” as “the very definition of totalitarianism,”
Without taking a position on the political or social issues involved here, one must note that very often when people say " <thing that="" i="" don't="" like="">is the definition of <a broader="" concept="" that="" i="" <em="">really don't like,> they aren't using vocabulary properly. They usually mean that something is the epitome/a paradigm/a really good instantiation/ of the broader concept that they don't like.
For example, a Ferrari is not the definition of a sports car, although most would agree that it's a pretty good example of one The definition of a sports car, per the Cambridge English Dictionary, is "a fast, low car, often for two people only." And while there are other ways to formulate this definition, perhaps referencing cornering ability and braking, "Ferrari" is not a definition. If someone were to say that that a new Ferrari is "the definition of a sports car," they are simply wrong. This is not a matter of opinion about the relative merits of Ferraris vs. Porsches…it's just a fact of the English language.
This is worth noting, because if public figures wish to advance an argument, it's important that they use correct grammar and vocabulary. If they fail at this, their assertions can become meaningless...which is most likely not their intent. It can also suggest that they are intellectually deficient.</a></thing>

RE: Trump’s RNC speech averaged a false or misleading claim every 3 minutes
Let's just end it there. You put nothing into context whatsoever, and you don't put anything into your own words. You just copy and paste, and it's just nonsense. That's why everyone is leaving the Democratic Plantation and Democratic States like NY and CA en mass. It's literally happening en mass and you pretend it isn't.
Let's not leave it quite yet: Since this thread started on a topic of "false or misleading" statements, one should note that people are not "leaving California en mass [sic]." A quick look at https://worldpopulationreview.com/states/california-population (as well as other sites, including census.gov) shows that the population of California continues to increase. If people are leaving en masse, even more are arriving.
This reminds me of a restaurant review some years back that said "that place is so crowded, nobody goes there any more."

RE: Appropriate torrent size
Speaking just for myself, I don't have a preference between one large collection, and a few smaller collections. Users can select which files to download either way.
One thing I would suggest is that you show what the individual files contain: A quick way of doing that is to post a screenshot of a file directory, showing thumbnails from each file (see attachment below).
Thank you for sharing your material.

RE: Grindr fails to remove ethnicity filter after pledge to do so
I don't think there's anything "wrong" with an ethnicity filter, but I find it rather useless:
Ethnicity isn't always one pick out of a multiple-choice list: While some people might have all of their genetic heritage from a specific "tribe," more and more people are a mix. I have a good friend who is half Thai and half German…so what box would he tick? I lived in Cuba for a while, where most people are a varying blend of native American, African, and western European. No single ethnicity category would work for most of them.
Some guys do have ethnic preferences, even for a quick bang. But an ethnicity category filter isn't going to be reliable for them. If a guy has strong preferences, some good photos should do the trick (so to speak).

RE: Keep America Great!
the idiocy of the Trump campaign in not claiming the website for a slogan printed on all of those red caps coming out of China.
Maybe they actually bought the domain, but stiffed the hosting company when it came time to pay for it. That would align with the Trump business model.

RE: Hillary? Shame on you!
Why is she such a big deal in their warped, obsessive minds? Is it just because she's a woman?
No, it's because she runs a cannibalistic pedophile ring from the basement of a Washington pizzeria. Some try to discredit this alternative fact by noting that the pizzeria in question does not have a basement…but that only shows the power of the Deep State to do things beyond our concept of the possible. Hillary and her gang can do this because of their space-alien DNA.

RE: Trump’s RNC speech averaged a false or misleading claim every 3 minutes
With over 20,000 false or misleading statements by Trump since his inauguration, it's possible that fact-checkers might have done some of them wrong. It's equally possible that they have missed some.

RE: Who'd you vote for
Right. So when Kamala hid evidence that would exonerate an innocent man, and when she held prisoners longer than their sentence for cheap slave labor… (without me calling her what she absolutely is...) You don't have an answer to that. Same with Biden and TONS of things. You just don't have a response, with OR without calling them lying pieces of crap. You have no justification even in your own mind for your ridiculous beliefs, so you just think you can get away with ignoring them, because you have no idea what the hell is going on.
My point is that the forum should be a place for rationally discussing issues, not hurling insults. That's childish, and suggests that one cannot make a reasonable argument.
That might not be compelling to you, so I will also respond in your idiom:
You are a f*cking moron. You should stop posting your poison here.

RE: Who'd you vote for
At this point, don't know. May just not vote. Biden sucks ass though. He's just an empty vessel and super corrupt. If I do vote, it definitely won't be for him, or Kamala, the supremely corrupt prosecutor. OMG that woman is so evil. The things she did to innocent people in the judicial system is outrageous. If you vote for them you're a piece of shit. She was busted for hiding evidence that would exonerate an innocent man, she held people longer than their sentences because it provided cheap slave labor in prison to her wealthy lobbyist friends. What a piece of human trash, that cunty witch. LOL Yea, I said it. What she did is so egregious that if you honestly think Trump did something worse, you're just not worth the time to even converse with.
This is the problem!!! This subject has been raised, but liberal NEVER RESPOND. They don't have an answer to what Kamala and Biden did. But we independents and conservatives respond to every single attack. That's because we have the Truth on our side, and these extremists just don't.
Using insults suggests that there's no rational content to the argument.

RE: Anti-vaccine group sues Facebook, claims fact-checking is “censorship”
They refused to serve him a third round and kicked him out because he was wearing a MAGA Dunce Cap. He tried to claim it was an expression of his "spiritual belief".
I'm not sure wearing a political cap is an expression of "spiritual belief," but ordering a third round suggests a belief in spirits (although judging from the photos, he wanted a cheap beer).

RE: Anti-vaccine group sues Facebook, claims fact-checking is “censorship”
We can inform these topics by looking at how airport security works: Screening/inspection/etc. by airport security is not mandatory–people can refuse it. But if someone does, they're not allowed into the gate area.
We can extend that concept to vaccination and mask-wearing: They're not mandatory, but if someone refuses, s/he cannot have contact with other people. That might not be appealing, though, as others won't be able to admire one's high-fashion tinfoil hat.

RE: New user inquiry on seeding and when to delete seeded torrents
Hi! As a very new uploader, I have already uploaded files here. I wanna when to continue seeding and when to stop seeding torrents that have been uploaded already.
Any comments or replies are very much appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi, and welcome to the world of uploading. Other members here appreciate what you're sharing.
The uploading rules say that we should continue seeding a torrent until "three or four" people have downloaded it. Depending on the size of the torrent, your connection speed, and other mysterious factors, that could happen in less than an hour. I consider the following factors when deciding how long to keep seeding:
Is it seeded enough that other people will be able to download it? While the rules say to keep seeding until three or four users have the material, those users could stop seeding, and the torrent would die if I'm not there. I tend to keep seeding for at least a week or so to make sure that somebody's there to seed the material. How many users are leeching the material? If there are still several people downloading through my torrent, I keep the torrent active so they can get the files, and I can get some upload credit. If the number of leechers falls to zero (which happens to almost every torrent after a month or so), and it stays at zero for a long time, then nobody wants the material and there's no need to keep seeding it.
Do I need to free up space on my computer? If I'm running low on space, I might delete a torrent sooner (but only after three or four users have it). If I have plenty of space, it doesn't hurt to keep seeding.
Am I proud of my torrent upload? This is vanity…but if I really like my torrent, perhaps because it's my own rip of a DVD, or because of my carefully chosen screen shots, or because the description I wrote is worthy of a Nobel prize for literature, I will probably keep seeding the torrent longer. This doesn't hurt anyone.Ultimately you will figure out what works for you, but perhaps these things will help you decide. I didn't mean to write a novel, but with cornoavirus quarantine, it's not like I have lots of places to go. Thanks again for your uploads.

RE: Facebook Removes 790 QAnon Groups to Fight Conspiracy Theory
It is refreshing to see Facebook putting principles before profits. Conspiracy theory posts bring a lot of revenue from the advertising for tinfoil hats.

RE: Republican-Led Senate Panel Details Ties Between 2016 Trump Campaign and Russia
As a point of order, treason as a federal offence in the US can be defined in one of two ways:
US Constitution Art. 3, Sect. 3:
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.
United States Code 18 USC 115:2831
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason.
If someone is said to have committed treason, then one of these situations would need to apply. The prevailing interpretation is that "enemy" refers to an entity against which a war is declared. This has not been the case in the US since August 1945.

RE: Republican-Led Senate Panel Details Ties Between 2016 Trump Campaign and Russia
There was no collusion with Trump and Russia. You guys had your chance and for over two years you wasted millions of dollars investigating Trump on information that they now admit was a total lie. Clinesmith is the first domino to fall. He ADMITTED that they lied. Let it go. There's nothing there. The only collusion was Hillary and the DNC paying Russian agents for a fake dossier to interfere in the election. It was the DNC that interfered, and that's the only fact in the case. I don't care if you like Trump or not, the Democrats literally and factually committed TREASON. Sore losers need to talk about their plan rather than just Orange Man Bad all the time. You aren't swaying ANYONE with rehashed false crap.
Productive forum comments stick to issues and facts. References to other people suggest that the only tactic one has is name-calling, and that's rarely persuasive.
As for facts…it is helpful to know the definition of the word "treason" before using it.

RE: Racist, fascist, anti-government terrorist movement spreads from U.S. to Canada
Trudeau is going to have to build a wall to protect Canada's southern border and make the U.S. pay for it!
Snow is a great construction material, and we have lots of it. Also, you have to admit that Mr Trudeau is easier on the eyes than some other world leaders.

RE: Racist, fascist, anti-government terrorist movement spreads from U.S. to Canada
…a mixture of ideologies aligned with white supremacists, neo-Nazis and anarchists. They share the same dislike of government and the police...
It would be tragic if this disease spread from our southern neighbour. There's overlap/underlap with Trump-style neo-fascism: Both promote white supremacy, but while the militia folk are anti-police, Mr Trump styles himself as pro-police…due to his misunderstanding of some who use the phrase "defund the police."
I don't think Mr Trump will be pro-police when they come to arrest him after he leaves office this coming January.

RE: Republican-Led Senate Panel Details Ties Between 2016 Trump Campaign and Russia
Leftist media claiming Russian collusion.
It's important to distinguish between "interference" and "collusion." All of the US intelligence agencies have evidence that Russian entities interfered with the 2016 election in the US. The Mueller investigation, and the cited article, say that there isn't sufficient evidence to bring criminal charges against Mr Trump for actively conspiring with the interfering Russian entities.
Sarah Jeong isn't a racist according to the NYT.
How is that relevant to this topic?
