RE: Snapchat leaks compilations or ''cam'' compilations
@cp2000 Thanks very much for the historical perspective, which I didn't address. "Baiting" wasn't a thing 10+ years ago, and while the system is slow to adapt to the rapid pace of technology, it is indeed getting there.
There is also the ethical side to all this: I think it's rude and inconsiderate to violate the privacy of complete strangers for one's own gratification. If this is something that appeals to people, there's enough fantasy porn out there that simulates this--I'm thinking of sites like sleepingmen.com, czechhunter.com, sneakypeek.com, and others in the past.

RE: Snapchat leaks compilations or ''cam'' compilations
This thread raises a number of legal issues. Here’s my two pence on three topics—admittedly a simplification.
The laws here vary by country and, in the US, by state, but they’re reasonably consistent around the “free world.” If something’s different where you live, feel free to share.
Privacy: It is generally against the law to make a recording (audio, video, and/or still photo) of a person who has a “reasonable expectation of privacy.” That phrase can be subject to interpretation, but some situations are clear: Someone in a locked toilet stall clearly has an expectation of privacy; someone walking down a public sidewalk doesn’t. Laying out on a public nude beach? Probably no expectation of privacy, but IMHO it’s rude to photograph someone there. A hookup you invite into your bedroom also has an expectation of privacy, so keep that hidden video camera off. Note that the privacy rules here don't require that there be nudity or sexual activity: A person in a locked hotel room with the curtains closed has an expectation of privacy even if they are fully clothed while reading newspaper. Violations here are generally misdemeanors, which can be punishable by 6-12 months in prison and or $1000 in fines.
Consent to Distribute: Even if another party knows that you are viewing or downloading a nude or sexual image/video of them, it isn’t legal to further distribute that media to other people unless there is consent from the person(s) being recorded. The law gets quite technical here, but this applies to “bait” material and other private interactions, like Snapchat. (Some jurisdictions include these laws under a heading of “Revenge Porn,” even if there wasn’t a “revenge” motivation. Violations here are also generally misdemeanors.
Under-age porn: Even though the age of consent to sexual relations varies around the world (and from US state to US state), there’s a fairly universal prohibition of media showing nudity or sexual activity of a person under 18. (Definitions of nudity can vary—in some places, showing buttocks are considered nudity, in other places, not. Some jurisdictions consider an obvious erection underneath clothing to be nudity.) Be very, very careful here: While the maxim of the law in most “free world” jurisdictions is that one is innocent of a crime unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, prosecutors, judges, and/or juries often unconsciously shift the burden of proof to the defendant—you prove that the subject was 18+, or we consider you guilty. Violations of under-age porn law is generally a felony, which can involve multiple years in prison, public sex offender registry, etc. Even if you’re attracted to younger guys, use the maxim “if in doubt, throw it out.” The graphic from @cp2000 is a good general guide, but everyone’s different. Consider also that there’s no way to be certain about the age of a toilet stall or “bait” video subject. Most 12 year olds can operate a mobile phone camera. I’ve seen toilet stall spy videos where I suspect that the subject is a minor.
Sorry for being verbose; I dwell in a world where a document called a “brief” can be hundreds of pages long.

RE: all links redirect to urlrw.com
This used to work, but I suspect that the domain urlrw.com was bought by someone with a different business model. There are some other de-referrer sites that could be used here, but many browser security packages prevent moving from one site to another without the user's specific consent.
When want to go to an offsite link, I just copy the link as posted here as text, and then manually enter it into the address bar of my browser. It's a little clumsy, but it avoids these scammy third-party sites and still hides gt.ru as the referring source.

RE: Favourite Movie of all time
Does Empire of the Sun have enough a gay theme that it could be uploaded here? I have a .mp4 copy of it, but I haven't watched it. If it doesn't qualify for Gtor.rent, I can host it on a dropbox site for a while.
My favourite movie: Much less cerebral: Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

RE: I've destroyed my ratio
@tiatbdna4 That sounds like a great idea for new torrents. Sometimes, though, I like to freeleech an old torrent rotting in the system with myself as the only seeder. I did that just this afternoon with an "oldie but goodie" that I though more people would like to have...and about 20 people have downloaded it today. But my ratio on that torrent was about 10, so would a seedbox prevent me from sharing it with new downloaders? I don't need the upload credit, but I'd like to be able to upload it to a few other users before I drop off the system.
I apologise if this is a dumb question, but I don't know much about seed boxes.

@ianfontinell-0 said in I've destroyed my ratio:
you can still contribute to other peers with the pieces you have.
...and this is an excellent way of getting a lot of upload traffic. For example, I downloaded about 1% of a 30 GB torrent a couple of weeks ago, and my ratio on that torrent alone is now over 39. I should probably archive or delete that one so that others can get upload traffic from it.

RE: Pope Francis Opened the Door to the LGBTQ Community, But Only So Much
I think the title of this thread is spot-on: Francis' pastoral style was about opening doors, and allowing fresh air and light to come in. His views on LGBTQ and women's issues were quite progressive, but he was not a Vatican bureaucrat who would write rules and declare teachings in accord with his views. At best, his viiew was "crawl before you walk before you run," which is wise strategy with a large institution.
I'd like to think that his unfortunate comments about seminarians were the product of a bad day. He seems to have had no animosity against LGBT people, shown perhaps most clearly by his visit to the US some years back, where he had a private dinner with a former (male) student of his and the student's husband. This was the only private dinner on that trip, and such dinners are rare on all papal trips.
He was a pastor, not a politician, and only time will tell how much long-term influence he will have on the church. I never met him, but I think he and I would have gotten along quite well.
For full disclosure, I am an active member within the Anglican Communion, whether it be the Anglican Church of Canada, the Church of England, or the Episcopal Church in the US, depending on where I'm working or teaching. That siad, I hold the Roman Catolic Church in high regard, and I share in mourning of Catholics around the world.

RE: upload ratio help
@frostygrin said in upload ratio help:
But there's also the limit for simultaneous "leeching" - and it's a lot more restrictive. Even the best case scenario is 15 torrents at the same time
I don't think this is how it works. Right now, the search page shows that I'm leeching 38 torrents...although they are all torrents where I've chosen to download only some of the files, so the system counts me as still leeching because I haven't downloaded all of the material. I don't know if there's an upper limit on how many torrents can be in "leeching status," but if there is, it's greater than 38.
@frostycab makes a good point about striving for a high ratio for its own sake. I confess that did this for a while, after losing a hard drive of material and wanting to have enough buffer available to re-download material in case that happened again. My ratio has continued to climb since then, not because I want it to, but because I have a lot of material seeding and I leave my torrenting computer on 24/7. I should probably set some limits in my client to prevent too much "ratio overload," in order to allow other users more opportunity to upload.

RE: upload ratio help
I can't address some of the more technical aspects of settings and such, but one technique that works quite well is to find a torrent with many files (freeleech or not) and then just select a few of them for download--perhaps 10% of the total volume). Those will often download quickly, and then as other users are clawing at the system to get the whole content, many will be directed to me for the 10% that I have.. This works best when there are only a few seeders vs. many leechers, such as in a newly uploaded (or newly freeleeched) torrent.
It's not unusual to get, over time, a ratio of 30-50 for such a torrent, which I keep seeding even if I'm not interested in the content. For example, as I type this, there's a newly uploaded torrent called "Tom fucks a nerd," that has only one seeder (likely the uploader) and so far three leechers (likely to be more soon). There are 296 files in this torrent, and if I set my client to get just 30 of them, my ratio on that torrent will be huge within a few days.
The only potential drawback to this approach is that the system will count this torrent against your "maximum number of simultaneous downloads" limit since you haven't downloaded all of the material. If that's an issue in your case, you can delete the torrent from your system after a couple of weeks after bumping up your ratio,

RE: Doctor Who
@bribriny David Tennant was my favourite; Matt Smith comes in second. After that, I think the franchise made a race for bottom. I haven't watched the more recent versions.
There's a touching farewell to the tenth doctor (Tennant) at his regeneration on YouTube at

OK to upload music soundtrack along with a film?
I'd like to upload a "themed film," which I can do either as raw DVD files or ripped to a high-quality .mp4. The musical soundtrack from this film is superb, and I have a separate CD of that music. I think people would enjoy having that, too.
But, uploading rule #7 says that sharing, "Music, Music Videos, Video Games (e.g. PSP/XBOX) and Commercial Applications is prohibited." Is it OK to include the ripped soundtrack music in a folder with the film? The music is already in the film, so it's not really additional content.
Thoughts anyone?

RE: Freeleech request, please
@frostycab Thanks very much. I use uTorrent, which probably has similar functionality if I fiddle with the settings. If you hear a loud explosion in the next few hours, you'll know I did something wrong.

RE: Freeleech request, please
@ianfontinell-0 Thanks very much for the explanation! I had assumed that IP addresses were unique to each subscriber, but I can see some logic to this "party line" approach.
Two questions:
- Sometimes I connect directly to the ISP at one of my homes, and at other times use (Proton) VPN. Is one way more or less likely to use a NAT?
- Is there a way to tell if I'm behind a NAT?
Again, thank you.

RE: Freeleech request, please
@Lumithin My pleasure...and yours, too, I suspect.

RE: Freeleech request, please
Follow-up: I see that the first, second, and last of the torrents listed by the OP have been freeleeched, and that there are now many seeders and many leechers--so the "freeleech to get more seeders and quicker download" approach does indeed work. I learn something new every day.
To further test the theory, I've used seed points to make the following two torrents freeleech, and I've also downloaded the torrent files to my client so I can see their progress:
https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=cd73736afff33242ec6b30a5f5a924a9dd64f7b8ce61669d
https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=e9c1a3348bf127b5ec6b30a5f5a924a91eac9e5064ba6a6e
They both appear to be downloading furiously, at about 2 MB/sec.

@ianfontinell-0 said in Freeleech request, please:
having a torrent become freeleech WILL make it more available....
My logic was that "more available" means "more seeders," and that the best way to get more seeders is to do a re-seed request.
You mentioned an interesting point with
peers cannot always contact one another for several reasons like NAT issues, and if there are only one or two seeders, the chances of your client being able to connect to them is reduced. you can both stay active for days and never connect to each other.
I don't fully understand this, although given that this is the case, more leechers (encouraged by a free-leech) would increase the likelihood that one could connect. I shall have to study "NAT issues" in my copious spare time
