I am lost in admiration for your project. Sadly I fear you won't achieve your goal.

There are just so many people posting torrents using their own pet methods, there is no one 'correct' method.

Many people choose to disguise their posts for their own reasons, I'm not always sure their worries are legitimate but they think so.

I am fortunate that I can check the new torrents regularly so don't get behind much. I generally only search for duplicates when I seed or a particular movie I can find nowhere else. And with the latter I sometimes have to be imaginative in what I search for.

I am not sure there is a solution to the problem you describe, short of having staff deployed full-time checking uploads.

But an interesting post, all the same 

I think you are right too - you have to opt IN to all those that you want to see

The only categories you can turn off are Straight and Bi

You can seed what you have downloaded but you will never show as completed (no category vote there )

But just keep seeding what you have got until you are happy with your ratio. You probably have a point about the pictures. Me, I couldn't be bothered to sort through that many looking for the files I wanted but I suppose we should be grateful he wanted to share anything

Have you thought of using a different torrent client?

I'm really not sure it's necessary.

You choose your client program.
You grab a torrent file.
You open the torrent and save it somewhere.

Repeat as needed…

If you have no problems and are getting a decent speed, sit back. Oh, and leave the torrent seeding if you can, expecially here.

I use uTorrent 3.0 - I stopped at that when they started messing around.

It does what I want, I don't seem to have problems and if it ain't broke…. 

If there are just 3 files you want out of 100s, uncheck everything except the files you want.

In any torrent with multiple files, you only need to download the ones you are interested in. Ignore the rest

It sounds as though you are using your original torrent file, I may be wrong. Or you are not pointing your torrent file to the right place.

You need to download the torrent you have uploaded and use that to open the torrent. When your torrent client asks where to save the file you point it to the exact file that you made the torrent from, not just save it to your usual folder. If you open as usual your torrent client will try to download, not seed.

Have I got this right? You don't want anyone to 'share' your videos. But it's OK for you to download from a P2P site to watch but not share stuff.

You'll have some problem with KickAss Torrents - the original has ceased.

Two good sources for music are usenet and good ol' youtube. Some amazing hard to find music there and there are plenty of download helpers around.

Not positive about private music trackers - they do seem to be elitist, and I'm not talking about the music.

I only use the uploading page. It is pretty easy, following the steps. Just need to remember to download your own torrent to start seeding.

I don't think we were naming and shaming, just commenting.

In leeniedo's case he had been given 92 thumbs down and one person had clicked 89 times. So we just assumed he did the negative clicking. And wondering why someone would bother doing that without explanation.
