I hope your settings are now set to 'not delete' - you then have to manually delete messages which is a pain but at least they are there.
Just a couple more thoughts, not sure if they are even possible.
Contact the Helpdesk to see if it is possible to forward a message.
If he replied to a post in a forum, perhaps another post in that forum might reach him.
But it would be nice to check if someone is here even if they have blocked messages. I fear that battle is lost :cry2:
You seem to have found the box in Settings for the default Send PM.
You will also see when you send or reply a small box saying Save message to Sentbox. You need to check this before you send your message.
I had never seen that "Do you need to find someone?" button before, perhaps I hadn't scrolled down enough.
There did used to be a facility for searching for members by name on your Profile settings page. For some reason the Admins decided this was too radical and it was disabled.
The only ways you can check up on anyone these days is if they post in the forums or they send you a message. Or go through the list of members online - good luck with that one :afr2:
If you think you might want to contact someone again you can scroll through your messages if they are not deleted, add that person to your friends list or make a note of their userid, for instance yours is 640787. You can use the last to send a message to someone who has hidden his details. Method on request

As for RectalTemp's comments on ourGTN, he has his own opinion. But as he only posted 9 messages when he used it over 3 months and hasn't been around since 2014 he is perhaps a little hasty with his condemnation.
It may seem miserly, but that's the rule here. On ourGTN there is NO bonus, but then there is no ratio requirement.
When you join a club you accept the conditions although there is nothing to stop you lobbying for a change.
I note you have downloaded stuff but have no bonus points for category votes. Vote for each complete download and get 2 points a time.

If there are no speed limits at your end like your ISP cutting the speed then your speed will depend on what is happening at the other end. How many people are sharing, what speed they are allowing and there is not much you can do about that.
All ISPs, in my experience, allow much faster download speeds than upload ones.
For example my ISP has increased the download speed to a max of 200Mb\s over the years but the upload speed has remained at 5Mb\s

I get the impression that a lot of the 'odd' titles are a desperate attempt to upload something before the DMCA police arrive and everything gets taken down.
Since we have no way of knowing what is likely to get the chop here, some people have taken to disguising what they are posting. Possibly a self-defeating exercise as a nondescript title, an altered file name and a useless picture won't tempt downloads.
Perhaps we could have a forum thread (perhaps with anonymous messages) where posters could tell everyone they have had a torrent deleted because of a DMCA 'request' - I put that in quotes because I see from TorrentFreak some studios have reported themselves for 'violations', some agents have quoted non-existent URLs.

When I have been presented with the CAPTCHA it usually means that I am still signed-in from a previous session.
I just ignore that log-in screen and carry on as normal. It's worth checking whether the Welcome back line at the top says [logout]
I don't really think they are trying to be clever. I think a lot of the time they don't bother to check. Which is a bit silly as they go to the trouble of getting a post ready only to have it deleted.

I never cook any main meal without having enough for a meal the next day and portions for the freezer, whether it be roast dinners, stews, casseroles or pasta sauces.
I tried to persuade a friend to try this but he would rather take a complete joint out of his freezer, roast and then eat it for days on end.
In my experience everything can be frozen… it's just that some things are crap afterwards
