@kalcifer87 They did it in a backwards way.. by decriminalizing the murder of babies... so.. if a baby is delivered live, and is allowed to die without being cared for, that is no longer a crime. https://lozierinstitute.org/six-states-and-their-radical-approaches-to-abortion-law/

You have been trained well by the @raphjd, grasshopper - you, as he so often does, have quoted a source that DOES NOT backup or confirm your assertions!

Look, I'm no fan of abortion - but it HURTS the cause when you so blatantly LIE about the other side!

In the article above, it DOES highlight SIX US States that broadened abortion rights. What did you expect from their Dem legislatures and Dem Governors? They KNOW that Roe v Wade is gonna DIE soon enough, so they're codifying THEIR positions into THEIR State laws... If WE want to use State Laws to deny abortion "rights" (and I use the term loosely), they certainly they can use State Laws to allow them! (Ever heard the term: double edged sword?)

BUT, none of them - at least not as written about in this article - have de-criminalized killing a baby once it is born. Not caring for a newborn isn't even mentioned in the article - AT ALL - and, in NO US STATE is it legal to kill - through action or inaction - a human being (other than under the orders/sentence of a Judge and approved by the Governor) once it has been born.

Their new laws are egregious and morally repugnant (to me)... but to make claims that are SO VERY EASY to prove untrue, hyperbolic, and inflammatory, you do yourself - and the cause - no favors.

Trying to figure out how to access/search torrents. If press torrents icon it goes back to homepage, with only login/forum/signup buttons. If press search icon it only searches in forums, not torrents. Thanks.

You are in forums now - and be careful, it is NOT always true that a forums login works on the torrents site!

Along the top, there is an icon in the middle (at the right end of the left-side icons) that looks like a down-arrow into a tray... click that. You'll either get a login page or the MAIN page...

If you get the main page, you're logged in... click the button at the top labeled Torrents - it's a drop-down, the top entry of which is the Torrent Search page.

If you get the login, then there is either a problem with your login synch between the 2 sites, or you just don't have an account there... either way, create a help desk item and ask a Moderator to help.

Do users that upload scat porn do it on purpose and upload their scat torrents under fetish and not under scat just to mock those who don't want to see this stuff? Fetish you can't disable, but scat you can.

Whatr's the use of disabling scat category if users still upload it under the wrong tag?
And when you kindly ask them to change the category, either they just ignore you or they reply with a rude comment.

Can't there be something done about it?

Report the offending torrents... the Mods can warn the uploader for not using the right categories.

You might also put in a suggestion to the Help Desk that you also be allowed to filter-out the fetish category - it that was part of your complaint...

@raphjd said in Australia goes full crackhead on Free Speech:

Court judgment on social media posts is a blow to free speech

      https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/court-judgment-on-social-media-posts-is-a-blow-to-free-speech-20210908-p58pya.html

Maybe you didn't read or understand the article above, but this is EXACTLY the double-edged-sword I've been warning you about with your tirades against US Section 230!

This article you quote tells how the Australian Court has found that the Sydney Morning Herald (a newspaper with a Facebook page) CAN be held liable for the postings OTHER PEOPLE make IN REFERENCE TO their stories...

So, the Herald prints an article about a youth in detention (jail) - a fact not in question. Someone ELSE posts a claim (in the comments section... as a "reply" to the story) that this kid is a rapist. The Herald has no control over the replies and cannot self-edit them (that's a Facebook duty), but since it's the Herald's Facebook feed, he (the youth) is suing the Herald for libel. And the Court has said "OK - that's reasonable".

Of course, if the Herald DID have the ability to remove such posts, it would be labeled anti-free-speech and part of a "conspiracy" to protect the young man...

Lunacy... They're damned if they do, and now they're equally damned if they don't... but to PROTECT the Herald from such nonsense, you need something... I don't know, maybe something like the US Section 203!

Just to note: as I predicted - the end result is that Australian outlets are just turning off user comments...

YEAH! That's the BEST way to have free speech! TURN OFF the outlets for public comment!

Next, the plaintiffs will go after Facebook itself! (under the same "logic" used to permit the claim against the paper: "The court found that several news outlets, including the Herald, should be considered the publishers of allegedly defamatory comments added by third parties to Facebook posts..." So, why shouldn't Facebook be considered the publisher, too?

But this is a common thread amongst the new alt-right:

      • all individuals are good
      • all corporations are bad
      • any chance "the people" have to "stick it" to the corporations is good!

If this legal theory prevails, it will change the Internet as we know it... Free platforms like Twitter & Facebook will disappear for lack of funding for the legal protections needed. Pay platforms like the Herald and the NY Times will regain their "stature" as "purveyors of news", but all public comments on them will be "moderated" by their publishers...

This'll be GREAT for alt-right-ers... because they OWN all the biggest media outlets!... Oh, wait... no... LIBERALS own most of the traditional media... my bad...

I clicked on 'completed torrents' but that list only seems to included torrents from 2021 even though I have been seeding ones going back to around 2016. I guess I'll have to go through the torrents in my old client one at time and look up each one on the site, download it, and add it to the new client.

    • Is it just me? WHO pulls out of a fine ass to cum on a dude's face?

I don't get it... SO MUCH porn these days features this "ending"...

2 hot guys fucking - sometimes even flip-flopping - and at the last minute... when the top is about to cum... he pulls out, quickly re-positions himself, and shoots his load on the other guy's face... not even in his mouth, just "across his face"...

Is this some kind of "gay for pay" thing? "I'm not queer if I don't take loads in/on my ass, just on my face"?

I get it - as much as porn is fantasy, the guys still have to do something to actually get-off... and sometimes, the guy you're topping just isn't doing it for you... I completely understand the scenes where they fuck for a while, then you have to cut away and they beat off to get off... shit happens...

But in many (most?) of these scenes, there isn't really a cut-away, it's literally that the top says he's gonna cum, so he pulls out, strokes himself 3-4 times while the bottom quickly re-positions, and he squirts on his face...

This has become SUCH a pet-peeve of mine lately... I have started to skip to the end of the scene to see how they cum... and if this is the ending, I delete the file without ever really watching it!

Anyone else feel the same? Or care to defend the practice?

One last thing: this isn't to be confused with the A2M fetish (Ass to Mouth) - because the bottom doesn't take the load into is mouth, and usually doesn't lick the top's dick after he cums - much less take him into his mouth... this is just pull out of his ass, spin him around, shoot across his face.... and end scene... such a waste! Such a turn-OFF!

I liked the TX School Board who made masks part of the dress code. Appropriate!

It's possible that we don't have a bad cop here. Let's take another look at the video: There's no sourcing for it, no date, no location. There's a queue of people in the background, so I suspect it was probably taken at a voters' polling station...where there's a "neutral zone" of 50 meters or so from poll activities where one cannot campaign or display campaign signage, literature, posters, etc. Given that most people in the queue were wearing masks, this could have been the November 2020 presidential election in the US.

We all know that "Make America Great Again" is a campaign slogan for a specific person and the political party for which he is Dear Leader. Displaying that slogan too close to a voting place would be just as illegal as wearing a shirt that said "Build Back Better," which was a chief slogan for the Dear Leader's opponent.

So, the cop may very well have been doing his job. We don't know enough about the situation to judge. (Of course, "knowing enough"--or even "knowing"--is frowned upon in some political circles.)

That is a perfectly reasonable explanation... but it will be dismissed out-of-hand by resident our Trumpites... there should be exceptions for MAGA, they will argue... because it's PRO-US, not just Trump!

Can any attempt to thwart a Trumpite from showing his/her Trumpiness be TRULY reasonable? LOL

I have to switch torrent clients since I'm having problems. I'm using a very old crappy program called FDM. The problem is I have like 1,500 torrents seeding in it so I have to download all of the .torrent files again to add them to the new client. The FDM program doesn't keep a backup of each torrent like most torrent clients.

I've read online that some torrent sites allow you to download all of the little torrent files from your history on the site at once in a zip file. Is this available here or do I need to search and locate each video and click download manually?

If you look in your profile, under "Details & Stats" you will find a section that says:
      Show seeding torrents
      Show leeching torrents
      Show completed torrents
      Show uploaded torrents

Assuming you have at-least one of each category...
Click on the "Show completed torrents" (and perhaps "Show uploaded torrents") and you will see the names (and links) to all of the desired torrents....

@raphjd said in Ivermectin - the liberal hoax:

Liberal media has been posting lies about Ivermectin.

It's not "fringe" media, but MSM that is doing this. The AP published a version of the lies.

NO, people are not ODing on Ivermectin.

NO, gunshot victims are not dying because hospital ERs are overflowing with Ivermectin patients.

NO, people are not flooding Poison Control with calls about bad reactions from Ivermectin.

Whatever you think about Ivermectin use, you should be angry about MSM reporting fake news and not vetting the sources.

      CNN got it right: here

This story is a MESS from the get go - a mess on the left AND the right! It seems everyone is so eager to throw "the other guy" under-the-bus, they consistently fail to check on the facts before they report.

      FACTS:

      • One OKC hospital had several ivermectin OD patients in their ICU - an ICU that was full (and therefore, turning away patients). Said ICU was not full "of ivermectin OD patients", most of the ICU had COVID-19 patients - but there were some ivermectin OD patients there too...
      • One Dr from that OKC hospital reported as much on social media in an interview for local TV
      • SEVERAL left-wing outlets reposted and made it seem like OKC was stuffing all of their hospitals with ivermectin OD patients (clearly overstating the case)...
      • Rolling Stone (online, not the printed mag) used a headline: "Gunshot Victims Left Waiting as Horse Dewormer Overdoses Overwhelm Oklahoma Hospitals, Doctor Says." which was blatantly untrue... They later retracted it.
      • MSNBC host Rachel Maddow tweeted the OKC local story - itself untrue (and to-date, hasn't yet retracted her reporrting of it!)
      • When someone did a little research, they found the Dr listed online and called one of the hospitals (multiple - which is not uncommon) where he is on staff - and that hospital reported NO ivermectin OD patients in their ICU
      • Right-wingers in the Twitterverse RAN with this one, some calling the Dr a liar (not true - everything HE actually said was true - the TV stations inferences and the people hyperbolizing upon one another were all that was untrue). Some even left negative reviews on this Dr.'s profiles on medical review sites.

Lots (and LOTS) of finger pointing (and shouting FIRE when there's just a match there) to go around on this one!

Mind you, LEFT WING media gets things wrong ALL THE TIME! @raphjd just doesn't post their crap as-if it was true!

Perhaps I'll start to post more "left wing nutjobs got it wrong again" articles... of course, that'll take away from time I currently devote to correcting @raphjd's postings ROFL!

But in this case, here's the "match" that everyone is calling a fire:

      • OKC hospitals are filling up (COVID-19, anyone?) and some of those patients are there because of OD symptoms from the use of ivermectin

All the rest is just people (over)reacting to each other's reactions to that one story... that story wasn't shocking... it's a kind-of "dog bites man" story... no? So how did it get so overblown?

Liberals looking for anything they can to show Conservatives are evil, stupid people. Followed by Conservatives looking for anything they can to show Liberals are evil, stupid people.

Would that we could all just calm down and admit that some liberalism in this world is good, and some conservatism in this world is good. What we need to do constantly is strive to find the right mix and balance of the two...

@lololulu19 said in I actually AGREE with Bette Midler!:

@raphjd There are two states that allow live babies outside of the mother to be deprived of food and die on the table. This is what happens when democrats are in control.

That is a ridiculous claim. NO US STATE allows such things. Once a baby is born, it is - by the laws of EVERY US STATE, an individual person.

By way of an example: here in Fla a few years back, I fostered a young soon-to-be-mother. She turned 18 about a week before her baby was born. By State Law, her medical care from when she was 18 until she gave birth WAS NOT covered under State Medicaid. Once the baby was born, he (the child) INSTANTLY was covered by Medicaid, as was she (because she now qualified as a mother). It got REALLY strange on the bill she showed me (we challenged much of it with the Hospital, and they agreed to waive all of her fees.)

The MOST LIBERAL laws about abortion unsurprisingly come from the NE US: For example, In 2019, New York State passed a law that removed abortion from the state penal code and allowed doctors to perform an abortion after 24 weeks of pregnancy ONLY if the mother's life is at risk or the fetus is not viable.

Most US States have what are called "gestational limits" - a point in the pregnancy after which abortion (except in certain circumstances) becomes illegal. About 22 weeks is the average.

Read more about the ACTUAL state of abortion laws in the US States here

To be clear: I do NOT believe in abortion - but I also don't believe that there should be exceptions for rape, incest, or any other behavior of adults! If you cannot be killed at +20 weeks old because of the sins of your father, you shouldn't be able to be killed at -20 weeks for the same thing! I think abortion as a manner of "birth control" is abhorrent, and that when it is necessary because of dangers to the mother (or because of the non-viability of the fetus) that it is a tragedy. But I also don't think I have the knowledge - nor even the imagination - to know every circumstance...

Boris has announced that Afghani "refugees" will be given Permanent Right to Remain, free university tuition, and several other things.

In England, you have to pay to go to university. Now we are going to let Afghani "refugees" do that for free and on the taxpayer's dime.

The UK, like the rest of the western world, is not vetting these people, so we don't know who the boy rapers are. Not like the UK to care about that, with 50+ years of allowing Pakistanis to rape girls unimpeded.

We don't know how many Taliban snuck in with the "refugees". Nor do we know if any ISIS snuck in.

I agree that "special rights" - like full college tuition - is a bit far (a "lot" far!)... but the idea that these Afghan refugees are un-vetted is US right-wing propaganda that has been debunked by several non-hysterical right-wing media outlets already: here for one

This may or may not apply to refugees going to the UK, but the ones coming to the US are heavily vetted - which is one reason why the LEFT is screaming bloody murder (literally) about how many were left behind and still remain in Afghanistan...

BTW, as a liberal, I know that it has never dawned on you that I quite often copy the article/video title from the source.

I'll pass on the ridiculous label... and yes, you DO often quote your source... but...

Often, your source is a far-right-wing one that uses a "teaser" - from which you typically "launch" your tirade (which this post lacked - no tirade!). But often too (too often), when you actually read the ARTICLE - the WHOLE article - it doesn't actually back up say what the headline led you to believe it was going to say.

Quite simply, you seem to forget that many of these news outlets are (unlike the OLD network news of the past) trying to make a profit ... and profit means convincing people to read... and when there aren't sufficient REAL "horror stories" to do it, they make them up! At least they do in the headlines...

But, as I am want to say from time to time:

      This ain't that

This is a legit story about another Gov't overreach into our as-yet uncodified right to privacy.

We need one! The problem, as I see it, is that religious conservatives see a right to privacy as a danger to their anti-abortion agenda (and rightfully so)...

That said - we're going to NEED a right to privacy... this won't be the END of Gov't intrusion into our privacy... not by a long shot!

To be honest, the foreign press hasn't really looked at this one - it's too new maybe?

But the Australian press is all pretty damning... seems the AU parliament passed a series of bills giving the Federal Gov't there SWEEPING rights to surveil their citizens (all under a guise of "protecting" the populace from "terrorists")

The problem with these kinds of laws is that they get abused. Federal Authorities will use these new powers against "regular citizens", and it's not hard to imagine investigators using these powers for personal gain (is my boy/girl friend cheating?)

So - where @raphjd has a well-earned reputation for yelling FIRE! when there is little more than an LED... in this case, there is indeed smoke and fire there!
