In as much as I am constantly berating @raphjd for posting fake-news (not fake, as-in: unimportant, but fake, as-in: false!), I thought it only fair to point out that Trumpites and Q-Anoners arennot the only ones who use this deplorable "tactic" of "internet mudslinging" these days.
On March 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave a virtual speech to the US Congress, where he requested additional American support in his attempts to defend his country from Russian invasion.
The Liberal media quickly started sending out notices - including edited video - claiming that Marjory Taylor Greene (MTG for short) "refused to applaud" for Zelensky.
This is a classic case of inventing worse behavior because the bad behavior you object to just isn't bad enough (a tactic often used by the Russian misinformation propagandists)....
The TRUTH IS: She applauded, just as (and at the same times as) virtually all of her Congressional compatriots did... Republicans & Democrats alike! Maybe not so enthusiastically, but she can be seen in several news media reports clapping.... at lest 4 times, if Snopes.com is to be believed. (I largely trust them, even if @raphjd does not.)
What has Lib's knickers in a bundle is that MTG has spoken AGAINST further American support of Ukraine. In her words: “If we truly care about suffering and death on our television screens, we cannot fund more of it by sending money and weaponry to fight a war they cannot possibly win … The only effect of more arms and more money from America will be to prolong the war.”

I don't agree with MTG's position - indeed, I feel that the West's appeasement and broadcast fear of escalating the conflict has emboldened Putin - a man no less despotic and World-domination-hungry than Hitler himself - into being far more aggressive and destructive (to civilian populations) than he was originally planning. IMHO, we can stop him here, or we can fight a much broader battle later. That said, there is logic in her stance. Pessimistic & myopic as it may be, it's a legitimate "America First" argument...
But this isn't about my views...
MTG and I disagree... about quite a bit, given that we're both Republicans, but on the whole there is more that we agree on than what we do not. She's not a moral pillar of the Republican Party, but she is a Republican, and a Patriot (albeit an extremist one).... and she doesn't deserve to be lied about in the MSM (though many of them have since retracted some of their reporting).
Just as @raphjd and the Russians shouldn't just "make shit up" to make Biden look bad (because, especially so in his case, there is so much REAL shit to throw!), the Left shouldn't be making shit up about MTG... attack her if you will - she's a favorite target - but attack her for things she HAS said and done, not for made-up shit...
