@raphjd Kyle Rittenhouse killed two people and wounded another. That is a fact, that even his defender didn't say that he didn't. The question was, if it was murder or self defense.

What? are you saying he murdered the survivor?
(Just pulling a @raphjd on you there!)

Can we get back to the original post? You posted a doctored photo in support of your "everyone else is as racist - or more so - than me" theory... and got called out on it.

I think if I were you, I'd just delete the whole conversation here... call it a mea culpa, and move on... you have the power LOL

    • Trans serial killer strikes again in NYC

The dismembered body of a woman (cis-female) was found in Brooklyn in early March... Cops knew where to look for the killer, and forensic science confirmed it: 83 y/o Harvey Marcelin, a trans-woman and convicted murder.

Marcelin had 2 prior murder convictions (2 other cis-women), for whose killings she had already served time, and was on "lifetime parole" for the other killings.

For the record, 3 similar killings makes Marcelin a "serial killer" (a definition, not just my thinking)...

As I always say: cite a LOCAL SOURCE!

    • Black Florida man given house arrest after killing white man who used n-word

I don't know whether @raphjd would consider either act a "hate crime" or "being racist", but somehow this shit always happens in my back-yard! (I live in Central Florida, USA).

      So here's the gist:

      • 77 y/o Vonelle Cook, white, and a frequent customer of a Tampa, FL Dunkin (Donuts) store, drives up & tries to order - but employees cannot understand him.
      • Instead of doing anything rational, Cook continues to shout his order, becoming increasingly abusive, at the drive-thru. Eventually, a Dunkin employee (unnamed) asks him to leave.
      • Rather than leave, the old man parks and comes into the store - NOT to place his order and leave, but to further abuse and berate the staff verbally.
      • Staff and other customers ask (even implore) Cook to leave, until 27 y/o Corey Pujols, a black employee, came out into the store to attempt to get Cook to leave. Pujols also asks another employee to call Police.
      • Rather than leave, the elderly Cook calls Pujols the n-word (and not in a friendly way), and turns his verbal abuse full force onto Pujols.
      • Pujols warned Cook against using the n-word, but Cook repeated it - at which point, Pujols punched him in the mouth.
      • Cook fell backwards, hit his head, and died 3-days later.

In an odd (for Florida) twist, the black Pujols was offered a plea deal: 2-years house arrest, 3 years probation afterwards, 2,000 hours of community service, and he must take an anger management class. [The State of Florida has a long and colorful history of race-based criminal justice. A black man killing a white man - regardless of circumstances - is almost always a murder charge and 20+ years in prison here! It's also the underlying cause (triggering event) for our oft-abused "stand your ground" laws].

In an ironic twist, it turns out Cook was a registered sex offender - he liked to lure young men (and boys - which is what got him into trouble in 2006) to his home, ply them candy & video games, sexually molest them - and video tape the whole thing! (Who knows, maybe some of his vids are on here somewhere?)

Anyway - as I've always suggested: get the facts from LOCAL sources, not the national media: Here is the story from the local newspaper.

      @bi4smooth

Kyle didn't kill 3 people, so you got that wrong too. You were trying to make it racist by claiming that he killed blacks. You got sucked into the DNC narrative of "white supremacy".

Fauci, Biden, the CDC, the Mayo Clinic, and many others said that if you get the vaccine, you will not get or spread covid. That is the actual wording. Leave it to you to make up your own meaning to what was actually said.

I knew it was a lie from the start because that's not how vaccines work, but your fellow liberals got butt hurt and said it would because St Fauci, et al said it would.

You really do have selective memory don't you! We weren't discussing "killing black men" we were discussing "shooting victims" - the fact that one survived didn't change the fact that he (too) was a victim...

Yeah! That's the ticket! You KNEW all along what they REALLY meant, but it was the LIBERALS who got it wrong.

The fact is, a LOT of Liberal politicians got the "science" wrong - and some of them DID claim that the vaccines could/would do things no other vaccine could/would do... but not the scientists... they never claimed the vaccines were 100% effective, they never claimed "if you get the vaccine, you won't get the virus" - indeed, they didn't even claim "if you get the vaccine, you won't get sick"!! As with most science, they talked in percentages and likelihoods... not absolutes.

But at the time, the politician we were all listening to was Trump, not Pelosi or Schumer or Biden....

@hubrys said in Clinton-Backed Haiti Pastor Indicted on Child Sex Charges.:

I don't understand what the point of this post is supposed to be. Are you trying to allege that the Clintons knew Corrigan Clay was a child molester when they started working with his ex-wife's charitable organizations? What's your evidence for that?

If that's not your point, then how does this man being a child molester in any way tarnish the charitable good that the Clinton Foundation attempted to do here?

Are you just taking joy in the fact that a minor was physically, sexually, and emotionally damaged because it might, in your twisted mind, harm the Clintons? Geez, you mean your hatred of the Clinton's is greater than your empathy for children? Shame on you!

No, he's taking joy in the fact that the sicko child molester was - in any way or at any time - associated with the Clinton's.

Guilt by association - a common Trumpite tactic...

It's your buddies in the DNC that want us to pay for people to study this shit.

Why? What political gain is there to studying the differences between genders?

      YOU are politicizing something apolitical...

Why are you on the side of the "Big Gov't" here?
What was wrong with allowing the University System to decide what topics were worth academic study, instead of politicians?

      Just so we're clear:

      • When you're in FAVOR of something, it's OK for the Gov't to force everyone to that belief
      • When you're AGAINST something, it's autocratic (if not fascist!) for the Gov't to force everyone to that belief

That makes perfect sense - IF, as you've demonstrated before, ALL of your morals are situational and politically centered...

Those are the places, that I know of, that claimed Kylke Rittenhouse killed 3 black men, even after the trial. Maybe you got your news from some "news" outlet I never heard of.

You also REFUSED to read the actual arrest affidavit that I linked to but claimed I was lying.

Likewise, you did the same with other links only to claim I was lying.

You can't even read the exact words written on a website without claiming it says the opposite of what is actually written on the page; ie Mayo Clinic.

      you shit-for-brains moron

      • I've told you a dozen times that when we had that conversation, I was focused on the number 3, not the race - maybe because I don't look for racism in every nook and cranny.
      • I've equally as many times explained that when the CDC and hospitals (Mayo clinic and others) reported that the vaccines would prevent you from getting CIVID-19, they meant 2 things - that any RATIONAL person would understand (which, admittedly precludes @raphjd):
FIRST, they meant you in the ploural - you was referencing the population, not the individual
SECOND, they meant you wouldn't get SICK from COVID-19, not that there would be a magical barrier that would prevent the virus from entering your body.

      From Andy Ngo;

Portland antifa riot bomber sentenced to 90 days in halfway house

Gabriel Agard-Berryhill, the convicted rioter who threw a bomb at the Portland federal courthouse besieged by antifa in July 2020, has been sentenced to only 90 days in a halfway house and 2-years probation. When he was originally released bail-free soon after arrest, he violated those release conditions by returning to a riot.

I previously interviewed his grandmother in an exclusive report for the New York Post. She was the one who accidentally outed her grandson through a review she posted online for the protective vest she bought him. Gabriel had a tragic and dysfunctional upbringing. He said in court that he was handed the explosive by an unknown person. I witnessed myself at riots in Portland how antifa members would hand out explosives and weapons to random people. The goal was for these random protesters to take the fall if there was ever any prosecution.

      Read: https://nypost.com/2020/08/01/trump-loving-grandma-outs-her-own-grandson-as-portland-bomber/

      ++++

You guys might remember that this guy was outed by his grandma when she reviewed the fake bulletproof vest she bought him so he could go LARPing.

Have you seen the ugly old men who fuck those boys in the halfway house? 90-days of having to fuck them is cruel and unusual punishment! LOL

You're always smarter than the educated people, aren't you? In this case, you (and in this case, I mean Andy Ngo) - by virtue of your Russian News Media Feeds - know more about this case than the judge who sat through the trial!

I'm defending academia... yes, there are bullshit courses, and no, some of what they "research" in "gender studies" likely isn't worth "researching" - but if you don't look, you don't find! (But the corollary is NOT true: if you don't look, it doesn't mean it isn't there).

Of course, you see ALL things with a "is it Liberal or Conservative?" overriding label requirement...

@lololulu19 said in Black middle school students are charged with a hate crime for 'beating up white students in revenge for slavery':

oh.. their punishment will be a 30 minute detention, and be hailed as heroes.

      Maybe in your twisted world...

As I've suggested you should do in these cases, look for the LOCAL COVERAGE

      Per local channel 10: (https://www.local10.com/news/local/2022/03/11/bullying-over-race-at-coconut-creek-middle-school-gets-5-arrested-police-say/)

      • The attack happened in a Florida Rec Center - an after school program near their Middle School (not in the school)
      • 2 of the 5 children who were arrested were actually white
      • the attack was clearly and obviously racially motivated, but contrary to some reports, there was no specific mention of "slavery" or "1700" - instead, it was shouted "this is opposite day" and "you're white" and "brown power"
      • all 5 children are between the ages of 11 and 15 (15 would be rather old for a Middle School in Florida - but only by about a year or two)
      • all 5 do attend a nearby Middle School - and parents from both sets (victims and perpetrators in this instance) report that bullying is common in the school, and that the school does little to nothing to stop it.
      • Contrary to other reports, all 5 were charged with misdemeanors (common for "scuffles" between children), but the local DA is reviewing the case - there is a potential that they could still be labeled "hate crimes", which would make the charges felonies. In Fla, this is the normal course of action - arresting officers do not make the decision on whether to charge as a "hate crime".
      • The whole event lasted only a few seconds & no one was seriously injured (at least not physically).
      • The 5 children charged have been prohibited from returning to school pending a separate school investigation.

BTW: At least as-of today, the video of the reporter (who interviewed 1 parent of an attacker and 1 parent of a victim) is followed online by a story about a dude who whipped out his junk in a Starbucks in Miami and started following these girls around....literally beating off while walking behind them! The girls took videos while the store called 9-1-1...

Florida Man is alive and well! I live in one CRAZY-ASS State! (People used to think if CA as the "land of fruits and nuts" - we've got more nuts in FL, I believe!)

Does any of that excuse his hard-headed refusal to ever admit to being wrong? Or even "misinterpreted"? Of course not! But as I do in other areas of this Politics section: let's be fair and avoid unnecessary hyperbole.

We can disagree without insisting the "other guy" is stupid or just-plain-evil! (even if one, or both, are actually true LOL)

I agree with your post. However, I would like to direct your quote back at you and even all of us really who are tribal when it comes to politics for the most part. You two, imo, are both ends of a spectrum

LOL - I'm actually a conservative! I just don't believe in the use of hyperbole and made-up facts to support a position!

In this case, I think it's absurd to compare Trudeau - a Liberal that I disagree with on many fronts - to Putin.

The reason @raphjd and I "argue" so much on here is that he's spouting Q-Anon type, ultra-right-wing propaganda - filled with hyperbole, intentional misinformation, and some outright lies... most of which echo the stories you see in the Russian misinformation sites and sources.

@Raphjd (and apparently, at least to some extent) conflate a refusal to acquiesce to lies and exaggerations with supporting those he attacks. That's just not the case!

While not exactly the same, it's along the same lines as Voltaire's famous quote: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it". Except, in this case I disagree with Liberal politicians, such as Trudau, but I won't stand by and let others (from my own party) attack him with lies, exaggerations, and fabriactions... there is plenty to post about (negatively) Trudeau - and he was, indeed, rather heavy-handed in his COVID-19 response... but that doesn't make him comparable to Putin (or Hitler).

Mind you, when Trump was in power and a few of the people on here routinely bashed him with false claims of sex-tapes, hush money, and atheism - I defended him! I was no fan of Trump's but Liberals didn't need to stoop to lies to argue against him! (Trump insisted on being "on the News" in every daily cycle - and sometimes did crazy things to ensure that happened... so there was plenty of REAL fodder available - no need to make stuff up!)

    • RE: 0kb Seeding Speed after Download Completed

@matrixtheblo said in 0kb Seeding Speed after Download Completed:

I am having the same issues. My Torrents has an upload speed while I download but immediately becomes 0kb once completed. I tried stopping them and restarting, recheck it and even using other clients, like uTorrent and my upload speed is always 0kb. Even though there are some upload speed (~30kb/s) while I download a file, my ratio is still 0.000. And now with my downloads completed it's not uploading anymore.

Any ideas as to why it only uploads while it is downloading?

When you download a torrent, your computer reaches out to other (seeder) computers, establishes a connection with some (but not usually all) of them, and you download different parts of your torrent from different places - each at different speeds - which are then added together to give you your "download speed" (and so long as there are seeders, and you're a leecher, this will nearly always be a number > 0).

Once you complete a download, you start being a seeder. You have no upload speeds until someone (maybe several people) connects and actually starts leeching the file - FROM YOU.

At any given time, I am seeding about 1000 torrents on multiple trackers (a few dozen on this tracker). At that same moment in time, typically only about a half-dozen are "active" - and even then, the speeds can be wildly different: one connection may be in the tens of KB/s, while other torrents the connection is in the tens of MB/s (I seed from a cloud-based system with measured speeds in excess of 10GB/s when not throttled)

My point is this: as a seeder, your upload speeds will appear only when a leecher is actually getting file contents from you... which will NOT be all the time, and may vary based on the capabilities of the leecher (in addition to your own limitations).

@bi4smooth said in Infatuated with a straight/bi guy. Mixed signals. What to do?:

You're thinking with your logical mind and the original poster is clearly thinking with his heart.

That is precisely why we are giving the advice that we are. The signs are all there, the red flags clear and unmistakable. It is because the the original poster is thinking with his heart that he is not able to step back and see those signs. And because he is thinking with his heart, the potential for damage is significantly higher.

The person he is seeing has already clearly demonstrated that he is not worthy of trust. Hence, our advice to cut his losses, move on, and look for someone better.

As a disinterested, outside party this is all clear to you. But, I submit that you are not able to "put yourself in his shoes"... you make it sound like an "easy, logical decision"

My point is that, looking at the way the original post was written, @Willelmus is (well, let's hope was) at one of those chaotic points in his life - where his head is saying one thing (like: RUN AWAY!!!) but his heart is saying another (like: STAY!! Make it work! He's worth it!!!)

If @Willelmus could think in the detached, logical sense you propose, he wouldn't have written the post to begin with! IMHO, he's conflicted... and if he chooses "badly" he may regret it for a long time.

      Just playing Devil's Advocate here:

      • What if he forces the guy to admit he's queer and into him, he accepts all of this, and they live happily ever after? (likelihood? less than 1% IMHO, but possible!)
      • What if he walks away and 2 years later he's invited to they guy's gay wedding - because the NEXT guy convinced him he really was queer - and he missed out? (likelihood? also less than 1% IMHO, but also possible!)
      • <Insert 100 other possible outcomes>

When your brain and your heart want different things, these kinds of "what if's" go back and forth in your head... you imagine the best - and the worst - of each possible outcome... and the result is often "frozen" rumination...

I tried to use some of my own experiences to illustrate that neither "side" (heart or head) is going to always be right! And neither is going to always be wrong. But I also acknowledge that it's an emotionally painful place to be... and it is certainly not "cut and dried"!
