btw. what this has to do with "deleting files for upload"? you didn't upload any torrent yet. all torrents you have are just the downloaded ones.

if the problem is "so obvious", then we all would have to have the same problem. it's "marvellous" that only some (very few, actually) users have this problem. i will not repeat all the technical details which already have been repeated hundred times, still the same ones, only because some users are lazy to read and learn.
you say it's a scam and we "are pushed to donate"? then how can you explain that most of users have never donated to the site, and still have no problems with ratio, but you? i haven't donated as well, and yet i've had no problem with ratio at all.
today again, i've tested this (only because of you) with 3 different clients, and all reported the uploaded amount correctly. you say "no problem with connection" ~ i'm not refering to your internet devices, but the protocol filters on the way. it does have a big impact on this. this tracker uses TCP acknowledgments for ratio reporting, in other words: your client should try to announce as many times as finally successful. UDP trackers have bigger problems with this, for the sake of connectionless UDP nature.
at last: for the correct measuring, check the torrent counter in your client (not the global one !!) and the session counter on the site (next to torrents). if you refer to the global amount transfered via your client, and not added to your account, this is the real scam. a torrent user should know already that every tracker accepts solely the traffic generated for its own torrents only. i'm afraid that you still didn't get the clue what private trackers are …
we have tested this so many times that it's impossible being wrong. the only wrong thing can be your client or something that has an impact on your connection.
second: where did you see this measure? it has been told many times that counters, which you see, are session-based, not "in total". once the connection gets interrupted for 60 minutes, or your client sends stop-signal to the tracker, these counters get reset to 0.00 each time. but the amount collected on them already has been added to your account balance - those numbers are "in total".
you should try to take port forwarding test, if all incoming ports are re-mapped correctly. if so, then check if your torrents are not over-seeded (= much more seeders than leechers).

It would be nice if we could extend the freeleech duration of a torrent without having to wait for the freeleech status to expire.
this is a known issue, already on Tom's to-do list. meanwhile you can set your torrent client to stop before the freeleech expires, and continue the next day when you have a time to.

when i told that your selection of torrents was not good for ratio, where there can you see something personal? i'm not talking about your sexual preferences ~ and honestly, we staff really don't care about this ~ i meant your complaint. if you download torrents which have "high health", you can't expect ratio growing soon, this is "a long distance run". "high health" is good for fast downloads, but not for the ratio gain. this is the main difference between public and private trackers, which is widely misunderstood by many users. in simple words: you need such torrents where you are the only one, or at least one of a few seeders, and with many new leechers connected. all our manuals explain this, we repeat the very same facts in almost every help request. i wonder why we ever have a forum when users don't even bother to read?

can you show me a »word« which is "rude"? 'cause i can't see any. don't try to see things that don't exist just to conform your bad moods. we are moderators, not psychologists.
as for the open ports: we can't cover all manuals how to set up your internet connection, as there are too many different devices around. every connection device, yours included, has its own manual how to set port forwarding (aka "open ports"). but this is just one part of the problem. another thing that has to be established first, is if your ISP's service contract contains the "public IP address". without this, no setting can help you open the ports (as there is one-way only mode, and you need both directions).
as for VPN: if g-t.net's service isn't blocked exclusively for their tracker, you can use it here too, no problem. i don't know their conditions, since i don't need this type of service for myself.
… VPN-Connections don't add an extra amount ( which they produce because of client-server-communications ) to your bittorrent client, which you used to download stuff with.

we have plenty of users who never donated a cent to the site, and still can use it freely. it's all about if you ever understand how torrents work. once you do, you should admit that the selection of your torrents is not suitable for ratio growing (i can see it from the list in your profile history).
another thing: this tracker measures the data that are dedicated for »our« members only, not how much you uploaded to all places. yet one more: VPN traffic always produces some overhead (because of packing real packets). at the last but not least: it's needed to check if your client reports the data correctly. after each stop the collected ratio is added to your account balance, and the on-line counter gets reset.
there was a technical issue with the tracker, since 3 am cet, but it has been fixed already at cca. 18 o'clock gmt/cet. it should be working by now for all users.
if you still encounter problems, this may be related to your ISP's DNS cache, thus flushing your personal DNS can't help, as it receives DNS from your ISP.
you can test it so that you try to see what IP address you see when addressing the tracker …
but the "over-ruling" was just the intention. it wasn't a "mistake" or sort of that. we just didn't expect that users would abuse the system so widely.
it was meant as a help just for low-ratio users to get some torrents and seed. nobody ordered that only fresh torrents have to can be free-leeched, this was a logical mistake of those who made these torrents 'FL'.
as for announcements, yes, you are right. but if you can imagine the admins' frustration from users' misbehavior, you can understand the "distant approach".

it seem that the tracker needs a restart again, something went wrong at around 3 AM GMT/CET and still is in course …
i think, his intention was to point out the fact that users were used to make torrents freeleech and download them. in this case there is no accuse against them, since they offered their bonus points in exchange to leeching the torrents. the user wants to say that now, after the change, even if such a user offers his bonus points, he makes the freeleech for others, but he can't download it for himself. good point, i will ask admins if this can get fixed …
Hi, so i downloaded a few files and unfortuantly they got deleted, but i would like to get them back, would me re-downloading them effect the download ratio?
undelete / restore is impossible to use?
normally they shouldn't get any system warning about "duplicate accounts", just a red symbol will show up …
many clients allow manual announce. normally it's not needed to do it manually, unless you want to test if the function works properly.
also, you can use the site-search to find old torrents with no traffic. if you have the corresponding files, we can promote the old torrent and you may be the only seeder for all connected peers …
as for clients, so far, Vuze has the best sharing options & settings. alas, other clients are designed just to download their stuff asap, without fair-share options ...
i think, we could have some "karma" system which would be automatic, 'cause, as we know, users don't care to vote for anything
