RE: Proxy Servers
hello. yes, technically you got the point about proxies. no worries, you may use them for anonymization of your transfers. however, there may occure some transfer problems because of the sake of BT protocol which is designed to accept only one connection at a time from the same IP address. nonetheless, some clients have this option variable (like uTorrent) and you can enable or disable the allowance of multiple connections from the same IP address but also you have to be accepted by the other side. uTorrent in default is set to reject multiple connections. this shouldn't cause a big harm to a swarm, still in the theoretical model of all peers with the same IP address this would cause freezing of all transfers.

RE: Categories of uploads
fetish is very general, but you can use the same "trick" which i'm using myself: add these tags to the title starred, like:
main category: fetish / tags: socksunderwear*
with this it's always possible to "track" these videos, currently i'm using this for bareback porn, it works, no worries

RE: Gay Joke of the DAY 6/04/2009 ~ GAY TRANSLATIONS
lol, this is true, so much true >:D .. i've found myself in some of those "translations", too .. alas, i don't have my own as i'm used to say things very str8forward, however, i definitely 'like' these social lies, they are so amusing to decipher once you have a feeling of them >:D

RE: Discrete names for torrents
ISP's in Canada have started to monitor torrent traffic in every way possible, look at Bell Canada / Sympatico, they track them, as well as throttle them.
true, likely they are obliged (?) to do so because of Canadian laws, just like US laws (the dedicated servers for monitoring are called "carnivores"). however, they don't monitor each and every info, just some illegal content like child porn, drugs, etc…
for the second case, alas, even the protocol encryption might not help. some modern traffic management systems (very expensive devices) are capable to throttle any sort of "not desired" traffic. in addition, the port number of the tracker has nothing to do with the transfers alone, it's only used to communicate with our clients. influenced port numbers are the ones set up by peers in a swarm, however, port numbers are already hardly ever used for traffic detection; it used to be the cheapest method in the past, very inaccurate though and easily spoofable.

RE: Discrete names for torrents
exactly as you say, Uwe. there is no need for worries, filenames are not being transferred. you can be spotted only in the case that a studio spy is actively connected to a swarm and you are actively leeching from him. ISPs don't inspect their customers traffic, they only receive studio appeals with your IP address and afterwards ISPs contact you to remove the content to comply with rights.

RE: Uploading with uTorrent: Questions and Answers
almost correct .. in simple words, a swarm is the group of peers (users) connected to the same torrent at the same time.
numbers/counts which you can see in your client may differ from those shown by the tracker, this is OK, because your client asks for tracker updates only once in 30 minutes, while the client itself is showing actual counts 'on the fly'.
in case of seeding you will always see {0} count of seeders connected, because you are one of them, hence there's no reason to be connected to them.

RE: Questionable Content Poll{Please Vote}
Help keep our community safe.
and i would add: not only safe but also saNe .. sorry guys, but it's really not "healthy" to be attracted with kiddie porn. this has much more to do with your psychics than with your sexual preference. think of this: the kids do it for money, but they are not fully aware how deep this can damage them, sometimes even for all their life being. then no wonder that we have streets full of young whores, with so "noble" name "escort"

RE: Questionable Content Poll{Please Vote}
you can be sure that we don't ban users for questionable content. we only "silently" remove it and the uploader is informed about not to do it next time.

RE: Not Seeding Approved Torrents (to Completition)
to add a few more words… if you can't seed full-time to completion for whatever reason (which is understandable), please, make a comment below your torrent file so that we (staff) and users are aware of why you are not connected and so that we can be sure that your torrent will be finished for sure. more over, it indeed makes no good if you only wait for approval and in a moment go offline. if you are about to go offline for a longer time, just stop your new torrent, so that it won't get approved and seed it when you really have time to seed.
among possible reasons belong also ISP deliberate disconnections / blockade, some of them really do it to preserve their bandwidth at certain times. if you notice this to be your case, please, make a comment about this fact in your profile as well. thanks for comprehension.

RE: Growing Library Size
no, it's not necessary to keep them on disk. i've many of them burned on CD/DVDs and only add them if someone's asking for reseed and there are no good seeders present. how to decide if to removed them from disk or not, there is no real schedule, but you can see the torrent statistics if there is a chance to have them being seeded or better move them.

RE: Why do users try and seed so many torrents that they are useless?
please, see the answer of ziamond. what he does, is exactly what all users should do. keeping torrents offline will actually not help to rectify this situation. i'm not sure if also Vuze but uTorrent is capable of such settings that only a few active transfers are allowed (due to capacity of your uplink) and the rest is still "active" (= online) but as soon as someone would try to leech such a torrent, it will be stopped and put in a queue. alas, this is how BT clients work. i think, we could suggest to implement this behavior to uTorrent programmers, it's a good idea, thanks.
as for the reseed button, we already have such a suggestion given in our internal forum, to recode the reseed button behavior due to different conditions, in concrete due to amount of traffic in a certain time frame, that would be surely more useful. sometimes even 10 seeders present will not help, if they don't set their clients properly as should be.

RE: Why do users try and seed so many torrents that they are useless?
alas, you are right. this situation could be easily helped if our users bothered to read their BT clients manuals. if you (= all) properly set your queue settings, this situation would be much easier. another problem related to this has the technical background: "inactive scrape" support is disabled that makes BT clients start all torrents in a row regardless their usefulness, and which in combination with inproper minimal speed per slot and queue settings results in poor transfer speeds in general. this problem was already discussed on the forum and hopefully will be solved soon.

RE: DEAD torrents - uploading NEW ones - DUPES conflict
could you send the exact link to this torrent, please?

RE: DEAD torrents - uploading NEW ones - DUPES conflict
there are no strict rules regarding this issue. as a rule of thumb, "dead torrents" should be really dead. momentally abandoned torrents are not "dead" in fact, though the system calls them "inactive", which is better. and there is another group of torrents, "half-dead" - usually with not complete seeding. the snatched log should tell you if the torrent can be considered as "dead". whether you are allowed to post a new torrent, which is binary the same with the original, am not sure now, but most likely not. you should contact someone from the Staff to remove the old dead torrent first. if the torrent has attached peers with unfinished leeching, it needs to be refreshed but surely not deleted or reissued.

RE: Bitcomet vs utorrent vs azures
hello all, a few technical precisings:
@ contra966: you should never have "[desc=RHP]resources hogging problems[/desc]" with uTorrent/BitTorrent 6.0.x+ versions running along. as already raphjd mentioned, both are the same core. in addition, both have the ability to run in multiple instances (for special purposes) and i'm not encountering any RHP (run on XP SP3 with no protecting software). if you do have some, it's for sure related to the combination of various services running concurrently, perhaps also with Vista compatibility problems (there are still some issues not fixed yet). in addition, you should never run so many sharing programs concurrently unless you have a really fast uplink
@ raphjd: when running more instances concurrently, there is no "slot competition" problem because both programs (or the same one running multiple times) uses their own dedicated RAM blocks so that they behave as standalone applications and if properly set, they even don't interfere with each other's listening ports. (if not properly set, only one of them can use the dedicated port range and the other one(s) turn(s) to the "not connectable" state, thus their transfer speeds may suffer)
@ Uwe: no need to worry about the "DNA add-on", this is the official BT plugin, no crap. it has its planned purpose (widely explained on BT site pages) but currently not widely implemented. if you find it disturbing, it's easily removable (Uninstall XP section) or you can configure it to be stopped until manually started, since it behaves as an XP service and has its graphical user interface under "Control Panels"

RE: Torrent 'Hits'
a bit confusing but logical .. hits = when you click the download button, snatched = when you successfully complete your download, view = simply a view

RE: How to do bareback?
from the medical point of view, each such an intercourse accelerates spreading the virus. there are no possible chemical means which could be used to protect them more than the pure physical barrier - condom. before taking HIV+ shots they have to agree with this freely and as i know some of them, they don't care too much. some other studios, the "better ones", strictly reject HIV+ guys from shooting completely.
