i admit, the snatch listing of grandtotal is sort of misleading in this place. right, there is no database field for storing per-torrent totals yet. however, your concerns about what problems it would cause, are out of concept    the only problem that comes to my mind, is that this change might cause a great slowdown for the site, as it would require too many database writes {for each user, for each torrent}. i'm not sure if the current hardware is capable of it, as we can see great slowdowns during peek hours.

to correct some technical details: no, STOP does NOT erase your collected ratio. there is no need to keep your torrent not restarted until completion, as each stop automatically writes/adds collected ratio to your grandtotal. only the session counters get reset to 0.00. hence we strongly encourage users to close/stop their torrents before computer resets.

reset of session counters has two phases, timeshifted. as soon as the stop signal is received, transfer speed counters get reset first. there is no way to avoid it. but: if you resume your transfers in a short time after stopping, uploaded counters remain intact. the time limit is about 1 minute.

uTorrent does have the Downloaded field. right click the menu bar and enable it

but for you -when you are connectable- it means nothing else but waiting for their next announce update. in other words, from [desc=connectable]active[/desc] users you can download as soon as you connect, from the passive ones you need to [desc=until their announce]wait some time[/desc] when they receive your IP address from the tracker and transfers can be started. PS: what do you mean with 'operative term' ?

guys… once again:'not connectable' means nothing else but the fact that such a user can't accept incoming connections, nonetheless, they still can make outbound connections to your IP address after a couple of minutes, maximally in [desc=depending on when you join the swarm/torrent]30 minutes[/desc]. true, it's annoying that still many users don't know how to configure their devices to have port forwarding enabled, but there also are some users who simply can't change this status, as their ISPs didn't give them a public IP address. without this, it's impossible to be connectable. users with new versions of uTorrent can try to use uTP protocol that is supposed to overcome NAT issues to interconnect any two [desc=non-connectable]passive[/desc] nodes…

correct, but… as long as nobody pointed this mess in the beginning, we 'have to' continue with the current sorting. one way or another, it seems that by time we will have only 1 category for all 3 sorts, or at least 2 of them, 'cause users seem to not care or not to feel the difference among them, and torrents will be tagged {~twinks ~youngblood ~jocks}.

hello    what you pointed here out, is a know problem, alas, technically not so easy to fix. that's why we can't really apply some rules against this sort of events    unless we indeed can technically control this behavior. because most trackers in the internet world are open {non-private}, programmers didn't think of this problem and didn't implement such a function into trackers code {at least i can't remember any such a tracker}. because it's an enhanced function, it needs to be incorporated into the site code {what you can see here as your 'profiles'}. this change but requires complete reworks of the site code    i know that it would become beneficial for all users, as it would protect not only original uploaders, but all users with low ratio from over-seeding by members who don't really need it, but don't care…

referrers shouldn't be sent this way {it works like copy-&-paste}. this effect is possible with other browsers too {FF uses plugins to attain it - regardless methods of obfuscation}.

this function is not implemented {yet}, sorry. it would be hard to PM every connected user manually. i changed the torrent's title to attract their attention to read comments, but many of them don't seem to worry/care…

proxies aren't allowed for the web/account access, not so for torrenting 

we don't have our own proxy service for members, feel free to use one of the available, or just try other methods of blocking

for VPN services, please care to arrange your own IP address, if possible, to comply with our IP-per-account rule

i'm not sure what you mean with the limit, because seeding isn't limited anyhow. the only reason coming up my mind is that: some of
your torrents aren't completely downloaded which results in broken limit, thus error messages from the tracker. this behavior is normal
and all the same on all trackers, as this is standard.

as for the cripts, none are needed, just adjust switches on the search bar and you will get exactly what you ask for…

as told before, Shareaza has all these options in it…

this is definitely not about rules only. this site has less users and higher demands / requirements, thus keeping the rule strict
{no duplicates} is crucial for this site to make things running smoothly. 'no-dupe' rule protects users from dropping with their
ratio soon below their level, as there would be nobody to download from them to make some positive ratio for them…

it used to be free and, as far as i know, it still should be. i don't use this service anymore due to low sources. as these systems are almost decentralized, there's just a little chance to get some older stuff you want. but for those who need to build up their ratio, it's a good way to get files this way and then bring them here for reseeding, especially for fresh stuff.

an interesting way of implementation has Shareaza {the clean core only! - there are two Shareaza-s released, one of them is stolen, such a nasty act it was}. it offers sharing torrents separately from other P2P channels {needs to get configured first, Shareaza cares about private passkeys, hence torrent files are disabled in default. also DHT-enabled torrent clients have this option, but due to direct access to private torrents, these are excluded from searching {BitComet doesn't seem to care about them properly}. along with the torrent-share, Shareaza offers even more powerful way to get your stuff. however, i can't suggest it for torrent handling in general, as i didn't test it yet, how it reports transfered ratio to trackers; there's always been the problem with cross-networks clients. when i have some leisure, i will try to test this with a clean account…}

classical ways of P2P such as Gnutella, Kazaa, eDonkey… are also reliable if you know how to use them. there are couple of sites similar to trackers which collect correct file ID hashes - when you click to download such a link, you can be sure it's the file you are looking for. one of such systems is 'sig2dat'; i used to have an account there in the past…

fortunatelly, uTorrent is very 'modular' to our needs. to make a standalone installation is no big deal. pure copy/paste does it but here comes the trick: you need a separate shortcut of this exe-file where you need to define a special command in the end of command line, which is /recover

i can't tell you if we ever will have this feature, but you can use a little 'trick' to check your previous torrents. make a standalone installation of uTorrent {with separate working folders} and save only the torrent tasks in this list. when a duplicate attempt is going to occur, uTorrent will show you the announce about duplicated download. i'm sure that also other programs {clients} behave this way, but can't tell this for sure…

it's a very common term taken from a lot of coverbox images…

anyway, feel free to suggest a better one, i don't insist on this term, it was only meant to indicate how young the boys

should be in that category, since many {if not most} users don't seem to feel the distinction among these three categories.
