actually, resetting grace time would not help, especially you .. admins already announced and promised the next version of rationator, this will be more useful for all.

RE: Pop-up ad when logging in?
you needn't to be dishearted, my reaction was frank, not ironic. what you mention, is an everyday fact on internet. your IP address is transferred without you being aware of it (cookies, referrals, click-links, sunken scripts and other techniques). this is not only the matter of GT.ru but almost all over the world servers, as they need some money to run. only sites with paid membership don't use these "tricks" to make some money. someone has to pay the expences, i hope this is clear, electricity, contributions, webmasters… if you don't pay it directly, other ways are used to achieve it. how much, it is really not my bussiness and i really don't care if my IP is transferred somewhere or not. if you know how internet works, it might be the same for you too.
i can assure you that though we (staff) have the access to your IP address, we don't know any other personal data about you. the only "person" who knows it, is your ISP and "he" is obliged to keep it safe and private unless asked by court resolution (in my country neither police may ask for this info, only with injunction) so i still claim that there is no need to worry about.

RE: Pop-up ad when logging in?
lol, sorry but i could not help myself… every single peer in a swarm (torrent file with active peers) can see your IP address. what do you expect from revealing your IP address? i can see your IP too and i have absolutely no clue who you are, where you live or how you look like. i understand that you may be scaried with reading some paranoic texts on internet, but hey, come on. if you are not doing something illegal and you keep your PC safe (router / firewall / whatever) there is no need to worry.

RE: GAYTORRENT SHOWS NO RESPECT
well… there are a few "agrees" and "disagrees" with your statement. I don't know who is the author of all the "threatening texts" and it's not important for now, I admit that some of them really lack the "diplomatic language", but hey, don't worry. the fact itself, that you have least read them, says for all - you are a caring person, really don't take all the texts too personal. consider also the fact that the author(s) were/are not skilled/educated in empathic or diplomatic formulations. various people come from various "social environments" which can strongly influence their speach as well as their behavior and it doesn't mean that they need to be "nazi-like", I personally know lots of believers who behave more than badly (and "in the name of God"), so this is more about people themselves... but I agree with you that this "site presentation" could be (perhaps also should be) changed... but it needs some time to reformulate all the texts and this site is not our regular job, we all have our own lives...
I'm sure that most Staff members don't follow all these texts so strictly as you may suppose and if there are some "exceptions", we (Staff) are also people and people can behave different, as we actually are different in our natures. everyone can freely choose if he wants to use this site or not. the sad fact is that lots of users have a deep lack of EN language and though there are some texts and rules translated into other languages, most users even don't bother to read them, as well as this Forum (you would be surprised how "many" users really read it). and another sad fact is, though there are these rules, be them anyhow "nazi-like" worded, there are lots of users continually trespassing them, just an example: a common rule "don't register more accounts"...

RE: Difference between utorrent upload stats and my profile
This site uses only 'per session' (on the fly) statistics; what you see, is how much you have seeded per session (until you close your client), thus once you stop your seedings, rest statistics credentials are sent to the tracker and added to your previous records.

RE: Uploading and seeding with Azureus (now Vuze)
we don't block new clients (so far) no need to worry
aaliass: this is not an error message, it's about which client programs are allowed to communicate with a tracker

RE: Proxy Servers
http://www.cproxy.com/default.aspx?lg=2
one of them - just for an imagination how it looks like… not recommended for outside users, as it is located in our countries (CZ)

RE: Proxy Servers
nope. it's the sort of proxy, sort of way how the proxy handle your IP address. VPN proxies are always anonymous, free proxies usually not, but… you may find some...
-
RE: Proxy Servers
not completely… there can be a problem while using proxy, especially if you are assigned to one concrete mega proxy (with lots of users) and possibly some of them could be members of this site too. but there is no technical problem which would require avoid using proxy except "open registration day" (proxies are excluded in default, only invitations work). you can also set exceptions in your browser, which sites are to be accessed via proxy and which not. also, keep in mind that only "anonymous proxies" keep your IP completely hidden, but they are rarely free, though there are some. if you don't have an anonymous proxy, there is absolutely no need to use proxy at all (previously explained).

RE: Proxy Servers
as I told, each service has its own dedicated client, there is no "universal" application. but which service is good, I'm not able to tell you, as I'm not their user, maybe someone else…
-
RE: Proxy Servers
1. from the list of free proxy servers - easily found by google (note: many of them may not work)
2. 'applications' are specialized clients that behaves as VPN clients and almost ever are dedicated to some concrete service (mostly a paid one)

RE: Proxy Servers
depends what purpose… if you want to use it for your browser, just fill the appropriate fields in your browser and activate using proxy. if you want to use it for your transfers, you need some application which can connect you to proxies...

RE: Proxy Servers
This is a very large topic, therefore I will mention only some of basic facts
in the beginning of the Internet, proxy servers were intended and have been being used (still) for many useful purposes, among which belong such as sharing connection, measurement, traffic management, authentication, allowed/banned content, cache and sort of "privacy" (aka "NAT"). for simple users, a proxy was useful especially for speeding up downloading pages (aka "cache") because the leased lines were very expensive and IPSs were charged even by amount of data transfered (in some developing countries is this charge model still present). thus, if more users accessed the same pages (e.g. news, forecast, tv program) their connections ended up in the proxy cache and returned back with data instead of running the same trace to remote servers multiple times. also, sort of "privacy" (aka "anonymity") was achieved by masquerading user's local IP address with the proxy IP (the same happens also nowadays with using NAT function in routers)…
back to presence... still many users believe that using proxies can help them to hide their connections towards "bad guys" from copyright police. well, yes, partially true, in case that the proxy provider is located in countries with very liberal copyright laws or in countries with "no laws" but surely not in countries where RIAA and other spies are very active and their law system is very strict and directed against all forms of copyright infringement... be prepared that these services are paid, since they have to redirect all the traffic from your PC to remote servers, back to proxies and back to your PC, in other words they act as a "middleman" between you and any other remote server. connections are encrypted, of course, to avoid being spotted by (c) police and your ISP - hence another trick - some ISPs throttle BT traffic but once the connections are being encrypted, it is harder to spot them (though not impossible; network developers invented many sophisticated means to fight with unwished BT traffic)...

RE: How safe is it to be here?
You can specify which applications are to connect over proxies and which not. "Proxy-not-allowed" problem is related to your site account, not to your transfers. But, to be exact, we don't speak about "proxies" how most users may understand this term. There are specialized high-speed proxy services for this purpose, but all of them require a paid subscribtion. Common proxies free of charge may work, but their transfer speeds are extremely low. So far, PeerGuardian seems to be almost a sufficient solution against unwanted spies.

RE: Hidden leacher ??? stealing or bug ???
This "delay" is corresponding with "announce period". Your uTorrent doesn't show the actual state of all peers but the tracker does. The number of peers is actual in the time of the last uTorrent announce.

RE: Am I gay or not…?
Sexuality is not just making sex with the same or the other gender. Oficially, sexual orientation is devided into 7 basic degrees (you can find some more fact about it also at this forum). Thus, and by that qualification, you are classified as bisexual with a specific attraction. Just wait a few more years and you will see what way your body will "decide" to go, for now just take it easy, 'cause somehow or other, you can't influence this, rather don't worry.

RE: BAREBACK MOVIES - HIV scandal in gay porn industry
That's right, as you say. Although it is "technically" possible to detect HIV virus even just "after", these tests are not taken, because of their expensiveness (test based upon HIV DNA), instead, the tests based upon anti-bodies are used. Right, as you mention, the less time needed for positive matching is at least about a month, no sooner, thus it is not possible to get infected in relation to anti-bodies tests used before and after (too short time period). All this mess is taken for money, I guess… non-bareback studios ruining the bareback ones - as we know, "vox populi, vox Dei", public opinion is the strongest weapon for anything...
