I'd love to find someone or more than one who also enjoys chatting on the phone. Casual conversation erotic or whatever. Especially love to pic a porn and watch it together role playing with the film. I know of some conference bridges that can be used so not necessary to share personal phone numbers. Hit me up if interested.

RE: Gay people in science
Being a chemist and working in in the industry for several year before getting into the education side. I did not run into may who were into science. If I did they were a biologist or zoology, not chemist. But Oklahoma doesn't make for a good supporting society of any gay person here. But in general the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields are hurting for qualified people any way here in the USA. So not many seem to make it through into the real world.
From my experiences attending OSSM (Oklahoma School for Science and Mathematics). I find there are many gay students, if not slightly more than the average (open) traditional schools. Perhaps these people are more accepting, or more open about these things, but when it comes to the career objectives of these students, I find they tend to hide their sexuality.
While these students tend to not hide the sexuality amongst their peers, they tend to hide, or fail to disclose it amongst their superiors/potential employers.
I think scientists in particular, are interested, as a whole, as not being perceived as being too controversial. To the point that they'd rather be perceived as controversial in their physical science rather than in their social science.

RE: Headphone Quality
I admit I am probaly mostly paying for a brand name itself, and I'm probably no better than the kid I'm poking fun at. But with this particular brand, I know I'm getting a certain hardware quality with predictable and excellent performance. And more importantly, I know I can can always get replacement parts on the cheep. Or better yet, I can have them completely rebuilt for a small fee of about $30 (new speakers, lead, and cushions).
I've had nothing but good luck and satisfaction with Sennheiser headphones. Although I've never tried any other form factor other than the plain circumaural style. Nor have I tried the noise cancelling models. Although I have no experience to say otherwise, I believe plan circumaural cans offer the best quality for the dollar. However, I do suspect custom molded canalphones or IEMs would offer superior sound to all others. Unfortunately, I've never had the opportunity to try quality IEMs (just the cheap apple ones).
Which form factor do you use? Do you think you get what you pay for or is their some plateau of sound quality regardless of the amount invested in hardware? Or is the quality of the sound purely subjective and no scientific measurement can accurately determine the quality of headsets?

Headphone Quality
This topic could of fit in a couple different places, but what the hey, it's going here wether you like it or not.
Last weekend I was sitting on a mall bench (i was cohered in going), while my mother was in a store buying some unnecessarily expensive sweat shop clothing. This kid say 16 - 19 came up to me and wanted to talk music (I was listening to music at the time). I guess I give off this: "Talk to me" vibe, while wearing headphones and trying to isolate and not draw attention to myself. Anyway he kept talking to me. I didn't remove the headphones at first, thinking he'd just go away, but he didn't. Eventually I took them off and he asked what I was listening to, before I could answer he started telling me about some "awesome" group I had to check out. I asked what kind of music it was and he said: it's a sorta cross between goth, emo, screamo, and dance. Whatever nonsense that would be.
I have to admit I didn't want to hear what he had to say but he was really cute, so I nodded in agreement, took a Xanax and said something to the effect of: I'm not much into emo but some of the emo stuff from the 80's is inventive. He seemed puzzled and I thought I achieved my goal of him not talking to me anymore. I just wanted to be left alone.
He then asked about my headphones. What kind they were and how much they cost. I told him they were just run-of-the-mill Sennheiser's and cost about $300. I don't know if it was the Xanax kicking in or if he actually said this, but his reply was: why would you spend so much money on crappy headphones, when there were better ones like Beats or Bose for less than that price. I guess he got his headphone information while shopping at Abercromie and Fitch.
I know Sennheiser's aren't the best on the market, but I think they're reasonably priced considering the quality of them. And this isn't the first person who has asked me why I didn't buy Beats or some other shit like that with that money instead.
Do you own Beats or Bose? Do you think you paid too much for mediocre quality? Were you really concerned or educated about the sound reproduction of them or were you merely considering how they would improve your social status?
But seriously, what headphones do you use? Which headphones would you buy if money were no object? Do you believe Beats by Dre or Bose are actually "quality" headphones or just an overpriced brand name?

RE: Retin A
Perhaps the science for Retinol is lacking or biased against it by the drug companies, who for the most part conduct these trials, and have no interest in proving an unpatentable substance is comparably effective as the drug company's patent counterparts.
However with Retinol, I believe that any benefits it may poses, are very limited and is only measured by subjective responses. You also mentioned that this product was a moisturizer. Regular use of a quality moisturizer alone, that is well suited for your skin type, will greatly improve its appearance and texture by itself. You also mentioned it contained AHA which is an defoliant. Regular exfoliation also improves skin appearance and texture.
I image the benefits you're experience are likely mediated mostly through the moisturizer and the AHA. I suspect the Retinol has little effect, but the combined synergistic effects of the other ingredients is what gives you the benefits. Another factor may be that you are following a more strict skin care routine i.e. using less harsh soaps and on a more routine basis.
But I still think it well worth it throwing down $12 to get the prescription stuff. Not only will you notice an unmistakable improvement, you'll find others notice it as well, and start making comments.
Just my two cents. If you can't tell I'm sold on Retin A. Moisturizers are very important too. My skin is oily and I have a difficult time finding one that doesn't leave my skin oily and that isn't outrageously expensive. But when I do skimp on the moisturizer my skins appearance does begin to suffer. It becomes very sensitive.

RE: Retin A
From what I've read about Retinol, is that is technically a retinoid but one with has no biological activity. There is some debate as to if retinol can metabolize in the skin to all trans retinoic acid (tretinoin), the active ingredient of Retin A. But animal studies to determine if this is true, find virtually no detectable amount of tretinoin in the tissue after application.
Also Retinol is highly reactive and oxidizes very easily. So much so that it is no practical way to store and distribute the stuff without it oxidizing and becoming inert before it could be applied. Even if you could keep it in pure form, it would most certainly oxidize and become inert the instant you applied it to your skin and long before it would be absorbed into the skin where the metabolism process might take place.
I read products that contain retinol is very expensive, more so than their prescription counterparts. But may people swear by the stuff. Do you think it has improved your skin?
As for AHA I know very little except for I see it marketed in all types of skin care products.

RE: Retin A
After a bit more use my skin has become less sensitive of the medication and continues to look better all the time. I've had several people ask me how I keep my face looking so good. I almost don't want to tell them, but once I swear them to secrecy I let them know. My mom, after notice my skin's improved appearance started using it herself and is very pleased. Also, if you have any scars on your body it makes them appear much better. I have one on my arm I've been using it for. Initially it became very red but my dermatologist told me to keep using it and after three months you can barely see it.
It does make you skin flake and peel like crazy but with proper care it usually isn't a problem. Just be very careful not to do much to irritate your skin until you've very slowly titrated up the frequency and dosage of the medication.
I know I may seem vain but after using it for acne for a while (with moderate results, use antibiotics instead) and noticed how much it approved the appearance of my skin, I was amazed.

Torchwood: Miracle Day and Doctor Who Continuity
Last summer I watched the newest Torchwood series Miracle Day. Initially I found the premise of this series interesting, but as the series stretched on it became repetitive and predictable. I also was very disappointed in the fact the show seemed to give up on continuity with the Doctor Who series. We routinely see The Doctor traveling to this same time period/stream and finding no mention or notice of this supposedly world-wide event. This I just couldn't get past.
I assume they were probably trying to distance themselves from the Doctor Who franchise in order for the show would be followable for American audiences of whom, for the most part, have little to no knowledge of the Doctor Who franchise.
Even though I was disappointed I still hope that this is not the last we hear of Torchwood.
Anyone else a Doctor Who/Torchwood fan? What are you feelings about the newest Torchwood incarnation?

RE: "straight" Youngblood who won't kiss
I usually wouldn't go for anyone under the age 25 but this boy, who is in fact 19 years old, came on to me. I didn't seek him out, or hit on him, I thought it were a joke at first. He was adamant about it and I thought what the hell, I must still got it going on, and let him seduce me. I found the kissing thing a bit odd and the idea that the guy may actually fancy me had never crossed my mind. It wasn't until today when he contacted me again, wanting to get to know me better, and of course, have sex again, that I began to think he might just have a crush on me.
I certainly have no interest in dating or being in a relationship with someone his age. So now I've to to work out how to let him down without making him feel rejected. Considering his age, the fact that he may still has issues with his sexuality, and his wanting to see me again, I feel I may have one very sticky situation on my hands.
Should I try and explain the situation to him and risk him misinterpreting the whole thing, or should I just ignore and avoid the boy. The last think I want is a 19 year old stocker. I have to admit the whole situation has inflated my ego.

Ah… But the question is, is it really tight?
I know of one sure method to find this out and I gladly volunteer to do the dirty work of checking.

"straight" Youngblood who won't kiss
Last night I hooked up with a very young lad (from my point of view). I'm an elderly 31 year old man who met a handsome, smooth, well hung "youngblood" (18 he said). He was absolutely adorable and practically begged me to let him suck my cock. Needless to say I happily agreed and soon found myself getting one of the hottest blow jobs from such a young stud.
I didn't find it strange at first, but he went straight for my cock. No foreplay, kissing, etc. All he was interested in was sucking me off, which he did admirably. But when I went to return the favor, I started off by a little foreplay, first touching, and tried to kiss him. For someone who was so obviously practiced at sucking cock I was amazed, when to my surprise, he refused to let me kiss him. He didn't mind me kissing his body so much, but his neck and above were off limits.
I'm assuming since the boy was so young he was still uncertain about his sexuality, possibly believing he was "straight" and desperately horny. I've heard of men who won't kiss but I always assumed they were either closet homosexuals or bisexuals for whom need some justification for their self-perceived deviant behavior.
Once I learned of his disdain for kissing I almost felt like I was abusing him. Regardless of the fact he came on to me and who's stated goal was simply to suck me off.
Does anyone else have an adversion to kissing? What is your reasoning? Do you consider yourself straight, bi, or gay? Is this a rather common occurrence amongst gay men, or is it usually reserved to those who consider themselves bisexual or straight, or at least are in some state of denial or inability to accept their sexuality?
Was it abusive of me to become physically involved with someone with such a hangup? I mean, if they're that unsure of their sexuality, are they really rational and informed enough to consent to having sex, especially at such a young age. Should I just avoid interactions with men with such difference in age (younger)? Is it wrong of me to be aroused by handsome, unsure, nieve, young boy? Was I wrong in my actions?
Any input appreciated.

RE: HPV Vaccine for men
Well I asked my Doc about the HPV vaccine today. …..I had to have a prescription written, filled at a private pharmacy, vaccine brought back into the clinic and then administered.❞
This is great news, I'm glad it worked out for you. That you were able to request a medication, purchase it, and then have it administered all within twenty-four hours is living testament to the benefits gained by those with access to such a thing, a resource that others may only dream of.
:cool2:
Well it wasn't actually delivered today. The pharmacy had to order it so it won't be in until tomorrow, and then I can begin the first course of injections, which I believe number in three.
It's still a hassle to get it administered under the age of 19, regardless of someone willing to pay all the costs or not. Red-tape had to be cut to simply allow me the right to purchase this immunization due to my elderly age of 31.

RE: HPV Vaccine for men
… He was happy to order it for me but the federal and state governments had decided I had no need for it. Current legislation only allows for children to be vaccinated with public funds, and of course private insurance won't pay for it outright, regardless of age. ...
... Anyway the vaccine cost around $200 plus whatever my doctor is going to charge to inject me with it. But I'm still glad I'm having it done. ...
Welcome to reasons why I'm glad that I live in Canada. As a Canadian covered under the Ontario Healthcare Insurance Program (OHIP), which is available to all residents of Ontario who are either Canadian citizens, or are landed immigrants, such things are covered. About the only thing that isn't is the mere $50 fee for an ambulance.
For residents in other provinces or territories, the equivalent to OHIP in their province flips the bill as this "universal system" is available to ALL Canadian citizens or immigrants, regardless of the province in which they reside.
Are you insane? How do they get away with charging $50 for an ambulance ride when they can charge $5,000 here (U.S.). Probably because having the most advanced private health care and insurance system in the world, as we do in the U.S., our ambulances are not your garden variety snow-dog team stung together, our's have wheels, bright lights, noise makers and can even work on snow free surfaces. Can't say that about you snow sleds.

RE: HPV Vaccine for men
Well I asked my Doc about the HPV vaccine today. He was happy to order it for me but the federal and state governments had decided I had no need for it. Current legislation only allows for children to be vaccinated with public funds, and of course private insurance won't pay for it outright, regardless of age. Currently my doctor can only vaccinate people 18 and under with his private vaccine stock. I couldn't even pay bloody cash at the doctors office to acquire it. I had to have a prescription written, filled at a private pharmacy, vaccine brought back into the clinic and then administered.
Now I might see the reasoning in this if there were a shortage of the vaccine, and then the ones' not currently sexually active hold off on vaccinating until shortage is resolved. But to creating so many hurdles for such a public health issue is bad medicine.
Anyway the vaccine cost around $200 plus whatever my doctor is going to charge to inject me with it. But I'm still glad I'm having it done. Anyone notice any side effects?
