Thanks Popper, I appreciate your reply.
1. It should be made impossible to add a torrent unless a picture is included.
This is enforced by the upload system
So why are so many torrents uploaded without any screen grabs? How can this happen?
2. File names should match the video.
This is rather constraining for the uploder, because many sources name files 'hash' type like and this might require the uploder to copy the file (double storage space). It is more important that title ans description give correct information what the content is IMHO
Agreed, all file names and descriptions should match the video however this is not the case and whenever I have reported it nothing changes.
3. Snapshots should be relevant to the video.
That is required by the uploading rules
But because this rule is not enforced torrents are being posted regularly, everyday and are getting increasingly more in numbers.
4. If any of the 3 points above are ignored and are reported by other members then the mods should 'suspend' the torrent leaving it invisible, a message should be sent to the up-loader explaining why their torrent has been suspended and what needs to change. Repeat offenders should have their accounts suspended or deleted.
The issue is that many uploaders don't ever react on PMs sent by Staff to improve on these pure description issues, a side that making those uploads "invisible" will hit the wrong members, those who started downloads and won't be able to seed back, due to missing new downloading peers. We have a "punishment" for repeat "offenders" in place: set their uploads go through approval.
Up-loaders who do not reply to the PM's or comments regarding their infraction/s and do not correct them only highlight an untrustworthy member who does not respect the site rules. Are they members GT.RU want? Those that want their ratio's and/or points increased will care if their uploads are 'suspended' because they are not increasing their ratios and points, they will learn the site rules and adhere to them knowing that if their persistent infractions continue, they will be banned.
Those members who take the risk in downloading a video in a post that does not meet site rules must also understand that when that post is suspended they will have to wait till the owner of the post corrects the mistakes or unfortunately they will end up with only a fraction of the torrent. Its a risk they take when they 'click' the download button on a post that has no screen shots (as an example). This already happens when a duplicate torrent is deleted, many peers will end up with an incomplete download.
I never experience these problems with GT or GTN ever and I trust whatever I am downloading from their sites however it is often not always the case here in GT.ru were I have downloaded many torrents with my fingers crossed for luck.
If this issue was only once in a while I wouldn't mine but is happening all the time now.
GayTorrent.ru's moderation team faces a pure quantity issue, there are daily as many uploads as GTN has in a month. Members can help here by reporting all uploads not meeting the rules (especially wrong and/or misleading presentations), adding comments to the torrents what the shared content actually is (rather than complaining it is poor, missing, etc…) and adding good relevant picture.
I for one report several torrents a night for infractions, the duplicates are taken down but those that have no snapshots and/or file names such as "003568.mp4" with a post title of "two men fucking" with the description "hot!!" are always left visible on the site regardless of your own site rules (old or new) and these type of uploads are happening all the time everyday and in the example I gave of the 5 visible torrents in my original comment here, you can see that the up-loader gave no consideration to the comments left for him by myself and another member and he didn't care at all for the site rules. Out of interest is this member now having his up-loads go through approval?
I know you provide points for adding snapshots but in all honesty I really just don't have the time considering how many posts there are out there that have non and I suspect that providing this bonus enables up-loaders to not bother because someone will put one up eventually, thus encouraging your own rules to be broken in the first place.
If you are able to look inside my In-Box you will see a message I wrote to a mod a while ago, please notice his/her reply:
"We send them a request, but after that there isn't much we can do to force them to post images."
Why not?
IMO - members that want to upload a torrent must provide the correct tile of what they are uploading with the correct file name with accurate snapshots and accurate descriptions just like those over on GT and GTN, these are in no way exhaustive or unusual, these requirements are the 'norm'. Breaches in these rules will be met with suspension of the torrent till the post owner corrects them where 24 hours later the post will be deleted completely. Persistent rule breakers will be banned. I believe this will result in far far fewer infractions and a noticeable quality increase of the site as a whole. Getting the message across in the beginning will result in less work for the mod's in the end.
I've been here for a while, I've contributed a lot to the uploads and never once broken with the rules in regards to this. I visit GT.RU daily and over the year I've noticed a severe decrease in quality uploads. I do my best in reporting infractions whenever I'm here.
In part this is just me unloading my frustration but non the less.
Thanks Poppers. X
