House rules regarding screenshots.

In regards to the site rules, here: https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=1209.msg4240#msg4240
When posting torrents, please follow the the rules below;
1. The torrent file name matches the post title.
2. Avoid using things like "Gay", "Gay Sex Whores", etc, etc unless they are actually part of the movie title. Use the description box to post these kinds of comments.
3. Be specific with the title names. I know of at least 12 movies that have "Bareback Hotel" in the title.
4. Post the cover whenever possible, as well as the screen capture. Please do not post random pictures as this makes the film impossible to identify and decide if it's worth downloading.
5. Use the description box. This is especially important if you don't have very good pictures to upload of the movie.
6. Post in the correct section. Piss, fisting, S/M, etc movies are Fetish, regardless if it has twinks in it.
Example (All posted by the same member using the same screenshots within a 2 hour period all uploads still active and 4 were reported

I take it the rules regarding irrelevant or completely missing screenshots are no longer valid and members can either add any picture they want or just not do it at all.
Can a mod verify?
Thanks in advance

We do not police the uploads, we rely on users for that. We dd not know of an issue unless you use the report function at the bottom of every torrent page. Then you must give us time to investigate. We will not remove a torrent due to photo issue… So please report torrents that do no meet our guidelines.
-
4 were reported.
-
I only saw two in the report que, I did check his other and deleted the photos I found.
-
The first report contained 4 url's I believe the second report contained 1.
Do you not 'suspend' the torrent until the member corrects their mistake?
If there are no screenshots or irrelevant screenshots how is anyone to know if they want to download it and what happens if a member downloads it based on the screenshot only to find the video has nothing to do with the pictures posted on the torrent page as is stated in the rules.
Please do not post random pictures as this makes the film impossible to identify and decide if it's worth downloading.

Please only one url in one report. Actually users that have downloaded can actually post good photos to any torrent and earn points.
-
But many waste their bandwidth downloading a video that does not match the screenshots. What is there to stop someone uploading kiddy porn and adding a picture of two known porn stars?
-
Three of the six are also breaking the rule that a file list must be on the detail page for a collection.
It looks like the uploader just did the minimum to get the detail page uploaded.
But then I found one yesterday that looked like a duplicate, but it didn't have photos and the file name was changed. Making me download the torrent before I knew for a fact it was a duplicate.
-
I have also experienced this a lot. The file names changed to just random letters and numbers making it impossible to search for a duplicate and either an irrelevant screen shot or non at all. Clearly the uploader knows how to scam the system and this happens daily and not hardly ever.
IMO:
1. It should be made impossible to add a torrent unless a picture is included.
2. File names should match the video.
3. Snapshots should be relevant to the video.
If any of the 3 points above are ignored and are reported by other members then the mods should 'suspend' the torrent leaving it invisible, a message should be sent to the uploader explaining why their torrent has been suspended and what needs to change. Repeat offenders should have their accounts suspended or deleted.
I never experience these problems with GT or GTN ever and I trust whatever I am downloading from their sites however it is often not always the case here in GT.ru were I have downloaded many torrents with my fingers crossed for luck.
If this issue was only once in a while I wouldn't mine but is happening all the time now.
-
I have to say I have never had this problem but then I don't really download a lot.
In the examples given the lack of information is a nuisance and breaks the rules. However the file lists did seem to contain genuine file names…I mean who would go to the bother of making up those names.
And I would say if you don't know what something is, don't download it. There are nearly 90,000 live torrents - surely there will be something else to download
Just my two penn'orth

I've removed the forum topic referred to in the opening post, because it is partly out-dated (origins from 2007) and redundant with the Rules > https://www.gaytorrent.ru/rules.php

What you say here is of big concern for me, bigger than you will think from my above answers. The Uploading Rules were amended already last year to require better minimum standards.
GayTorrent.ru's moderation team faces a pure quantity issue, there are daily as many uploads as GTN has in a month. Members can help here by reporting all uploads not meeting the rules (especially wrong and/or misleading presentations), adding comments to the torrents what the shared content actually is (rather than complaining it is poor, missing, etc…) and adding good relevant picture.
For my part, I've to see how the internal processes can be improved, so that the new uploaders get helped to improve and those not learning get send to upload approval (earlier and systematically).
and we will require more active staff :crazy2:

Popper, you deserve a holiday
But I have said it before that if any torrent allows extra screenshots and there has been at least one completion, there is nothing to stop that downloader from making the shots and uploading them (and getting a bonus).
You don't even have to show your name like you do when saying thanks
-
Thanks Popper, I appreciate your reply.

So why are so many torrents uploaded without any screen grabs? How can this happen?

Agreed, all file names and descriptions should match the video however this is not the case and whenever I have reported it nothing changes.
3. Snapshots should be relevant to the video.
That is required by the uploading rules
But because this rule is not enforced torrents are being posted regularly, everyday and are getting increasingly more in numbers.
4. If any of the 3 points above are ignored and are reported by other members then the mods should 'suspend' the torrent leaving it invisible, a message should be sent to the up-loader explaining why their torrent has been suspended and what needs to change. Repeat offenders should have their accounts suspended or deleted.

Up-loaders who do not reply to the PM's or comments regarding their infraction/s and do not correct them only highlight an untrustworthy member who does not respect the site rules. Are they members GT.RU want? Those that want their ratio's and/or points increased will care if their uploads are 'suspended' because they are not increasing their ratios and points, they will learn the site rules and adhere to them knowing that if their persistent infractions continue, they will be banned.
Those members who take the risk in downloading a video in a post that does not meet site rules must also understand that when that post is suspended they will have to wait till the owner of the post corrects the mistakes or unfortunately they will end up with only a fraction of the torrent. Its a risk they take when they 'click' the download button on a post that has no screen shots (as an example). This already happens when a duplicate torrent is deleted, many peers will end up with an incomplete download.
I never experience these problems with GT or GTN ever and I trust whatever I am downloading from their sites however it is often not always the case here in GT.ru were I have downloaded many torrents with my fingers crossed for luck.

I for one report several torrents a night for infractions, the duplicates are taken down but those that have no snapshots and/or file names such as "003568.mp4" with a post title of "two men fucking" with the description "hot!!" are always left visible on the site regardless of your own site rules (old or new) and these type of uploads are happening all the time everyday and in the example I gave of the 5 visible torrents in my original comment here, you can see that the up-loader gave no consideration to the comments left for him by myself and another member and he didn't care at all for the site rules. Out of interest is this member now having his up-loads go through approval?
I know you provide points for adding snapshots but in all honesty I really just don't have the time considering how many posts there are out there that have non and I suspect that providing this bonus enables up-loaders to not bother because someone will put one up eventually, thus encouraging your own rules to be broken in the first place.
If you are able to look inside my In-Box you will see a message I wrote to a mod a while ago, please notice his/her reply:
"We send them a request, but after that there isn't much we can do to force them to post images."
Why not?
IMO - members that want to upload a torrent must provide the correct tile of what they are uploading with the correct file name with accurate snapshots and accurate descriptions just like those over on GT and GTN, these are in no way exhaustive or unusual, these requirements are the 'norm'. Breaches in these rules will be met with suspension of the torrent till the post owner corrects them where 24 hours later the post will be deleted completely. Persistent rule breakers will be banned. I believe this will result in far far fewer infractions and a noticeable quality increase of the site as a whole. Getting the message across in the beginning will result in less work for the mod's in the end.
I've been here for a while, I've contributed a lot to the uploads and never once broken with the rules in regards to this. I visit GT.RU daily and over the year I've noticed a severe decrease in quality uploads. I do my best in reporting infractions whenever I'm here.
In part this is just me unloading my frustration but non the less.
Thanks Poppers. X

So why are so many torrents uploaded without any screen grabs? How can this happen?
They probably aren't. They have probably been uploaded with a, perhaps inappropriate, picture which the Moderators have removed after someone has reported it. You can't expect the Moderators to then replace it with a decent picture.
I can't help but feel that you are looking for rule-breakers or that you are unlucky. I too have been here for a while (even longer than my current details, which are public show) and I haven't seen this as the major problem that you have. I tend to just ignore torrents that don't explain what they are.
You seem to want to punish every rule breaker.
-

I delete the irrelevant photos(when reported), but do not have time to try to find replacements. But first torrents that do mot meet our rules have to be reported…

No, when a duplicate torrent is deleted the people whom are downloading the files still receive their download as long as the uploader still seeds the torrent, All that happens is that the torrent detail page is removed thus not allowing anymore people to download the .torrent file and join the swarm.
Now, the same thing can happen with other torrent detail pages that do not follow the rules. They could be removed from the general public view, not allowing anybody else to download the .torrent file until the torrent detail page is fixed by the uploader. This would still allow the ones that have downloaded the .torrent file to complete the download. If the uploader fails to fix the errors or if the uploader continues to make errors on the detail page then the uploader could have his privileges suspended or be banned.

So why are so many torrents uploaded without any screen grabs? How can this happen?
Through the "[Edit this torrent]" function the uploader (the first 7 days) and staff got.
Agreed, all file names and descriptions should match the video however this is not the case and whenever I have reported it nothing changes.
File names in a torrent's file list can't be changed without a new torrent.
But because this rule is not enforced torrents are being posted regularly, everyday and are getting increasingly more in numbers.
The rule is enforced when GayTorrent.ru moderators get notice of the issue, the picture will be removed, members to add better then. Reporting is important therefore.
Regarding the longer paragraphs of rothko:
We got many members doing their first uploads, often driven by low ratio warning messages. It is already difficult to get the first own upload on a private tracker wronging (therefore the First Time Upload Program bonus points). Those hasty uploads have indeed often not rule conform presentations. Then there are two aspects…
1/ Get members to improve their upload presentations and help them doing so (your first uploads might not have the level than yours have now ...), rather than pull out the hammer and punish
2/ It is just the presentation, it can be improved. I refuse to warn members who do the most important thing: share content with the members. The current system hasn't an option to "park" torrents with not rules conform presentations (that would be great) only two...
1/ Delete a torrent (that is what is done with torrents having issues with the content shared, e.g. alleged copyright infringement, potential under legal age models, etc...)
2/ Remove from the public access, but still track them until above 1/ (that is done for example with duplicate uploads, a practice I'm not sure if it is good, as it encourages duplicate uploads. On the other hand repeated duplicate uploads are a freeway to get set on approval)
Once set like this, the uploader lost access, too, so that isn't the right option for poor presentations. That is limiting the possibilities in how to process those torrents which have a poor description and to my experience changing the system will take years, just because most resources are occupied to keep the site running against all odds.

I log-on, I go to the first page just like anyone else and I look through the torrents on that page, again just like everyone else, I do no different. During that 'scan' of the first page I regularly come across posts that have no snapshots, no descriptions, nonsense video titles and many were other members have left comments highlighting these issues direct. That's it. There is no hunting of any kind, I don't have to, they are there in full view.
There is nothing here that I have written that would lead you to believe I want to "punish every rule breaker". The only action I have suggested is those members who ignore PM's have their uploads suspend and repeat rule breakers could find themselves banned. These rules already exist in many different forms on this and any other site. You are bound by them as if everyone else.
-

Comments won't get a staff attention, unless reported. Rather than make a comment about poor or wrong information, members should add comments with missing information or add pictures, and/or report the the torrent for wrong or misleading information (including pictures).
-

File names in a torrent's file list can't be changed without a new torrent.
"Nothing changes" is meant in general, not with that particular torrent.

But you said earlier improvement would "require more active staff" Members that leave comments regarding site enforced post quality probably feel they are informing the up-loader without reporting them to a mod. I remember my first upload here were I didn't copy the file names onto the post description, a member left a comment about it and I corrected it as soon as I got the message, no mod involved at all and no need. When I do report them via the mods nothing happens and I guess its because:
"We send them a request, but after that there isn't much we can do to force them to post images."
I have to say I'm beginning to feel like I'm walking through mud here, way too much of an effort for me. Having read through this whole conversation there has been nothing agreed on and no sign that there is even an issue here on GT.RU and that's fine, the site is not mine and I hold no responsibility for it.
As I said before Poppers this is just my opinion and you can do with it what you will.
Thanks again
