    • RE: Did some pissed off anti-gay priest write anti-gay stuff in the Bible?

Most of the anti-gay stuff in the bible is due to mistranslations.

Often, historically written "prostitute" is written in more modern times as "homosexual".  By "modern" times, I mean the last 800 years or so.

The bible OT and NT are against pagan rituals because they want you to convert to their religion.

The rule against laying with a man as with a woman is probably another mistranslation.  It's thought that it's about not laying with a temple prostitute as you would with a normal woman.

Also, think of this;  you are a tribe of people hellbent on fighting with all of your neighbors, you can't have your men having unproductive sex.  Your men need to be banging women to reproduce.

    • RE: Shaving

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam could/should be thought of as having a prohibition to altering the body except where ordered by "god".

Your body is either a temple to god or belongs to god.

You can't go into the temple/church if your body isn't perfect.  Even men injured in war are forbidden from going into the temple/church.

Excluding christianity, you are not allowed to enter the temple/church unless you are circumcised.   If you read the Old Testament/Torah, it clearly says that only the jews are to be circumcised.   Non-jews who were circumcised and those who did it were to be killed.

      ++++

EDIT:  Only jews and muslims are supposed to be circumcised.   HOWEVER, there is an exception.   Slaves of jews and muslims are to be circumcised.    I don't know the exact rule for muslims, just that their male slaves must be circumcised.   Jews must circumcise their slaves before the slave enters the town/village and before the sabbath, whichever comes first.

      ++++

The only shaving the Abrahamic religions approve of is for unmarried men to be cleanly shaven on their face.  There is also a requirement to keep their hair short while unmarried.    Married men are not allowed to shave or cut their head hair.    In modern times, muslims don't obey the prohibition of cutting their hair after marriage.

NOTE:   The above is in the historical context and may not still be observed by the religion or sect of the religion.

    • RE: Possibility that HIV is man-made

Other animals have a version of HIV, so it's not a surprise we have our own.

Most scientists believe it's mutated form of ape (of whatever species) HIV.

As an example,  Rhesus Macaque Monkeys carry many deadly human diseases but are immune to the diseases themselves.  This is why they were a favorite test subject for drug and virus testing.  There's a wild colony (thanks to animal rights twats) in Florida who have an extremely deadly, to humans, type of herpes that they are immune to.    Unlike typical human herpes that affects the skin, the RMMs carry a type that attacks internal organs.  Chickens have an almost identical type of herpes that is fine, at least for now, for humans to come in contact with.

I'm not saying that HIV or any other disease didn't have a human hand in it, because as we all should know by now that governments do create super viruses and whatnot, despite international law.

    • RE: France

I'm not in France, so I can only go by what I see in the media.

The rich got tax cuts, while Macron piled on taxes that seriously hurt the middle class.

Another problem is that 79% of French citizens say that they have had enough unfettered immigration.  As part of this uncontrolled immigration, taxes have had to go up to support these people.

Many of the things happening in France are happening in the rest of the west.

Sweden had to raise its retirement age from 60 to 69 to fund the welfare for the migrants.  Previously, they had a 5 year surplus in their state pension fund, meaning they could have lowered the retirement age to 55.  That is a 14 year loss in their state pension fund, solely due to migrants coming to the country so they can get welfare.

      @jamiefear:

This is just MRA trolling and nonsense.

Please prove me wrong on any of the above-mentioned topics.

You clearly worship at the altar of vaginalism and all its dogma.

I am an egalitarian.  I believe in true gender equality, which is why I despise vaginalism.

    • RE: Definition of Fascism

There's a huge difference between western leftists and other leftists.

Western leftists hate their country, whiteness and everything else associated with the west.    Of course, it's no surprise when you ask a western leftist what country is better than a western country, they can't answer it.

Non-western leftist focus on more on communism/socialism, while western leftists focus on dictatorial governments.

No one is really "free" but the US is the free-est country there is, thanks to its constitution.

Military controlled countries are far from free, though free-er than religious controlled countries.

    • Liberal Europe is falling apart

Liberal Europe is falling apart fast.

UK PM Theresa "Treason" May is trying to force the country to be even more of a slave to the EU, than if we stayed in the EU under the current shitty terms.  The "deal" she wants the UK to sign up to will prevent the UK from ever getting out of the deal without the vile EU's permission.

Merkel's welcoming of unlimited millions of "economic refugees" into Europe has been a disaster and caused a huge division within the EU.

France's "green" taxes on fuel lead to riots.

The UK government now says that "Islamaphobia" is racism, therefore a hate crime.

The EU (along with individual liberal member states) and the UN want to criminalize criticizing migration.

Thanks to "greenies", the EU has put extremely harsh fees on landfill use.  So everyone went to incinerators, despite people saying they are dangerous.  They called us liars.  Now we find out that even as far as 20 miles away (no studies done further away, yet) animals, eggs, honey, fruit, and veg, etc are absorbing the very same toxins that we were told were impossible to escape from the incinerators.

      ++++

Outside of Europe, Canada is doubling it's natural gas prices through taxation.  So heating your home and cooking your food will now cost twice as much.

I don't know how exactly Canada works, but if it was the UK, you'd be paying VAT (aka sales tax) on all the other taxes as well.  Gordon Brown, when he was Chancellor under Tony Blair, moved VAT to the end of the line, so you pay VAT on everything; ie the item, fees, charges, surcharges, taxes and all the other bullshit the government piles onto the cost of goods.

    • Sully the Service Dog - the left's hatred

George HW Bush's service dog, Sully, has been the subject of attack by the left.    Why is this?  Any lefties care to explain?

Anyway, Slate and countless other liberal sites have written articles attacking Sully the service dog.  Most of these articles seem to be attacking Sully simply for existing and doing his job.

Left of Center, Tim Pool has done a video on this and mentioned it in a few other videos as a side point.

The left hates their enemies so much that they will attack their dogs, service or not.  If Sully was the service dog of a lefty, you guys would be singing the praises of Sully, but since you hate the person he was with, you hate him as well.

Before you buy, check out YouTube.  There's plenty of videos on this and most other mainstream games.

I had high hopes, but after seeing it on YouTube, I decided to give it a pass.

    • RE: Fallout 76

I enjoy the game for the most part.

Stranger parties are pretty rare, but you will see a lot of friends out running around.  Bethesda did say that Fallout 76 was for questing parties, not so much solo.  They did say they made it so you can play solo, as well., but it's much harder since you quite often get swamped by mobs.

NOTE:  While most of my comments apply across all platforms, I only have direct knowledge about XBox.

If we forget the bugs for a bit, the main problem with the game is that the storyline is driven by holo-tapes and notes.  The holo-tapes are fine but the notes, for the most part, are impossible to read due to the faded nature of the writing compared to the dirtiness of the paper.

Clearly, there are living humans as you see the helicopter things flying around and people talking on the radios.  So it makes no sense that there are no NPC humans in the game.

Events are forced on you if you are in the area.  You must leave the area to stop doing the event.  You can't just go into an area and do a quest if there's an event going.  Events are on a timer, so if you time it right, you can avoid them.  The problem is, if no triggered the event in a while, then you will trigger it.    It would be better if you "signed up" for events in some way so you can go on about your business without having to worry about it.  Event times have been extended so it's not quite as bad as it was at launch, but it's still not good enough.

      OK, on to bug.

Typical of Bethesda, Fallout 76 is full of bugs.  Sadly, in many cases, when they fix one bug, they cause AT LEAST 1 new bug and in some case, they cause several more.

The most recent patch (4 Dec 2018) saw an improvement in the way visuals are dealt with to improve performance.  While there was a performance boost, gold color highlights are now loose and follow your field of vision.  If you shake your in-game head in front of gold highlights, you can fill your screen.  This happens if you move too fast.  If you turn your head slowly, you should be fine.

Seams also seem to be bigger/more noticeable after the recent patch.  You don't really notice it in bright areas, though.

    • RE: Boy, 6, forced to be transgender

I've been watching this story unfold and it's extremely scary.

You know when the kid finally does snap and kills his mother, he'll still get the death penalty.

All this crap is based on the junk science by that Canadian fuck wit (can't remember his name right now) who looked for a boy who was injured during MALE GENITAL MUTILATION so he could convert him into a girl and prove to the world that gender is a social construct aka learned.  Anyway, the kid was fine until he got into his mid-teens than everything went crazy.  He trans-ed back to male when he became an adult, but ended up killing himself.

    • RE: Electoral College

The total number of votes cast in Alabama is lower than the number of votes assigned to candidates.  That is a fact.  Even if we ignore who benefitted from it, the fact remains that more votes were assigned to candidates then votes were cast.

It screams of Broward Co. in Florida with boxes of votes in rental car trunks at airports, an unknown black pickup transferring ballot boxes into official ballot trucks in the middle of nowhere, or sneaking off with ballots and counting them by yourself in another room.

It screams of illegally destroying contested ballots while before the courts like we saw from the same county in a previous election.

Voter fraud is rampant in Democrat districts.

Without the animosity and conspiracy theorizing of Raphjd,

You still didn't respond to this part of my comment.

The animosity comes come liberals always screaming "racism" when saying we need to get rid of the Electoral College.

The so-called "conspiracy theory" has it's own page on leftist Wikipedia.  Even Wikipedia treats it as fact.  I learned about this back when I was in college.

Kinda odd that even leftist Wikipedia has an article on the event you claim is a conspiracy theory.

    • RE: Health care - men are opressed

      https://www.bmj.com/content/359/bmj.j5224

After deduction of clinical lead time cancers, 32% of cancers found in women invited to screening in 2010-12 and 52% of screen detected cancers would be overdiagnosed.

      https://prostatecanceruk.org/prostate-information/prostate-tests/psa-test#advantages-and-disadvantages-of-the-psa-test

The PSA test can miss prostate cancer. 1 in 7 men (15 per cent) with a normal PSA level may have prostate cancer, and 1 in 50 men (two per cent) with a normal PSA may have a fast-growing prostate cancer.

So, breast cancer screening has a 52% failure rate, but Prostate cancer screning has a 15% and 2% failure rate.

Oddly, the official reasons not to have a prostate exam is that you "might worry" about the results, but they don't say that to women about breast cancer screening.
