If both have the same size, it is very unlikely that a RAR archive and a separate file collection actually contain the same files. The RAR archive containing the same files should be of smaller total size, but can well be less than 10% (additional) compression. If the RAR contains the same files, it is duplicate, but we can't detect that, that needs a report by a member having downloaded the archive and opened it.
I'd like to note as well, that video files in archives are not permitted by the Rules > Upload Rules: "8. Do not upload VIDEO packed in archives (zip, rar, …), password protected files, or material that needs to acquire a license for playing"
Other aspects regarding duplicates in the context of collections are indicated there > https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=24020.0
What canonmc says is true. In many cases dupliactes have the same file name in the torrent's file list. It pointed me as well to the fact that the rules duplicate definition omits to say it must of course be for the same content. With content I mean film, movie, clip, book, magazine picture collection, audio book, application etc …
That is a great offer
For the answer to first part of your question, our rules give an indication "… A file is considered a duplicate if an existing torrent has the same format and similar size (<10% difference) and has at least one seeder. ..."
"format" refers to the digital file container format, for example .avi, .mp4, .mkv, .wmv. We can't inspect the movie files, and therefore "see" the encoding parameters used, therefore we assume that a file with the same format and similar size are duplicate.
If the uploader can argument what his torrent's file is different than the already existing, we can make an exception to the 10% rule. An example are different language versions or different hardcoded or subtitles included in the container.
There are same file format extensions which can be changed without effect to the files content. In case the file got the same size, then we assume it are the same for such interchangeable extensions. Examples are:
.m4v <> .mp4 <> .mov [1]
.mpg <> .mpeg <> .dat [2]
.avi <> .divx
As well in case of DVD Video, Bluray Disc or (S)VCD, only either a DVD image version, for example .iso or a data files version, for example VIDEO_TS folder files of similar size are permitted.
The second part is a kind of imperfection in generating the search result list, listing sometimes the same torrent multiple times. It is indeed the same torrent, so it isn't duplicate to it self.
Like often, it depends.
If the member who is making it freeleech is one of the seeder (best the only) and sure to have a good enough upload rate to seed it completely in a short time (best much shorter than 24 hours), it can be a plan to increase the share ratio. A member described that plan somewhere. Personally, I find the plan a little risky in terms of ratio.
If the member who makes it freeleech is not one of the seeder, there is a certain risk that the upload of a full copy within the freeleech time isn't achieved. This risk increases with less seeder and bigger file size. IMHO, five seeder should be enough. Even one seeder can be enough, if he got a good available upload rate. Most seeder here have their torrents seeding without uploading much data, because of missing downloader. So even with few seeder in most cases their nearly complete upload rate will be available, especially as torrent clients give priority to torrents with low seeder to leecher ratio. So for an average size torrent with 1 to 2 GB file size, even one seeder should be enough.
Between my previous post and now a single member made more than 30 duplicate reports.
You do not need to post the referrer link to people you know, you can post them under a pseudo in forums or on blogs (read their rules regarding links nevertheless). Only you know that the referrer ID is yours, nobody else, except the administrators here, knows your referrer ID.
Yes, many members got tons of seed bonus points. Not through the 0.5 / hours for seeding, but through gifts on uploads, referrer link sign-ups (my points in majority are from that) and duplicate reports.
…
Hm. Call me a pedant but someone who models for a studio, even when it's his first time, ain't no amateur no more. No siree! :cool2:I wonder if we really need a special category for professionally produced fake amateur clips. Perhaps it would make sense to drop that category altogether and unite all videos where non-professional people are before and/or behind the camera into a revised "Homemade" category. It could be re-named "Non-professional" or something like that to make the change obvious to all users. (Members' own productions could stay separate or be put in there as well.)
The Amateur category always existed and was always used mainly for the professional studio productions with so called amateur models. The same is valid for the other gay torrent sites. To give a place for the real pure amateur productions with amateur models and without any commercial intention, we've created the "Homemade" category, which is specific to GayTorrent.ru (at the moment).
Quite simple:
Each member got a personal referrer ID. If someone visits GayTorrent.ru using a link (URL) with the referrer ID at it's end and then or later signs-up an account, the member to which the referrer ID belongs gets 250 seed bonus points.
When you visit the "Affiliate" page in the blue menu page, you find there two links already completed with your personal referrer ID, one to the Home Page, the other to the Forum Index page. There are instructions how to add the referrer ID to any other GayTorrent.ru page URL.
This works via cookies, so if the visitor erases cookies before getting back and he uses a link without referrer ID, sorry, no sign-up reward.
It is the product of size and duration. 1 GB for 24 hours needs 200 points. 2 GB for 24 hours needs 400 points, or 2 GB for 48 hours needs 800 points.
Points needed = 200 points * size in GB * duration in days
Sorry, no discount for the uploader.
Amateur includes "amateur" models in professional productions. In quotes, because often the amateur status is a fiction mounted by the studio. Examples for professional amateur model productions are Czech Hunter or FranterniyX.
Homemade are real amateur productions with real amateurs models, In this sense they are close to the "members" category productions. They have no commercial purpose.
[off-topic]off-topic but :lolp:[/off-topic]
We don't got a Poor DVD-R category, but I'll use above a little reworded as a proposal, because we are still in the brainstorming phase which is "open" …
….
perhaps add 'DVD5-compressed' and 'DVD-untouched-uncompressed' somewhere …
Can you propose a formulation, please?
Remark: All DVDs are "compressed", i.e. using the MPEG-2 video codec and either PCM, MPEG Audio Layer 2 or Dolby Digtal (AC3) audio codec, were only PCM isn't compressed. I guess you mean with "compressed" shunk and/or crunched to fit an original DVD9 onto a single layer DVD-R(W) or DVD+R(W). It is to note that some movies are original released on DVD5.
When you add a torrent to your torrent client to reseed a file you've already got and it starts downloading, something went wrong. Stop the torrent ASAP, the downloaded data will count. Then read the reseed guide(s) to understand what went wrong and how to correct that.
Right. The file you've already got needs to match to the byte the file in the torrent's file list then the procedure is the same than reseeding a file downloaded from here.
Invites allow members which are Power User to invite friends to join GayTorrent.ru when inscription isn't open. When members gain Power User status, they get 4 free invitations.
That means they serve you nothing at the moment, because you haven't Power User status and registration is open, no invitation needed.
Uniform [Hero - Worship] - Cops, Firemen, Marines, Navy men, Air force men [ Basically any job where they have to protect people]
Sorry, but there is no Uniform category, we got only Military, which has it's pros and contras …
That proposal opens the question if Military shall cover as well uniforms like Rangers, Police and Firemen?
Sorry, this topic is to define definitions / descriptions of the existing categories, not to wish additional. We got already 42 (!) and have put on hold adding more.
We've worked out an exhaustive number of tags, which if used more by uploads would make them very powerful.
There is a site features requests board, in which exist topics regarding the wish of a separate Wrestling category. I agree that there is quite a high number of wrestling torrents and that BDSM isn't a right category for wrestling. I've as well noticed that the Wrestling SIG is quite busy, but it ran a little out of control, becoming an inofficial request board :crazy2:
