    • RE: Torrent Not Seeding

Actually I see one torrent of the three "seeding" (means proposed as source for download), but there is currently no peer downloading, so there is no upload of data possible.

The good thing is, that your torrent client is reported connectible  🙂

Now you can perhaps start seeding the other completed download, though there isn't any peer downloading either, to increase the chance that there is eventually a downloading peer on one of them.

    • RE: Weird seeding problems…

It is just determining if the tracker counts the torrent as downloading peer (leecher) or seeder. Uploaded amount of data will be count as reported (announced) by your torrent client to the tracker towards the total upload amount. In your example 813.07 GB.

Actually often already when the torrent client still downloads parts of the files of a torrent, it already uploads the parts it already got. and these are reported as uploaded by the torrent client and counted accordingly.

    • RE: Hairless Twinks Wrestling!!

These look much younger than 18+ and you'll won't find such wrestling torrents here, because if porn, they fall under the under legal age content ban and if non-porn they miss the LGBTQ Theme or the adult male physics.

Such children / teenager wrestling movies aren't illegal (as long as they don't involve sex scenes, which you dare to evoke), but GayTorrent.ru is not the right place to ask for them.

    • RE: A help please.

Sorry, other than general questions about donations can't be answered in the forum.

This concerns your personal donation, therefore, please write to the Helpdesk under the "Donation" category and indicate details about your donation such as amount, payment reference, date and time. Only very few staff members can track that, (one or two).

    • RE: What are wishlists for?

Wish List allows you to bookmark torrents for later download or any other reason you find useful  and to find them back quickly through the "Show torrents on Wish List" link above the search categories box. It was a frequently requested function, so many members find it useful.

      @200577:

      (…)
Popper, it was suggested I might have added the sad emoticon in the post title by mistake. I'm quite sure I didn't. I use emoticons only rarely and never in titles. I have an idea what might have happened and, perhaps why.

Regardless, it's sad that rather than simply pass on, one person out of the 160+ who viewed the gif might have decided to get a little snide. One bad comment from 70 posts and a quite prominent 'sad' face suddenly appears under my rep bar. Who knew that could happen? Not the end of the world. No-one got killed. But it bloody annoyed me.

I understand it annoys you and have tested a little more how it works (but don't know where to change the configuration, except to disable the voting icons all together):

The forum member gets the icon given by the majority of votes right lower corner to any of his posts, if the number of votes for smileys are equal, the last given prevails. That means if there was only one vote, it is that icon, the sad smiley it was in your case.  Similar to the icon attached to a post title, but only count icon votes made to that post.

    • RE: Reputation Power

That is something I've no idea how it works and how it can be changed. Very strange functioning and NOT reputation power related. Reputation is voted by the heart symbol bottom left in the posts side panel. These smilies are voted bottom right of a forum post, but how that exactly influences the smiley attached to the side panel isn't very clear to me.

Because it is well thought and elaborated, but a little complex  >:D

Actually, that isn't a specific GayTorrent.ru formula, but part of the basic bulletin board software package used for the forum.

    • RE: Reputation Power

By coincidence I've found how it is calculated:

Reputation points are earned as following:
3 points for opening a topic
      1 point for a reply

With every 50 reputation points the reputation power increases by 1.

The first block in the bar requires 100 reputation points, then the number of additional points needed for the next block is increased each time by 100 (i.e. 100 + 200 = 300; 300 + 300 =600).

Regarding the "heart" voting up/down by members influenced by the voter's power, it seems the number of reputation points gets increased/reduced by the voters reputation power (e.g. if I vote with a current power of 160, I'll add 160 points to the member who's post I voted to like, at least his power increases by 3).

    • RE: What means the red color of the seeding bar?

The it happens when the tracker update fails and µtorrent can't reach the tracker. If your internet is slow that can be the cause. To much torrent, can slow down torrents. You should set the maximal upload rtae to about 80% of your internet access capability.
Use µTorrent's speed test to get the right setting.

[off-topic]That is where additional category voting becomes important. Uploaders of a torrent can vote for additional categories and members having completed the download of all the torrents files, too. It is even rewarded with 2 seed bonus points per torrent voted.[/off-topic]

I've forgotten to mention: As long as you seed at least one completed download (all files downloaded), you'll get 0.5 bonus points per hour seeding, even without actually uploading any data.

    • RE: Does ratio expire?

Ratio does not expire, it is the result of your Upload and Download, it is actually the rtio between these two and expresses how well you share (to a certain extend).

      Ratio = Upload / Download

That means in your example, you'll first have no (or infinite) ratio because of the division by zero not being defined and then it is going down from a high value towards a low value close zero (it will display zero when it gets below 0.0005).

Regarding your question what happens when others don't leech, well normally everything is leeched by someone sooner or later. The later can take months or years. You influence the probability having leecher by the choice of your torrent. Top new, one file only, 1 seed only, yet few leecher torrents are good. Freeleech, too. I'd download only those I like, not just because of ratio …

    • RE: Weird seeding problems…

The tracker will count your torrents with not all files downloaded as downloading peer, because only peers who got all files can be count as seeder. So far all is normal and OK (that is what all trackers I know do, it is inherent to the bit torrent protocol).

With 10 such torrents seeding, you shouldn't get that failure message, but I know from times when I've used a proxy service using multiple exit IPs, that strangely it counts torrents per IP and not only per passkey. it seems you seed from different IPs (either your IP changes periodically or you use a proxy) and that could explain your issue.

    • RE: Trackers

GayTorrent.ru's tracker is a private tracker, so it will track only torrents for which the .torrent file has been uploaded to GayTorrent.ru.

You can create and upload to GayTorrent.ru a .torrent file with any valid tracker URL, but we recommend http://tracker.gaytorrent.tw:2710/announce , because in case of problems in the upload process it allows you to see if the torrent client (µTorrent in your case) can connect to the tracker.

If you download a .torrent file from GayTorrent.ru, it will get the right tracker URL inserted, which replaces the URL used in the uploaded .torrent file. That tracker URL contains your personal secrete passkey and is therefore unique for each member. It got the format mirko69 indicated http://tracker.gaytorrent.ru:2710/<your_passkey>/announce</your_passkey> . Where "<your_passkey>" is a long series of letters and numbers.

You find that tracker announce URL in your Profile. You go to the Profile by clicking on your name in "Welcome back, …" left below the blue menu band.

Adding that tracker to a torrent already in your µTorrent will only work if the torrent was uploaded to GayTorrent;ru and the torrent in your µTorrent is set to be a private torrent (a setting which can't be changed for an existing torrent in µTorrent).</your_passkey>

    • RE: Caught, with Vuze

Our site built-in connection tester reports your Vuze as not connectible, which confirms your tests when not at home.

Concerning the upload issue, it can be related to that connection issue. Have you activated the UPnP plugin options of Vuze to automate port forwarding? If not, you could try that option.

Where do you test connection, under Vuze's "Help" > "NAT / Firewall Test …" ?

You can as well try if encrypting the bit torrent protocol improves upload Vuze > Tools > Options > Connection > Transport Encryption > select RC4 and disable all not encrypted connections. That might help if your ISP is doing something against bit torrent traffic.

Regarding your exposure while torrenting: Bit torrent is a peer 2 peer file sharing protocol and that other peers can connect to you (to send or receive data), requires the exchange of the IP addresses. So while torrenting your IP will be shown in the torrents swarms, what ever torrent client you use.

Only way to avoid that is to use a proxy server or VPN connection, both only working well if a paid service, or again a seedbox. then the proxy, VPN or seedbox IP will show to others.

Private Internet Access is an example for a VPN, costs 40 USD per year. You find others on TorrentFreak.

    • RE: Torrents deleted

If you know a file has been removed for alleged copyright infringement, please don't re-upload it, unless you are sure to have acquired a license allowing free distribution and feel prepared to do a counter notice (which will require you to reveal your identity to the take down notice issuer (sic)).

Frequently repeated re-uploads and takedown notices will only upset the copyright owners and make them ask to disable member accounts for repeated infringements, something I think we all have interest to avoid, if possible.

That said, there are other reasons to remove a torrent, such as duplicate, dead or bad playback, etc …
