    • RE: Reseed request please :(

      The uploader never bothered to seed this, when he upoaded it back in January, so… it can't be "reseeded".

      I left a comment, as can you, asking him if he's ever going to get around to seeding it... and I sent him a PM also.

      Let's see if he responds.

      He DID log in here 8 hours ago... so it's possible...

    • RE: What were the offending topics that were removed recently?

      Hi, Fisto

      I think the main point was that the entire list of recent / most popular topics… was just removed from the home page...

      Members getting offended and feeling hurt or insulted by ongoing conversations and responses... is a daily occurrence, in the forum... things often seem to get QUITE HEATED, in the forum, as evidenced by the amazing number of forum topics that members feel compelled to report to staff, for one reason or another.

      And after getting recent complaints of this nature, the owner decided the forum (including the listing of most recent/popular topics) was best to stay on the forum side of the site, and leave the main home page... to the interest of porn...

      That's what I'm thinking, anyway!  :love:

      @pppucci:

      @Pawpcorn:

      What do you think of this idea?

      It is a great idea, and inspired me to think it through further.  The video description is available immediately on the source website, as are a few good screenshots.  Whilst the video is downloading, I can prepare the upload on the upload on the Upload Page and as soon as the video completes downloading, create the torrent in my client and complete the upload process.  I cant think of any way  of doing it any faster.
      Thanks again for your help.

      Sounds GOOD TO ME, and a terrific consolidation of my earlier thinking… Good luck on following through on this plan, and you could post an update to this new procedure (as to how it's actually working out), here in this forum...

    • RE: Reporting Duplicates

      @pppucci:

      I have another question regarding duplicates as this has happened to me a couple of times, including yesterday.  [….]
      Do I need to search for the video torrent with the "including dead" option to see if someone created the torrent and is not yet seeding it?

      First off, kudos for your thorough efforts in trying to avoid uploading duplicates.

      Direct to your question, YES, I think that's a terrific idea, just prior to uploading, "to search for the video torrent with the "including dead" option to see if someone created the torrent and is not yet seeding it".

      As an aside, and to expand your thinking and concerns… that's somewhat of a bitch of a situation, where being conscientious and thorough in creating a terrific presentation... results in you getting "beaten" (in that race to upload a new video), by another member, HUH!?.

      In that vein (of just HOW to be the "winner" of that race to be the first uploader...) What to do??  Could I make some suggestions?

      First off, I noticed your uploads usually just include 10 pictures... So I think the following ideas could work for you:

      1. You COULD just upload the bare-bones version of the torrent presentation, to start with. This gets the upload date and time established.

      2. Then, (to avoid your upload being reported by other members for missing description and pictures, [remotely] risking loss of your Auto-Approval Rights) ASAP!!! Repeatedly EDIT your upload…

      3. ADD a GOOD description… and...

      4. for starters, maybe add just ONE good picture... NOW, you've followed the basic rules. THEN, you can take your time creating screen-caps, and then (AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID OTHER MEMBERS UPLOADING PICTURES BEFORE YOU)..

      5. ADD ALL your lovely pictures... perhaps even deleting the original picture you had uploaded, earlier. NOTE that pictures added via editing your torrent will be added in reverse order to the way they are shown in the final torrent presentation; thus LAST picture added… will be the FIRST picture displayed.

      What do you think of this idea?

      If you needed help deleting sub-par pictures already added to your torrent prior to YOU being able to upload good pictures, [on a limited basis, please] you could PM me, and I'll review your torrent presentation pictures, and edit (delete sub-par pictures) as needed.

      @pppucci:

      @Pawpcorn:

      The account he deleted by accident was revived, his running ratio was transferred to the revived account, and then this most recent account (from which he made this request, both here and on the helpdesk) was banned.

      SOP: Multiple accounts are merged to ONE account, and all the other accounts are banned (not "deleted")

      Take care,
      Pawpcorn
      GTRU Staff

      Thank you for the clarification.  When I read the site rules "Only one account is allowed per Internet Protocol address and user. Attempts to create multiple accounts will trigger our monitoring system that immediately terminates both accounts.", I assumed the offender was banned for life.

      Yes, well, your confusion is understandable, since the rules you quoted… might best be considered "Legacy Rules" dating back to the early days, when things ran differently.

      In the very early days, prior to the Sysop's creation of the "Dupe Warrior" software (for detecting multiple account cheaters) there were those rules you quoted... and members got penalized if sharing the same IP address.

      Two main points there are actually obsolete, and not correct:

      1. Same IP is OK and
      2. Accounts aren't "...immediately terminated" {which SOUNDS scary, but then maybe that's the point to that, eh?)  :police: :afr:

      To explore this deeper... more than one member can show up using the same IP...

      1. AT DIFFERENT TIMES: Since most home DSL modem IPs are DYNAMIC (IPs changing often, like daily, or when rebooted) as opposed to being STATIC (a fixed IP, as often used in businesses) it will often appear that two members have the same IP, although not at the same exact time. This is due to the "recycling" effect of the limited number of IP addresses... one member can pick up the SAME IP address that another member has released (AFTER LOGGING OFF), via the daily forced "reboot" or recycle that the DSL modem undergoes automatically... or manually. These accounts are "flagged" (see #2 below)

      2. AT THE SAME TIME: Taken one step further... in the same household, two members, both with their own personal computer, may share the same Internet connection, IE share the same IP. These accounts get "flagged" by the site... and staff, happening to see the flagged account, may manually take a closer look to see if there is actually a case of multiple accounts (cheating violation) in play... and (IF CLEARLY CHEATING) that same staff member may MANUALLY put both (cheating) accounts into Warned Status (unable to browse / upload / download) which automatically sends a PM to both accounts with instructions on how to resolve this (merge both / ban one / restore one)

      However… two accounts with the same IP address... if not set up with the intent of cheating (IE TWO DIFFERENT MEMBERS), is 100% OK, no problem, and permitted.

      THE PROBLEM arises… like in the case of roommates...? where one member decides one day, out of the blue, to log in to the system, using his roommate's computer. THAT is ONE situation where the automatic Dupe Warrior protection software kicks in, and BOTH accounts get Warned Status, PM sent, etc.
      In THIS ONE ACCIDENTAL situation… select staff (equipped with Dupe Warrior Tools) must be alerted, via HelpDesk, with explanations as to the TRUTH and reality of what has happened, and only then, can BOTH accounts be MANUALLY restored to normal status, with full restoration and full normalization.

      The OTHER situation, of deliberate MULTIPLE ACCOUNT CHEATING is the situation where a member tries to log in to the site with TWO accounts, on the same computer. Here again, the automatic Dupe Warrior protection software kicks in, and BOTH accounts get Warned Status, PM sent, etc. If the member follows the advice in the PM... the member can resolve the Multiple Accounts situation himself, without needing to involve staff. Unfortunately, only (maybe) half the members (getting this instructional PM) manage to be able follow the instructions themselves, (for various reasons) creating a rather constant and frequent workload to select staff to provide resolution of the situation...

      Note too, then, that ANYONE, as a member, can have any number of computers, notebooks, tablets, smartphones at home, ALL able to use the SAME (SINGLE) account, even at the same time, at any time, on any or all devices. THAT IS 100% OK.

      In the original opening thread… the member got the automated ADVICE-TO-RESOLVE PM, and FOLLOWED the instructions... but after he (merged and) closed the older account... he then discovered that he'd lost his "Wish List" of his original account... and thus, he requested select staff assistance to reverse his actions, once he realized his error. He should have just written the helpdesk, rather than plead his case in the forum, since it's not at all guaranteed that staff will see every forum topic... and be able to resolve it, from that source.
      Writing the Helpdesk is the right way, eh?

      Apologies if this seemed overly wordy, lengthy, complex, or obtuse; As a former Video/Software/Computer/Network engineer, it's difficult for me to give some simple summary; my mind doesn't quite work that way, plus it seemed you were likely interested in the minutia of the situation, especially considering the erroneous nature of the obsolete Rules Statements that you quoted, eh? :cheesy2: ... I thought you might find this interesting... and it DID manage to get my mind off the Trump "presidency" for this short time, lol.

      proXPN is a terrific VPN; made it able to connect up here back in the days of my 3bb nightmare. I think I paid about $40 for a year, and there are promotions on that, if you search the internet

      https://couponfollow.com/site/proxpn.com  here's a 62% discount coupon.
      and more:  https://www.google.com/search?q=proxpn+promotions

      TRUE has a pretty bad reputation all around, and often has connection problems via old phone lines / shoddy installation / infamous Thai "good-enough!" installation philosophy.

      SO VERY HAPPY with my TOT fiber up here in Phan Don, Kumphawapi, 35km south of Udon Thani…

      Right now, it's 10:30 pm (so still gaming time, eh?) and speed test shows 53.7Mbps down, and 19.2Mbps up, and this costing 750 Baht a month (plus VAT)... just fantastic, almost too good to be true. This was a TOT promotion that was included in my first mailed bill.

      Sticking with your current ISP... for the sake of the one year contract??? I understand your thinking, but perhaps (as I did) if you can prove to them that their service sucks and you can't access GTRU, even when you have their (so-called) "service engineers" come visit you at home... you may be able to escape some or all of that contract.

      Even if you CAN'T get out from that cursed contract (is there a Thai agency you can call for help in dealing with this???) the peace of mind from being able to have HIGH-SPEED-PORN (LOL) is not to be underestimated.

    • RE: Which torrent software is best for upload?

      Since seems you need to look for a torrent client programs, have a look at this help link:
      http://www.howtogeek.com/197542/the-4-best-alternatives-to-utorrent-on-windows/

      … in particular, I'd suggest scrolling down and reading "uTorrent 2.2.1: a Junk-Free Version of uTorrent That’s Old and Out of Date"

      As for choosing a torrent client, may I suggest the above mentioned classic version of uTorrent?

      It's faster and more stable than all the later versions of uTorrent and WITHOUT THE ADVERTISING MALWARE in the current versions.

      By using uTorrent, you would be able to use our QTM program to automate any torrent uploads you might like to do, in the future!

      It's also the preferred and recommended version, by staff, here on GTRU.

      I happen to have BOTH Vuze and uTorrent installed on my computer; they coexist without conflict. I use Vuze for downloading the latest Hollywood blockbusters, since Vuze is set to ignore the methods the studios use to make these (NEW MOVIES) torrent downloads crawl along at a snails pace. Utorrent is best for working with our Porn torrents, however.

      Download the 2.2.1 build 25302 uTorrent install program from here

      (  http://www.oldapps.com/utorrent.php?old_utorrent=8134?download   )

      Place the utorrent.exe file you downloaded anywhere.

      Run the utorrent.exe program file.

      Accept the default setup, and Accept all defaults.
      UNCHECK "Yes, I'd love to check out this free download" for "The Tunnel" movie, if this appears.
      Click YES to approval for program install

      This will install the older version of uTorrent, and it will take care of everything needed.

      Start uTorrent.

      Go to the settings in Options / Preferences /  General and UNcheck the "Check for Updates Automatically" setting.

      Set up your Columns.  I would suggest you activate certain columns in your torrent client, so as to keep a close eye on each torrent statistics, in the future. You can right-click in the column headings and choose additional columns to be able to view.

      I personally recommend, from left to right, "Name", "Size", "Done", "Added on", "Status", "Completed", "Down Speed", "Up Speed", "Seeds", "Peers", "ETA", and Tracker" as essential information and sort-columns.

      You activate these headings by right-clicking on the headings, and selecting and de-selecting your headings, as needed. You can also re-size the headings, by clicking and holding down on the right side of the heading, and dragging it a little bit to the left. You can change the order, simply by dragging the column heading left or right.

      Success!!! You should be able to upload and download videos from GayTorrent.ru now, without any problems.

      Good luck,

    • RE: Can't download - still finding peers

      YUP, this issue was investigated in some great depth, and it happened to affect ME, personally, as Staff; I couldn't access our lovely GTRU site some days…and COULD, on other days, thanks to the inept technical staff at the 3bb ISP company.

      The link to the forum topic "Why some IP address from Thailand cannot go to GTRU" is HERE:
      https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=43488.0

      Short term immediate fix was to invest in a VPN (I used the paid version of proXPN), which provided the access to the site, to perform staff functions RELIABLY, EVERY DAY, but, as you noted, had the problems with torrent speed, which was to be expected.

      LONG TERM FIX was to switch to the TOT ISP, and I chose the high-speed fibre promotion options, which for about 100 Baht more per month than I was paying 3bb, resulted in about 20 times faster access / download speed, with consistent reliability (aside from ONE outage).

      I've grown to have complete and utter disrespect for the folks at 3bb... since repeated calls for help PLUS an ON-SITE-VISIT resulted in "shrugs of the shoulders" along with "Gee, we don't know what's going on, or WHY this is happening..." EVEN WHEN supplied by the data printout from our Staff Memeber MrMazda, which showed EXACTLY where their failure was occurring.

      Good luck on resolving this; switch to TOT; you won't regret the decision.

      @richardg8092:

      And a big THANK YOU from me too, Pawpcorn.
      Was so sick of waking up to find that the 'new better improved' version of uTorrent would eat up to 80% of my RAM overnight and everything else ran slow as a result.
      You've saved the day! :love:
      R

      Thank you for the kind words!!! You "neglected" to mention the damned MALWARE that the current versions install… which is what got me here, in the first place...  :crazy2:
      @Pawpcorn:

      Back when I was getting plagued with all the damn internet shopping sites popping up out of the blue… it took me a LONG time to finally figure out that I hadn't gotten infected with some awful Trojan/virus... but it was actually uTorrent causing all the havoc...

      THEN when I went searching for ways to defeat this... and saw that downgrading was the ONLY solution... I started searching for what was considered the MOST stable (last of the best) versions of uTorrent, which turned out to be 2.2.1 build 25302.

      Point of the story is... when I was doing this research, I came upon one guy's comment that in all his experience of searching for various fixes for various software packages... he had NEVER before SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE perform "searches" for "Downgrade _________" as in the case of uTorrent...

      and his point was... with THAT many people "in the same boat" of being totally disgusted with uTorrent's so-called "stable" release... that THAT FACT ALONE should send a message to the uTorrent people to do away with the insidious ADWARE in their product!!!

      They NEVER DID, tho, and they always avoided or evaded the topic in their so-called "helpdesk"... and that, in itself says something about the company, itself.

      @bolleroux:

      Thanks, I was able to installed utorrent 221 but the problem is when I upload files using "quick torrent maker" after it gives popup "upload complete" it will automatically open the utorrent 344 instead of utorrent 221. thus, the upload always fail. what is the best way to get rid the utorrent 344?

      I think you'll need to run the UNINSTALL program for QuickTorentMaker… then download the QTM install program again, and THIS time... in the box for where your uTorrent program resides... point to the new, CURRENT location for your 2.2.1 uTorrent .exe program.

      Mine happens to be at:  "C:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe"

      You can right-click on the uTorrent program in your taskbar... and select Properties... to see the actual location for uTorrent.exe on your computer.

      Good luck, and sorry for being so tardy on replying to your post.

      Well, ok that's an interesting question on an item I never researched.

      Doing first some math, then looking closer at the videos here for upload, it would seem that the formula is about 1 seed point (per 24 hours) for every 5.095 MB in file size.

      Are these 5 TB of porn videos the results of having downloading, via torrents?

      If so, all you'd have to do is run a force check on the entire (selected) group of torrents…. videos that don't pass the 100% check test would be corrupt. (Select the entire batch of torrents to check, right-click, and chose "force check". This would test ALL the videos, in ONE batch.)

      This test would work regardless of whether or not the torrent is still seeded, since the .torrent file really contains the sum check of every byte in the video file.

      IF THE TORRENT was still being seeded (lucky you!) you could download the missing parts... and achieve 100% integrity.
