On one hand, I would not watch a soft porn movie/TV show with bad actors, a crappy script/plot, and low production values. In that scenario there's nothing to enjoy about it as the main draw is the soft porn, which is useless seeing as how we have actual hardcore porn with with all those same elements (including the faked sex and orgasm).

On the other hand, I would definitely watch a movie/TV show where the acting, storylines, and production values are the most important features, but they often take scenes into TV-MA/NC-17 territory, showing full nudity, erections, and the occasional hole.

Since I have a 4K TV, I generally prefer videos in at least 1080p resolution and won't go below 720p unless the video is rare or vintage. Regardless, resolution doesn't matter all that much anyway once my eyeballs are covered in lube.

I'll see some videos here that are 3 GB to 6 GB for about an hour's worth of play.  My computer will not play these properly.  They will stutter or pixilate.  Sometimes the sound will get out of synch with the speaking.  I find it unwatchable.

Personally, I think that happens because the videos were not encoded properly and/or weren't originally high resolution in the first place. I sometimes come across torrents where the uploader has "remastered/re-encoded/upscaled" a 500MB-1GB video, bloating the file size to 3-6GBs for ratio farming while claiming the video is FHD (or that they've masterfully upscaled from 480p to HD/FHD).

The majority of my friends are straight (but not narrow :cool2:). I would say that the dynamic is different from your experience though, because I tend to make friends with couples. That allows me to enjoy both masculine and feminine friendships within the same circles. I couldn't imagine myself being happy in only having gay friends.

I've used Kodi, and have also tried Plex and Emby.
While the tech-futurist in me still longs to have that '10-foot Experience' where my porn is all flash with a sexy UI and easily accessible via remote, the organization it takes to maintain it always leaves me asking "??? To What End? ???"  
The FUN part of it is setting up the UI, but my collection is LARGE and not very organized (unless you count chronological organization by download date ;)), so adding the metadata has always been the biggest pain. I've found numerous apps that allow me to add manual metadata, but none of the Gay scrapers have worked all that well for anything beyond Adult DVDs.

On that note, I would LOVE IT (hint hint) if GT.ru could make their metadata/pics available from the torrent pages as an adult scraper for members local server setup. THAT WOULD BE AMAZING!  :cheers:

What I'm really hoping for is an app that combines the UI and convenience of Netflix and Spotify… for my porn collection. I'd love to be able to have the app just index my porn drives auto-categorize everything by keyword or studio name, and then present it in an organized fashion.

KODI: Kodi was my first attempt at curating a "Porn Netflix' app. It's the environment I understand best, and has the largest number of UI skins. Setup for porn and/or random videos has always been difficult in XBMC/Kodi, and I find the renaming and folder restructuring requirements to be tedious. Kodi's directory setup allows me to just add my drives of videos, but since 80% of the files don't have official IMDB/TV scraper metadata, it just lists everything as files, which is not very exciting.

PLEX: As I understand it, Plex is supposed to be better with metadata and setting up a seamless non-Movie/TV video experience. I've actually suggested Plex to other people as a viable server/streamer, but still have trouble with it setting it up for myself. Also, I haven't found a UI skin that I really like for Plex, but I like that I can ((attempt to)) stream to the Plex app on my Xbox One.

EMBY: I haven't done all that much with Emby since they require a monthly subscription for anything beyond setup and adding metadata. Their skins are ports from Kodi, and yet they've got that feature behind a paywall. That's fucking crazy.

Do you know of any app/tool that allows you to search for video files and then lets you update or assign metadata/ratings/studio for multiple files at a time?

Well, first thing is that you should not go out and get a metal cock ring or ball stretcher until you know what size you're most comfortable with. I don't think Gay Anthems are truly part of our holistic identity so much as they are a generational trend that has faded out along with Circuit Parties, Tribal Tattoos, and the Queer As Folk aesthetic. Personally, I also think that mainstream has actually drifted more towards us, and so in reality, it just feels less unique/special/subversive than it did in prior decades.

For me, it's a tie between Cloverfield and The Happening.

Archived Favorite Scenes

• For studios I'm majorly into, I keep their older favorite scenes archived in a specific folder named with that studio.
• For older scenes that are more random/not from a favorite studio, I keep them in a genre folder, generally organized by type of guy or scene.
• I keep full movies in a separate movies folder, and vintage movies in a vintage folder

Recent Scenes

• I make monthly video playlists, so more "Recent" stuff is just organized chronologically.

Moving Files
Since my primary way of recalling a scene is via chronological order, it's usually pretty important to me to maintain the "created date" when I transfer files to a new hard drive. For this reason, I Robocopy everything over to new drive very carefully.

It felt like it belonged there.
