@manrmen-0 yes... megadoses of testosterone literally turn one's heart to stone. Randy "Macho Man" Poffo lived about 1/2 mile from me.. and had his fatal heart attack whlle driving his jeep about 1 mile from me. He was juicing up to prepare for an anticipated match against Hulk Hogan. Juicing heavily put the kabosh on The Ultimate Warrior Jim Hellwig also.. who juiced up heavily to make an appearance to enter the WWE Hall of Fame and died the next day! Going the other way, I wonder how much estrogen has been injected into Michael Obama?
yep. which is why even though I'm gay, I do not like the idea of giving little girls testosterone at such a young age. But somehow, I'm transphobic for having such an idea.
The opposite is also true for estrogen. In males, estrogen has a growth effect to smooth muscles like blood vessels. Females need this as estrogen helps in the vascularization of the uterine lining to prepare for the attaching of a fertilized ovum or the lining (endometrium) sloughs off in what we usually call menstruation.
Since males don't have uteruses, estrogen will thicken blood vessels instead and cause a lot of problems which could include hypertension to something as bad as macular degeneration. Imagine a healthy 15 year old male getting estrogen.
Our body has it's own fine tuning on how much hormones it needs normally. These hormone drugs are usually fixed doses with no regulation. So, a kid may have a larger dose or lower dose than normal.Either are not healthy for a child that's still supposed to go through puberty and pre-adulthood maturation.
But yeah, apparently, I'm transphobic.
However, if a person is already a full adult, finished with puberty and still wants to transition, I won't stop them. They're already adults to decide and deal with the possible side effects.
