Over the course of today one user (I assume) has attempted to upload and seed around 15 torrents, all themed on twinks including videos from both studios and fan sites such as OF. I have seen, and can still see, many uploads on the site featuring the same studios and performers. Every single one seems to have been removed from the site, often within 30 minutes of being added.
I can appreciate that DMCA requests must be taken seriously and acted upon, but it seems suspicious that so many torrents from (what I assume is) a single user, spanning such a range of studios and independent performers should be jumped on so quickly. It does raise the question of whether or not this is a disgruntled user simple being a bit of an ass.
My question is if a DMCA request is received what is the actual process for removing the torrent? Does the claimant need to show that they are indeed the copyright owner? Is there a due diligence process that is followed to verify that the takedown request is legitimate? If not then presumably anyone could spam the site with random DMCA requests, decimating the list of available material.
I'm not looking to complain and start an argument over this. It's just genuine curiosity. I completely understand that the site needs to err on the side of caution in order to protect itself, but I just wonder if someone is abusing the system.
