Rosie O'Donnell didn't get the memo on Kathy Griffin.. but then again, Rosie's personal and professional lives couldn't get any worse, so suggesting that people throw Trump off a cliff can't hurt her.

As for crazy John McCain, he has been officially diagnosed with brain cancer.  I'm not sure about a senator, but if a president was diagnosed with brain cancer, he would be replaced.

I feel like there should be a law against this….even for the President.  For all we know that translator could be a Hillary Clinton operative looking to take Trump down.

I would suggest dropping this Trump / Russia garbage.  It is just a distraction and irrelevant.  Just take a moment to think about it.. there is nothing to it other than an attempt by the democrats to seek an impeachment of Trump.  That is not going to happen.  It is damned near impossible to impeach a president - and since the house and senate are controlled by the republicans, it's not going to happen (nor should it even be considered).

Can't you find something better to debate other than lick the sweat from Don Lemon's vagina and Rachel Maddow's balls?

Trump didn't claim that the meeting didn't happen. He is claiming that he media knew about the meeting when it happened. How on earth would a huge piece of information like that be kept a secret for so long? Does that make any sense to you at all?

I am really tired of all this Russia crap.  It's interesting that Russia is one of the few countries in the world that the USA has never had a war with.  I sure would prefer to have Russia as an ally then those monstrous Chinese bas****s.  (can't say tard).

So you think that him doing nothing on ObamaCare is an accomplishment? How many times did he promise to repeal it IMMEDIATELY?

Anyone can do nothing. I'm doing it right now.

The issue of Obamacare is not under the control of Trump.  That is under the control of Congress.  The only thing Trump can do is veto what Congress comes up with.

Exactly. We need all three. We do need single payer. I'm glad we agree on something.

I hope you realize that a significant number of people will oppose any changes - even if they benefit them - just out of fear.
That Obamacare is a failure.  I'm afraid that it must be either repealed before it collapses completely, or - as it looks like what will actually happen - is that it will collapse completely.  In cold political terms.. I think the number of people who would be thrilled to not be required to purchase health care plans that they don't want  outnumber the people who would be pissed off about it.

One more thing to consider.. the VA system of healthcare is a disaster.  That being the case, why should we expect that the federal government can manage healthcare for the entire population?  The federal government.. and really all levels of government.. are terrible at managing anything.  This country was built upon the premise of free-markets and competition.  When you impose subsidies, grants, insurance, etc.  The whole system fails.

I really don't know why they don't encourage more Medicaid waivers.  My state has had one since the Clinton administration (and renewed it just before Obama left office until 2020).  This gives power to the states which they claim to want even though only a handful of them created their own ACA exchanges.  It gives states more flexibility to design healthcare plans that they can feel all warm and fuzzy about.

Pence got a waiver too and they did something a little different in his state in regards to the Medicaid expansion population.  I personally don't like it but at least they did something.   It's still better than nothing.

Actually, you hit upon something very significant.  Health care costs vary tremendously state to state.  Therefore, it only makes sense to have each state have it's own health care system.
Here's something that annoys me… It costs about $2200 per eye to have laser treatment on them.. which only takes less than a minute to perform.  It costs roughly $2000 to replace a tooth, and there are no discounts for multiple teeth.
My point being.. there is no end to the amount of money that can be sucked up by healthcare.
Before they start giving healthcare away to everybody.. they should first get healthcare costs under control.  I have a great example for that..  there was this guy who bought the rights to an AIDS medication..  and decided to raise the price from $13.50 per pill to $750 per pill.  That is a markup of 5600%  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Shkreli

    • Trump has accomplished nothing.. really?

The moonbats are constantly celebrating how Trump is not getting anything done.. but is that correct?

He got his temporary travel ban…  WIN!
It appears as though there will be no replacement to Obamacare..  but they won't bail it out either.. so instead of having another crappy federal healthcare program... it will be back to the way it was in 2008 before Osamacare. If the republicans had gotten a plan, that would have failed also.  No federal plan forces lower health care costs..  WIN!
Whenever the tax cut plan comes up.. it will pass easily on republican votes alone.. and it will have a great effect upon the economy - WIN!
Even now, the Supreme Court is tilting a bit conservative.  By the time Trump is out of office, he will have filled 3 or 4 liberal leaning Supreme Court Justices with conservatives.. = conservative Supreme Court for the next 20 years or more..  and it will be extremely difficult to get an abortion when they repeal Roe vs Wade  - and they can't blame that on Trump, because the Supreme Court decides that..  WIN!

What else would you expect Trump to do which he won't get done?

Meanwhile.. what did Obama ever accomplish in his entire 8 year regime?  You might be thinking "gay marriage"  but you would be wrong.. that is a state issue.  You might be thinking marijuana.. you would be wrong.. that is also a state issue - and is still illegal on the federal level.  Most people have no idea that Obama's vice president Joe BI nla DEN successfully had a marijuana kingpin - Juan Raul Garza - executed when he was the #1 guy in Congress.  That guy was the first federal execution sentence in decades.. the 2nd one was Timothy McVeigh.  (they wound up being executed in the same month)

I wonder why they would have a meeting like this?

On a serious note…is this common?  Does the President of the Unites States EVER take a meeting with a foreign leader (or anyone else) ALL BY HIMSELF?  It seems strange to me.

I doubt anything nefarious was happening. I imagine most of the meeting was just Trump talking about the millions of people at his inauguration and the fact that Americans love him so much.

      @Spintendo:

U.S. Warship Stayed on Deadly Collision Course Despite Warning - Says Container Ship Captain
      Reuters
      June 26, 2017

TOKYO - A U.S. warship struck by a container vessel in Japanese waters failed to respond to warning signals or take evasive action before a collision that killed seven of its crew, according to a report of the incident by the Philippine cargo ship's captain. Multiple U.S. and Japanese investigations are under way into how the guided missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald and the much larger ACX Crystal container ship collided in clear weather south of Tokyo Bay in the early hours of June 17.

In the first detailed account from one of those directly involved, the cargo ship's captain said the ACX Crystal had signaled with flashing lights after the Fitzgerald "suddenly" steamed on to a course to cross its path. The Crystal steered hard to starboard to avoid the destroyer, but hit the Fitzgerald 10 minutes later at 1:30 a.m.

The Fitzgerald sustained damage to its starboard side in the collision, which initially trapped the commanding officer in his quarters. The time of the collision remained murky in the days following the fatal collision. The Navy initially placed the time of collision at 2:20 a.m. local time. Japanese coast guard officials later revised the time of the collision to 1:30 a.m. after interviewing Crystal crew, last week.

A tracking of the Crystal's route by the vessel-tracking service MarineTraffic showed the massive container ship made a sudden turn as if trying to avoid something at about 1:30 a.m. before continuing eastward and making a U-turn before returning to the collision area at about 2:30 a.m., the AP reported. As several U.S., Japanese and Philippine investigations into the crash get underway, what remains unclear is how the hulking cargo ship was able to get that close to the advanced, Arleigh Burke-class Fitzgerald.

Thanks for that update… it is a very strange story.
Here is something that bothers me... if that cargo ship was trying to EVADE the destroyer, that should have been quite easy to do with 10 minutes to work with.  The slightest change in course over a span of 10 minutes should have been plenty to avoid a collision.  On the other hand,  the change of course is suspicious.  if that cargo ship made a course change 10 minutes before impact and hit the destroyer.. I would assume that if the cargo ship didn't make that course change that it would have MISSED the destroyer.  Could it be that the cargo ship intentionally made a course change to ram the destroyer?
I don't think all the information is being revealed.

Yeah! Why support the American citizens when you can build up the military industrial complex!

      http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-defense-congress-idUSKBN19Z1XG

"Underscoring bipartisan support for higher defense spending in Congress, 117 Democrats joined 227 Republicans in backing the measure. Only eight Republicans and 73 Democrats voted no."

Looks like Trump and the Republicans are gearing up for the next major U.S. war. And his supporters will support him no matter how many lives are lost.

Sadly, that is necessary.. mainly due to Sheik Obama.
As many people will remember, Barack Hussein Obama (aka Barry Soetoro) pledged to have all the troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq within his first year in office in 2008.  Well, it's 2017 - and they are still there.  Then, ISIS was created and spread like a cancer across the world under the watch of Obama.  Then, Obama allowed North Korea to develop ICBMs and nuclear weapons…  So now, Trump is forced to either ramp up the military to take care of North Korea, or allow California to get nuked.  I personally expect North Korea to smuggle a dirty nuke into the massive shipping port of California, and detonate it - disrupting trade globally.
Oh, another thing Obama did.. he virtually killed off NASA.  Under Obama, no more space shuttle program, nothing to replace it, and nothing done during his 8 year regime in the area of space.
Let's not forget that Obama's home town of Chicago was a virtual war zone during his regime - which he ignored.  Also.. don't forget how Mr. Obama and his supposed dedication to the environment and health allowed the massive city of Flint Michigan to have water so contaminated with lead that it was undrinkable.. and when discovered, did nothing.

Something you said caught my eye…  you are saying that the Republican's plan is "MEAN" to poor people.
How's this for being mean?  Obamacare REQUIRES everybody to purchase health insurance.  The premise is that the people who don't need or use the insurance will subsidize those that do.  Is that fair?  Seems to me.. requiring people making minimum wage to purchase health insurance is mean.

The moonbats are extremely short sighted. They want their precious free healthcare and other giveaways.. but they ignore the present and the future.

The population of the planet is growing at an exponential rate.  Each additional person is that much more pollution and CO2 emissions. So much for their bitching about "global warming".
The national debt is now $10 trillion.. oops.. correction.. the accumulated debt for the first 43 presidents was $10 Trillion… #44 (Obama) raised that to $20 trillion.  That is $64,000 for every person in the USA!  Supposedly, Social Security will be bankrupt in 13 years, and Medicaid in 15 years.

People need to worry about having food to eat, and water to drink.. not healthcare to pay for their addictions.  70% of americans are taking prescription psychiatric medications.  More like 95% are taking booze, and illegal drugs.

When are you moonbats going to wake up?    Oh, I forgot.. you don't give a fuck.

There isn't much information.. but look at what I found on CNN just now:  "McConnell said in a statement late Monday that the Senate would vote in the coming days on a bill that would delay the repeal of Obamacare for two years"
My interpretation of that is the Senate would have to pass a bill to prevent the repeal of Obamacare for 2 years.  Is that your understanding also?   I can't imagine that any republican would vote to delay the repeal.  That would be political suicide.  Also, if that is a bill, Trump could veto it.. and Trump has said as recently as TODAY that he wants Obamacare repealed NOW - with the reasoning that once it is repealed, it will force democrats to cooperate on replacement healthcare legislation.

Nope. ACA has majority consensus approval and even when you call it ObamaCare, it still has majority approval. A repeal vote will satisfy the Republican base but will awaken a ton of people who otherwise checked out of politics recently. Something similar to this happened in 2006. People checked out and stayed away during the 2004 presidential election, Republicans had some significant missteps and a large number of people got pissed over those missteps and turned out in large numbers giving Democrats a sweeping victory. Repealing the ACA will no doubt awaken millions. Also, just the threat of taking away those Medicaid funds being used to help fight the opioid crisis in counties the president won is not a good look at all. Saying that there will be a delay also won't help them. All everyone will hear from Republicans and the president is, "I am going to take away what you currently have and replace it with nothing and I do not care that you are battling opioid addiction." Period.

Before I get to my reply.. I would like to touch on the "opiod" issue.  I have seen people on opiods going through withdrawals.  They are in AGONY and they claim it feels like their bones are going to explode.  They would do absolutely anything to get more opiods, and every one of them I asked said they would use them again as soon as they could get their hands on them.  I'm wondering how they got hooked on opiods to begin with.

Anyway.. back to my message.. what are they talking about in having a bill to delay the repeal of Obamacare for 2 years?   Also, Obamacare is on a death spiral.  I believe it is in September that many of the policies premiums will rise another 14%

Lastly.. you mention that millions of people will be pissed about losing their handouts.  I would be pissed too!
BUT.. there are also millions of healthy people who do not want to be forced to buy health insurance.  Why should they be forced to pay for something they don't want?    Should people who don't own a car be forced to buy car insurance?  Should people who don't own a home be forced to buy home insurance?  Why should people who are healthy be forced to pay for health insurance?

Frankly, healthcare is a no win situation.

Since you like to post somewhat obscene/provocative content here, I can only image what you posted on your FB account.

Also, I don't see the political angle here, nor the debate, I guess this is just another rant, allowed by our moderator for obvious reasons.

And Frederick, if you don't like Facebook, nobody is forcing you to use it, I personally don't have a FB account, and likely never will. There are also plenty of alternatives that may suit your needs.

      \

      Not quite dear.
Facebook does not follow it's own policies - which is a legal problem.
If they were a non-profit, they could get away with quite a bit, but they are far from being non-profit.
They do illegal things, such as asking for full social security numbers for identification.
When one operates a store, they can't exclude people they don't like.  Facebook is doing what Myspace did.  And frankly.. also what Flirt4Free and Cam4 did..    they keep tacking on more rules and piss people off - driving them  away.  This is why Chaturbate has dominated Flirt4Free and Cam4.

Specific to my recent problems with Facebook.  I did nothing wrong.  I operate a group that has 500 members, and some of those members hate me.  They want to shut down my group.  That is impossible for reasons I won't divulge.  But, they keep trying, and they make complaints en masse, much the way the moonbats in this group keep making complaints, even summoning Joker out of his retreat in Mt. I know of 3 major GTRU members who got the axe within the past year.  Maybe you can be #4.  Flozen #5.  Aadam101 #6.

As for me, if any staff of GTRU ask me to stop posting in the forums, I will, because I am not about to lose my membership to this site as a result of these forums.  I post in the forums to educate and share my wisdom.  If it is not welcome, then I have no problem departing the forums.

      http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/342447-two-more-gop-senators-defect-on-healthcare-bill

I personally think you may be correct, but I don't think you get the implications.
Obamacare is a massive failure and doomed to collapse completely.  It is already "terminally ill".
The assumption was that the republicans would come up with a replacement plan.. but frankly, there is no plan that is going to make people happy.  The underlying reason for that is whenever something is insured, the cost increase to take advantage of the insurance payouts - making it virtually impossible for anybody without insurance to get healthcare.  A simple example of this is with cars.  The costs for auto repairs are completely different when paid "out of pocket" vs paid "by insurance".
So, there is no magical health care plan that is going to work.
The democrats have no plan to fix Obamacare.
The republican plan won't work either.
Many republicans would rather just let Obamacare collapse and not offer another healthcare plan.

Socialized medicine only works in countries such as Cuba.. where health care costs are very low.  Doctors work for low wages, and it is next to impossible to sue a doctor for malpractice.  It's like that old lesbian expression:  "You can't eat Kate and Edith too!"

      So, the choices are:
Repeal Obamacare - resulting in going back to pre-Obama healthcare.
Repeal and replace Obamacare - resulting in temporarily offering a republican version of healthcare which will also fail - which eventually results in going back to pre-Obama healthcare.
Doing nothing - resulting in Obamacare's inevitable collapse - with nothing to replace it other than returning to pre-Obama healthcare.

Politically, don't forget that Trump is not really a republican.  He's not in bed with any political machine.

      The end result:
Healthcare will return to pre-Obama healthcare
Republicans will lose control of congress, however Trump will get his tax cut in his first term.
Trump will win re-election in 2020.. and during those 8 years, he will pack the Supreme Court with conservative judges which will last for decades.  (Goodbye "Roe vs Wade")
The economy will do extremely well due to Trump, and when it comes down to it.. people care more about the economy when they go to the voting booths more than anything else.
In Trump's second term, I doubt he will be able to get any meaningful legislation out of congress.  Congress might come up with some lame democrat backed healthcare bill, but Trump will just veto it.

The losers - the democrat party, the republican party, people with health problems, women who want abortions
The winners - Trump, the economy, healthy people, people with money to invest, workers

This message is unusual for me in that it is my OPINION instead of irrefutable facts.
I am very interested to see any other opinions.
The only other opinion I see so far is RoyalCrown seeking to retain Obamacare - but I would then ask RC if he thinks Obamacare can work without being revised.  Obamacare is going down like the Titanic - and THAT is not an opinion.
