      Weinstein was OK.. but then became corrupted by hanging around deplorable crooked Hillary.

      He was a sleaze long before he met them. I lived in Hollywood. Film was my major and so I did a lot of internships. The rumors in office/set were always that you could use sex to advance with certain people. Brian Singer was often talked about in the club scene way back in the 90's, too. This doesn't surprise me. I'm wondering who had the balls to start this – that man has a lot of power.

      Whenever evaluating a dispute, one should look at both sides of the issue.  Far too often, there is a rush to judgement which favors the most obvious explanations.  For instance, in the murder case I sometimes refer to, that case was not just a one night affair.. it was a case of framing a man that began 12 years before the murder - slowly grew - until the ultimate event.  In fact, there was one image posted 5 months before the murder which clearly shows how the framed man was… framed.  Again, I probably would have missed that proof.. except that the actual killer (who committed suicide a few months later) contacted me in live chat with yahoo messenger, and pointed out something in a certain photo.  I later found out much more about that photo, and even found the SOURCE photo from which the fake photo was made.

      Anyway.. while I am sure that there are hollywood moguls who use their power to get sex (Bill Cosby for example), I am sure that there have been many actresses who have seduced  powerful movie makers to get cast in movies, etc.  (Madonna for example - who married Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie).

      Nobody receives Hospice services for 15 years. Medicare actually caps it at six months (which is a long time for this service) and it's rather difficult to continue with the services via Medicare. Hospice is for end of life care. It's basically when treatment has stopped and you are just trying to make the patient comfortable until they die.

      People rarely die when they are expected to.  They also don't die when their insurance coverage runs out (although sometimes I wonder…).

      Just in my very limited personal experience:
      My aunt was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer that had gotten to her lymph nodes.  She was told she would be gone within 3 months.  She lasted over a year.
      My dad's 2nd wife's mother had all sorts of medical problems including severe dementia, heart problems, diabetes, legs swollen up like tree trunks.. could not walk, could not even operate her wheelchair.. and lingered like that for 15 years.
      My grandfather had rheumatism as a child which gave him what is called a "rheumatic heart" that is like a time bomb.  He was told several times that he needed heart surgery to fix some problem, but he refused.   But then, when he was quite frail and weak, he consented to the heart surgery.  Unfortunately, by the time he consented to the surgery, they told him he was too frail and weak to survive the surgery and they would not do it.  He was in a wheelchair that he could not operate, and in a motorized hospital bed at home, and wearing an oxygen mask for over 2 years before dying.
      My sister in law had severe multiple sclerosis, attempted suicide with an intentional fall - leaving her a quadraplegic with broken vertebrae in her neck.  That left her head fused at a 30% angle.  She couldn't talk, the pupils of her eyes were unresponsive, on a feeding tube, and looked like a corpse for over 15 years before her heart gave out.  My idiot brother fought to keep her alive so he could continue to collect her benefits.   He kept her in a vegetative state of hell just so he could live off the income of wher benefits.

      Your straight brorher?

      ;D

      My oldest brother is one of those few people that are 100% straight.   He doesn't care what a woman looks like, nor how obnoxious they are.  If they have a source of income (benefits) and can tolerate him, he is goo goo gaa gaa in love with them.   He is also ultra liberal.

      He sounds a lot like Melania!

      You don't think Trump is a good looking man?  His greatest weakness is how pale his skin, and how fair his hair is.  Certainly Trump looks better than #44 Obama, #43 George W. Bush, and #39 Carter.  If you want to talk about hidieous, ugly, and monstrous - then we must talk about Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Auntie Maxine Waters.

    • Something I never thought of before regarding divorce…

      I'm sure this situation has come up in real life, but to be clear, I'm just going to present it as a hypothetical case.

      Imagine that you have a man who is a billionaire that gets married.. but he had his wife sign a prenuptial agreement that specified that she would only get $100,000 for every year that they had been married in the event of a divorce.  The reasoning would be that he wanted to be sure that the woman was not just marrying him for his money.

      But then.. they have a child, and get a divorce 2 years later.  The woman would get her $200,000… but what about the child support for the child?  That could be astronomical!
      I wonder if that is why some celebrity spouses push so hard to adopt children.. so they can use them as a source of $$$ in a divorce?

      @raphjd:

      There's that video of the black chick with her fatherless kids living in a hotel screeching "somebody needs to pay for all these kids".    Turned out that all 10+ kids each had a different father.

      In the UK, we don't really see anyone other than whites with lots of kids because that would be racist.   Heather [what's her name] had 12 kids and made so much money on welfare that she could afford to buy her boyfriend pilot training (£200 - £250 an hour), stable a horse (about £350 a month), several pedigree dogs (£600 - £1,200 each), parrots (£1,000 each)  and countless other things.    Another family showed the parents saying they make to much money on welfare to bother getting jobs.  They said that getting jobs would severely cut their income, to normal levels.

      That is cheap for pedigree dogs.  Parrots in that price range would be large cockatoos, macaws, blue front amazons, and African Grays.

      I've seen several cases of divorced women living off the money that is supposed to be child support.  Never get divorced before the kids are 18!

      @raphjd:

      It's clearly an SJW move and one not based on reality.

      HIV/AIDS can be deadly, whereas the others aren't.     That to me is the difference.

      We've also had cases where both males and females have purposely infected others out of revenge for them getting it.

      ++++

      This doesn't affect "gift givers" as they are called.  This is because the "bug chasers" are actively seeking it.    The law only knowingly giving it without telling the victim.   It also doesn't affect those that know they are POZ but don't tell their sex partner, and the sex partner doesn't get it.

      I know of one case where a guy with AIDS committed suicide simply by refusing all treatment.  He was very depressed, didn't want to live anymore, and let nature take it's course.  The sad thing is, he was a nice guy.  He has been abandoned by his parents, did a couple of years in the military, wound up living with a sugar daddy (who later produced a few terrible movies starring Brent Corrigan), then working at Walt Disney World, got sick, refused treatment, and died.  Ironically, his parents took care of him in his last months.  Perhaps the reason he allowed his health to fail is that his failing health got him the love and attention of his parents back.

      @Frederick:

      The most recent data I could find is from 2015.. but the data shows clearly that CO2 emissions = CHINA

      also…
      Trying to debunk theories that higher CO2 levels cause warming, he cites studies that show CO2 levels following temperature spikes, prompting him to back other scientists who say that global warming is caused by solar activity.

      In taking on lawmakers pushing for a cap-and-trade plan to deal with emissions, Steward tells Whispers that he's worried that the legislation will result in huge and unneeded taxes. Worse, if CO2 levels are cut, he warns, food production will slow because plants grown at higher CO2 levels make larger fruit and vegetables and also use less water. He also said that higher CO2 levels are not harmful to humans. As an example, he said that Earth's atmosphere currently has about 338 parts per million of CO2 and that in Navy subs, the danger level for carbon dioxide isn't reached until the air has 8,000 parts per million of CO2.

      I did some reading about this before bed. I found information from different sources which said that China isn't expected to peak until 2020 (or even as late as 2030) and others that said that their CO2 has already started to decline. I'm not positive but I think taken together it's supposed to mean that the population is still increasing so in the coming decades as people start moving to these newly made cities car consumption will increase driving their CO2 consumption up but at the same time, they've already reached certain targets.

      Data's a bitch.  :cheesy2:

      That you and I could go online and come up with wildly different information shows how difficult it is for one team of people – spread across the globe, no less -- to come to a near-unanimous conclusion that the planet is warming and that there will be dire consequences.

      As for "Mark's number trick", this is all I could find and I'm pretty sure this isn't what he had in mind.  ::)

      wouldn't call that a trick.. I would call that very basic algebra.
      sqrt{xx + 2x + 1} - x  =  (x + 1) - x = 1

      keep in mind that  (x+1) * {x + 1) = x^2 + x + x + 1 = xx + 2x + 1

      I think is the wrong move. What do you all think?

      When donating blood, they ask a LOT of very specific and personal questions.  If someone has a disease, and are asked if they have or had that disease, and the person lies - that should be a felony.

      What I found most offensive is that they ask males if they have ever had sex with another male.  Why is that any of their business?  That is not the kind of information that a lot of people would be comfortable sharing.  What other questions might they ask?  "how many people have you had sex with?"  "have you ever had sex with a person of a different race?"  "have you ever had extramarital sex?"  "have you ever been or had sex with a prostitute?"  "how often do you have sex?"  "have you ever had sex with an animal?", etc.

      If they were putting things that were outright illegal in their TOS, they'd of been shut down by the US government, or otherwise fined HEAVILY a long ass time ago… That being said though, I don't doubt for so much as one second that they'll do as shady of things as they can legally get away with.

      For example, did you know that if you allow Facebook or Messenger to access your camera and/or microphone, that Facebook can spy on you without your knowledge at any time? Don't believe me? Read their TOS. I turned off the permissions to access my location the day that Facebook tried to make it MANDATORY to post your location with all of your posts. It seems that with every update that they roll out, they're doing shadier and shadier shit. I've contemplated getting rid of my Facebook account because of it for some time now.

      Thanks for that information!  It's shocking what Facebook gets away with!
      I am certain that if people knew what was in the TOS, a MASSIVE number of people would get rid of their Facebook accounts which would cripple their operation.  Even if they didn't get rid of their accounts, they would stop USING their accounts.

      It's a challenge to tackle the entirety of biblical illogic, but you've certainly addressed many of the core issues with your post, Frederick.

      To further your point on biblical veracity, I'm reminded of a friend who used to say, "If it's a feat that's even remotely plausible, it's a miracle.  If it's bat-shit crazy, it's a parable.  How can they lose?".

      I think this thread is really more for Religion & Philosophy, but you did manage to extrapolate biblical canon to ensnare Mrs. Clinton.  (Perhaps I'll venture to the Kitchen & Cooking sub-board one day, and find your spaghetti and meatballs recipe with a final instruction, "Don't add Hillary.")

      Osteen – what a self-interested snake.  Were you also disgusted when his megachurch was caught with doors closed, ignoring the victims of Hurricane Harvey?  A sad but telling tale of priorities.

      However, when the church is open for business, Osteen happily accepts all denominations, but his favorite denomination is the $20 bill.

      @Frederick:

      It is incredible that in the eyes of the media, the only relevant story at the moment is the Las Vegas massacre.  Everything else h as been forgotten.

      It was dark out, so spotting the flashes was almost instantaneous.
      It took a full 73 minutes -   10:08PM to 11:21PM before they went into the room
      The police DID arrive there rapidly.  At 10:14PM, just 6 minutes after they knew where the shots were coming from, they had officers on the 31st floor saying they could hear the shooter one floor above on the 32nd floor.
      SO WHY DID IT TAKE 67 MINUTES TO GET FROM THE 31ST FLOOR TO THE 32ND FLOOR????
      Keep in mind that if Kim Dung Heap launched an ICBM at New York City, it would hit in just 40 minutes!   That kind of puts things in perspective.

      10:08 p.m.
      There are reports “of multiple shots being fired from the direction of the Mandalay Bay towards the Route 91 concert that was taking place on the East side of Las Vegas Boulevard,” Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Monday, per Deadline.
      “I see the shots coming from Mandalay Bay, halfway up!” someone says in police scanner audio published by Broadcastify.

      10:14 p.m.
      An officer indicates in the audio, “I'm inside the Mandalay Bay on the 31st floor, I can hear the automatic fire coming from one floor ahead, one floor above us.”

      11:20 p.m.
      Around this time, the Times reports, authorities use a device to breach a Mandalay Bay room. Newsweek says the device is used at 11:21 p.m.

      http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/04/las-vegas-shooting-timeline-events.html

      UPDATE!  The shooting actually started at 9:59 PM when Paddock shot a security guard.  So, his location was known the entire time!  The FINAL shots were at 10:15PM!  The police didn't break in until 11:21 PM.

      So, it took 82 minutes from the time the shooter's location was known before the police broke into the room.
      It was not until 66 minutes after the shooter fired his final shot before the police broke into the room!

      UNBELIEVABLE!

    • Biblical banter…

      I am hesitant about ever mentioning anything about religion for many reasons.. including:

      the bible is loaded with ambiguities, and contradictions;
      who the various books are directed at is often not clear, and when it is clear, ignored;
      the "Old" testament focuses on Israel, and that nobody is worthy, and lots of sacrifices;
      the "New" testament basically says that while nobody is worthy.. they are automatically redeemed if they accept Jesus as their savior (which directly contradicts the 10 commandments);
      the "New" testament abolishes the concept of sacrifices for sins, by having the sacrifice of Jesus pay for all your sins - except that you are supposed to sorta tithe 10% of your income or otherwise give your money to the church… (hmm..);
      since NOBODY gets their ticket to heaven unless they accept Jesus.. that means that nobody who lived before Jesus goes to heaven (including all the characters in the Old Testament such as Moses);
      what is the point of anybody following the edicts of the Old Testament if there is no benefit to doing so?  nobody comes out a "winner" in the Old Testament;
      what is fact, what is fiction, and what is to be taken literally is unclear throughout the bible;

      My point is.. people need to stop justifying and condemning things based upon the bible.  One could say that the bible is a useful tool for teaching morality.. I would dispute that!  I would suggest that people turn their brains on, and use their common sense BUT obviously that doesn't work either, because at least half the population is a load of assholes.  The assholes - such as Hillary.. consider the other half of the population to be "deplorables", etc.

      Millions of people spend their lifetimes wrapped up in religious mumbo jumbo...  but to what end?  For instance.. in the USA, the most prominent evangelist is currently Joel Osteen.  Joel has an answer for everything.  His wife is a harpy bitch.  Joel had no interest in following in his daddy's footsteps of being an evangelist until he found a way to monetize it.
      Here's a fact:  Joel Osteen is worth $40 million, and one of his houses is worth $10.5 million.  Here is a picture of his humble little home...  why would anybody donate money to this man's ministry?

      The UK just went to that and it'll save a fortune.

      Abstinence Only is bullshit and the teen birth rates show that.   Proper sex ed is needed for teens and the law needs to change so that parents can't opt their kids out of the course.

      @raphjd:

      We can't have a proper discussion on this when the left has a history of acting in such horrible ways to enforce their view on the topic.

      The left committed countless vile deeds to make sure only their version was presented.   Email-gate and many others exposed the nasty antics the left did to prevent any descent.

      In email-gate, we found out (along with countless other things) that East Anglia University was lying on Freedom Of Information requests by saying that the information requested didn't exist.    They laughed and joked at how much lying they were doing and how easy it was to get away with it.

      We learned that they used "Mark's number trick" to get the data set to come out the way they wanted it.

      The UN's bi-annual report on climate change has to have constant edits to correct proven lies.   One of the most famous lies was the photo-shopping of a glacier to show it as virtually gone, when in fact it grew over the span of the 2 photos.   This was how we went from "global warming" to "climate change".    No one ever gets punished for these lies.

      There was an article where scientific journals refused to peer review sceptic papers.   They then use that as proof that their claims are junk because they aren't peer reviewed.

      +++++

      While I agree that climate change is real, I fucking despise the way the left has acted over this.

      It makes society unable to trust them when they are using shit like "Mark's number trick", photo-shopped pics and countless other things to lie about the "proof".

      One side is purposely and dishonestly muted, so how do we know that what we do hear is even remotely true.

      There is also the issue of major moonbats such as Al Gore.  Al is supposed to be the prince of "Green".. but the green isn't the welfare of the planet.. it's the paper in his wallet.  Al invested his life savings into things like low wattage light bulbs and solar panels.. while aggressively pushing for laws to benefit his own companies.  Even worse, Al's products are a bit expensive compared to cheap imports.. so he had the solar panels imported from China destroyed by customs!    Al only likes energy conservation that benefits his own bank account. https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/22/16351562/solar-energy-international-trade-commission-foreign-trade-lawsuit-suniva-tariff

      In the UK, TV news is legally required to be unbiased but it's not, not really.

      The BBC de-muslimed  the Paris McDonald's killer.   This is the norm in the west.

      Breakfast type shows aren't counted as "news"  so they can put whatever slant they want, as long as their official news slot is unbiased.

      ++++

      Other than literally killing off a bunch of liberal twat bags and replacing them with centrists, I don't know how to solve the problem.

      England has a real problem now.  It has become heavily influenced by muslims and moonbats.. to the point where when Lilibet invited the Donald to come visit, he can't go because a visit would result in riots.  That is probably due to the fact that the mayor of London is a muslim plonker who pulls no punches when it comes to Trump.  It seems to me that the PM has the right to criticize a world leader such as Trump, but th e mayor of London should keep his mouth shut when it comes to international relations.

      There are various references of possible gay behavior with Jesus and John, Jesus and Judas, Jesus and some naked guy who was stalking him, and Noah's own sons raping their daddy.

      Then there is the practice of rabbis to this day which I won't describe because nobody would believe me.. instead, read about it yourselves…

      The key word is possible gay behavior and the first two links omit that those passages would have been written in either Greek or Latin, both of which have multiple nuanced words for love/sex which are completely lost when translated into English. And gay would have only referred to some kind of sex, not what we mean when we use the word to refer to homosexual behaviour today. Those kinds of arguments are always tedious because the people arguing for a pro-gay reading are doing so for political/dogmatic reasons.

      Either way, the RC's version of The Bible is The King James version where those questions don't come up.

      Your analogy about computers is a perfect way to state the problem.

      I neglected to mention that a lot of the "gay" stuff is from the Apochrapha - the books written in Latin.  The Torah is the Hebrew bible, where they tossed out the stories that they didn't like.  The Christian bible further censored the books included in the bible.  They need to come up with another bible and remove Leviticus and Revelations - and some other insane jibber jabber.
