I think the only reason the 'nurture' option is still alive is because certain people have something to gain from it. There's absolutely no scientific basis for it and it has never made any sense at all, so I don't see why we still bother with it.

RE: What type of underwear?
I wear boxers and boxerbriefs. Commando, sometimes, in the heat of summer.

RE: Please help me with this poll about being gay men.
Definitely do not want to be a woman. This board admin must be looking for an explanation for his sexuality too hard - in the wrong place.

RE: Drugs and Being Gay
I guess caffeine isn't so bad, the other drugs… I don't know. I've seen people in some really bad trips over just a joint or space-cake - of course in combination with an abundance of alcohol, but nonetheless, far worse off than when they had just been really drunk. You really learn to treat them like small children in such states, because there is no reasoning possible on any sophisticated level. Comforting them and securing their vitals is all we can do while waiting for the ambulance.
So I'm a bit sceptical about these 'good drugs'.

RE: Shaved Penis
I'll take well trimmed over perfectly shaved any day. I love natural hair-growth, in decent/artistic amounts - so it has to be trimmed or moderate by nature. Either that or natural smoothness, like a certain type of blondes and reds have. Which are both extremely hot as well…
I only trim, apart from some shaving around the facial hair-growth to keep the lot aesthetic.
I have no experience licking balls, either shaved or not shaved - regardless of incidental slipping down, so I couldn't say I prefer the one or the other on real-life examples. But I reckon shaved is better, no one wants hair stuck between their teeth.

RE: Marine officer: Gays, straights shouldn't share housing
The only thing that will change for the heterosexual marines (and all other military personnel) is that they might now be confronted with their ignorance and prejudice.

RE: Retired US General: Gay Dutch Troops Contributed to Srebrenica Massacre
Of course it is not true and the claim is purely based on personal bias, but it did make it in our Dutch newspapers.
I don't think I have ever felt as insulted by a paper as then.

RE: Gay men and politics view
Being Dutch, I think I'm off pretty well. Spunksta is right about that. But concerning politics, I really think we suck.
Right now, from what I can say, Norway is the best country in the world.
Basically I'm an Oligarchic Republican. I don't 'believe' in Democracy and I certainly don't believe in the Dutch version of the term. I do always vote, I tell my friends and others around me that people who vote have the right to bitch about politics. If you don't vote, you don't get to complain. Right now the Netherlands is without a government, not that we're noticing any difference; we'll soon get to vote for a new one. I'm hoping for a red(-ish) outcome, but we'll probably either get stuck with centrist capitalists or that Geert Wilders figure.
The Socialist Party, of which I've been a member for a while (not anymore), is currently under strain of losing the replacement head of the party. The founder was immensely popular, but ever since he left the party has been losing voters. I saw the new guy who is to chair the party - he is ugly… The other social-ish party is too centrist to do any good, but at least it is a veteran party with plenty of voters. They too will be getting a new chair, since the current (Wouter Bos) is being spit out by the majority of people here for screwing us as minister of finance.
Anyway, I'm in no position to break the system, so I abide and try to make the best of it through this unfortunate but 'functioning' system.

RE: Gay men wanting equality, yet not giving it in return
I think straight sex is disgusting, but that doesn't mean I won't let them marry. People need to get over sex, and recognize the part involving romantic feelings which, very much, is a part of 'sexuality'.
It is surprising how narrow-minded people (straight, and probably gay too) are when it comes to homosexuality among men (two girls are OK by straight male standards). The first thing they think about when they see two guys walking on the street is gay sex. It's almost like an obsession I'd say. Most of the time I spent in the lower educational levels explaining homosexuality, is getting the sex overtone out of homosexuality. Really, in an association game anal sex is the first to make it on the blackboard - half of the time. If people understood that gay men are not ALL about doing it in the naughty place, perhaps the gay marriage issue would not be an issue to begin with. Proof: hXXp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgDWAvLh0yo
(found that one via Nightcharm.com)What I find more worrying is more common discrimination (on race, gender, IQ, appearance, etc.) by gay men. For a people who have had to fight so hard for their rights, it is very bothersome to see some of my generation make unfortunate remarks of discrimination. We are SO not in the position to do that kind of shit.

RE: Is there one single thing you regret abo
I have no regrets, whatsoever. I do find problems, with the people around me who are ignorant about homosexuality (and so many other things…).
Being gay has made me very strong, and I think it is a good move by whatever caused me to put me in this position. Not being able to make babies with a partner that would seem natural to me, is a bummer, but life is not fair to begin with, so what am I bitching about?
And really, what is there to regret about something you had no say in? I could regret the shittiness of the world, but what's the use?

RE: Being gay?
I'm pretty certain homosexuality is not a cultural thing. Being 'gay' can be very cultural though. So basically I'd say 'gay' has three definitions now: being very happy, being homosexual (as a male?) and applying to the gay scenes. You don't have to be homosexual and in the gay scene, if you know what I mean.
Personally I like to see sexuality as a spectrum, for one it basically explains why there is no definite on-/off switch on heterosexuality, and it explains away bisexuality. Besides that it also explains why some straight guys are more open to 'new experiences' than others - instead of claiming they must be bi or closet cases.
Of course it's just a theory. What is certain is that homosexuality can not be 'cured', that forcing people into a closet (as in curing them) is not particularly good for the mental health of the person and that it is not a choice. I'm an agent for the COC (oldest still existing GLBT organization), going by classrooms telling young people about homosexuality. One of the things I like to mention, is that there are only two choices when you find out you are gay: 1. letting the world know, and 2. accepting it as part of your life.

RE: Drugs and Being Gay
I can't remember really, I think it was when I was trying to find back this hxxp://3.bp.blogspot.com/_QBN0qst0p7o/R-Aw8JWgsQI/AAAAAAAAA3k/GEXT3FC2epM/s1600/sataninreligion.jpg picture, looking for 'Satan in Religion'. I'm using it on multiple forums.
I regret not knowing who the artist is (the downside to all this information spreading on the Internet), I would have praised him (or her) for it everywhere I go.
But yours ain't so bad either. Patrick Fillion?

RE: The 5 foods you should eat every day
This is good stuff. Just this past week I've had a big congress on Integrative Psychiatry, which theme was the self-healing capability of the human body. Garlic was named the #1 food to consume for a healthy life, as well as identifying Omega-3 acids as the best you can get, while dragging Omega-6 down. I just checked my cabinet and I have a supplement which contains both from fatty fish. Go figure.
It's no joke that diet and exercise reduce all nastiness in life. Cancer, while awaiting a more efficient and universal cure, can often be effectively combated by a diet which limits the amount of 'food' for the tumour and reduces the chance of other cancer cells becoming aggressive. Exercise is the best way to stop and prevent depression, as well as keeping you fit.
I agree with all five you mentioned, but the reality is that my diet contains loads of stuff I shouldn't consume and only few of the important foods (onions, garlic, nuts, green tea, probiotica, etc.) make it into my daily diet. My life is too much of a mess right now to contain such regularity as a healthy diet requires.
Life should be focused less on making money, and more on making the best of it. Money is just a tool to acquire some of the stuff you need for a good life; it won't buy you health or happiness, really.

RE: Gay card - prove you are out
That's pretty cool. But, why is (VERSATILE) not an option?

RE: Age Gaps
I'm 21 at the moment, and a scoutleader and COC agent (telling young people about homosexuality as part of their education). Those two volunteer jobs involve me and a whole lot of young people, basically, this puts me in a good position to figure out what 'young' is too young.
I'd say 16 is acceptable for me for sex. But the boys are definitely never mature enough for me to consider a relationship. I need 'em older. And really, I'm not the kind of guy that does sex but not love; so I doubt I'll ever do 16 at all. 18-20 will be closer to what I like most.
I've done some cubscouts leadership as well, the cubs tend to have young dads and there was this incredibly attractive blond man, he must have been about 30-35, with the most amazing smile. I'd totally do him, and he's old enough for a relationship for sure. But dads tend to be committed to womankind, so that never flew… yet.
I'd say a loose ten years either way (older/younger) seems acceptable. Starting from 16 years as the youngest. Sex with someone under sixteen is plainly illegal, so that wouldn't be acceptable anyway - but you get the point. Then again, I don't think anyone ever loses their taste for the beauty of youth. ^-^

RE: Valentine’s Question: could you give it all up?
I think polygamy is a very interesting thing to examine deeper, especially in terms of biology and law.
I'm basically a monogamous person, but wouldn't mind having more than one cuddly toy in bed. Outside of bed, especially in the romance part of 'sexuality = romantic and sexual feelings', more than one person to focus on seems very hard. It is completely natural for us to feel more for one person than we do for another, same as a mother likes one of her children more than the others. Socially this is unacceptable, but it is reality.
So, in a relationship where there is more than one person involved, you're bound to like one of the guys more than the other(s). This makes for a third wheel, or a whole bunch of third wheels (according to the amount of men in the relationship). It seems like an unpleasant state to be in, not just as the third wheel, but also coming to terms with your desire for one over the other - feelings of guilt and betrayal.
It might be a social thing, or a natural thing; but I don't think humans are capable of being in love with more than one other human being at the same time. Or at least not feel equal love for more than one person. Basically, I know a whole lot of men I'd like to have as a partner, but each is different, I crave each at possibly different times because they each have different qualities (including different personality's). So in order to not be a consumer product and not be a consumer of those, I try to find the guy that fits me most. It seems fairer than to give time to different guys whenever you need their specific quality.
It's like taking the best out of each telecom provider: low cost, high service, great phone, etc. but not give them a full subscription in return. It doesn't work that way, all men have downsides and will want a partner to be there for them at such times as well. Polygamists are the cafeteria Christians of sex.
But like I said, this would be a very interesting thing to do research on. Any scientists out there?

RE: Drugs and Being Gay
98%? Where are the figures on that? ???
Or did they count caffeine and alcohol as drugs?
I don't think this is representative of homosexual men, at all.

RE: If you can turn a straight into GAY,who would he be?
Great question!
I would magically move the following into the gay side of the sexuality spectrum - if they are not already:
- Freddie Stroma
- Ryan Doyle (parcour world champion)
- Steve Sandvoss
And really, there are millions of men I'd like to have on our side - if only to increase my chances of finding mr. right in a beautiful body. You see them all the time, but my mind seems preoccupied with the dreaded 7% chance that he is on the right side. Fortunately attractive blond straight men do tend to become more accessible when administered alcohol; be it for just that single night of fun.
