      @Frederick:

      I try to agree with people whenever I can.  I do agree that Macron is young and handsome.  If watching porn, I would much rather watch Macron than Marine Le Pen.
      As for everything else you said.  Nonsense.  The entire history of France is corruption, hypocrisy, and division.  You sell weapons of mass destruction to anybody who will pay for them, yet condemn any actual USE of the weapons by your rivals.  France always despises their own leaders, going all the way back to the kings and Napoleon.  Basically, France is a country of mercenaries (ever heard of the French Foreign Legion?).  France thrives upon terrorism.
      HOWEVER, I must point something out.  Quite often, the people who exhibit the WORST behaviors also exhibit the BEST behaviors.  Certainly France and Germany have done a lot of terrible things.. but France has also done some of the best things.  And as for Germany, the technology of the world advanced by leaps and bounds with WW2.  There probably would be no jet airplanes nor men on the moon without the contributions of people like Werner Von Braun and Albert Einstein (Einstein was German by the way..)  Ironically.. Hitler was NOT German!  He was Austrian.  Those damned Austrians!  bad bad bad!

      I apologize in advance for offending any libtards with the true facts.

      Will wonders never cease? I was happy that I'd be able to call a first and say that I actually agree with your first line! I too would rather watch Macron than Le Pen.  ;D And then you go and continue to make the most nuanced discussion I've read from you in the time I've spent on this part of the forum. There's a lot to take from the compact bit of history you shared. I guess all I'd add is that a people can change over time, and maybe at some point grow past their collective history, and learn from mistakes made in the past.

      As I said to others on here, we may disagree on many things, we may get heated in our discussion, but it's nice when common ground can be found once in a while. In the end, we all share the same goal here: To find and spread the best gay porn around! Cheers.  :ok2:

      @yapi75:

      Thank you for your kind words brianboru72  🙂 I loved your first post on this topic and honestly your positive perspective encouraged me to reply to the naysayers. Peace  :love:

      For me it was your last line- not to let hate pollute our minds.  :hug2: It's a sentiment I agree with 1000%! We can all disagree and discuss things here- but let's not make it personal. The whole point of debating is to engage in ideas and try to come to some common ground where possible.

      I was surprised that my comment to you was downvoted TBH, it didn't make sense. But as I said it's best to not let things said here affect you too much. Take a break if it starts to feel too intense. I find it interesting to be active in this section while looking for new porn or waiting for my uploads to get started.  😄 And again, congratulations on a promising new president. At least you had a good option to pick-sometimes all options seem too tainted which makes it dispiriting to make a choice or cast a vote.  😕

      @yapi75:

      Hi everyone this is my first post on this site and I had to do it because of a few scary posts I've just read about The French elections.

      Firstly I want to say that I'm a French guy who proudly voted for Emmanuel Macron on Apr 27th and May 7th. Marine Le Pen was NOT an option as she was clearly not a republican candidate. Remember "Liberté Egalité Fraternité" ?

      Second, eat your hearts out British friends but there are still people who believe in Europe, no Frexit for us thank you  😛 As for the quote "Merkel re-elected as President of France", this is not a nice thing to say for the German people who re-elected this woman meaning she may be not that bad  ;D

      Last, many of us French people believe that our young, handsome and brilliant new President embodies values likely to give hope for the new generations. I may be wrong but why not give this young man a chance ?

      And NO : gays and women are NOT beaten everyday by Muslims in France. I could not believe reading that kind of s**t on a gay site but I guess there are pro-Trump, pro-Putin, populist alt-right gays after all …

      Peace people and do not let hate pollute your minds  :love:

      Excellent first post!  😄 Welcome to the Politics and Debate section. Don't let the sometimes-craziness get to you- and pull back when you feel you are getting too heated. Otherwise, have fun! And congratulations on your promising new President! Vive La France!  :cheers:

      Good on France! Leave it to them to turn back the dark tide of fear and insularity that Brexit and Trump has inflicted on the West. Again the French have stood for Liberté égalité fraternité!  :bravo:

      This is a victory for looking outward- for globalism and the realization that we are stronger looking to and reaching out to our fellow human beings beyond our borders rather than closing ourselves off from the rest of the world. Yes, there are risks, but no good thing comes without a cost.

      To all the naysayers and predictors of doom- time will tell. I disagree with your fear mongering.  :panic:
      History will show which of us has got this right.

    • RE: The moral high ground and the left

      @raphjd:

      I'm only a conservative to the loony left.

      I have condemned all the violence.

      Good on you then. I may hate the message and the content of what you post here now and then, but that's as far as it goes for me.

      As for the things on YouTube- you can believe what you choose, I am just more wary about swallowing things from a source that has zero fact checking- and which literally anyone can post whatever they want and APPEAR to be authoritative and factual.

      And for the things CNN said, and the lack of condemnation and such- that's on CNN and there are failings in all sources of news. But that doesn't taint EVERYTHING they do. There are more credible places to look for news- like BBC, Time, Reuters, NYT, Washington Post, etc.
      It's their job to be factual, and I'd rather believe in journalistic ethics and integrity than put my trust in a platform as open to abuse as YouTube.

      In closing, I think this is just a good a place as any to say that I disagree strongly with many things you say on here, but I know you have your reasons- and it may or may not be because you've been terribly hurt in the past by something liberals said or did. If so, I hope you move past that and see the flaws and also the benefits of both sides.  😉

      From the start, I've always liked your sig a lot. It stood out first because I'm big on dogs. And I agreed with the sentiment. At least on that we can find common ground. Good day to you!

      @raphjd:

      @Drwas:

      Fake news.

      How so?   These things are true.   You can find videos of these incidents on YouTube.

      Typical you can't refute what I said.

      @magentas:

      Raphhd, you have some serious mental issues and need to see a therapist.

      Your concept of what liberals are and what we do has NO relation to liberals at all- it is the fabrication of the right-wing propaganda that has poisoned you.

      This is especially shocking since, as a gay man, the Conservatives are the ones who take the "Moral High Ground" against YOU.

      Conservatives are the ones who use violence, conservatives are the ones who consider themselves to be holier than thou and condemn everyone different from them.

      WAKE UP.

      Umm, the things I posted actually happened.   You can find the videos of them on YouTube.

      Of course, as a liberal, you won't see it on your "news" outlets.   Hell, you guys deny bad things liberals do even when it's on liberal media. Despite the confessions from the 4 kidnappers, liberals still refuse to admit that the Chicago kidnapping was a hate crime.

      Why do you lefties refuse to admit what you guys do, especially when there's plenty of evidence that you do it?

      First off, there is NO side that can lay claim to the moral high ground. Realistically speaking- both sides are guilty of things which make it impossible for them to claim the moral high ground. There? How does that sound for you? Now you can't claim that all liberals are unwilling to take responsibility. How about you? When have YOU ever accepted responsibility for what Conservatives do? You are so quick to claim liberals are unwilling to accept the blame for their failings, but you're no better.

      Next- really YouTube? Is that the best you can do? The same place where my cousin's friend goes to post his latest rants about how he can't get a date, and how women are all to blame for that? The same place that allows anyone to post practically any claim WITHOUT any fact checking AT ALL?

      And yet just because it doesn't say what you want to hear, you choose to call traditional news media "fake". You want to discredit the validity of an ENTIRE PROFESSION? Seriously? Last I looked- there's still something called journalistic integrity. And if there's one place you've got a greater risk of getting fake news it's on YouTube.

      To put it simply- would you go to a snake oil salesman to cure you, or would you go to a hospital with trained professionals? You do the math.

      The backlash is going to be so brutal. I can't wait to sit back with my popcorn and watch from afar.

      Agreed. It's mind-boggling how blatantly they push for all these reductions to health care just to fund their planned tax cut to the wealthy.

      @blackwing:

      Out of curiosity, what is up with all of the bigoted, right-leaning Conservatives on this site? Are there really that many self-hating bigots in the LGBT community or has this site been invaded by Republican "Tea-Party" nutjobs?

      Not as many as it seems. Just some really active ones in the Politics and Debate section. Sometimes it just gets tiresome to respond to the outright lies or alt-facts being spewed on here. But other times, there are those who won't let it pass.

      It doesn't help that they seem to be fixated on Hillary and Obama- so anything you bring up eventually becomes about those two as if that's all they can use against Liberals. Meanwhile the Republicans have passed the hugely unpopular AHCA and taken away the health care of millions with one stroke.  >:D

      @raphjd:

      Where's the hatred for Chechnya considering how it treats gays, especially recently?

      Are the SJWs totally silent on the topic because it's a muslim country?

      Is this one of the utopian gay haven countries that a user recently talked about?

      Um….the atrocities of the anti-gay purge in Chechnya is a topic we've discussed here in the forum since April 15 at least.
      Definitely does NOT get a pass just because it's a Muslim country.

    • RE: Advices, interpretation, help & breakup

      I think I left a comment as well, way back in that old post you refer to.
      My advice then, as it is now, is stop hanging on to the past. Sure, it's really hard to let go of someone who feels like they complete us. But that's never the core of a healthy relationship.

      It's really your choice- you can stick to your old system, old patterns of unhealthy attachments which will only bring you more heartache in the end, or-
      –you can grow up and understand that people aren't made to complete you. Only you can bring yourself to that point where you feel complete on your own. Other people have their own issues to deal with- at best you can help each other become better versions of yourselves- but that's about it.

      You can have hook ups all you want- that's part of the journey- but at some point you need to find someone who is mature enough to get into a more serious relationship with. Assuming that's what you really want. Just try to stop obsessing over the people who you do wind up connecting with- nothing can drive them away faster than that. It sounds like you were able to achieve this with the Y guy= and you had more fun. Stay laid back and less obsessed with making things turn out the way you want them to. Sometimes the best thing you can do is just let things happen in their own time and enjoy the ride.

    • RE: Trump speech breathes new life into Trump Rally: Dow hits 21,000 for 1st time

      Of course, none of this changes the fact that he's had very few successes so far.

      **He has failed to get any of his priorities turned into legislation in the face of party disunity, and his attempt to rule by executive order has been largely hollow. His decrees have been either meaningless, like his one-page, detail-free tax reform plan, or have been blocked by the courts, such as his travel ban for Muslim countries and refugees.

      Trump’s approval ratings have remained mired at historic lows for a presidency in what is supposed to be a honeymoon period, hovering around – and frequently below – the 40% mark, well below his recent predecessors at this stage in their presidencies.**

    • RE: In my early 40s… and i have never met a man for a longtime relationship...

      You sound like a really great guy! I guess without knowing more about you, I can give a limited bit of advice-
      but first I'd suggest you look at your relationship history. What were your last long relationships? What caused them to end? SOmetimes we fail to resolve some personal issues that need to be dealt with before we can move on to a successful long-term relationship.

      Next- I'd suggest looking into other dating apps in your country that caters to a more serious crowd than say Grindr does (it was on your list of apps). Some other places to look would be at social events that you can attend. Ask around- use your network of friends and family and tell them to hook you up with someone they might know who fits what you're looking for.

      Last, you could join some group activities- dance classes? Scuba diving? Swimming? You may have a good chance to meet someone who shares your interests and that's a great start to a relationship. I hope that helps. Good luck!

      @raphjd:

      I'm glad you admit Obama, your lord and saviour, is part of thread since he's in the title and directly being compared to Trump.

      Puh'lease, liberals kept throwing up GWB every time someone was critical of your lord and saviour.  Stop being a hypo.., er um liber…., um hypocrite.

      BTW, I'm still waiting for you rancid liberals to condemn the violence you guys have been committing lately.  I know it won't happen, because you feel violence is justified when your side does it.

      So you use their behavior as an excuse for yours? Sorry to burst your bubble but you don't get a free pass to overgeneralize. I NEVER defended Obama by hiding behind Bush. That's just weak.  ::)
      Besides, please point to ANY thread or response where I have praised Obama as my "lord and savior." Sorry I'm not a blind Obama booster. Just because I find Trump loathsome and utterly infantile doesn't mean I automatically am praising Obama or Hillary.

      Why can't you answer anything I raised? Counter all the Trump criticism by talking about Trump's wins…his accomplishments.
      Go on> or do you have nothing here? Coming up empty because Trump has been so incapable of following through on his promises? He backpedals so much he's already back to campaigning mode.  ;D

    • RE: 100 days: President Trump is twice as unpopular as President Obama

      @raphjd:

      Umm, try reading the thread title.    The OP brought your lord and saviour, Obama, into this thread with the title.

      Don't be simplistic. I did read the thread title- and the subject is DONALD TRUMP and how unpopular he is in his first 100 days= yes it does bring in Obama but only as a point of reference. If you go on to read the OP body of text it's all about Trump being an unpopular president. Hence, the thread is about Trump and his first 100 days.

      Besides, why are you fixating again on Obama? Trump is president now. Why not share with us WHY you think he's a good president? What actual accomplishments has he had that really gets you all excited? Come on- you can engage better than that.

      Has he started his border wall yet?
      Has he gotten his Muslim ban out of the legal mess it is in yet?
      Has he repealed and replaced Obamacare yet?
      Has he "locked her up"?
      Has he released his tax returns yet?
      Has he called China a "currency manipulator" yet?
      Has he passed his tax reforms yet?
      Well?
      Let's talk Trump!  😉

      @liz:

      Signing a contract saying you are now one is simplifying something so deep… a relationship is what matters - the customs and ceremonies just complicate things

      And you're oversimplifying the impact of this ceremony. Aside from providing a milestone which is witnessed by the friends and family of the couple- it provides them with a supportive community that ideally comes together to help the couple in  times of distress.

      Most importantly, there are many legal benefits that the couple can only enjoy once the marriage has been completed and recognized. Legal rights such as joint ownership of property, tax benefits, adopting children, and the right to hospital visits and medical decisions as family.
