    • RE: You are Broken

One of the major problems with this Forum is that the Moderator (or one of the moderators?) is in NO WAY ATTEMPING TO BE NEUTRAL.  Instead he is a far-right extremist whose use this group to spread his own fanatical, ultraconservative posts and whose replies adding to the anger and dissension and frustration with and in this group.

I stopped posting here several months ago after getting a warning for criticizing an rude and vile post made my that Moderator.

I am posting this message now to suggest the place to speak about this problem is NOT in this group, but to contact the OTHER MODERATORS on gaytorrent.ru to report this ongoing problem.

But like others here, I now have no desire to be part of this group (again). I only looked in here – after avoiding it for months (I am so very glad it was REMOVED from the front page) -- to see if things had improved.

      :cry2:

**This needs a moderator who honestly tries to be A MODERATOR. :police:

Any ass clown that thinks that wearing their granny's clip on earrings makes them trans, is a fucking idiot.    The same goes with so many other things we've been seeing the last 10+ years.

**It would help you a great deal to be taken seriously and with consideration in your posts, raph, if you were not so Willfully-Ignorant and -Stupid.

You bring more irrational HATRED to this Forum then anyone else's posts I have read on this site.

      Just sayin'.

      @raphjd:

I would still refer to myself as a liberal (I'm a classic liberal), but modern liberals poisoned the term.  What "liberal" currently means completely repulses me.

Obama did, despite promising to do the complete opposite, expand GWB's spying on Americans.    He went way beyond anything GWB wanted.
It does appear that there was some spying on Trump people.

Your citations for these beliefs of yours from established, reputable, professional-journalist news sources are… where???

    • RE: Sci fi recomendation

      @Badboy13:

Any ongoing sci fi tv series hou would recommend?

"The Expanse" is one of the best Science Fiction TV series every shown, the other three being the original "Star Trek", Babylon 5", and the "Stargate" series.  (Well, you can add in there "The Twilight Zone"" with regards to anthology series.)

"The Expanse" is based on a series of novels and short stories written by James S. A. Corey (actually 2 authors) and actually follow the novels very faithfully.  The first novel "Leviathan Wakes" was told in the show's 1st and first-part of the 2nd seasons.  The start of the second novel, "Caliban's War", was adapted in the second-half of the 2nd season.

Both "Dark Matter" and "Killjoys" are also very enjoyable, but are less Science Fiction science fiction series (not a criticism).  They have both had 2 seasons and will be starting their 3rd ones in 2018.

These three shows have not done overall that well in the ratings.  However what is allowing them to continue is that there are multiple productions companies involved in more than one nation, so overall the (dedicated) viewership makes production of them worthwhile.

There is also "Sense 8" which just started its 2nd season, another excellent Science Fiction series.  It's producers are The Wachowskis (of "The Matrix") and J. Michael Straczynski of "Babylon 5".  (ASIDE: The Wachowskis are not longer "The Wachowskis Brothers" since both are now MTF women.)

"Sense 8" has both a gay male and a MTF transgender characters.  It is somewhat stylized in telling its story, but that is because it is a difficult story to tell visually, as it is of the formation of a group mind.  (This is not like Trek's Borg, which is a hive mind. A group mind is where a number of people share conscious, but retain their individual identities.)  It is just starting its 2nd season now.  Before that, there was a 1st season and a Christmas Special(!).

(I know a good deal about Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror in general and in detail. I have long been involved, directly and indirectly, in the various fan communities of these genres.)

As I said it was in response to your comment re: violence - you said a few men get hit and i said so that discounts women?? THAT was my point - I have said to you 100x - it was IN CONTEXT

_As a gay man who was physically and emotionally abused by his male partner for many years, I want to say I wish when it comes to domestic violence that raphjd would just shut the fuck-up with his utterly willful-Ignorance and Stupidity on this subject.

But he obviously lacks the empathy to do so.

I use to like hiking, but then I was trapped in a tiny town without a car and nowhere to go, so I was housebound for almost 2.5 years.  Gained so much damn weight and it seriously fucked up my flexibility – and what it did to me emotionally....

Does the person below me like very intelligent, creative, and artistic older bears?

More pathetic left bullshit because they can't have a debate on issues.
      –-------------------------

Those on the left can and often do have such discussions.

The problem with most of those on the far-right – such as you -- is that they are willfully-ignorant and -stupid, as well as too ethically immature, and thus cannot understand what those on the left are truly saying -- not what you foolish believe we are.  Those are very, very far apart.

It is the plank in your eye that you do not see is there.

I always finding it amusing that you include in your posts that same photo about being who your dog thinks you are, because you most certainly are not.  :cheesy2:  You are just another hate-filled, right-wing whiner.

Munchkin Cthulhu Guest Artist Edition Card Game (Katie Cook)

Though I don't have anyone to play it with.   😞  I have all the other Cthulhu Munchkin releases as well, even the limited edition ones, but again, unplayed.

Before that I bought several Lovecraftian games on Steam.

I think I keep buying card and board games with the hope of finding other folks interested in playing.  (Believe me, I have looked – but no one is nearby.)

    • RE: I Was Willing to Give Trump a Chance Until Now…

      @jojojojo3:

oh no a stereotype that may be accurate. and look, your anecdote is suddenly data? no one's lived experience matters a lick here.

Oh course they matter, not only as individuals, but especially when an experience is backed-up by scientifically-done statistical studies.

You are yet another example of someone who choses to be purposely Clueless, jojo.

oh, and good on you for being one of the privileged ones where all you have to worry about is white homophobes calling you names as you are suddenly making this about yourself and an issue of race..

REALLY?  Is that what you believe he wrote???  You do NOT believe that Southern Republicans – who mostly are white -- tend to be far-right-wingers and racists?

      –------------------

I have seen nothing to indicate there has been any change in such disgusting Republican Southern racism in the last 6 years.

In fact, I think the many events of 2016 have been further evidence of not only the continuation of the ultraconservative nature of many Southern whites, but a hardening of such attitudes as well.

Also note, I said "many", not "all".  There are a number of whites, especially those in the larger cities in the South – such as Atlanta which has a law protecting the civil rights of gay people -- who are not hateful bigots.

You put up a blind link to a YouTube video – without including the title or the source -- and you expect others to look at it???  AND YouTube?!  A great deal of YouTube is nothing but BULLSHIT; it is filled with political fake news -- and extraterrestrial aliens having built the pyramids. OH! FYI Trump's nominated Housing secretary, the bigoted Ben Cason who stated recently before Congress gays do NOT deserve "Special Rights" (i.e. equal civil rights), believes the Egyptian pyramids where for grain storage:

Next time, jojo, do find a professional-journalistic, reputable, established source to post a link if you want a reasonable and rational person to look it at!

but hey, anything so you can circle jerk for trump hate when his opponent's husband put in Don't ask don't tell, and ran in the 2008 primary to not put in gay marriage.

I see you are extremely Ignorant of history as well.

      –------------------
      http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/politics/dont-ask-dont-tell-timeline/

      A History of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'
After 17 years, the controversial policy has been repealed. Here's how it happened.
      The Washington Post - Nov. 30, 2010.
      –------------------

Democrat President Bill Clinton wanted to repeal the ban of gay people serving in the military.   It was Congress who STOP that from happening.  Congress was the one who rejected a repeal of the ban – in fact, they reinforced Reagan's anti-gay military ban!  Months later, President Clinton -- as the U.S. Commander-in-Chief -- went over their heads and did a bipartisan compromise which became "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

DADT was in fact a step forward for gays being able to serve in the US military – and in 17 years (not that long in a historical sense) it lead to being repealed in 2010,  That also helped lead to the legalization of Marriage Equality in the USA in 2015.

OH, and the 2012 Democratic Platform specifically endorsed "Marriage Equality" and specifically used that term.

You an excellent example, jojo, as to why I generally try to avoid far-right-wing bigoted K00KS in my Life and usually avoid arguing with them – because reason and knowledge are USELESS when in comes to a discussion with those who have purposely-chosen to be Ignorant, Stupid, and Bigoted.

      yawn
