âBeginning on or about July 3, 2025, and continuing until on or about July 4, 2025, in the Northern District of Texas, [defendant name] planned with others to provide resources and personnel, including [himself/herself], knowing and intending that they would be used to carry out acts of terrorism,â Baumann, Gibson, and Sikes admitted were true in the court filing. They admitted that the terrorism was âcalculated to influence or affect the conduct of government by intimidation or coercion, or to retaliate against government conduct.â
In Baumannâs stipulated facts, he admitted: âBaumann found that others who participated in the acts against Prairieland adhered to an Antifa, revolutionary anarchist or autonomous Marxist ideology that is anti-law enforcement, anti-immigration enforcement, and calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and the system of law. Antifa is a militant enterprise that advocates insurrection and violence to affect the policy and conduct of the U.S. government by intimidation and coercion.

Jeffrey Epstein was feeding questions to Rep. Stacey Plaskett during a 2019 congressional hearing â and giving her real time help on how to damage President Trumpâs reputation, newly released documents show.
The texts, first reported by the Washington Post, show the convicted pedophile pontificating with Plaskett during a Feb. 27, 2019 House Oversight Committee hearing in which the then-former presidentâs ex-attorney Michael Cohen testified about Trumpâs alleged payments to mistresses to silence stories before the 2016 election. Trump has vehemently denied all allegations.
In the texts, Epstein appeared to be watching on television while Cohen brought up former Trump executive assistant Rhona Graff in his testimony.
âCohen brought up RONA â keeper of the secrets,â Epstein texted, misspelling Graffâs first name.
âRONA??â responded Plaskett, a non-voting delegate representing the US Virgin Islands. âQuick Iâm up next is that an acronym,â she added, suggesting sheâd grill Cohen soon.
âThats his assistant,â Epstein replied.
The text messages also show Epstein influenced what questions Cohen [was] asked [by Plaskett].
âHes opened the door to questions re who are the other henchmen at trump org,â Epstein texted Plaskett at 12:25 p.m.

Among the 17 accounts uncovered by our source were ones on YouTube, Snapchat, Venmo, Zelle, GroupMe, Discord, Google Play, Quizlet, Chess.com and Quora.
The online interactions from when Crooks was ages 15 to 17 give us a better understanding of his evolution into an assassin, and invite more questions about what â or who â reversed his ideology.
âThe danger Crooks posed was visible for years in public online spaces,â says the source. âHis radicalization, violent rhetoric and obsession with political violence were all documented under his real name. The threat wasnât hidden.â

Rod Swanson is a former senior FBI agent who was the chief of investigations for the state of Nevada during the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting.
He also previously served on FBI Director Robert Muellerâs protective detail and as a firearms instructor in Pennsylvania.
Contacted by phone over the weekend, Swanson said he was surprised his name was connected to Crooks.
âI donât know anything about that kid or his family,â he said. âI donât even use PayPal. I donât even know how to set up a PayPal account.â
But then, why would Crooks pick him?
Given Crooksâ pattern of tracking high-profile mass shootings and violent events, the source believes it is plausible that he adopted Swansonâs name as a private joke.
But Swanson confirmed, FBI had to know Crooks.
When told of Crooksâ online threats, he said there was no way the FBI would not be aware of the teenager.
âNo matter how ridiculous the allegation, no matter if itâs COVID or not, somebody is going to knock on somebodyâs door,â Swanson said. âIf they investigated that kid thereâs a record of it and thereâs an assessment that some leader made that this was not a threat or it rose to a level and they did something else.â

He described himself with the pronouns âthey/themâ on the platform DeviantArt, which is one of the biggest online hubs for âfurryâ art and the âfurryâ community. (A furry is someone who has an interest in anthropomorphized animal characters, often as a sexual fetish.)
Two accounts linked to Crooksâ primary email were found on DeviantArt, under usernames âepicmicrowaveâ and âtheepicmicrowave.â The account suggests he had an obsession with scantily clad cartoon characters sporting muscle-bound male bodies and female heads.
Kinda like Tyler Robinson, murderer of Charlie Kirk. Hmm

One of the people Crooks interacted with online was âWilly Tepes,â a member of Norwegian neo-Nazi group the Nordic Resistance Movement, which has since been designated a terrorist organization by the State Department.
Tepes encouraged violence and Crooksâ extremism, using a Maoist phrase, âPolitical power comes from the barrel of a gun,â which Crooks repeated several times.
In one comment on Oct. 5, 2025, more than a year after Butler, Tepes commented to another user that he had been contacted by both Russian and American intelligence.

Over 480 FBI employees were involved in the Thomas Crooks investigation. Employees conducted over 1,000 interviews, addressed over 2,000 public tips, analyzed data extracted from 13 seized digital devices, reviewed nearly 500,000 digital files, collected, processed, and synchronized hundreds of hours of video footage, analyzed financial activity from 10 different accounts, and examined data associated with 25 social media or online forum accounts.
The FBIâs investigation into Thomas Crooks identified and examined over 20 online accounts, data extracted from over a dozen electronic devices, examination of numerous financial accounts, and over 1,000 interviews and 2000 public tips.
The investigation, conducted by over 480 FBI employees, revealed Crooks had limited online and in person interactions, planned and conducted the attack alone, and did not leak or share his intent to engage in the attack with anyone.
