    • RE: Voter Suppression - a new twist

@manhandler said in Voter Suppression - a new twist:

@bi4smooth You're dumb. 95% of Covid hospitalizations are vaccinated. 5% are not. Let's go back to kindergarten math, k?

Your source is badly misinformed.... and you need to apply even a modicum of critical thinking when you post crap like that. Your numbers don't pass the smell test - not even close!

      What are some real numbers?

So, on Aug 2 (2021), the US CDC reported that there are a little over 60,000 people in the US who are actively (on that date) in Hospital, diagnosed with COVID-19. (in 49 states and 5 territories... 1 state (unlisted by the CDC) is refusing to provided data - Probably Florida: our Governor seems to think this is all a joke).

Of those, 50,000 (yes, Virgina, this is a SPIKE in new cases! That's 80% of the people in Hospital RIGHT NOW) are new patients (admitted THIS WEEK).

      • Don't forget, every week: some go home: family or funeral, some go home...

About 16,000 of those US COVID-19 patients currently in Hospital are in an ICU unit, with another 1,000-2,000 in hospitals that WOULD put them into an ICU unit, but there are none available. (That is between 1 and 2 thousand "loved ones" who CANNOT get the care they need because there is no room)...

but all of that doesn't address your utterly ridiculous contention that 95% were vaccinated...

The CDC doesn't have (or at least doesn't provide a current tally of patients who are considered "breakthrough" - had the vaccine and still got sick enough to need hospitalization... but that's because those numbers are insignificantly low... what they DO have (and publicize) is a running tally - of ALL vaccinated people who have been hospitalized with COVID-19... and on Aug 2 (2021), that number was 7525. TOTAL - from when vaccines were introduced in January/February, 2021 to Aug 2, 2021.

Oh, and of those "breakthrough" cases, 5557 (74% if you like statistics) were age 65 or older!

      This does 2 things:

      • 1 shows your "numbers" to be wildly off-base... (If 95% of hospitalizations were from people who WERE vaccinated, don't you think SOMEONE - in a MEDICAL field, not some political hack/talking head - would be trying to convince the Government to shutdown the vaccination programs? If not in the US, then in any of the OTHER 192 countries in the UN? (Or is this a giant, world-wide conspiracy... probably being run by the lizard-people?)
      • 2 These numbers show why the CDC and FDA are so strongly considering authorizing older, and immuno-compromised people to get a BOOSTER shot of the vaccine. (UPDATE: They authorized boosters for immuno-compromised people TODAY!)

This may come as a shock to you, but people who choose careers in medicine (whether as physicians, nurses, PAs, or other front-line people - or as researchers) rarely, if ever, make that choice because they want to harm people, or even control people. As someone with 3 members of the "medical community" in my family, I can attest that these people want (in general) to help other people - that is their calling. (Yes, there are some who took that career path for monetary reasons... you can't paint a family of professions with one broad stroke and not expect to miss some people! But the VAST majority of the people I know in medicine are in that profession - chose that profession - in order to help people... not make them sick, not to kill them, not for politics (there are, statistically, very few DOCTORS in politics!)

      Or, in English, he said:

I have never felt the need to get married. Neither did she.
When we decided to go to live together we had a party with a small reception and then a trip, as if it were a honeymoon.
It was nice to see both families take action to finish the work on our new home by the scheduled move date. Organize the party, the stages of the journey ..
It was a bit like organizing the wedding, but without the hassle of the ceremony and the legislative risks it entails.
Since that day, we have been living together without problems for 14 years ..

In my own experience, marriage is a construct that was largely based on keeping mothers and fathers together for the betterment of their children. That certainly didn't mean all married couples HAD to have children - but it is instructive to know that in some religions, it IS expected - and that being barren (unable to have children) is a legitimate reason/cause for divorce/annulment in most of those same religions).

I was married once (and had kids)... we're divorced now, and I will not seek "marriage" again... though I would like to find another romantic partner...

@raphjd said in CNN Participates in $200k Go Fund Me Scam Failing to Vet Childless “Single Mother”:

Because liberals don't care about the truth, just the narrative.

Your facts are true (the woman was misleading the CNN reporter)... your characterization less so (typical hyperbole, actually):

No outside fact-checker reported on the woman's status (as NOT the mother of the children in the video)... the ACTUAL mother contacted CNN, and CNN published a complete clarification: (here, if you want to read it). Further, the woman in the interview often cares for those actual children (they are her boyfriend's kids, although they do not LIVE with her)... and she IS facing eviction...

Misleading, and factually unsound? yes. A SCAM (intentionally defrauding people)? not so much...

I'm no fan of CNN - and I think it shows a lack of judgement editorially that they published (and broadcast) this story without proper vetting.

But again, your hyperbolic inflation of the actual facts and failure to look at your own facts (is it a surprise that Charlie Kirk didn't include the fact that CNN "broke the story" that the story was in need of clarification? NO!) severely degrades the validity of your REAL proposition: CNN was easily deceived and was editorially lazy.... and it is a pattern (honestly, it's a pattern at FOX too!)

    • RE: Too late for this guy... will you be next?

@raphjd said in Too late for this guy... will you be next?:

      @bi4smooth

You obviously live under a rock.

The police let the rioters/looters run amuck but went in full force against peaceful anti-mask/lockdown protests.

Liberals constantly told us how rioting and looting didn't spread C-19, while claiming that peaceful protests were super spreader events.

And again, religious gathers were restricted and police putting a stop to them while allowing rioting and looting.

Of course, politicians exempt themselves from their own laws. I am the chairman of my royal borough (not the entire city) and the City is putting in Low Emission Zones across the city. They have exempted themselves from the LEZ rules so they can drive anywhere in the city, without a care, no matter how polluting their cars are. The same applies to the dirty-ass city vehicles, that should have been replaced a decade ago.

You would have a lot more luck "spreading your word" if you weren't so damned hyperbolic... let's just take one of your arguments as an example:

Liberals (wrongly) claimed the BLM marchers weren't spreading COVID because they were wearing masks (some, but certainly not all, were) and were social distancing (laughable!). Their claims were bogus, and can be called out as such without:
      a) calling them all rioters - some were, some weren't... the rioters were arguably not so much there in support of BLM, but in support of ANY protest - they were mostly angry, and, well... any port in a storm! But even if all of the rioters WERE BLM, not all the BLM marchers were rioters... and making them all out to be so is inflamatory, easily debunked, and weakens your argument.
      b) claiming that the events were "super-spreaders" - they were outdoors, and even back then masks and social distancing weren't being pushed for outdoor events.

Again, by hyper-exaggerating the facts, you marginalize your point, lose the "middle of the road" folks you might have otherwise persuaded, and overall weaken your argument.

      Another example:
Religious gatherings were not curtailed... INDOOR religious gatherings were... how do I know? Because my church "moved outdoors"! (I live in Fla... the winter months are our DRY season... moving to the field across from the church property was EASY and the property owner didn't mind one bit! (In fact, he didn't even complain when people left a trashy mess behind and the youth group didn't come to clean up until Wednesday!).

Now, CLEARLY, I'm talking about where I live, and your mileage may have varied... but here in Fla (home of Florida Man - and, no I don't know him - he's a nutjob!), there were LOTS of churches who just moved outside. (That's a lot harder at THIS time of year - we're in our WET season, and the ground is mostly saturated with water 24/7). Northern climates may not have had it so easy - but my daughter was the choir director at a church in NC, and they broadcast their services online via their website (they already live-streamed them pre-covid, so it wasn't a big deal!)

But still, I know that some churches were really put-out by the bans on indoor gatherings... and as I've said before, if those bans were specifically (or even indirectly) targeted to religious services, they'd have a valid constitutional argument! But the bans were a public health issue and applied to ALL indoor gatherings - even (especially?) sporting events and political rallies!

But there were no police in riot gear blocking entrances to churches! And - speaking for us here in Fla - police didn't interfere with pro-mask or anti-mask protesters at all - they just tried to keep them apart and only arrested people who threw things or got violent themselves.

Again: the point you're trying to make is being lost in your hyperbole - which makes your whole argument carry less weight.

But this is the whole problem with our politics today!

It's not enough that you have a better argument or better reasons than the other guy... no, you have to make the "other guy" out to be a traitor, a communist, a nazi, an evil, no-good-in-him, disgrace of a human being! And, naturally the "other guy" retaliates in a like manner.

When the protesters raise their lighters in solidarity in support of someone killed by the police, the "blue line" folk have to describe it as "threatening to burn down the city" or other hyperbolic bullshit.

THAT'S why I get most of my US news from FOREIGN sources... it's not that the foreign sources don't have some bias - face it, we all have SOME bias - but rather they are "removed" from the "burn them at the stake" level of heated rhetoric. Their reporting is calmer, and contains more FACTS than opinions (yes, the choice of WHICH facts to broadcast establishes an opinion... in a perfect world, you would piss gasoline and shit edible food for lower animals... this isn't - and never will be - a perfect world!)

@raphjd said in Too late for this guy... will you be next?:

      @bi4smooth

It could come from the very DNC politicians who said, before Honest Joe became President, that they didn't trust the vaccine.

Religion has special rights to believe whatever stupidity they want and to spew it to anyone and everyone. People have been allowed to kill their kids with a lack of medical care because of their beliefs.

Politicians can spew whatever BS they want and have immunity. Elizabeth Warren and a couple of others come to mind when they were given absolute immunity for libeling and slandering the Covington Kids after the facts were proven.

Then we have to think about all of the politicians who blatantly violate their own C-19 rules. I mean, it can't be that bad if you can "kick it" with celebs without masks as long as it's at a maskless music festival.

We were told, even on this site, that you can't get C-19 if you loot and riot as part of BLM and Antifa.

OK, I was along for the ride until that last statement...

      • BOTH political parties in the US are guilty of politicizing the COVID-19 response, though at current that means that the Republicans are the ones intentionally killing their own voters by convincing them NOT to take the vaccine... That doesn't make the Dems right - but, it does make them safer right now tho...
      • Religious freedom in this country (US) does sometimes have a heavy price... While i agree that preachers (priests) should be "allowed" to tell their flocks that vaccines are good or bad for whatever reason they care to have... I do NOT agree that public health rules prohibiting large gatherings - including religious ones - to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is an attempt to stop/block their free expression of religion. (It might be different if the rules were SOLELY applied to religious activities - but that wasn't the case. The rules were broad - all-encompassing, even!)
      • Hypocritical and Politician are essentially synonyms... How many employment rules has the US Congress passed - that exempted Congress from those rules? I could spout 2-dozen examples of guilty parties from both DEM and REP sides of the isle... it's not a partisan thing, it appears to be a "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely" kind of thing...
      • Again, politicians from both sides have problems here... Nancy and her hairdresser during COVID-19 is no worse than Cruz and his "escape" to Mexico during the TX power outages... it's privileged politicians taking advantage of, and abusing that privilege for personal gain... and it should be punished (at the polls)... VTBO (vote the bums out!)!!! Sadly, the typical US voter thinks that the ENTIRE US Congress is full of corrupt, awful human beings - EXCEPT for their own representative and/or senator!

Oh, and that last one is just bullshit... no one has claimed that believing in BLM, Antifa - or Trumpism, for that matter - has any affect on the virus. I'm pretty sure the virus isn't checking politics, race, or religion before infecting people! You had a good article there, up until that last bullet... (Not that you give a damn about my critiques! LOL)

BLM rallies without masks in the middle of the pandemic were STUPID and DANGEROUS...
But, so were Trump rallies without masks in the middle of the pandemic!
Neither political party has a leg-up (much less a monopoly) on stupidity in this COVID-19 thing! Both parties allowed and fully participated in making medical responses to COVID-19 political footballs... as Shakespeare wrote: "A pox on both your houses!"

    • Too late for this guy... will you be next?

      RE: Link

      Here it is in short:

      • Scott Apley was a 45-year-old, healthy husband and father of an infant child
      • Scott Apley was deceived by his political heroes into believing that the COVID-19 vaccines did not work, that masks were ineffective, and that COVID-19 was "no big deal"
      • Scott Apley was elected to his Texas town's City Council on a platform that was largely COVID-19 defiance, and little else...
      • In May, 2021, Scott Apley invited his friends & constituents to a bar for a "mask burning party" - even though it was too far for him to attend himself, he hoped lots of people would attend.
      • On July 30, 2021 Scott Apley likened the COVID-19 responses - like requiring vaccines by employers, and requiring masks by some municipalities - as NAZI propaganda in a Facebook post
      • Just 5 days later, Scott Apley was admitted to the hospital & diagnosed with COVID-19
      • 3-4 days later still, Scott Apley died of COVID-19, leaving his wife and son ALSO infected with the disease. No word yet on their conditions.

I'll leave it to you: was Scott Apley killed, tragically, by COVID-19? Or, was he killed by the mis-information being spread by people who, apparently, think this is a joke and that it's not real - and whose peddling of anti-science bullshit convinced Scott Apley to NOT protect his wife and child from this virus - costing them everything in the process.

Sadly, the misinformation campaigns seem to be aimed at my own political party - the Republican Party. It is no shocker to me that Scott Apley was a Republican. My worry is that stories like his already litter the Internet:

      • Preacher who said prayer, not vaccines, would protect you from COVID-19... dies of COVID-19
      • Congressman who ran and won on an anti-COVID science, anti-vax platform in LA.... dies from COVID-19 before he can even be sworn in... his wife wins the special election to "replace" him
      • The leading Conspiracy Theorist in Norway - yup, died of COVID-19 back in April (link)

IMHO (and you can call me a conspiracy theorist on this one): this anti-vax and anti-science misinformation is coming from the same foreign adversaries as tried to influence the 2016 & 2020 elections: Russia, China, Iran, N Korea, and likely others. This is a non-traditional war on our country, and the goal is to get us to turn on ourselves - and if a sizeable part of the population can be killed off by the "gift" of COVID-19, then so-be-it!

Their goal is to de-stabilize our country, and we're falling for it: hook, line, and sinker!

I will pray for the family of Scott Apley (there is a go-fund-me page to help support his family, but I believe site rules prohibit THAT link in here - just google his name and gofundme and it'll come up).

Your throttling could be from any number of sources - including the 90-100 kb/s being the download speed of whomever is leeching from you.

But that said, also look throughout the settings in your client - sometimes there are multiple ways to throttle upload speeds (including limiting the number of connections) that all have to be removed to enjoy FULL upload capabilities!

@raphjd said in CDC now says Vaccinated are the ones spreading the new Delta variant.:

      @bi4smooth

Lots of people got C-19 and never knew it, unless now you are gonna claim that Fauci and the CDC are liars., but only on this topic.

This applies to both the vaccinated and unvaccinated.

Hell, I could have had it 45 times before I was privileged enough to be allowed to get the shots. I could have had it 45 times since I got the vaccine.

Only a fool doesn't believe that Bat Lady, Fauci and Bill Gate's Eco-Health created C-19 from the samples Bat Lady collected from that mine in 2009 after all the miners got sick.

I do agree about the Indian variant being a mutated version of the one created in the lab.

Well, depending on who you ask (and there isn't much evidence to back up either story - the Chinese have pretty well scorched the Earth trying to make sure we never know... which arguably might lean (even heavily) towards the man-made-accidental-release theory), the original COVID-19 was a man-made variant, or a nature-made variant... of a virus that Mother Nature put here first.

Still, regardless of the origin of the FIRST one, the Alpha, Beta, Gamma, & Delta variants were all NATURE made... and you can't turn off Mother Nature, and she's a real bitch when it comes to making living things stronger/faster/better!

And now, there's a new Lambda variant - they don't know much about it yet, but theoretically it could make Delta (which is the one responsible for the re-ignition of the pandemic) look like childs-play. (It could theoretically also be more like the others: Original, Alpha, Beta, etc...) Only time will tell.

What we DO know is that Mother Nature is still hard at work trying to create a COVID-19 that successfully defends itself against the immune responses generated by the COVID-19 vaccines... and WHEN she succeeds, we start the vaccine development process all over again - and until we get new vaccines against these new viruses, we'll be helpless (and dying).

In the meantime, I mask up when I'm in public... because, whether I'm vaxxed up or not, I don't want this bug in me! And I live in a hot-spot filled with "it's a freedom issue" idiots and assholes. What can I say: we're home to "Florida Man" and it's showing!

One last thing: studies have shown that immunity from the original COVID-19 infection (derived from getting it - and, presumably, surviving it) does little to protect you against the Delta variant... your body's NATURAL immune response from that strain doesn't recognize the Delta variant as a different verse to the same song. Likewise the immunity derived from the AZ & J&J vaccines (which are based on COVID-19 DNA) are significantly reduced against the Delta variant.

However, immunity derived from the mRNA vaccines seems to be still significantly effective against Delta - albeit not AS effective as against the original - but that is possibly because the Delta is so much more aggressive and virulent than the original to begin with...

Regardless, the exciting thing about all of this is the effectiveness of the mRNA vaccines and their ability to trigger our immune systems to attack specific proteins... this could be used to treat HIV (its original intended target), some cancers, possibly even sickle-cell and leukemia!

The research is new - and therefore, we shouldn't get our hopes up too much... but the efficacy of the mRNA against COVID-19 was expected to be in the 60-70% range... they never DREAMED it'd be in the 95-97% range (what it was against the original COVID-19 strain)....

I've been saying for several years now: my grandchildren are going to live in wonderful (or possibly frightening) times: we're unlocking medicine and material science unlike any other time in human history... used properly, we could see many diseases and ailments completely wiped out! Used improperly, we could have new "tools of warfare" that will scare the pants off of you!

We already live in interesting times (Chinese curse being the origin of that statement)... and they're not looking like they're going to get boring any time soon!

That said, I think we should think about storing more than plant DNA in those arctic vaults... we should start storing significant human knowledge up there. IMHO, we're going to eventually kill ourselves - the human race will extinguish itself completely, or at least knock ourselves back to the stone-age. We should leave something for the "next thing" to get some of our technology: tools, materials - maybe not nuclear physics tho LOL!

For a reference, read Larry Niven's old SciFi book: The Mote in God's Eye... a really good read, if you ask me! (advances in material science could include a frictionless toilet! LOL)

      • Correction: The Mote in God's Eye was a collaboration between Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle (link)

@manhandler said in 99.7% Survive, so why a vaccine when TB kills x1000:

Why the hell are we worried about Covid when Tuberculosis is the number one killer? It's ridiculous.

Where do you get your data? Tuberculosis is not even ON THE LIST of major killers in the world... it's a disease caused by a bacteria (not a virus) that is generally treatable by antibiotics. While also highly communicable, TB is seldom deadly in this century - except in parts of the world without access to quality medical care.

Stick that jab right up your ass, big pharma making a killing, literally.

As it was widely publicized during the Trump Administration, 'Bit Pharma' made their profits on the front end here! That is, the US Government paid (handsomely) for the research that resulted in the vaccines, and the companies get to keep the new technologies that resulted. **BUT the COVID-19 vaccine itself has to be sold/given to the US Government - AT COST.

Put more simply: Pfizer made their profits from COVID-19 vaccine in 2020. They are required (by contract - and Trump knows contracts!) to sell their vaccines (whether 1 does, or 100 billion doses) at NO PROFIT. That was the trade-off for taking the Government money up-front!

Such morons... No word about Tuberculosis. No word about heart disease. Nothing about the actual things that are killing people... No... just take this vaccine so pharmaceutical companies can make billions in profits. You guys are dumb.

COVID-19 has killed more than 4 million people world-wide - and the numbers continue to rise, EVEN in countries like the US that have easy (and free) access to vaccines... vaccines that are over 90% effective at preventing hospitalization from the disease.

If you think its bad now - with the DELTA variant so much more virulent (and affecting kids) - just wait a few more months. Mother Nature altered COVID-19 to create the DELTA variant so that the virus could survive better.... there's already a LAMBDA variant that we don't know much about.... but there's BOUND to be a new variant soon - what with the virus spreading so widely already - and it could (one eventually will) make the DELTA variant look like a walk-in-the-park.

Mother Nature never sleeps, and she does what she can to help ALL species evolve and proliferate on Her planet! She will, given the opportunity, improve on the COVID-19 virus yet again!

How do we stop it? Vaccines and masks.... DOH!

So how do we get from your original absurd claim:

      • that people WITH the vaccine are the only ones spreading the DELTA variant of COVID-19

The fact is that the vaccinated can spread the DELTA variant virus about the same as UN-vaccinated people, but that is immaterial the the fact that they (the vaccinated) don't get as sick.

      All the way to:

      • There is no COVID-19, it's just the common cold and all these people are just dying of natural causes

It is TRUE - COVID-19 is a natural cause, because it came from Nature... Nature is always making new things... new viruses, new worms, new birds, new dog breeds, new human variants! Granted the tiny changes made in each of these cases is exaggerated in something as tiny as a virus...

But I'll grant you - it is possible that CIVID-19 itself may have been man-made. But the DELTA variant is all nature... improving on itself, the way Nature always does....

Oh, and if there are no tests for COVID-19, how do we know what a DELTA variant actually IS?

Talk in circles much? (actually, in my brief experience with you, that seems to the ONLY way you talk!)

      • Did the vaccine turn the one apple yellow?
      • Did the vaccine turn the orange INTO an apple?
      • Would eating any of the apples turn you into a computer?

Now, here's a 2nd Grade question: What is the RATIO of RED apples to GOLDEN ones?

And an even HARDER, 4th Grade question: From the data provided, does having the vaccine alter your odds of dying from COVID-19?

      Answers:

      • no, the vaccine did not alter the apple colors - the apples are just representations
      • no, the vaccine did not change the nature of the apples
      • no, there is nothing you could eat, drink, or even DO to turn you into a computer - this isn't Star Trek!
      • There are TWICE the number of RED apples (dead people who WERE NOT vaccinated) as there are GOLDEN apples (dead people who WERE vaccinated)
      • The odds of dying of COVID-19 are DOUBLED if you are NOT vaccinated

I'm sorry, but from your earlier posts, it appears that you will need to attend summer school - for the next decade - to catch up.

I do not support hitting animals

But you keep defending and downplaying it.

Humans have been doing a lot of things for millennia, does that make those ok too?

If you mean to ask: Do you dislike hitting animals enough to make shit up about the IOC and the German coach accused of hitting a horse?

      No

I do dislike the fact that animals are being abused - still - in 2021, but not so much that I'd overlook my own, personal, moral code (about lying and misrepresenting things) to stop it.

Rather, I have faith that real data - not hyper-sensationalized, and not factually invalid data - as well as a real sense of moral outrage - are sufficient to help put a stop to it.

Indeed, I believe that using false and/or or grossly exaggerated information actually hurts the cause: because it gives real and valid "ammunition" to the perpetrators to deny their actions!

I have not heard of other incidents - from the same coach?

For some reason, you want to derail it so we don't talk about fake as fuck fact-checkers.

It's not just the douche bags on FB, but everywhere.

I'll discuss the Facebook fact checkers when you explain why the price of Chinese rice in China is higher than it is in the US.

@raphjd said in OIC soft on animal abuse:

      @bi4smooth

I used to own a horse. I even have the tattoo of him on my arm. I never used a whip or crop.

The crop incident was on Friday and the punch was on Saturday.

I'm not sure why you are trying to justify the abuse.

The IOC does have the right to punish people. It's not just up to the governing body of that particular sport.

If you want, we can go your way and say that the UIPM is weak on animal abuse.

Ah, the "but the punch didn't cause injury" defense. Do you know how many shitty people use that defense in court?

To be clear, you supporting punching animals, as long as there are no visible injuries.

You have problems with reading comprehension, don't you?

So, back to the Olympics: Let me say ahead of time that I do not agree with what the coach did, but your characterization here - without details - is more inflammatory than it deserves to be... and your castigation of the IOC (or even Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee) is misplaced.

Your owning a horse and never using a whip or a crop is an indication only that you never trained your horse in equine competition. I won't say I agree with the use of a crop (a whip would be virtually unheard of!), but again, it isn't used the way you are describing it. (Try making your argument against a REAL issue, and not a FAKE NEWS version of that issue!)

I also have a swimming pool, but I don't own a speedo bathing suit - because I don't race in my pool.

FWIW: The "crop incident" happened AFTER the "punch" incident - the rider in question wasn't on or near a horse the day before. (facts!)... watch the damned video - you can see the rider start to hit the horse with her riding crop AFTER being screamed at by her coach to do so, and AFTER her coach punched the hind quarter of the horse!

You are delusional. The IOC does NOT have the jurisdiction to penalize a non-athlete at the competition. They COULD HAVE (but WOULDN'T HAVE) overruled the UIPM with regards to the "athlete", but not the coach.

Your comment that the UIPM "went soft" on the coach is also rife with disinformation. The "black card" issued to the coach is the MAXIMUM penalty they could have applied AT THE COMPETITION. Further, there is room for further investigation later - where the "accused" will be given a chance to "defend themselves" - something your fascist-leaning ways may not be accustomed to called "due process".

And, I will reiterate that your original claim that there was a 1-day suspension of the coach is hogwash and totally false. She was issued a black-card - expelling her from the competition - the maximum penalty allowed under the rules. Of course, in your more fascist-leaning ways, the firing squad option was just not available.

Finally, WRT the "damage" done to the horse by the "punch" - watch the damned video. [mike drop].
I do not support hitting animals - but I also understand that animals in this particular environment are currently controlled by striking them with a riding crop... something humans have been doing to horses for millennia. That doesn't mean it shouldn't end, but tell me - do you really think kicking your heels into the side of your horse wasn't uncomfortable?

      PETA is shit, at best.

      We've talked about them before.

They killed more animals in their shelters than anyone else, based on the Virginia records. Virginia has the strictest animal shelter records requirements in the US.

Fauci does not have to actually do any research himself, just authorize it, to be guilty.

We already know Fauci's mentality, with "GOF research is worth a global pandemic or 2".

We also know that he loves GOF so much that after it was banned in the US, he paid Bill Gate's Eco-Health to do it in China to skirt the US ban.

He lied to Rand Paul over the official definition of GOF, in the Senate hearing. The definition came directly from the NIH and it matched perfectly what GOF is.

You know as much about NIH definitions as Rand Paul... an ophthalmologist who seems to think that "any Dr is an expert Dr!'

@raphjd said in Fact-checkers are fake news:

      @bi4smooth

Ok, let's start off with your biggest lie in your post. You love freedom when it works against conservatives. You hate freedom when it comes to going against the liberal hivemind, regardless of the topic.

"Big tech" has special rights under Section 230, that no one else has. They get to play publisher and platform, whichever suits them at any particular moment.

BTW, I see that you ignored the entire point of my post, that "fact-checkers" are full of shit, partisan hacks

I am not the straw-man you're looking for, you Fascist, NAZI, Trumpite!

I even gave examples of how other's FREEDOM goes against my personal beliefs, but are protected - and that I respect their rights!

Your un-proven and factless claim that I do not support similar freedoms for all are baseless and false. Fascist Pig!

I didn't ignore your complaint about fact-checkers: I rendered it moot.

The truth, or lack thereof, of your post does not matter in a legal sense... Facebook has the right to delete your entire account, much less a single post, simply because they learned... that you use non-flushable wipes to clean the makeup off of your pimply ass, and flush them anyway! (Or any other ridiculous reason you care to come up with!)

FYI: Section 230 protects my TINY site every bit as much as it protects Twitter and Facebook (and Parler, Telegram, etc)... We (including Parler & Facebook) are not publishers:

      • A Publisher has control over content BEFORE it is published.
      • A Publisher pays Editors to control what gets covered and what does not.

Take away Section 230, and you completely obliterate the likes of Parler, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Telegram, YouTube and so on... EVERY site that allows users to post content WITHOUT editorial filtering - including sites that allow user COMMENTS! All content would have to go thru a "moderation and editing" process, or else the company would be at risk of being sued for the content some 3rd party made.

I will say this: I agree that Social Media in general is causing as much harm as it is good... and most of the harm comes from so-called anonymous posting.

IMHO, if you want to reform Social Media (including Parler, Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc), you need to start by removing the ability to post anonymously. That doesn't mean your personal info needs to be accessible to the PUBLIC at all times, but the platforms could be required to have proof or reliable identity information for each user, and when properly subpoenaed, they should be required to "give up" who made a particular post... And if the identity information proved to be false or invalid, the site could be held responsible - in lieu of the end user.

So when someone "anonymously" says Trump should be assassinated, the Secret Service actually CAN get a real name to follow up with! And when someone claims Google is run by Nazis, the company CAN pursue a defamation lawsuit against them!

Not against some "anonymous user #224", but against Joe User, of 1234 Main St, Anytown, USA... and monetary damages can be achieved for illegal behavior. And Criminal Behavior can be punished with criminal prosecutions.

Note that this would necessarily ALSO result in certain kinds of "segregation"... citizens of Iran, for example, might not be allowed to post on topics relating the US elections - because the status of their location would make legal challenges to their behavior impossible. But, that would be up to the site: just remember... in this case (which is not the way it is now): if the user cannot be prosecuted, the site can!

I repeat: your intelligence (and ability to read and comprehend what you read) approaches that of a 1st Grader...
