I must say though - I like your idea about counting COVID-19 cases the same way we get race data in the census:

      Just ask!

If people who die of COVID-19 just self-identify themselves, the count will be FAR more accurate!

      I see your logic now!

Your way of counting covid deaths is the same as counting Sen Warren as a full-blooded Native American.

Of course, you have an agenda. I mean, you are advocating violating people's human rights covid.

You know, this is the same argument we have about the "massive vote fraud" in the 2020 election results:

      • I apply high-school-level math and statistics to say "these numbers aren't perfect, but they're close enough to be useful"
      • You apply kindergarten-level-math and interpret any anomalous result as proof-of-failure

      alt text

Arguing statistical analysis with you is like wrestling with a pig:

      • you both get dirty and covered in shit and mud
      • the pig (that's you, @raphjd) likes it!

    • RE: Beetlejuice calls cops insurrectionists

@raphjd said in Beetlejuice calls cops insurrectionists:

Chicago mayor Beetlejuice has called the cops refusing to get the vaccine, "insurrectionists".

Of course, this is true because a Democrat said it.

Just goes to show you; Trumpites aren't the only ones who can't seem to get the word "insurrection" out of their heads! This Mayor, though, has used the word improperly on 2 fronts:

      • "Insurrection: a violent uprising against an authority or government" - Oxford English Dictionary

The cops aren't being violent, and they're not proposing to overthrow the Chicago City Government - they're just defying an order.

This is their right! They can choose to not get vaccinated! (They cannot, necessarily, do so without consequences, but they can do it!). The City has said they'll be "sent home on a non-pay status" - which, if they're willing to do that, so be it! In spite of what Trumpites would tell you, this is still a free country!

Just remember though: free from arrest and imprisonment doesn't mean free from all consequences!

This is called "peaceful protest" - even if the end result is more violence in the city because of a lower police presence, so long as the sitting-out-cops aren't the source of the violence, it's a peaceful protest - no matter how much the politicians want to pitch a hissy-fit over it.

IMHO, they should take the shot. We prioritized front-line and first responder workers for the vaccines in the beginning, they should have taken the shots then.

But that's my opinion, and EACH of the Chicago PD officers who want to say NO have the right to do so. However, according to their Mayor and Police Chief, if they say no, they cannot remain an officer of the Chicago PD. That's not a violation of their rights! Jailing them because they refused to take the shots would be a violation of their rights! Limiting where and how they can work - for the city - based on their decision is not a violation of their rights!

For years, Disney had a policy: no employee with facial hair would ever work in a public-facing job! You could:

      • wash dishes in the back of the kitchen, but not pick up the trash in the dining room
      • Sew the costumes for Cinderella and Prince Charming, but not wear those costumes in the parade
      • direct a blockbuster movie, but not attend the public screening

They have relaxed those rules today, but back in the 80's and 90's, they were FAMOUS for the inventive ways they got around the ever-expanding employment protection laws! To get around those restrictions, all one had to do was shave!

There were other, similar restrictions: hair length, hair color, tattoos, piercings, etc... all upheld year after year in the courts! Freedom doesn't mean free of consequences, it means free from jail! Besides: Disney offered them non-public facing work alternatives!

Your fellow liberals and MSM tended to lie about Trump; ie feeding the royal koi incident. It was an absolute lie and you people went mental over it.

Cruz is following what St Fauci and Biden said. If you are vaccinated, then you don't need to wear a mask. Of course, that was one of countless mask flip flops by Fauci and Biden.

You stupid, short-sighted, twit - I was talking about when Texas had the state-wide power outage (because they eschewed the shared / interconnected power grid) in the midst of a record-setting cold snap last winter and he (Cruz) escaped, with his family, to Mexico - violating the COVID travel restrictions, AND his own public musings about how great the TX power infrastructure was and how fast they would have the power back on... he slithered back home pronto (leaving the rest of his family in Mexico) as soon as he was outed!

It was funny, except for how SAD it was that he would make such a stupid, "unforced error" in politics. He will have to defend that in every election/re-election campaign for the rest of his political life!

      @bi4smooth

You didn't talk about why they are worse in 2021 than in 2020, you twat.

      You are a DNC whore.

As always, you will do anything to deflect away from your BFF being a fucking liar and idiot.

Dude - you totally miss the forest for the trees here!

I'm beginning to think you really ARE just plain stupid

Let me spell it out for you:

The fact that the number of deaths in 2020 (you like to say they overcounted these numbers) was higher than in 2021 DOES NOT HELP!

In 2020, when there were no vaccines, the deaths were (it can be reasonably assumed) generally equal among Republicans and Democrats - we were ALL dying, pretty much at the same rate.

In 2021, when there have STARTED to be vaccines, the deaths are stilting more and more at Republicans - because we're the ones refusing the vaccines!

Let's make those REAL NUMBERS... let's generalize that 50% of the dead were registered voters with a party affiliation. I'll do the math step-wise because I know statistics and arithmetic aren't your strong suit (academically, I think fiction writing may have been your only strong suit!)

      • In 2020, with about 352,000 dead total, and half are Partisan Voters: that's 176,000 dead partisan voters
        (352,000 divided by 2 is 176,000).
Divide them evenly between the parties:
        -- That's about 88,000 dead Republicans
        -- That's about 88,000 dead Democrats
      • In 2021, with about 372,000 dead total, and half are Partisan Voters: that's 186,000 dead partisan voters
        (372,000 divided by 2 is 186,000).
However, now about 80% of those are Republicans who refuse the vaccines:
        -- That's about 148,800 dead Republicans
        -- That's about 37,200 dead Democrats

Now, I admit that with the new voting laws in some States, about 40,000 of those dead Republicans will still be allowed to vote in 2022... but the math still ain't pretty.

Tell me again how we're "winning" here? How is this good for Republicans?

You voted for the guy that is in the pocket of Bejing.

I voted against the guy who was under the control of Putin. It's different, even if you want to say otherwise.

You love RINOs, swampies, and warhawks. What's new about that?

Kinzinger, unlike you, is a life-long Republican who has served our country militarily (for 2 decades), as well as politically (for over a decade). You, on the other hand are a 5-year-old Republican - and even then, you're a Trumpite, not a Republican... which is evidenced by your "litmus test" for Republicanism: follow Trump, or you're not a Republican.

Oh, your BFF killed our energy independence, which directly benefitted Putin. So that makes you a defacto bitch of Putin.

My BFF is Asian and a naturalized US Citizen - he can't vote, much less have that kind of influence on the US economy.

As for our energy independence, you're a complete idiot

      • First, other than a few executive orders, NONE of the Biden Agenda has been approved... he has neither hurt nor helped our "energy independence" because the Dems can't get off their dicks long enough to count roll-call!
      • Second, the pipelines he shut down by executive order helped CANADIAN oil fields, not US fields...
      • Third, the higher prices actually HELP our energy independence! It costs more to get oil and natural gas out of the ground here... (think: fracking) and when oil was at historically low prices, we were cutting back our domestic production - because it cost too much to get it out of the ground! Now with higher prices, it's competitive again to do so! (I know this because my son works in the Oil & Natural Gas industry in NW Pennsylvania!) [NOT Politics, ECONOMICS! - I know it's a big word - just Google it!]

BTW, I know where crybaby's district is, I grew up (mostly) between Chicago and Rockford. I've actually been to his district.

Umm, they funded the Bidens or have you forgotten?!

Clearly, you can't handle your booze. You seriously need to get your mug out of Pelosi's gin-soaked pussy farting vag.

Um, your Russian handlers have made "offsetting" claims about chinese support of the Democrats... just as there have been no "confirmed" cases of Russians making cash donations to Trump's campaign, there have been none with China /Biden

Honestly, dude, you are either unintentionally stupid or think the rest of us are: it is illegal for foreign countries - whether individuals or businesses or Governments - to donate or otherwise get involved in US elections. That's why the "Russia Investigation" against Trump led to an impeachment!

I'm sorry, it was crooked-as-fuck for Trump to allow the Russians "into" his campaign - in any way, even just accepting opposition research from them - and it would be impeachable and equally crooked-as-fuck for Biden and the Chinese... or Biden and the English, for crissake!

The whole story line was a made-up Trumpy "but they do it too" line of bullshit trying to cover his own illegal-assed-self.

Of course, none of it was eventually proven - but honestly, if I'd had doubts about Russian/Trump ties, they were answered (confirmed) when the Trumpies started this "but they do it too" bullshit!

But even so, the Chinese have been PUBLIC about their support for Trumpist things - as noted before, because they feel they destabilize our society, and distracts us from them as a major "competitor" on the World Stage.

      Christ man, get better sources!

This shit is no better than the leftist Dems who desperately claimed (in 2016 - during the campaign) that Trump had a secret male lover (if he did, they successfully kept is quiet - which is doubtful, though that is what the leftists would want you to believe... IMHO, it's far more likely (critical thinking, remember?) that it was made up bullshit from the start, and the lack of evidence wasn't a cover-up, it never existed!)

      @bi4smooth

Ah, so you are saying that they have virtually no one dying or getting covid, then since those 2 countries have the highest vaccination rates in the world.

Go ahead - defend the misinformation from your Russian Comrades... it's what you do!

The problem is, when you spout lies about "generally available" data, you're easy to expose, Comrade! So tell me: how does Putin's ass smell today?

Israeli death tolls from COVID-19 aren't significantly higher than other places... their current (8-day average) of test positivity is just 1.5% (very low) - a testament to their nearly 71% partially or fully--vaccinated rate (65% fully vaccinated)...

But, "one of the most vaccinated countries in the world", Israel is not...

      • The UK (where @raphjd, the Russian Troll Doll claims to live) is ahead of Israel in vaccination rates: 72% fully or partially vaccinated, 66.5% fully vaccinated.
      • UAE has the world's highest partial vaccination rate of 95%, with a fully vaccinated rate of about 85%
      • Cuba is still playing catch-up (after initially being denied assistance by some vaccine providers, and eschewing the 1-dose J&J style vaccines): 86% have at-least 1-dose, but only 60% fully vaccinated - one of the widest margins in the world because they tried so hard to get those FIRST SHOTS into arms of citizens!

Israel, like the US and Germany and well, like a lot of the world right now, is "in the middle of the pack" when it comes to vaccination (and death) rates...

Spin us another tale, will you Uncle Vladimir?

Fuck it, we need to go back to anyone who MIGHT have come close to another who MIGHT have possible been near someone who MIGHT have had covid and stubbed their toe, is strictly due to covid.

Just count absolutely everything as due to covid, then use those figures to justify more lockdowns and other shit. Oh wait, we already did that and somewhat still do that.

You may remember that the UK's version of Fauci (2 doctors, actually) was forced to admit that they lied about the stats to get their way.

Again, Comrade - it's easy to point the finger and say "look, they got it wrong" - ironically, this is EXACTLY what I was saying to Dems in 2016 when they were pointing out Trump's every flaw and misstep!

It's a FUCK LOAD harder to actually do it better!

So far we have this from you:

      • Only count those who actually died from Covid-19

Great - but look deeper, dipshit - and your "simple solution" falls to shit in a heartbeat.

And your response to that is: here are some examples of where they are counting obviously wrong numbers...

So, let's get back to it then: you're really good at pointing out their errors.... so, posit a solution, dipstick!

Show us YOUR criteria - actual criteria, not just "pie in the sky" ideas...

You know, if you want to throw shit at the Biden Administration, why are you focusing solely on the COVID response? The immigration shit-show on the southern border is just as bad now as it was a year ago, if not worse!

And the Biden failures there aren't resulting in mostly-Republican voters dying, either!

The Russian-Troll-Farm-Fed lies about COVID being a lie, or that vaccines don't work, or that it's all been overblown are SHITE! (To use a UK term!) They're designed to make our own citizens NOT follow the science!

Do you think the Russians are having trouble getting vaccines into arms? No, they're having trouble getting enough vaccines! Period! Those they have are going into Russian arms as fast as they can get them! Same for the Chinese and the N Koreans and the (insert non-Western Democracy here)...

Jen Psaki, as always, made up a bunch of shit to justify Dem leaders not wearing masks.

Rules for thee, but not for me.

It reminds me of 20 Jan when Biden signed the EO that required masks on all federal property, but then took his family to the Lincoln Memorial and they were all maskless.

What's good for the goose, is good for the gander! Biden is an old fool, and probably forgot his mask in the Oval Office... But Mother Jill should have caught this blunder! We don't expect a man of his years to remember everything - that's why he as a wife! LOL

On a serious note: when will politicians learn that they are public figures... and as such, they WILL BE and SHOULD BE judged on the personal decisions they make - ESPECIALLY when we're talking about personal behaviors!

Biden isn't the first to stick his foot in his own ass with something like this, nor will he be the last. And the media (MSM media, in addition to the "opposition" medai) will always EAT THIS SHIT UP! It's easy headline-grabbing, click-bait-worthy material! Cha-Ching!

When the Republicans were in power, they (MSM and LEFT-Wing media) loved to highlight Trump gaffes of this type, and God knows they hounded Sen. Cruz (TX) when he left TX to escape the power outages!

Bejing Biden and GOFR Fauci said that Covid is a "pandemic of the unvaccinated".

ROFL - as-if China was in any way supportive of Biden! (Covered in another thread, so I'm not repeating myself here)...

But Comrade, you need to learn how to read and interpret English better... when we say that most of the people dying from COVID-19 and related illnesses, that doesn't mean that 100.000% of the deaths come from that... that kind of absolutism doesn't exist ANYWHERE in nature!

Funny how fully vaccinated people keep dying from Covid if it's a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

Colin Powell, while vaccinated, was being treated for cancer: multiple myeloma - a blood cancer that decimated his immune system. Remember: for the vaccine (any vaccine) to work, there has to be an immune system for it to enhance! Sadly, General/Secretary Powell's immune system was badly weakened - not just by the cancer, but also by its treatment - making any vaccine of far less of a benefit to him.

THIS IS WHY it is important for even vaccinated people to wear masks in public! You never know whether that diner next to you, or fan seated next to you, or patient next to you in the waiting room - has cancer, or is diabetic, or has active HIV...

Let's not forget that Chop Suey Joe said, 8 months into the pandemic, that Trump had no plan to end the pandemic, but Joe did. Oddly, 9 months into CCP Joe's term, he hasn't ended the pandemic, despite having Trump's vaccines.

LOL - I'm HAPPY to claim partial Republican help and responsibility in BLOCKING the Biden FISCAL NIGHTMARE Agenda... With a little help from the (happily dysfunctional) Dems, that shit ain't gone nowhere! (And let's hope we can KEEP it that way!!)

However, I don't think I'd take such a gleeful tone in claiming Republican responsibility for blocking Biden's COVID-19 response... especially when MOST of the dead and dying are our own people...

That kind of argument is like decrying the supposed virtues of wearing a seatbelt by using your own accident as an example: you lived in spite of not wearing your seatbelt, but your spouse and 4 children all did die, even though they WERE wearing seatbelts... is that really a win for you?

@raphjd said in 2020 vs 2021 so far - US Covid death figures:

In 2020, even with much looser measurements on how to count Covid deaths, there were 352,000 recorded deaths in the US and that was before we had the vaccine and the science.

As of 17 Oct 2021, with the stricter covid death counting, the science, and the vaccines, there have been 372,300 covid deaths in the US.

700,000 dead in 2 years (and still counting)...

Just another Seasonal Flu.... why all the fuss, right?

On a more serious note: anyone else considering that wearing a mask during flu season (regardless of COVID) wouldn't be such a bad idea? Even (especially) post-COVID?

      The same principles apply:

      • the virus has to be in a fluid to survive (exposure to pure oxygen in the air is deadly to it)
      • those fluid droplets that have the virus in them are pretty easily stopped by masks - even cloth masks - because the droplets are not microscopic
      • the virus doesn't survive well on surfaces, so masks that primarily knock-down the droplets (as they are being expelled - through your breath) are efficient, though not perfect.

If we could cut the Flu losses (deaths) each year in half, or better, wouldn't that be worth wearing a mask during those months? It would for me

NOTE: I'm not recommending (nor supporting) mandatory masks for flu season... just thinking that this new COVID habit of wearing a mask might be useful to keep around AFTER COVID!

Well, you brought your patron saint into it, I see.

OK, super-awful-man, let's sit down and write a manual on how to count all these bodies, and tell which ones died from what.

      Let's start with:

      • "They had COVID-19" - check! Count +1
      • Unless they had a gunshot wound - uncheck! Count -1
      • Unless that was self-inflicted - a suicide by gunshot vs suffocating to death hasn't been all that uncommon - check! Count +1
      • Unless they had a history of suicidal thoughts - uncheck! Count -1
      • Unless that history was years old and they were being successfully treated for mental illness prior to getting COVID-19 - check! Count +1

Just how deep do you want to go, Sherlock? Remember, you have about 30 seconds to decide, because the bodies are stacked up and this is - by far - not the biggest piece of paperwork (much less handling the dead bodies work) on your plate today!

      • there would be no air pollution, just suck it all in and clean it! Problem solved.
      • there would be no ocean pollution, just send out some ships and collect it all! Problem solved!

Damn! I didn't realize you thought SO DEEPLY about these things! It's ALL SO EASY when you think about it AS DEEPLY AS YOU DO!

For your next act, why don't you propose that Jews actively support the re-election of Ebrahim Raisi (President of Iran)!

Your apparent knowledge of International Politics would fill a tome almost as long as that long-famous best-seller: "Hasidic Jewish Pork Recipes for the Whole Family"!

      @bi4smooth

Keep sniffing Pelosi's gin-soaked pussy farts.

You don't give a fuck what your fellow liberals do, but you have a pathological need to screech like a crack whore in church about 6 Jan.

LOL - I bring up Jan 6 a lot less than you bring up the 2020 election! (2 losses in your court there, bub... your guy lost - by a wide margin in 2020; and your guy's attempt to overthrow the Government and retain power -- the FIRST such attempt in US History! -- was equally lost. The latter was just pathetic, as is your support of it!).

While you seem to think my opposition to Trumpism is anti-Republican, I personally think your support of Trumpism is anti-American. Go figure!

I've mentioned him before, but count me a fan of IL Congressman Adam Kinzinger... a Republican not willing to sacrifice US Democracy to service a megalomaniac of a President - even if he IS in the same political party! Kinzinger was (and still is) a hero of an Air Force Pilot in Iraq & Afghanistan (he is still a Lt. Colonel in the USAF-Reserve); and he is as-well a HERO in the US House - standing up for Democracy in the face of considerable opposition from within his own Party.

Of course, Trump/Putin is trying to oust him... but he won his District (near Chicago) by a nearly 2-1 margin in 2020... Good luck with that one, bub!

If you are a REAL American - even if a Democrat - you should look at the Country First PAC.... These are perilous times for democracy... sometimes its more important to protect the COUNTRY than it is to protect the PARTY....

Because I don't see 6 Jan as being as evil as you do, I'm "treasonous". Typical liberal.

You downplay everything your fellow liberals do, so you can screech about 6 Jan.

You sad, pathetic man. Your circular logic never fails to support yourself, but it is also so transparent, it convinces no one but yourself.

Comrade Putin must be so disappointed in you...

Keep shilling for the DNC and Hillary.

I thought I was supposed to be in Biden's pocket? He and Hillary didn't get along too well, or didn't you read that back in the Obama administration times?

I'll admit to shilling for the Democrats when you finally come clean on your KGB training and your Putin-led train of postings! 🙂

Say Hi to Vladimir for me! And tell him I said "Fuck you both"
