This is a new member who has actually gone above and beyond to contribute new content and done it in a fair way, yet we're standing around criticizing him. That's a poor reflection of the community.
The statement "I need seedbonus points to fix my ratio and continue posting videos" is deliberately deceptive. Ratio has no effect on ability to post videos. Posting videos is by far the most efficient way to improve the ratio, much more efficient than begging for a few points here and there, so it's not even particularly helpful in that situation.
I said "deliberately deceptive" because when it was politely pointed out to him that it was not true, his only response was, "why so much drama ??" I interpret that to mean, "Yes, I know and I am doing it on purpose, go away and leave me alone." It doesn't seem like a case of attacking an innocent newcomer. He knows exactly what he's doing.
It's also wrong to make others think that if their ratio is bad, they can't post videos.
I see it as equivalent to a scamming beggar asking for change (seedbonus points) to buy food for other people (posting videos) when they really plan to use it to buy drugs for personal use (download videos). It's even worse because in this case, the change being solicited can't be used to buy food at all, only drugs, because food is free.
Bottom line, if users would actually bother to read the site rules/instructions, we wouldn't have these "misinterpretations." Everyone would be on the same page. AND if the rules are deceiving, than the owner has an obligation to it's members to make it clearer. Don't just explain it to one user, make the effort to update the site's documentation.

Curious about people's stories.
Has anyone actually "converted" someone who was supposedly straight? That being said, "converted" can be iffy as usually they were gay to begin with. ;D
No, but "a blow job's a blow job" to a lot of straight guys, especially when they're drunk and failed to get some pussy that night.
I think everybody underestimates the power of sexual energy. It wil make you lose your mind, and do things you normally wouldn't do. I don't care WHAT straight people "say."

I totally DO NOT BELIEVE IN THAT SHIT!!!!! If you "turned a straight guy out," he was already bi to begin with. I also do believe in that fluidity shit.
"I need seedbonus points to fix my ratio and continue posting videos"
From what I can tell, the above text does not actually violate rules, but I find it irritating and wanted to ask about it.
It seems to imply that if this uploader does not get the seedbonus they require, GT will prevent them from uploading.
However, I've read the rules in detail and there is nothing I can see (or any logical reason why) that GT would prevent uploading for reasons of low seedbonus or ratio. Downloading yes, not uploading.
It seems rather dishonest, and normally I'd ignore it - and I have, for months. I see it time and time again though.
As for begging for seedbonus, the rules state not to do it in the DESCRIPTION, but nothing about in the comments of the video which is where I keep seeing this.
So, there you have it. Thoughts?
I don't know, I think this is one of those things, people will interpret the same sentence differently. This also may depend how long you've used private trackers. I don't interpret the subject line to be confusing at all. You have to understand, unfortunately (and I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this), the vast majority of torrent users in the torrent world, refuse to read and follow instructions. These people try and defy tracker rules on a daily basis. They sign up knowing that rules exist, yet they feel they're above them. Then try to talk bad about a tracker when they're not allowed to get away with it.
A tracker will NEVER hinder you from uploading (if you're already an approved uploader), unless you have violated a huge rule, like not following a trackers particular uploading guidelines. You have to understand that, many people ignore what torrents were created for, and try to pull on peoples heart strings, and get charity from it. That's the kind of person who would write this.

similar to emails from HBO or something?
Of course you can, but it's highly unlikely. This is why people prefer private trackers. People feel safer, but just because you're on a private tracker, doesn't mean you can't get a DMCA letter. In case you haven't noticed, there is a section for banned studios. There is a reason for that! HELLLOOOOOOOO????
Just to comment that it may not be as bad as you think.
Your sample is biased since you only look at the people rude enough/low impulse control to leave nasty and/or vulgar comments in the first place. There may be more than 10%-20% willing to apologize who avoid making problems to start off with.
These statistically wouldn't be the members writing rude comments to begin with though.
It's a pre-selection bias. The angry trolls tend to write angry comments, and then tend to write angry responses to moderators. It kind of fits with their overall behavior pattern.
It's a shame though…. You really have to wonder an individuals mental health status, investing so much time doing these kinds of pointless things. It could only mean they have absolutely no control of their own life. "Misery likes company."
There are torrents with bad or irrelevant screenshots, incorrect descriptions, misleading descriptions, or torrents that are 'stuffed' with extra material to get more download juice, etc.
I totally agree, that aggravates the fuck out of me. And people like that should be dealt with immediately and swiftly, as they don't care about quality of content. Many people who do that (I believe) deceive people in order to get more upload credit, cause they're too fucking lazy to find original videos. This is one of the reasons I believe not everyone should have the privilege to upload. Unless a movie was a request, I don't think anybody should upload anything they didn't see themselves, that would prevent a whole lot of misinformation. And if you're too lazy to put the right information, or you're too lazy to watch it to help enter the correct information (in your own words), don't fucking upload it! That's my feeling. I am beside myself to realize these same kunklefuckers are grown adults that do this.
Finally, there is a system of accountability for egregious behavior, which is the Report system. Use it.

You know, I've seen many people complain about how mean some trackers are, and how "they don't recommend that you sign up." But, the truth of the matter is, there are a lot of users that are just plain fucked up too. So, it goes both ways. Trackers have to be strict, because of some of the assholes they sometimes take in. If someone can't follow instructions, then they need to stay the fuck out of private trackers. They know fucking well that every tracker has rules. If you don't like those rules; you have two choices, take it up the ass with no lube, or make a life with public trackers in stead!
This crap has been going on for at least 2 decades.
There are even companies with no connection to the copyrighted item trying to profit by claiming. About 10 years ago, the EU had several such companies doing this.
Extortion is the best word for it. They threaten to sue you for massive sums but say they will drop it if you pay several thousand.
I know, it's such a fucking racket out there. Makes me want to be a pirate even more. If they have all this money to try and "break the war on piracy," to not gain any profits (because it's more likely the people they're suing has absolutely no money), then they're making too much money. Fuck them….. I don't feel guilty anymore. No one can afford these prices anymore, and they promote to the poorest communities too.
Thought this was an interesting article, so I'm sharing…. This goes to show you that copyright trolls are so desperate to try to "stop the war on piracy," that they're fucking up royally! They can never stop it, no matter how hard they try!!!

Part of the problem is users getting frustrated with forum spammers for seed bonus points, people frequently posting in the wrong sections, etc.
Another "problem" is that due to the global nature of the site, there's a lot of differences in the manner of speech. Countries like Germany have a very matter of fact way of speaking, while others have a very flowery way of speaking. There's no offense meant, it's just what it is. People don't stop and think about it but react based on how they would speak, not how the other person might speak.
Oh, ok… That make sense I guess. Is it not possible to temporary ban such people? If all their doing is spamming the forums, obviously they're offering no value to the tracker.
This sort of stops me from sharing. I don't understand now this is happening with great frequency. I also hate torrents with 10 150k photos in them. What's the sense of posting them? Then you have torrents with thousands of photos, so much photos, it's not humanly possible to watch them all. Some of you guys are on crack. I'm sorry. Exercise a little common sense.
You know, I left behind a lot of public trackers because the mods/owners were just retarded! How strange that gay trackers are so different. The mods and owners on gay trackers are usually friendly and level headed, and the members are bitchy as hell. LOLOLOLOL ;D
The fact that you haven't actually SEEN some of the PMs that (yes) to me, were shocking, in the sense of being very surprised at the extreme hostility occasional members expressed back to me personally… when being asked to either tone down their rhetoric, or in the worst cases, have minor (one day warned status, for example) punishments applied to their accounts.
The time-consuming task of having to go through a member's TORRENT COMMENT HISTORY and DELETE the most offensive ones... is frustrating, too, as an unpaid volunteer... along with my time being somewhat valuable to me, eh?
So... I'm saying two things, really... you haven't actually had to SEE some of what I've seen here, (I'm AWARE that I haven't SHARED ANY of the EXTREME ones!!! :afr: ) then two, it's quite likely I haven't (in my personal life & contacts) come across the "significant amount of the gay community who are just rude, and wouldn't know respect if it smacked them in the balls" gays... as you have, which you so eloquently expressed in so many words.
Too, it could be that I tend to be on the kinder / gentle side of personality types, in general, and, as such, am attracted to like types, and have tended to have created like types friendships and relationships... over the course of my 7 decade lifetime.
So yeah, I get surprised occasionally! But many members write in to REPORT other members for this type of behavior, so... "I'm not alone" when it comes to really disliking (or in the case of member's reactions) being really offended by some of the comments that get left on torrents. The GAY-BASHING comments are often the most spectacular, LOL.
Thanks for your insightful input!!! MUCH appreciated!!!
You know, I must admit, I didn't get it at first. I suffered some of the most trauma from my OWN gay people. My biggest mistake growing up, was to think because someone else is gay like me, that they would be kinder, gentler, and more understanding. And that wasn't real life, and it was a hard lesson for me. I had to understand on my own that our gay experiences are sometimes worlds apart, and there will be many gays who just will not get it. Then again, perhaps maybe they're just evil, and we've given them too much benefit of the doubt.
If someone statements borderlines harassment, or there is no context behind their comments, band the fuckers. If someone is unwilling to apologize, or at least be able to articulate their position, then that can only mean it was done out of willful intent.

I honestly don't understand how something like this would be shocking to you? I've dealt with many rude gay men in person, so I can only think that this is a representation of who some members really are. When you see something like this… Believe it. I've spend more than enough time explaining this to other gays. There is a significant amount of the gay community who are just rude, and wouldn't know respect if it smacked them in the balls.

@MasterDave:
You also need to watch out for the videos directed by Stephane Moussu for Clair Production. Many of them wind up being released under other names by other labels. For example, "Coups de Foudre" is also "Holy Twinks" and "Latvian Lust"; "Boules de Neige" is also "Lust Winter" and "Bareback in the Snow". The list goes on and on.
I never understood this! What the fuck do people get out of doing this? Misleading people unnecessarily? I used to think that maybe people try to deceive the public in order to try and boost their ratio. But this behavior is really pointless, and people who are caught doing that should be banned. All this does is make it that much more difficult for the tracker to comply with the copyright holder; and problems for the user downloading stuff they already have!
All right, I can understand it, in part.
The thing is I imagine education should have more Western standard values, we're the same civilization. I guess we're dealing almost 100% with Western World Countries. But, that's just my opinion.
Thanks anyway for your kindness!
The problem isn't always education. A lot of it is because of belief systems. Beliefs have become more important than the truth. The other thing is, gay men in particular have a way of being really fucked up towards each other, and often find ways to justify it, and make YOU the cause of a problem. Of course, not all of us are that way, but I've seen enough to where many of us acknowledge that this behavior exist in our community; regardless of where you are in the world. We've just become unkind.
While it may be a good idea, the average person has no iota of a clue as to just how involved it is starting a website! Especially when your doing it alone. Creating any kind of site can litterally take control of your life, because there are so many things to learn and do for your website; and just about every single thing you do requires manual labor. Not to mention the actual design processes. That's not meant to be a negative discouragement. But your better off keeping your valuable time to focus on your studies, and perhaps get another part time job (that would be a lot easier than trying to build another site on your own).

I just wanted to share a quick note. I read an article on the possibility of Netflix closing down their DVD service in the next few years. It is my opinion that it is more critical now than ever to work on saving our cinematic history. This is no longer just about a matter of copyright for me. Netflix is literally the only resource for movies and documentaries that no one else has. If we lose Netflix DVD, then I do think that a segment of our torrent community (classic community) may be impacted. I also think that (in terms of the classic torrent community) that the old technically savvy torrent users don’t seem to be present anymore. This could be the result of the change and shift in the torrent culture, from the use of private trackers to public.
The quality of service from Netflix DVD has definitely plummeted (significantly). They’ve already closed down many of their DVD centers. And judging from their unacceptable slow turnaround time on deliveries, I think it’s safe to assume they also laid off workers. If we lose Netflix DVD, which I expect we will at some point, a lot of valuable history will be lost forever! It is up to us as “historic archivers’ (if you will), to keep what we will lose in the torrent community (copyrighted or not). And the only ones who can really appreciate what I’m talking about, are the old time veteran torrent users. I supposed the other important work is trying to encourage old folk to finally learn on their own what the fuck torrents are, and how to safely use them. The fact that there are people who still buy bootlegs, is a strong indication that the majority of people are still technologically far behind.
