I had been a long time FireFox user but for the past few months I've been using the nightly builds of Chromium (the open source version of Chrome, what Chrome is based on). It's fast, able to use extensions, and has a bookmarks manager (unlike Chrome Beta Mac, which doesn't really have anything -lol). So far it's been pretty reliable, although once in a great while a build may be a little buggy, but I've only had that happen once so far. One build used crap loads of CPU and would crash while trying to quit. FU then, I was quitting anyways! :laugh:  No worries tho, most bugs are fixed fast and you can always easily revert back a version in the meantime… I don't mind constantly updating, it only takes a few secs. Chromium is my default browser now.

It's more stable than the dev channel releases so it's best to use beta if you want to use Chrome with extensions as you default browser, and not have to update all the time...well, it should do it for you anyhow :), Chromium doesn't update automatically like Chrome does. The Mac beta doesn't have extensions enabled, so that's why I use Chromium on the Mac side.

If you want to save your extension preferences (of course you do :)) don't delete cookies by using the "Clear browsing data…" option, uncheck Delete cookies and if you ever want to delete them and still keep your extension preferences you can do it though Under the Hood -> Show cookies and website permissions.
In earlier builds there was an option to delete LocalStorage (where extension prefs are) or keep it, but now it's deleted along with cookies if you use the "Clear browsing data" option and choose to erase cookies.

Edit: I've begun using the developer release of Chrome rather than Chromium since extensions are enabled in the dev Chrome Mac version again (the Mac beta still doesn't have extensions enabled). It has a separate option to delete or save local storage as Chromium once did (in the recent Chromium builds local storage gets deleted along with cookies so your extension preferences will be lost if  localstorage is deleted), and it has the auto-update option too. I'm hoping to stick with the dev releases until either the beta or official releases have extensions enabled.

We can make special allowances and set users accounts so they don't get flagged too, it helps if both accounts have decent ratios.

Using only one of the two accounts won't work, the one of you two who changes the use of account will trigger the "ban" of both.

Using 1 account never causes any problems. 2 computers or more sharing 1 account and/or using different IPs from 1 account even is fine. It only may cause a problem when 2 different accounts are actively being used. The only thing that would happen is the unused account would get pruned after 180 days.

Sorry but we're not allowed to discuss exactly how our new duplicate account detector works -lol, and honestly only the Admins know. Best thing to do is contact a mod who has a fair understanding of they system and who possibly might set your account so it doesn't get flagged -that is if the circumstances for doing it are reasonable, but sometimes it's not necessary to hide an account from the dupe detector.

I noticed that while some users with high ratios use the ole "Seed bonus is highly appreciated" line all the time, they also gift nearly all their SBP away. That's OK in my book.

From what I've seen it looks like most people who mention SBP in their descriptions use their points appropriately, either because they could use them or because they like to spread the love or both.

I simply give out points based on whether or not I liked what I downloaded and ignore everything else (well, most of the time), or maybe just a click of the [Say Thank You!] button if it was so so or use the button at least as a gesture to say thanks for sharing. Some people wonder why not many people say thanks. A few might just be lazy, but I don't say thanks if it's total crap. Why thank people for crap? :laugh: In that case they should thank me for downloading their crap and helping their ratio and/or seeding their torrent.

You're also leeching (downloading) while seeding, as cumeaternc pointed out. There's nothing wrong with that, but nearly all ISP connections download much faster than they upload so that's most likely why your ratio isn't going up -a configuration problem can cause this too. The more you download without seeding back what you've downloaded, the more your ratio will lower. Seeding without downloading or seeding more than you've downloaded will make your ratio go up. It's best to seed seed seed during a warning period and lay off downloading. Build up a nice download buffer before downloading again.

The error you got while trying to upload a new torrent sounds like it was caused by trying to upload the data file (the movie) rather than the .torrent file in the "**Torrent file ***" field on the upload page.

We find several rule breakers, improperly titled torrents, fakes, duplicates, etc during the approval process too. Quality aside, we wouldn't need an approval process if we could rely on everyone to follow the rules.

Aint that the truth. We don't get paid at all and don't get any special perks either, all we get is work. We all work here because we love this site, it's just a hobby.

We do need more mods from different time zones or who are here at different times than our current torrent approving staff. Not everyone on the staff does approvals, and the ones that do may be away for one reason or another occasionally (school, work, personal matters, vacationing, etc).

BTW: Brandon's suggestion of PMing a mod who is working on the site does work ;), I've done it myself when I was a regular user and was surprised at how fast my torrent got approved.

From what I remember :), uploading with Vuze :), initial seeding uploads started out as seeding but queued and greyed out until a leecher came along, but it worked fine even without those settings.
