RE: Vista Service Pack 2 is Now Available for Download
^ No, it's NOT a beta, aaliass. It's the final release.
Vista SP2 has been OUT of beta since I started this thread May 26, I don't know why it always takes a few weeks for the service packs to show up in automatic update. I started this thread so that people who wanted to get it early could do so.
The SP2 should be safe to install (well, as safe as anything from Microsoft ever is).

RE: Miss California (the Anti-Gay One) Topless Photos Leaked to Internet
From various other articles about her, it sounds like she may lose her title because she's not fullfilling her contract as Miss California. The pageant people aren't as much concerned about her anti gay views as they are about her not doing her job as Miss California.
Well, she did it - got herself fired!
Donald Trump has now fired Carrie Prejean (as both Miss California and as runner-up to Ms. USA) for failing to honor her contractual obligations.
"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," Trump said.
Pageant executive director Keith Lewis told CNN's Larry King on Wednesday that it wasn't one thing Prejean did, but "many, many, many things."
"She came to us and said I'm not interested in your input; I'll make my own decision what I'm going to do," Lewis said. "You know, when you have a contract, when you're working for someone you have a responsibility to follow through on what that requirement is."
Lewis told King it was clear "she was not interesting in upholding the title or the responsibilities."

RE: PC World - Elude your ISP's BitTorrent blockade
I didn't realize Relakks and other VPNs were regarded by GT-Ru as "proxies."
Kinda defeats the purpose of a VPN!
Thanks for the info, mgr.
Looks like bit torrents are dying.

RE: Church of Scotland ordains 1st openly gay bishop
This is in Aberdeen where I live, but I only heard about it from another forum as none of the UK media seemed to talk about it, until this weekend when vote happened.
I regard it as a sign of progress that this ordainment was not news in Scotland. It should not be news anywhere.
Gay bishops, gay priests, gay presidents, gay prime ministers, and gay people of all sorts should be no more remarkable for being gay than for being left-handed.

RE: Pit falls of deep throat!
When I need to induce vomiting, I just drink enough alcohol until I'm "praying to the porcelain goddess" most of the night (Americans will understand this to mean kneeling over the toilet, vomiting from alcohol poisoning).
I doubt the "pink" chicken will prove dangerous, bearlover.
Hope you feel better in the morning.

RE: GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE

Phat Pope Fishes for Friends on Facebook
His Holiness, Benedict XVI, invites you to become his friend on Facebook.
Effective tomorrow (Sunday, 21 May 2009), wWw.pope2u.net will officially launch. The website is an iPhone and Facebook application which befriends you the The Vicar of Christ. It also signs you up to receive text messages of the pontiff's speeches, available in any of eight different languages. The new pope2u website also enables the faithful to send and receive 'virtual postcards' of Pope Benedict, which include "inspiring text culled from the pope's various speeches and messages." About 20 different postcards are available. It's a fun and holy way to network in the digital universe!
Archbishop Claudio Celli, head of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, said that the new site was created to help attract young people to the pope's message. It is also hoped that the site will help disseminate that message as a part of the Vatican's World Communications Day (24 May 2009). Multimedia interests have not been overlooked. In conjunction with the Vatican Television Centre and Vatican Radio, a service called H2Onews will distribute audio and video reports through the iPhone and iPods in eight different languages, including Chinese!
It has never been easier or more fun to digitally benefit from Benedict. Pope2u is the site 4 u!
It is anticipated also that His Holiness will soon be twittering. Rumors abound that the pontiff will challenge Ashton Kutcher to a competition to see who can be the first to acquire 2,000,000 followers.

Liberty University Students Barred from Joining Democratic Party
Liberty University, the fundamentalist "Christian" university founded by the late Jerry Falwell, has disbanded the "College Democrats," the student organization which represents the Democratic Party on campus. Vice President of student affairs Mark Hine said that the Democratic Party's values violate the school's teachings and moral principles. Hine said that it is inappropriate for the school to permit the Democrats to advocate on campus their message of tolerance for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered persons.
Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr. (son of the late founder) called it "an oversight by an administrator" that the Democratic Party club had been permitted to organize in the first place. Falwell said the administrator "didn't thoroughly consult school policy" which requires rejection of a fair percentage of the human race.

Following Instructions to the Letter
Two guys were out hunting together when one of them suddenly clutched at his throat, then collapsed. Unable to arouse his unconscious companion, his buddy called for emergency medical assistance with his mobile phone.
"I think my friend is dead!" cried the buddy to the 911 operator. "He's laying there unconscious and his eyes are all glassy!"
"Stay calm," urged the operator. "The first thing you must do is make sure your friend is dead."
At that, the operator could hear the man set the telephone down. This was followed by the load crack of a gunshot blast. Then, someone picked up the phone again.
"Okay, now what do I do?"
