    • RE: Tyler Henry: LGBT Medium Exposed as a Scam Artist

I went to a medium after my partner passed away. My sister had gone to him, heaped praise on him, told me how he's the biggest thing in Atlantic City and is booked for weeks in advance, and said he was unbelievable. Well, she was right. He was definitely unbelievable. He was telling me the most generic things that could apply to 90% of people, yet somehow managed to pick out ones that didn't apply to us. It was good for a few laughs at least (which I needed at the time since I was heavily greiving).

I'm not saying I don't believe in supernatural phenomena. I've experienced it many times. I also know though that there's a lot of people who will capitalize on other people's vulnerabilities and beliefs. So even though I keep an open mind, it's also open to the fact that there's scam artists out there.

    • RE: How do u guys shave ur boody hair?

      @eladuk:

Speaking from someone who has hair growing everywhere, seriously get a helping hand. Its virtually impossible to shave your arse or back by yourself properly without being a contortionist or leaving yourself with clumps or hair left behind or cutting yourself.

Seriously, Mangroomer. It's like using a backscratcher. It's a little tricky to get used to, but it does work. As long as your back isn't like a carpet, you can get a decent job. The trick is to go by feel. Like using a backscratcher, go up and down across the areas with hair. Use the feel of it to "scratch" the whole area. Then turn your back to the bathroom mirror and use a handheld mirror to see if you missed any spots.

Your arse is easy. If you can scratch your but, you can shave it.

      @JohnAllenson:

      Thinking more about this.
I don't care about dick size; i fantasize about being versatile but I'm an exclusive top.
BUT I'm not attracted to'handsome' men.  I like guys who are cute or gangly or geeky or chubby.  A lot of the guys who turn me on are a bit ugly but have very expressive faces/body language.
(Something's wrong with my connection that won't let me post picture so here are links.)

I too am into people who have unusual features. I can appreciate the classic handsome look, but like you said, it's the odd ones that I think are hot. Gangly or big ears or big nose or whatever.

Well, yeah. Doxxing is despicable. Endangering anyone by publishing personal information about them so they can be targeted should be a serious crime. I'd say the people doing the doxxing should be doxxed themselves, but then we'd end up in a doxxing war. Better to make it a serious crime that 's prosecuted.

    • RE: Oakland - Liberals protest arrests of child sex traffickers

Ahhhhh. That's a different protest than the one I found. People sure like to protest a lot today.

I haven't been getting involved in the ICE debates. Everybody's emotions are amped up too high. I'm moderate when it comes to immigration. I believe in it, I support it, but I support it being done legally. I don't understand people who don't want good security on their own borders. Likewise though, I don't buy into making immigrants a scapegoat for all perceived problems. But each side seems to want to polarize to some bizarre extreme, so I don't say much about it.

    • RE: Aborto legal or illegal?

This is one of those things that I had to do a lot of thinking on. I mean…. years of thinking.

In the case of health issues, I don't hesitate saying it should be up to the mother what she wants to do. If her body is at stake, or the fetus is harmful, then I don't see where anyone should be able to force specific health decisions upon her. People don't get abortions later in their pregnancy just because they changed their mind and don't want to be pregnant. They do it because something is seriously wrong. There are cases where the fetus' brain has not developed. It literally has no brain, just a brain stem. There is NO chance for survival of it. There are times when the mother has multiple fetuses (such as triplets or more), and it becomes apparent that all are at great risk because the mother can't carry them all. They don't want to abort one of them, and it's a horrible decision they have to make. Again, I don't think it's something I nor anyone else should be involved in. For those reasons, I don't think I'm wise enough, or anybody else is wise enough, to be making the decision for those people by saying it's illegal and they can't do it.

For rape or incest? Again, I think it's up to the mother as to how she wants to proceed. It's a deeply personal decision and I don't think others should be involved. It's a decision she won't make lightly, and I think people should, at most, offer counseling and support, not laws that force her into doing something she can't emotionally handle.

As for using abortion as birth control, I STRONGLY dislike it. I'm not ready to force my view on others by saying it should be illegal, but I do strongly dislike the concept. I do think if it's legal, it should be legal only very early on, and beyond a certain point it should be allowed only for the reasons above. The later the pregnancy goes on, the more I think it should be based on a matter of health than anything else.

    • RE: Oakland - Liberals protest arrests of child sex traffickers

I had to google "Oakland sex offender protest" to find out what you were referring to. You didn't have a link. Anyway, this is the story I found:
      https://www.abc10.com/article/news/local/california/sex-offenders-protest-their-right-for-travel/282998981

In all fairness, it isn't liberals protesting the arrest of child sex offenders. It's the sex offenders themselves protesting the laws against them. That's very different than what you posted. I had to look it up because I was thinking "That ain't right! Everyone I know supports arresting child sex offenders."

Unless there was something else that you were referring to? I can't imagine anyone being in support of child sex trafficking. That's just disgusting and evil.

    • Einstein's theories still hold up

Einstein came out with some of the most remarkable theories in the history of science. Time being relative, gravity being a warping of space, energy and matter being equivalent. We take so many of his theories as being true that it's sometimes surprising to see that the theories are still being tested to see if they hold up under certain extreme conditions. And they do.

    • RE: Apple hates white people

That's hardly a strawman argument. It's very valid. And it's much less of a leap than the one you made when you said "Apple hates white people". C'mon. We can talk about this without stereotyping or implied insults. The comment about me being a "leftist" and taking the "moral high ground" while "hiding my face" is borderline confrontational. That's not necessary. And it's not even accurate. I show more of my face than you do. And if I don't show my full name and full face, it's because I'm new to this site and I'm rightfully cautious about making my image and information public on a site where it seems most (if not all) people are anonymous. Surely you can agree that's reasonable? (I know, I know. Don't call you "Shirley"  🙂 ). I belong to other forums, and am well known on them. I even had members show up at my partner's funeral (which was incredibly nice of them). Looking at my avatar now, I'm still a bit worried I might be showing too much. We all know that there are people who can fixate and become obsessed on others. It's always good to exercise a little caution.

As for being "leftist". Yeah, I lean towards the left. But I only lean towards the left. I'm not some polar opposite. Few people fall squarely on the far end of the left/right spectrum. Most people are not at the ends of the spectrum, but in the space in between, with some falling almost in the middle. I'm somewhere between the middle and the end of the left spectrum. If you want to label me as a "leftist", that's your prerogative, but it's not very accurate. Saying someone is "left" or "right" breaks everyone down into one of two camps, and people can't be boxed away so neatly into just two categories.

    • RE: Android or apple? What do you guys prefer?

      Android.

I used to have a Windows Phone. I really wish it became more popular and stayed in the market. It was the easiest phone to use. But since Microsoft is dropping it, I had to switch, so I chose Android. I always had problems figuring out Apple. Android isn't like using Windows, but it comes closer and is more intuitive to me. I hold on an item, and I get a pop-up menu with actions just like I had right-clicked on something. I hold down on an item in IOS and I have no idea what the heck is happening.

One thing I miss terribly from my Windows Phone was the keyboard. It was the best damn keyboard I've ever used on a phone. I was able to type (or swipe if I chose) and I barely had any typos. Wtih Android and IOS (my partner uses IOS), I'm always making typos and going back to correct things. The Windows Phone keyboard truly was the best.

Helping people who are sick is noble and altruistic. It's beyond the pale to criticize the effort because you've determined some lives aren't worth the effort. Yes we have issues with HIV here. We also have many more resources here and aren't being hit nearly as hard as in other areas. Some areas are being hit so hard that it's devastating them. Helping those areas IS a noble cause.

I've bought (RED) knowing full well where my money was going. I looked at the site and it clearly says where the money is going to help HIV victims. My 2nd partner had HIV. Because we are HERE, we were able to address it and medicines kept it in check so that he is able to lead a normal life. People living in many countries in Africa don't have that capability of getting medicines. We both supported (RED) knowing that's where assistance is being directed. Those are the areas that are hit the HARDEST.

    • RE: My partner/best Friend just died, Anyone in the same situación?

To those that have lost their loved one, you have my deepest sympathies. For those that lost them recently…..

My partner of 24 years died suddenly in 2004. We were on vacation in Key West, and it ended with me performing CPR while trying to resuscitate him. It was traumatic and horrible and I had flashbacks for quite a while. The man was my soulmate. You know those couples who have been together so long that they finish each other's sentences? Well, we used to start each other's sentences. We were devoted to each other, and for each of us, there was nobody else we'd rather be with at any given time. It's been 14 years now (I can't believe I'm saying it), and I still miss him terribly. I find I don't think of him too much because it's too painful to dwell long. I mean, literally painful.

But for those who lost their loved one recently, it does get better. It may get worse before it gets better, but it does get better. You learn how to become an individual again and how to laugh and smile and have a good time. And you can learn to love again. Until then, be good to yourself. Your partner isn't there to be good to you, so take care of yourself for him. If there's something you want to do, do it. If there's something you think would make you smile or happy, do it. Baby yourself, give yourself time, and have faith that you'll come through it in more or less one piece. You'll be different, for sure. I miss the old me. But I like some things about the new me too. So have faith and hope and know that you'll one day find yourself happy again.

    • RE: Showering everyday?

I'll skip a shower on some days (or even two days), but that's ONLY if I'm not leaving the house and am just lounging around in my sleep pants all day. Otherwise, I shower every day.

I've read that not showering or bathing for extended lengths of time does something unusual to the bacteria that normally causes body odor. I think the oils on your skin kill it off or something. But you have to go for a long time without bathing, and while you don't have the pungent odor you'd think, there's still a musky scent. So….. every day unless you're not leaving the house or seeing anyone. And if you're in a relationship and sleep with someone nightly, then definitely shower every day or night.

    • RE: How do u guys shave ur boody hair?

If it's from my back, I use a Mangroomer (search on Amazon for it). It's basically an electric razor with a long, hinged handle you can use like a backscratcher. If it's my testicles, I use Nair for Men. Some people get irritated by it, but it doesn't bother me. I lather it on, let it work for the recommended, then use a coarse washcloth in a cool shower to scrub it away.

    • RE: Is it possible to date/hook up with guys while still in the closet?

Coming out is a process and there's no one way to do it that fits everyone. If you're not comfortable coming out yet to some people in your life, then do it when you feel you're ready. Until then, there's nothing wrong with meeting people and dating. Just be sure to tell the person early in the relationship or dates that you're still in the closet, are working to change that, and be prepared to discuss it. If someone doesn't want to be with you because of it, well, you didn't lose anything. If they do like you though and want to work with you on it, then you've gained something. So go for it.
