RE: Gaytor.rent forum domain
@Joker Any updates on moving the forum to the new domain? Could just be my adblocker, but I have been logout of the forum several times while switching between the main site and the forum.

RE: Copyright Enfringement - Information
@eobox91103 said in Copyright Enfringement - Information:
I also suggest uploading smaller torrents (i.e., one or two files) that users can fully download before the torrent goes away.
This is what I did, but it ended up getting my uploading privilege taken away for 90 days.
Not sure when this policy was introduced as I only upload intermittenly.
Maybe it would be helpful if there's a list of (recent) uploads that resulted in upload ban so uploader know to avoid or do it at our risk. The lack of transparency over the issue will lead to discouraging uploaders from contributing to the site.

RE: Soul Browser + IDM+ - best/easiest way to watch and download video on Android
@ianfontinell Thank you for your feedback. I do not have access to any paid Onlyfans subscription to test if these apps can save the stream.
My personal experiences with these apps is if I can stream it, I can download it.
Both apps are free to use so maybe someone else can test them out and report back.

RE: creating screenshots
@asianslut On Windows, I used Media Player Classic which came with K-Lite codec pack.
From memory, Open the video, File > Save Thumbnail and specify the number of rows and columns for your thumbnail sheet.
The codec pack is free and came with all the popular codecs that would allow your computer to play just about any video you download from the internet.

Soul Browser + IDM+ - best/easiest way to watch and download video on Android
Soul Browser is the best Android browser I have came across for watching streaming porn on Android phone. It has a built-in video player that allows you to watch the streaming video full screen in portrait or landscape. You can pinch and zoom as well as pan around to any part of the video. You can adjust video playback speed and swipe to adjust volume and brightness. The cherry on top is that you can also save/download the video.
The app is ad supported. $2 to remove the in-app ads. The app has built in adblocker and popup blocker for in-page ads.
IDM+ Browser and Downloader is a great app for downloading video and audio streaming as well torrent and large files. The integrated browser has a great adblock and popup blocker, good for streaming video sites with lots of ads but it does not has the advanced video player found in Soul Browser.
There's a Standard, Lite and Plus version. The Plus version go on sale every few months for about $1.50. Well worth the money to support the developer.
Hopefully, this post help answer the posts asking for help to download/save videos.

RE: New Icons
I vote for the text over pictogram.
The white text on dark background version has the most clean professional look.
The version with the colour background needs to be several shades more subdued, and it does not needs the colour underline.

RE: New Design
Thank you for the update. I'm loving the new cleaner mobile layout, especially the torrent image browser.
I'm using Samsung Internet Browser v12.0.1.36 on my Essential Phone and I'm having problem clicking on the torrent's title. Everytime I do it, the screen flashes a preview of the first three images of the torrent for a nano second but it does not load the torrent page. It does not matter if I zoom in to enlarge the torrent's title text. It happens with most torrent links. Please try multiple links on the page when trying to reproduce the bug. I was able to reproduce the problem on my Mi Pad 4 as well.
I had similar problem with the previous version of the site, but I was able to get around the problem by clicking near the beginning of the torrent's title.
I stumbled across the cause of this bug last night. The torrent page will load when there is no more than one image on the torrent page. Torrent page with multiple images just flashes the preview images and not load.
With the Description toggled to Short and Compressed mode, I can open torrent page with three or less images.
Solution : In Profile, when I switch Thumb Style on Browse to Thumbs appear at mouse position, all torrent page loads as expected.
For the phone layout, could you please bring back the quick download torrent file on the torrent listing page. Maybe as an icon after the camera icon in the torrent's title. Alternatively, move these two icons to the beginning of the torrent tag row and replace the current image tags with text links. This could free up space for additional torrent description texts.

Search exlude "Torrent Description" broken + New Tag system
1. I noticed that unticking the "Torrent Description" box does nothing since the recent site update. Will this be fix soon?
2. There has been a lot of discussion regarding introducing/excluding particular sub-category in the Fetish section. The New Tagging system would have been the perfect solution. What happened to the New Tag system that was introduced in December 2010? The tagging system works really well on a site like ozbargain.com.au. I believe it would be very useful here if it is setup to be user friendly for both uploader and downloader.

RE: Warning regarding posting content from Deviantotter.com
Its probably possible to circumvent such restrictions by downloading from such sites using a :cens:.
2014-08-18 Popper: Censored, please review the rules …
I didn't think what I said was a violation of the rules or I obviously wouldn't have said it… Telling someone how to preserve their privacy when joining a web site SHOULD not be a violation of any rule, IMHO.
Now I'm curious about which rule(s) you may have violated and the name of the tool you referred to.

RE: Peer Block?
If you are from the USA, you might want something better like a VPN.
I'm from Australia. The only time I received a notice was the one time I forgot to having Peer Block running for a few hours. I also try to use file lockers whenever I can as those does not get tracks.

RE: "Please exchange personal information by PM only with members you trust"
I think a Friend Request function would solve this problem. The receiver would only get one message so they won't be flooded by the same person. Make it so that you can send a Friend Request to anyone you know of their nick on this site.
I really like the "Delete All System Generated Messages" button. Perhaps add another for "Delete All Friends Request Messages" so if you don't login very often, you can quickly clean up your Inbox.

Proper label or torrent title description
I saw this new upload today. The uploader attempt to evade DMCA claim deletion by deliberately not identifying the upload by title or description. The only clue to the torrent content is in the preview images.
While I can empathise with the "waste of effort" feeling, uploading new torrents just to be deleted a few days later, this is not the solution to the problem. (Look on the bright side, while you may not get as much Seedbonus for the short time period the torrent is alive, you still get the upload credit.)
GT.ru is a giant database. Without identifiable information that's searchable, such torrent will be "lost" once it disappear from the front page. The only way someone will find it is by accident. The second major problem will be an increase of duplicate uploads.
I think it's time the Moderators clarify the permissible limit of this practice.
Perhaps uploaders should be get some kind of bonus for uploading, to counter the shorter live of new torrents? Something like 10 seedbonus per upload?

RE: QTM Questions / Answers and suggestions
For those who ran into login problem while using QTM 1.10, I find that forcing QTM to run as Administrator fixed the problem.
Win8.1, Peerblock 1.2, uTorrent 3.4.1 beta.

RE: Rationator 3.0 Torrent Download Permissions
For people who have been a member for a particular period of time, and have uploaded (or downloaded) a particular number of GBs, and have a ratio above a certain number (say 1), why not remove their limits altogether, since it's clear that they're not cheating.
Completely agree. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best solution.

RE: Themed movies category deletion
Do we have an estimate of when the new rules will be apply? I've seen a few recent TV shows upload that would not past the new restrictions.
Going to really miss seeing Dieux Du Stade on this site. They are not always readily available elsewhere.

RE: ΜTorrent 3.x series and compatibility with GT.ru's tracker

RE: Music/TV & Movie categories deletion
Dax, I've read elsewhere that (many/majority of) porn producers see site like this as valuable free distribution and marketing tool to easily reach their target audience. Porn, by nature are not advertise publicly. Instead they are usually pass on by word of mouth. The studios hope that once someone had sample their product, they like it enough to sign up as paying customers.
A small number of studios does not agree with that theory and prefer to sue their viewers instead.

Music/TV & Movie categories deletion
I saw this notice on the front page and it alarm me a little. Thought I should speak up before it's too late.
I have no objection to the deletion of the Music category. It's not because I don't appreciate good music. For me, music is more "universal". There's no specific "gay music" that non-gay people can't appreciate.
In the same extend, there are gay movie/tv show that are made for the "gay audience" or are important to gay history/culture. eg: Queer ask Folk, Will and Grace, Oz, Rick and Steve, not Ugly Betty (great show but not gay enough), Glee = maybe.
I understand the importance of not attracting the attention of Hollywood studios that could get this site shutdown. At the same time, I see sites like GT.ru play an important part in making hard to find gay theme movie/tv show available to all the gays around the world. These niche programs have no chance of surviving on cyberlocker or public torrent sites.
So please reconsider your decision. Instead of deleting the movie/tv show category, put more restriction on what can be share.
Some rules to consider:
YES
1. Must have at least one main LGBTI character.
2. Part of the main plot must be about this LGBTI character.NO
1. No current TV show (same year) that are widely available on The Pirate Bay (eg: True Blood). Those rules can be slightly relax by not applying them to non-English speaking shows or non-US/UK show.
