I saw this notice on the front page and it alarm me a little. Thought I should speak up before it's too late.
I have no objection to the deletion of the Music category. It's not because I don't appreciate good music. For me, music is more "universal". There's no specific "gay music" that non-gay people can't appreciate.
In the same extend, there are gay movie/tv show that are made for the "gay audience" or are important to gay history/culture. eg: Queer ask Folk, Will and Grace, Oz, Rick and Steve, not Ugly Betty (great show but not gay enough), Glee = maybe.
I understand the importance of not attracting the attention of Hollywood studios that could get this site shutdown. At the same time, I see sites like GT.ru play an important part in making hard to find gay theme movie/tv show available to all the gays around the world. These niche programs have no chance of surviving on cyberlocker or public torrent sites.
So please reconsider your decision. Instead of deleting the movie/tv show category, put more restriction on what can be share.
Some rules to consider:
YES
1. Must have at least one main LGBTI character.
2. Part of the main plot must be about this LGBTI character.
NO
1. No current TV show (same year) that are widely available on The Pirate Bay (eg: True Blood).
Those rules can be slightly relax by not applying them to non-English speaking shows or non-US/UK show.
