It's good to now I'm not the only one with this itch.

While I also like rutterlfort suggetion, the problem with it is anyone can go and add more image after you have just correct the layout. It become too much work to monitor all past uploads.

This issue has been bugging me since the introduction of the "Add Screenshots and Covers to make some extra SeedPoints" system. (It was great for torrents without preview images but bad for those who already had properly layout covers etc..)

Currently, when someone manually add an image to an existing torrent page, that image become the first image on the page and changes the layout and order of the original page. The page became a visual mess and no longer resemble the original uploader design.

If it's not too much work, I would like to suggest changing this behaviour by adding the new image to the end of the image list.

I assume you mean publicity "stills" rather than "grabs" / "contact sheets" made from the movie by the poster..

Why don't posters [who use windows as their OS] simply include an "image grab", made with "image grabber2 / or 2.net".. or "Video Thumbnails Maker2" [both are freeware] & set the options to show the video & audio details..
see attached eg.

Downloaders can then judge quality before DLing..

I voted YES and I agree with Wombat. The contact sheet should be mandatory (1 per video file in the torrent), especially when they can be so easily generated. For those studios where preview images are not allow, the codec and resolution info should be included in the description and the contact sheet(s) included as part of the torrent.

On the other hand, how much info are needed? For me, I usually just look at the video resolution (height) and file format.

Just an idea I have after reading this thread.

If the site admin ever decide to go with the idea of rewarding uploader, I would suggest auto rewarding 1 Seeder Bonus point for every complete download. This will most likely inflate the SBP system so simply deduct 1 SBP from every downloader of that torrent.

Mods, this issue had came up before. I really think it should be included in the Rules section. Despite people best intentions, majority of the site users are not active in the forum. It's probably a shock to whoever receive this kind of warning.

For comics, you will need a full 10" screen. Even on my Viewsonic gTablet poor quality screen, it was passable. Better on the iPad2.

Rumour has it that the iPad3 (Feb-Mar 2012?) will has the much higher (double) the current iPad2 screen resolution. At this resolution, squinting wont be necessary. It should not be long before this type of screen trickle down to cheaper tablet models (6-12 months). Amazon is also expected to launch a full size Kindle Fire.

I've read on Android phone, 10" Android tablet, iPad2 and e-ink reader. I find the best reading experience was with the tablet.

• I can customise my reading experience (brightness, theme, margin, font size, page turn etc..)
• Maximum format compatibility.
• Instant response
• Read in the dark
• Download books from my Dropbox

The only downside in comparison with e-ink reader is battery life and weight.

So I would recommend the Nook Color/Tablet or Kindle Fire as a great compromise (no good for comic or magazine).

When I first got my Android phone last year, I came across a similar app named Literotica. It allow you to read the stories from the website of the same name. For a long time, I could not find it on the Android Market or anywhere else. Following your link today, it turn up in the See Also column.

• Literotica has a nice interface. Just need a Save/bookmark function.
• Nifty is simply a version of the mobile site with very intrusive ads. Ewe. Might as well use the mobile site.

As I said earlier in this thread, AA users are posting a lot of stuff that has no business being here.  They are violating our trust in them, then bitching at us for correcting the situation they caused.

Please don't let a few bad apple upset the cart. The AA people who made those mistake should have been warn or get their AA privilege revoke (at least temporary). While I don't normally condone dictatorship, this is a private site and not a democracy. As Mods you guys have the power to do what is best for the site. Just use it responsibly and give the person a chance present their case and learn from their mistake.

You don't really need to remove the other torrents.  Just stopping them will have the same result.  You can always resume seeding the other torrents once your upload torrent has another 3-4 other complete seeder.

There seem to be a problem with your torrent. Has it been approved? When I follow the link under your profile it said the torrent does not exist. It also does not show up in my search.

I have several involving football/rugby players being very naughty on cam, but wouldn't dream of posting them for that very reason. Besides, it's just hetro action and obviously no one on here would be interested in fit sportsmen indulging in that. 

I'm sure they would be very popular if they get posted. Of course, show some screenshot to a Mod first to be sure. It's appropriate here as long as they don't involve female in a sexual nature and if they do then post it on the sister site SexTorrents.

You suppose to watch Glee for the music, not the almost non-existing story line. The problem with Glee is in the nature of the show. Pick a bunch of songs and write a story around it. Kurt story line has picked up much more since they build more on the relationship with his dad, the closet bully and the new love interest.

Watch Caprica for the story line.  It has a hot supporting gay character.
Modern Family is good, but it's more about relationships.

Before reading this forum, I had no idea that seed stealing was a problem (or even possible).  Apparently neither did the seed stealer in question: He was merely attempting to super seed. With no rule in place he had no idea what he was doing is wrong - or at least frowned upon.  Isn't this what rules are for: a listing of what is and is not allowed?  No source code changes or even additional programing required.

I browse the forum occasionally, but more seriously 4 times a year when I am holiday.  This is the first time I have seen this brought up.

Although I can see how it is detriment to a slow uploader with poor ratio, I would have to say I lean more on the downloader side as file sharing should be about sharing the file as fast as possible.

In term of possible solution, adding this as a soft rule would make more people aware of it. In term of programming, the simplest way would be to add a op-out check box that would show up as a highlight next to the torrent name. This would add the word/graphic No Jump In at the beginning/end of the name. Clicking on this word/graphic would take you to the rule explaining why.

mortonlyn, what I do is make sure I am always running my torrent program in the background whenever the computer is on. I leave 1-3 Gaytorrent low seed torrent running to help keep those torrent alive and get Seed Bonus Point.

I answer seed request as much as I can.

I re-up a popular corrupt torrent. You can find them by searching in Torrent Name for "contact staff". This can be a lengthly process. Lots of waiting around for a staff member to delete the old torrent and approve your new one. The reward is lots of upload traffic. You can reduce the waiting time a little by going into the chat room and ask nicely/politely one of the staff who is available at the time for help.

Thanks.   I am very happy with the discussion it has started.

My initial thought about the new guides/FAQs is to go with a wiki. The few active members don't have to do everything. Everyone can have as little or as much input as they like. The main problem with this is how much more work will it be required of the site coder to integrate the wiki into the current site.

The more workable that require less effort for the coder is something like this.

Rules page (and new member welcome page) will feature a welcome message with the 10 Commandments and a short 3-5 line of friendly explanation about why the rules exist, to help the website run smoothly and build a community etc… Final line should say: for more details and explanation of the rules, please check out our Guides and FAQs section.

GUIDES.  Move the guides out of the forum and give each guide its own page, all linked together by a master table of content on the guide main page.  At the bottom of each guide is a link to a forum post in the forum where people can post question and answers.

FAQs.  The current FAQs seem to be very comprehensive and adequate.  Just need some layout cleanup. Either have one page per section (Site Information, User Information etc..) or use scripts to only display one section/question at a time.

FORUMS. Clean up the forum by having less sticky topics. Many of the current stickies in the GT.ru Discussion and Guides forum fit more into the guide section.  Only current and most important topic should be sticky. For example New Ratio requirements is now old news, where as First Time uploader program is alway relevant for new member.

Of course 1000 is exessive, the torrent client will spend too much in communicating with the tracker and peers.

Exactly the point I'm trying to make.

Soon after my initial post, another seeder came online and the torrent was flying at 100 kB/s+.  This person has <600 seeding torrents and a big upload pipe (160 kB/s+ average upload speed).

Back on topic.  I've just gone through the site Rules and FAQs and I think they need some cleaning up for easier reading.  Perhaps a simpler set of rules that's presented to new member at the first login would help fix this and other problems.  The GT.ru 10 Commandments I made up below cover most of the important points of the Rules section. Each rules can be link to another page with full explanation and examples.  The main things to avoid are center format everything and walls of text.  Numbers and letters are easier to refer to than dot points.

GayTorrents.ru 10 Commandments

1. Thou shou not use multiple GT.ru account on the same internet account.
2. Thou shou not upload GT.ru torrents to other trackers.
3. Thou shou not upload duplicate files or banned materials.
4. Thou shou not seed more than 20 torrents at a time.
5. Thou shou not post clickable link to external website.

6. Thou shou meet or exceed minimum ratio requirement.
7. Thou shou provide appropriate title, descriptions and preview images when uploading a new torrent.
8. Thou shou treat other members with respect.
9. Thou shou check into GT.ru forum regularly and participate in the community.
10. Thou shou search and read FAQs before posting new enquiry.

The general rule is that the torrents with the most exposure get the most downloads. At the top of the list is the new torrents on the first few pages, then the server top 30 list on the front page, then the 3 recommended torrents at the top of every page.  The really popular torrents will also have many seeders so the leechers won't necessarily download from you. If your goal is to seed and keep your ratio up then get in early on new torrents or upload some yourself.
