If the Democrats win back the House in 2018, that is a different story.  Even under those circumstances, he would never be convicted in the Senate.67 Senators would have to vote to convict, a very high bar indeed.

I hope the dems win in 2018. That way the dems, and anti-trump repubs can form a bipartisan coalition to take down #45.

Trump has such a disdain for minorities. He just used them as a prop to not appear racist. For example, he and his AG are still pushing the drug war and stringent minimum sentences of marijuana…

Since we all have very low to negative reputation power, our votes do nothing to improve or decrease  the reputation power of someone with a positive value.  It also does nothing to improve the negative values of our colleagues when we give them up votes.  Yet one down vote by one of you guys decreases our reputation by 60-70 points at a clip ( single vote by raphjd counts 475 in either direction).

I never understood how that worked. Seems like a pretty crappy system.

Midwestern cities need jobs. DC is too crowded. A simple solution.

Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and other former industrial powerhouses in the Midwest are struggling. The industries that have supported those cities have gone away, leaving them overbuilt and underpopulated. Meanwhile, coastal cities like New York and Washington, DC are overcrowded and absurdly expensive. So, why not relocate some well-paying federal jobs from the capitol area to the Midwest?

I think this is a great idea! I wonder whether it has ever been proposed? Anyone have objections to moving government jobs to the Mid-west to help their economy?

I don't really care about reputation, I will be perpetually in the negative no matter what I do.

I and others have called for civility on this board, posts like this are why many avoid this board and are likely why recent forum changes have been made.

It is clear that mischievous individuals posting as conservatives or rightwingers are flocking to this board to cause havoc. In fact, the ratio of user directed attacks on this board is more common among them as well.

Regardless an upvote means 'I agree", a downvote the opposite.  It is not an attack on character.  Raphjd has called out sutieday on multiple occasions  for his persistent downvoting, but I have always seen that he makes those comments in his personal capacity, not as  :police: :police:

You might have missed the . (period) before the last three zereos.

Also, Raphjd has doxxed downvoters in his personal capacity by using his mod ability to see who downvoted who.

The sad thing is that Trump supporters see no problem in the Trump family getting richer while Trump is in office. None of them are asking for Ivanka to cut her business ties, even though she and her husband are directly advising the president.
