    • Trump’s war on US troops: 13 insults in 13 days

      Trump's repugnant words and actions over the past two weeks have shown absolutely zero respect or regard for members of the military or their families.

      Donald Trump has never shown the military proper respect. Whether claiming Republican Sen. John McCain is not a war hero because he was captured, sneering at the sacrifices and very identity of Gold Star parents Khizr and Ghazala Khan, or pocketing a veteran’s Purple Heart, Trump cannot be counted on to do right by the troops, even as he wraps himself in the flag and invokes our armed forces to attack people protesting him.

    • Trump sits, talks through song lowering the flag at military base

      President Trump sat and talked through the nightly playing of "Retreat" as the American flag was lowered on a Pennsylvania Air National Guard base during his interview with Sean Hannity.

      Trump, who has been criticizing NFL players who kneel through the national anthem to protest racism, seemed caught off-guard by loudspeakers playing "Retreat." The song is played every night at military bases to signal the American flag being lowered and the end of the official duty day.

      Military site Task and Purpose was the first to notice Trump sitting during the song. According to Task and Purpose, uniformed service members are required to stop what they're doing and salute the flag as its lowered during the song while civilians are required to place their hand over their heart.

      I guess I'll use Trump's own words, "Get that son of a bitch outta here!"

    • Donald Trump to become first president to speak at anti-LGBT hate group's summit

      Donald Trump is to address the annual conference of an anti-LGBT group which has been classified as a hate group.

      The US president will become the first sitting president to address social conservative activists and elected officials at the Value Voters Summit in Washington DC on Friday.

      President Trump has addressed the event which is hosted by the Family Research Council three times in total and did so last year as the Republican presidential candidate.

      The Family Research Council opposes and actively lobbies against equal rights for LGBT persons. The conservative Christian group campaigns against same-sex marriage, same-sex civil unions, LGBT adoption, abortion, embryonic stell-cell research, pornography and divorce.

    • Inclusivity and the rise of White Nationalism

      Many anti-liberals on this board point to radical liberal groups such as Antifa, that attack white people while praising inclusivity, especially among minority groups. I like the idea of inclusivity, and don't think that there should be an exception for white people. On the right, there has been a rise in white identitarianism, "White Nationalism".

      White Nationalists, such as Richard Spencer, claim that America is a "White Nation", and that Donald Trump's election was a win. White Nationalists use being "politically incorrect" as a means to normalize their beliefs. White Nationalists also point to the increasing anti-white sentiments and double standards in hate crime laws against whites.

      Are those who are white nationalists bigoted? Some probably are, however, the idea that America is a white nation is very grim and sets us back. I think a culture of inclusivity for all races should be encouraged and those who are divisive and racist baiting should be called out.

      @sutieday:

      @Frederick:

      As for Sean Spicer, he was being mocked so viciously on SNL every week that it was making him a liability.

      Like Trump?

      @Frederick:

      SNL will have a much more difficult time attacking Sanders because of her gender.  They will still try, but it won't stick.

      Like Sarah Palin?

      @Frederick:

      By the way.. in regards to SNL, other than Alec Baldwin (who is not a cast member of SNL) and the incessant attacks on Trump, nobody talks about SNL at all.  They need to pull the plug on that show.  I think they would get better ratings by broadcasting re-runs of 'The Carol Burnett Show" in that time slot.

      If Trump weren't so foolish, it wouldn't be so easy to satirize him.

      Sarah Palin is extremely outspoken, which made her a target.

      I find it disturbing that Sutieday celebrates the attacks on government officials by the media.  The media are not supposed to be attacking government officials.  They are supposed to report the news.    Imagine if any reporter ever mentioned that FDR was a cripple, or JFK was boning everything that moved, .

      SNL is not a news media outlet. Therefore, they have no obligation to report the news.

      The attacks you are talking about are personal attacks (i.e. ad hominem). Can you provide an example of when I "celebrated" such attacks?

      I think the media, in general, should always be critical of those in power, hold them accountable, and not be government propaganda outlets like in Russia media.

      I wish I could take credit but it's all here.  It seems the "fake news" did a much better job of vetting him than Trump did.  He is also a Hillary supporter!!

      The Trump administration is an unfortunate reality TV show, and the American people lose.

    • Here Are Some Things You Should Probably Know About Anthony Scaramucci

      President Donald Trump shook up his beleaguered press team on Friday, appointing close ally and Wall Street financier Anthony Scaramucci to be his new White House communications director.

      The move was reportedly what led White House press secretary Sean Spicer to resign, after just six months on the job.

      But Spicer isn’t alone in his disapproval of Scaramucci. Spicer’s deputy, Sarah Hucakbee Sanders, as well as White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and chief strategist Steve Bannon all reportedly opposed Scaramucci’s appointment, multiple outlets reported Friday. But the president’s daughter Ivanka, his son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, were supportive of the appointment, according to The New York Times.

      Interesting how the Trump suporters on this board have forgotten about Trump's "America First" rhetoric, and how he criticized visas for foreign workers during the campaign trail.

      Are Trump supporters flip-flopping because they have no clue where their guy stands?
