I don't think there's inherently anything wrong with having "white pride" however 99% of the time the term seems to be used as nothing more than a cover for racism.  I suppose I have a degree of pride in my European-American heritage for example, in that Americans of European descent have created and achieved many great things, but I wouldn't call it "white pride" due to the association with white supremacists, who I want nothing to do with.

My hope is that a century or so down the road, people will have mixed into one world race, and the whole stupid unscientific concept of race will die out entirely.

There is no one answer - it depends on the person.  One person's mom might be totally cool, another might throw you out of the house.  Same with siblings, friends, etc.

I think people should be free to adopt the name of their choosing, but to be honest it kinda rubs me the wrong way when a person (straight or gay) takes their spouse's last name.  It feels like they are giving up part of their identity.  I certainly did not choose to do that, particularly as I am the last person in my family with my surname, it would feel disrespectful to my heritage to give it up.
