I provided a link for you. If you disagree, take it up with them.

the link if you even read it mentions no such examples other than ''china AND japan use THIS china term'' which is false and unproven. japanese people do not embrace foreign trends easily from china. lol

First: cool! I'm glad your aquatic friends have some fresh, clean, softened water! I wish them good health! (You too, while we're at it - we go at it on some of the political topics, but I don't take politics personally... I wish you well too!)

As for the points: cool... it can help boost my membership level! 🙂 (Every little bit helps!)

Mind you, I've done the math:

      I've DL'd almost 24TB (23.88) of data here

I've received about 20TB (19.89 TB) of upload credits (that is, tracked uploaded data + seed points converted into data)

That makes my ratio a cool 0.83 - but while that may be troubling to some, with my exceptionally large UL/DL volume I have a buffer of nearly 1 TB! I can live with that!!! 🙂 )

Still, I would need about 4TB worth of upload credits to get my ratio to a full 1.0

      At 600 credits for 10GB of uploaded data, I'll need 400 10GB units x 600 points per unit = 240,000 bonus points!

      1-down, 239,000 to go!

Mind you, MY CLIENT reports my overall share ratio at about 2.5:1 upload to download... but that's across 3 gay-torrent themed private trackers: org, net, and ru...

gay-torrents.org shows my ratio as about 1.5 to one, where my client says it should be nearly 3.0 gaytorrent.ru (here) shows my ratio as 0.83 to one, where my client says it should be about 2.2 gay-torrents.net shows my ratio as 2.75 to one, where my client says it should be 2.8... that's awfully close!

But I am a "computer guru" in my own right, and I am aware that "hiding" behind a VPN, as well as using Linux-based clients (I recently switched from deluge to qBitTorrent) affects how my uploading gets applied... it also affects my "availability" as a seeder, even though I leave my Linux client open on my server...

Still, when I first joined here - what, 2008 or thereabouts? - I complained about this, but found almost no help available for the combination of VPN and Linux.... nonetheless, things remain "tolerable" if I just keep uploading and use the seeding credits to supplement my upload balance. 🙂

I don't know if the different sites' admins talk to each other (they should!), but somehow the NET admin's tracker is able to keep up with my setup where the others cannot... (That said, his volume of data is a fraction of yours here!)

That's a lot of gibberish - except that you're the (an?) administrator here... 😉

Honestly, I thought this had to be bullshit, but I read it...

      In this article it says:

"The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false, and teaching it is even much less so," the course states. "Upholding the idea that there are always right and wrong answers perpetuate objectivity as well as fear of open conflict."

I'm sorry, but unlike your English class, where color and colour are technically BOTH correct spellings, 1 + 1 = 2 and the square-root of 25 is exactly 5 are not "open for debate", nor are they - at least at the level taught in non-graduate school level classes - open to being re-interpreted and changed anytime soon!

If math was subjective - and open to debate based on your cultural heritage, or other factors - then we'd have never landed the lunar or martian explorations!

Now THIS is some LIBERAL BULLSHIT!!!

White supremacy? More like cultural appropriation! 😉

Just another example that you can find almost anything on the Internet, assuming it's not important to your job that you find it - in which case, it will be beyond the scope of any modern Search Engine to find what you need.

I should point out that I also peruse the BBC, DW, GlobalTV, and other "international" news outlets - I try not to be US-Centric...

And for the record, some of those outlets have a "political bent" as well - I think it's really hard to present news without some kind of angle. Further, I think the appearance of impartiality we like to remember about the newscasters of old is a beautiful illusion 🙂

      @bc22

      I've posted about this before....

The reason Obama, Trump, and now Biden can make all of these Executive Orders is because there is no controlling law. I think Biden hit it on the head when he said he wasn't creating law, he was creating policy!

It's up to the Legislature to make LAW - and when they do, Presidential Executive Orders are either codified into law, or overturned by the law.

This is a symptom of a totally broken congress.

It was broken under Republican "rule" in Obama's term, it was broken (even worse?) under Trump's term... it remains to see just how broken it remains in Biden's...

And the result is that we all get whiplash when a new President comes in and starts changing all the "policy" - for which there are no laws!

Congress needs to pull its head out of its collective ass and start passing laws! Start by evaluating the Trump version and the Biden version of some of these Executive Orders... get together and negotiate a middle-ground that both sides hate equally! Codify it into law, and STOP THE MADNESS!

The tax money they get is in the form of research grants and student loans.

They are a privately-held university. They do not receive government (that would be State money, and they are in CT) funding for operations, buildings, or anything else.

As opposed to somewhere like the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Also a leader in government grants and research but, unlike Yale, Ga Tech is a Public University - a part of the University System of GA. Taxpayers of GA pay large amounts of the money spent at Ga Tech for buildings, upkeep, professors salaries, and the like. In exchange, students from the State of GA pay lower tuition than those from other locations. (Forgetting scholarships).

That's funny - I thought he just created a commission to find out how to re-unite those kids with their parents!

No, far more likely is that Biden will hold a rally in Texas to greet the latest "procession" from Central and South America of wanna-be immigrants...

He'll give 'em each a bottle of water and a ticket to a court hearing... to be held in a few months, after we get this Covid thing handled. They have to promise (in English, mind you! It only counts if they say it in English!) to come to that hearing, don't ya know!
