Anyway, the toughest job is always dealing with people and trying to convince them of something, if they have something else in their heads.
One example is when I was QCing a software package. The workflow was all crap, but the software looked nice. The devs refused to move the buttons and whatnot to make the workflow actually flow because they spent ages making it look all nice and shiny as it was. Anyway, the company put out the crap so it could come out right away, but did all the fixes I said over the next year.

In the UK, it used to be that a sperm donor was protected from liability for kids born of his donated spunk.

If a single woman or lesbian uses donated sperm, then the donor is liable for child support but has no rights to the child. SIDE NOTE:
In the UK, a married woman 's child is legally the husband's, even when it's blatantly obvious that the kid isn't his. If the father wants a paternity test, he has to get the mother's permission or a court order. At that point, he loses the rights to the child but retains all of the responsibilities. Despite paternity tests being legally binding, judges can reject them "for the good of the child" and ban the child from being told he/she is not the father's child.
Several countries in Europe (Germany, France, etc) have made it illegal to do paternity tests. They say it's to protect the family unit, but it really protects the mother from being outed as a whore.
