      I never said those who wanted a white male president were racist, but looking to return to a more socially secure past.
      They do not hate blacks or women, but simply want to return to a social structure that seems more stable.

      I have never presented CNN commentary as facts.  You, however, have called CNN commentary  fake news and examples of the network's bias.

      anyone can find out for themselves by simply googling "Obama shadows Trump."

    • RE: The Republican Healthcare Bill

      I'll get things started.  The cuts to Medicaid expansion are about equal to the tax breaks given to people earning more than $250,000 a year. So it is a clever way to transfer money that would have gone to the poor and elderly and put it back in the pockets of the wealthy, all disguised as a healthcare plan–very devious.

    • RE: I LOVE Trump! Why?

      Since adam resurrected this thread, I can't let mhorndisk's rants about the Clinton Foundation and Trump's philanthropy go unchallenged.

      The Charity Navigator, an independent watchdog states the Clinton Foundation spends 88% of its revenue on Charitable programs and 12% of administration.  that 90% figure on administration came from a mis-interpretation of the foundation's tax filing that was propagated by Carly Fiorina.
      https://www.charitywatch.org/ratings-and-metrics/clinton-foundation/478

      The Trump Foundation, on the other hand, has not received a dime from Donald J. Trump since 2008.  He uses other people's money and takes credit for it himself.  Most would agree that is pretty sleazy.

      As dfor the whole email thing, destroying mobile devices with hammers was The State Department policy.  She preserved most, if not all, her work- related emails.  Even Comey admitted that.  He also admitted that the deletions, carried out by her legal team, was not intended to obstruct justice or hide incriminating information.  Lastly, the famous subpoena that she supposedly violated asked only for emails related to the Benghazi investigation. The Congressional Committee did not subpoena the entire server.

      See my thread here:
      https://forum.gaytorrent.ru/index.php?topic=51154.0

      Setting up a private server was a mistake and she admitted as much.  She paid dearly for it during the campaign.  How it is relevant in July (or May) of 2017 is beyond me.  The only emails that are relevant now belong to Donald J. Trump Jr.

    • RE: Mentally ill Obama thinks he is still president.. and is stalking Trump

      @Frederick:

      No other former president followed the president around the world - stalking him.. and running his mouth.

      Youtube Video – [02:03..]

      Funny, but the clip shows a righteous indignation, but does not mention the places Obama was supposed ly stalking Trump.  If they are referring to Trump's trip to Europe in May, when Obama appeared with Angela Merkel in Germany,
      "The Obama Foundation says the former President accepted the invitation before the US election, so the overlap with Mr Trump's first presidential trip to Europe is purely coincidental."

      If they are referring to rumors that he followed Trump to the G20, that was rated as "Pants on Fire" by Politifact

      http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2017/jul/11/blog-posting/no-obama-did-not-follow-trump-g20-summit-germany/

      Yet, speaking of respect among presidents, no president in history since Andrew Jackson and John Adams has attacked his predecessor so often and so personally as Trump has with Obama.  You may not consider Trump a true conservative, but his eyes are in the back of his head.  He should look to the future and actually try to lead.

      @pppucci:

      Even if that were true(which in my opinion it is not.  I think the enthusiasm has more to do with the possibility of a female president, rather than the person herself.) does that justify the continual attacks.  The election is over, as is her political career.  Ding Doing the Hillary witch is dead! (at least in politics–Super PAC or not)

      Why should there be enthusiasm for having a female president?  That is a nightmare.

      But it would be a first–another barrier torn down, just like having the first black president.  Democrats should have realized that change comes in short spurts , not waves.  In retrospect, the expectation that the first black president would be succeeded by the first woman president overestimated the nation's ability to embrace change.
      There were great blocs of voters who felt their president should be a white male.  That is a big part of MAGA.  Let's get back to the 50's.
      That's why liberals and progressives are synonyms.  We are looking to change the future. Conservatives are trying to preserve the past.  The names of the movements are very telling.

    • RE: HIV Testing Question

      The CDC does not recommend requiring consent before testing:
      https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/policies/law/states/testing.html
      but each state has its own rules.
      Since HIV is now very treatable, and that heterosexuals are vulnerable, as well as less of a stigma associated the being gay, may doctors do order it as a part of a general physical.  In any event, it would be ethically and legally wrong to divulge the result to a third party without the patient's consent. Federal privacy laws (HIPPA) protects that. Mandatory testing should only be required of those whose jobs would put the public at risk (those are few and far between.  Many support mandatory testing before marriage, as syphilis testing is in many states.

      @mhorndisk:

      Good grief! This post has gotten SO out of hand. Look. Comey exonerated Trump three times.

      It shows you how Trump supporters heard what they wanted to hear.  Comey never exonerated Trump.  He told him on three occasions the the President was not personally under investigation at that time..  He was reluctant to go public with that statement because it would create an obligation to correct if things changed.  Looks like things have changed.

    • The Republican Healthcare Bill

      With all the attention focused on Don Jr, it is unclear whether the Senate is any closer to passing a healthcare bill.  Mcconnell has threatened to keep Senators in hot and humid Washington until they pass something.
      Flozen asked Frederick in another thread to comment on it.  Here's your chance…

    • RE: Should #45 Be Impeached and Removed from Office?

      @Frederick:

      Zero chance of him being impeached.  The things they are attacking Trump with are pitifully minor compared to the massive transgressions of the Clintons, and Obama for that matter.  The media didn't dare lay a finger on Obama.

      HOWEVER… If I were a billionaire, and was getting constantly attacked by a load of losers - even in his own party - I would be tempted to say "OK, fuck you all.. I resign.. "  and take my billions, live like a god emperor, and tell the country to enjoy their miserable lives under some moonbat administration.

      Believe it or not Frederick, I agree.  A president has never been removed from office by impeachment.  Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were acquitted, and Nixon resigned even before the Articles of Impeachment, which were approved in the Judiciary Committee, could be voted on by the full House. But Barry Goldwater went to Nixon and told him he had no more than 15 votes in the Senate (he needed 34 to be acquitted).  Nixon saw the writing on the wall.  In his resignation speech, he cited eroding support in the Congress and never admitted guilt.

      If it comes to that, something similar will go down with Trump.  He will, of course, blame it on fake news and call it a witch hunt, but if he does leave, he will start the Trump Cable Network and make himself another mint.  And we will be left with Pence, unless Trump drags him down as well.  Then we will have President Ryan.  Under those circumstances, who knows what would happen in 2020.

      Talk of impeachment or resignation, however is very premature.  But who would have predicted a month ago that we would have an email chain involving Don Jr. that would prove he knew the Russian government was supporting the campaign since June of 2016?

      Guys I can't eat another thing.  This nothing burger has filled me up.  I'm going to have to hit the gym hard tomorrow!

      Trump has been oddly quiet today.  When will the Tweet Tantrum begin?

      It doesn't take much to fill you up.   Are you anorexic like Karen Carpenter?

      The funny thing is… all these jabs at Trump lack substance.. and nobody will remember them a couple of months from now.  Forget about Trump.. the thing to watch is whether or not the Republicans can get their act together and pass healthcare and a tax cut.

      Dream on.  Not only will the Republicans fail to get their act together, but If Trump's approval rating within the party drops below 50%, he will be out before his Twitter thumb can hit send.
      But, Frederick, you're coming along.  First you said there was no proof of collusion.  Now you say the proof lacks substance.  Just wait…

      Bill Maher has a segment on his show called "I don't know it for a fact, I just know it's true."   That's how I feel about Seth Rich.  Is there evidence? No.  Did Clinton or the DNC have him killed?  Without a doubt…..

      A revenge killing? The emails had already been leaked.  It does not make sense.
