My personal preferences on my MAC are

1. qBitTorrent after
2. uTorrent

I have torrented some years now, even before I "upgraded" from M$ Windoof to MAC OS X. They both worked flawlessly on both OS - I switched to qBitTorrent again because of the nerve-wracking advertising in uTorrent!

BTW: I'm not affiliated to one of both companies and sadly get no money from them for advertising I'm especially not interested in fighting a "holy war" with any supporter of whichever client you prefer. I just talked about my personal preferences.

If the tracker goes offline - LEAVE YOU CLIENT RUNNING!!!

Don't be surprised: there is a real reason behind this tip!

Regularly ( ~ every 30 mins) the tracker connects with the clients and asks them about their traffic since the last contact. A good client keeps these values in memory(!) and reports them to the tracker. Also when the tracker didn't ask for a day - a good client keeps his traffic values (in memory!) and reports them at the next request. Might be a very good client saves these values when shut down (I don't know because i don't shut down my client in case the tracker is offline). But I never lost any transfer values (except for a crash on MY COMPUTER) by tracker-outings.

At most I'm agains each and every kind of such "drawer thinking". I do know that it makes things easier to understand and most demagogues use this kind of thinking to make their work easier. (if I may repeat my example: "All jews are vermin").
Such kind of thinking makes things black or white. If you watch realty though you'll see there are many shades of grey between those extremes. I just ask everybody not to close their eyes for the "in between".

Sorry I can't argue with you about the rest of your quote for several reasons: First one: I' don't know enough about politics in other counties (like USA, United Kingdom …) to have informed opinions, second: I don't know anything about some persons unless they come in German news (where NFL news are usually more important than news about leaders which try to rule their country via tweets)   :blind:

I expanded the poll - because such "drawer-thinking" has brought a lot problems in our world. Where is the in principle difference between "all Jews are vermin" and "all (put in your political opponent) are liars" I can't that except that the second version is the third, fourth … step on a ladder.

Might be you must be a citizen of Germany (nowadays better of the European Union) to recognise such dangers - but we all should see the danger of sorting our opponents in such nice "political drawers".

Let me at first make some facts clear:

Your ratio is only calculated by your upload traffic divided by your download traffic. Seed bonus points (SBP) are only used to add to your upload traffic, in your case 100 SBP = 1.0 GB = 100 / 2.140 GB x 1 GB = ~0,04 % increase. (all values are rounded).

You get SBB for the time seeding 1 point for two hours seeding time. The number of torrents is irrelevant, only the time seeding counts. I see members here which seed >200 torrents at the same time: nonsense, their client uses probably more time to manage the seeding torrents than to look out for more downloading members for a few torrents.

For the upload speed see MrMada's answer, btw: if you look at his posting you can see easily he is a GlobalModerator (and another btw: has much more knowledge about IN-technology than I have and probably will ever get)

Well - to dig deeper we need a IN-speed diagnostic from a widely accepted source like www.speedtest.net and mail us your results. The effective upload speed is influenced by numerous things: most important: connectivity of the clients, the available ressourses for uploading, # of leeching clients in the swarm,#of seeding clients in the swarm and may many more.

What we didn't discuss up to now is the question of ports; open or closed, firewalls and so on. All things GT.ru has no influence. Our tracker has the only task to to convey IP-addresses of seeding/leeching clients - the transfer is the client's duty!

In case you did read and understand my last paragraph you can answer this question yourself:

NOTHING

and your problems are the connections between your client and other clients. That's the reason BitTorrent is called a Peer to Peer network meaning: it is not centrally organised.

caveat: leeching a freeleech torrent is free until the freeleech time is expired.

There is only one place where you can see which member gave you SBP together with his "thank you" for the upload: the torrent details page  lists all members which clicked the thank you button, together with the SBP award they sent, like mgr(50) where the 50 is the number of points they gave,

three simple possibilities:

1st: seed, seed seed your downloaded torrents. The more the better. When you are finished seeding: seed some more!

2nd: upload a torrent for a new video to our tracker.

3rd: Donate to our site and help us to keep this site alive on the net.

There are some other possibilities to increase your ratio, but they either depend on your user status or your seeding time.

Additional possibilities for power users: (albeit to be a power user you need a ratio above 1.05 so you will rarely need this) You can invite new users to our site. For each invited new user you'll get an upload traffic of 2 GB credited. See the topic Invitation for more details.

Seeding time: you get seed bonus points for the time your client is seeding, regardless of your upload traffic during that seeding time. The current rate is you get 0.5 points for each hour seeding. If you accumulate 100 Points or more you can exchange your bonus against upload traffic for your account (currently from 1 GB for 100 points up to 10 GB for 600 points).

I wanted to ask you if there is a way to re-upload qBitttorrent in the Download offers section. I understand you had to split the install file into 4 parts because your internet speed, but can anyone else upload it, so it can be preserved as one file?

alas that won't work. That upload works by PHP-scripts, for security reasons there is no FTP account on our servers. Uploads by PHP are in our current configuration limited to 2 MB per file That is the original reason to split the installation files
