While I was preparing to move here, I had closed out my apartment and so was staying at my parents' place. You can imagine that this left me without many opportunities to take care of myself, so I took them when I could. Well, one weekend, they had gone out of town and left me in care of the house. University students shocked to discover their professor was a gay adult film star

University students were astonished to find out that their maths professor had a secret past life – in the muscle daddy adult film industry.

But Ruggero Freddi, who teaches at La Sapienza University in Rome, said he was not ashamed of his history.

Speaking to Italian publication Republica, Freddi said he entered the industry after spending time looking for engineering work in Italy without success.

“I was offered to do a film in the USA,” he said.

Speaking to GSN, Freddi explained that he knew his past life would come out at some point.

However, he was unfazed when a Facebook video posted by him showing him flexing his muscles led to someone contacting a reporter with the revelation.

“I knew sooner or later something was going to happen, but I didn’t expect something so big to happen,” he said.

“I thought someone would publish something and my students would talk about it for a while, but I wasn’t expecting the entire country to actually speak about it.”

Freddi went on to emphasise that he had no regrets in acting in the porn industry.

“I am happy and proud of both my careers,” he said.

WRONG!  Hillary has not only been treated fairly, she's gotten a free pass for decades.  She should have been disqualified from running for anything, and put in JAIL.

I agree. This has become a problem for me. there are times when I just keep rolling in my bed unable to fall asleep, then I just turn on the TV masturbate so that I can sleep.

That does sound somewhat problematic. Many people don't acknowledge it, but orgasm can be very addictive. The endorphins released during an orgasm are the same released while doing cocaine, so it is entirely possible to become physically, emotionally, or even chemically addicted.

Also, the conditions one has when falling asleep can be trained into the sleep pattern. I've been reading before sleep for almost thirty years, now. That means every time I open a book, I get groggy, and it also means that if I don't have a book to distract myself from the day, I'm going to have a hard time falling asleep.

If you're concerned and you want to stop, you might try replacing it with another activity that will shut out the noise of the day, and relax you. Like I said, I like to read myself to sleep. A good escapist book like sci-fi or fantasy (but not TOO good, otherwise, it will keep you up all night; I've done that with more than a few real page-turners) is a great way to leave the day behind and relax your mind. Or you can memorize a piece of poetry and recite it to yourself over and over until it lulls you to sleep. The concept behind "counting sheep" is based on this; the soothing repetition of a simple idea will shut out worries and busy thoughts, and allow the brain to relax until it rests.

Anyway, that's just my $0.02. I'm no psychologist or sleep pathologist, just a late thirty-something who has had to find a way to sleep when making a goey mess wasn't an option.

Used to, when I was a teen. As I grew older (and have had, at different times, partners with whom I slept), I got out of that habit. Currently, I am sleeping alone again, but I'm more likely to read myself to sleep, than jerk off.

Your degree in "debate judging" is absolutely irrelevant to the topic at hand.  You being a "debate judge" has less than zero bearing on your claim that Frederick's substitutes opinion for fact.  In fact, it makes your claim look weak as fuck, because it's a blatant and classic appeal to authority fallacy.  Surely as a "debate judge" you should know that.

1. I haven't claimed to have a degree in anything. My degrees are not germane to the topic, so I haven't discussed them.
2. The fallacy is "appeal to inappropriate authority, like quoting Carl Sagan in his discussions on theology, when he was an astrophysicist, or claiming to understand how debate works, when your degree is in statistics.

Then you'd be a fool.  Anyone on the internet can claim to have a PhD.  I mean, I do, but you have no way of knowing that I'm telling the truth.  That is why credentials are completely irrelevant doubly so on the internet, even more than they already are in real life.  Accept an argument because it makes sense, not because someone claims to be an expert on it.

I prefer to go by the maxim, "trust, but verify." And which of us are you calling the liar? Me, in which case you're committing an ad hominem fallacy, or yourself, in which case, there's no further value in discussing this with you.

Grevmo, nobody cares that you're a "debate judge".  On the internet, a wise man once said, everyone is equal behind the keyboard.  For example, I could bring up that I have a PhD in statistics, but I don't because it's irrelevant.

The fact that you keep clinging on to your meaningless claim as a means of presenting yourself as an authority shows how little you actually understand about how debate on the internet actually works and also how empty your platitudes on fact vs. opinion really are.

I've been an internet user since CARL was actually a series of libraries exclusively in Colorado. I know how it works, and I will continue to establish experience-based authority based when it is appropriate to do so. For example, if you were sharing statistics, then your PhD would have value for citation, and I would respect what you have to say more in that field. But in this case, you're just piling things higher and deeper, so citing your doctorate has no real-world value. Ironically, whereas I cited my experience because it was germane to the topic, you cited yours to be a bully.
