I think this is indeed worthy of debate and it is in a sense political.  It is a wide ranging discussion topic.

I will say that it is important to be objective and while I personally cannot stand Facebook, I can see certain advantages depending
on your social outlook, personality and even career aspirations or political gain.

Some individuals find physical social interactions a challenge, therefore Facebook is an ideal platform for them.
Facebook can reunite friends or even distant relatives.
It can be used to quickly disperse alerts or appeals to the public for information.

On the downside:

It is used by criminals and terrorists.

People post not drunk but stupidly about their boss and end up fired.

To be honest we could go on and on posting the positives and negatives, if anyone is concerned about Facebook the answer is simple, do not join.  I do not like it, I feel with data mining and ever increasing technological advances, the platform will not be used for the greater good and that is a whole new debate entirely.

I think Facebook will fall flat on its face once one big story emerges about it being a data mining operation. 
Facebook is like an inflating balloon, that will eventually burst.

The moonbats would go as ballistic as one of Kim Jung Un's missiles if someone ever defaced, vandalized, or removed the statue or monument of someone like MLK Jr.  What's with the police and FBI?  Do they specify which historical figures can be vandalized without incurring an arrest for a hate crime?

And then there are all these marches.  Basically what is going on there is that one side is legally getting the permits to have a march.. and one would assume that when notifying the local government about that march, and getting their approval.. that sufficient security would be provided to be sure that the people who got legal permission for their march would be protected, and guaranteed the security to carry on with their march.
BUT, the exact opposite is happening.  Everytime someone has a legal march, a load of hooligans illegally show up and disrupt that legal march.  They bring weapons with them, and chase off their speakers.  Then, when the people who had the legal right to be there confront the people who did NOT have the legal right to be there.. the people who DID have the legal right to be there get blamed for any disruptions!

Here's an idea… whenever there is a march, the only signs and banners that should be permitted are those that have been pre-approved and given a sticker of some sort.  Anybody caught with a sign or banner without a sticker should be immediately arrested.

I'm not sure who you are referring to as the "five innocent black men".   To begin with, it is impossible to prove someone to be innocent.  They can be found "not guilty" or "acquitted" but not "innocent".   I think you might be referring to the central park incident.  Just because their DNA was not found in the woman's cooch doesn't mean they didn't rape her and certainly doesn't mean they didn't beat the shit out of her.   If that is whom you are referring to, that is a very poor example.

The murderer who confessed acted alone and that has been proven beyond a doubt now. The five who were charged and coerced into admitting guilt never came into contact with the woman, which was proven and why they were awarded the money following years of court hearings where it was proven that they never came into contact with her. Yes, they are innocent and they were exonerated. Our president is still calling for their deaths and has not walked it back and that is indefensible. It is disgusting and against how our justice system works.

I hope you are still posting when the case I have been working on for 5 years comes up.  THAT is a case in which there was NO evidence against the guy, the government forced him to take heavy duty psychiatric medications - enough to kill a horse, turn his skin green, and caused him to gain 70 pounds in 8 months.  Even then, it took 20 months to get him to not deny the crime.  He never did confess to it.  What he did say is loaded with contradictions, omissions, and doesn't fit the timeline.  The prosecution even said that what he finally stated in documents - which were never read to the jury - and he never testified other than to say he was Not Guilty of all charges in his arraingment, pre-trial, and trial - were statements made just to pursue an insanity plea cooked up by his crooked attorney - who it turns out is the best friend of a man that worked for the main person filing charges against him.  That is like having a defense attorney who is the brother of the husband of a woman that was murdered.  The psychiatrist that brainwashed the man was on the payroll of the police for several years, which the accused / convicted man was never made aware of.  The accused man is on record as saying that what he told the psychiatrist was what his lawyer told him to say as a condition of pursuing an insanity plea.  You think I will get that guy out?  You can bet your sweet bippy I will!  One of the reasons I am in this group is to practice beating back fake statements and crazy buffoons such as the moonbats.

Moonbats are continuing to deface and remove busts of Robert E Lee.  Why? 
For one thing.. pretty much nobody was paying attention to them or was offended by them.
