    • Saturday September 23 2017 - NK says nuclear strike on US mainland is inevitable

      I don't know what it takes to provoke an attack these days.

      In fact, if the USA did get nuked, the moonbats would blame Trump for not doing something about it first!

      Think of it this way.. if a public threat was made before 9/11/2001 that the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were going to be attacked, at what point should the taliban, Afghanistan be attacked?  At what point should the hijacked planes be shot down?

      Again, this is really China's fault.  They could put an end to NK's shenanigans overnight.  It is interesting that NK has never threatened China.. hmm?

      The problem with North Korea is that they are trying to go UP the DOWN escalator!

      Obama's legacy goes on.  After giving Iran billions of $$$ and getting nothing in return.. now we have Iran blatantly violating that agreement  and launching an ICBM capable of reaching Israel with several warheads!  Anybody who thinks Israel will allow this to continue is smoking crack.

      This makes it even MORE likely for Trump to attack North Korea.. to demonstrate that this kind of behavior of rogue nations violating agreements and developing nukes to take out their enemies is not going to be tolerated.

      You KNOW Hillary worships Satan. You voted for that witch because of some stupid grab 'em by the pussy shit. SO damn shallow. You are nothing but IDIOTS.

      WE are the FUTURE. YOU are the PAST.

      This reminds me of the episode of Southpark where Satan sends Saddam Hussein to Heaven, because Saddam is having too much fun in Hell and making too many problems for Satan.    I can see Satan now, begging god to take Hillary off his hands.

      Laughing is a "hail Mary" attempt by sleaze such as Hillary to derail a line of questioning when they are backed up against a wall with no place to go.

      Also, if you look at the posts of the most notorious long red liners.. they often end their sentences with an LOL.  They have nothing to offer but ridicule.

      @cteavin:

      Oh, I'm a very white American expat. I've been living here for twenty plus years – and will never go back.

      Perhaps what you said was true before the 90's but not being accepted and welcome into the society isn't the norm now. Let's put a caveat on that.

      If you live here and do not speak the language, you will not assimilate. Without understanding and speaking the language you will not be able to socialize. The people I've met who believe that Japan is a racist country are the people who expect Japan to bend its culture to suit them and speak English with/to them.

      Since I learned the language I have never once been spoken to or treated unkindly or excluded. When I couldn't speak the language I often felt apart.

      These days more and more Japanese abled Western people are on TV. There was even a woman who was cast in the lead of a major Japanese TV series a couple of years ago. Japan knows it needs foreign workers and they're laying the groundwork.

      One more caveat: Generation snowflake. Oh, I hate these people. These pompous little shits who come here and expect everyone to bend over backword to their will – oh, and they want to educate, too.

      "Oh, women are so mistreated here. You should...".
      "Oh, you can't refuse me service, you have to work with me and my dictionary. I don't care if you have other customers...".
      " Oh, what do you mean there's no vegetarian option? You have to accommodate me cry, cry, cry."

      A few weeks ago I was coming home from the airport by bus. This 30-ish-year-old woman ran to the bus with two young kids in tow, banged on the door as the bus was pulling away and demanded to be seated. The bus driver stopped and put her luggage in the outdoor compartment and let her board. She claimed to get car sick and requested the people in the front move so that she and her kids could sit up front. No one moved and she had to sit herself and her kids in various empty seats loudly complaining the whole time about how rude Japanese are.

      The point is, pay attention to what kind of people say X is Y.

      In many areas of the USA, the opposite is true.  In my own experience, there are areas of Miami, Tampa, and NYC where if you don't speak SPANISH… you get treated like you just landed from Mars.

      @mhorndisk:

      I said there is always a diplomatic solution. Going to war is what the globalists want. Hell no. War costs lives. I would go for assassination before I would go to all out war. I'm not an expert on what's going on, but if war happens, it is what it is. If they attack us, then yes, but there is always a path to peace that doesn't include war.

      The problem with polls is that they often don't give the right options.
      Assassination of that crazy Kim Jung Poon would probably be the best solution, BUT.. other than LBJ, taking out a leader from within has rarely happened.  Kimmy has wiped out his opposition already.  Something must be done, Kim has to go.  There is no diplomatic solution with a living Kim.

      @mhorndisk:

      These motherfuckers tell us they FORGOT how to go to the moon!!! They went 29 FUCKING times! This is because they know we are watching and they can't fake it anymore. While we give them $18 Billion dollars a year!? Got to be insane!

      Youtube Video

      I'm so sick of all these liberals wearing trendy NASA shirts. We need to take away their funding immediately. They never went to the fucking moon, it was all Hollywood garbage. On top of it they say "we lost all the Apollo videos. We don't know where they went!"

      Yea, now that we have Photoshop to prove you faked the pics. Just stop it already with the bullshit. NASA needs to be defunded NOW. They are totally lying. The video of Astro-NOT Don Pettit came out AFTER Trump asked them to go back to the moon, and they say, "We forgot how to do that." FUCK. YOU. If you actually are SO DAMN stupid to think they went to the moon at this point. They DIDN'T. You are just a faithful bastard at this point, taking FAKE science as reality.

      NASA's funds and purpose are ambiguous.  It looks like the science part of NASA has been defunded, but there is more to it than that.  The air force is actually two parts, one for planes and the other "unseen" air force that overlaps with NASA.  NASA has been used as a "cover" for the military many times before - most notably in the U2 / Russia / Gary Powers fiasco.  When compared to the military budget, $18 billion is peanuts.

      @cteavin:

      I'm stating facts. We all need to understand the realities in order to think about what's going on in the world, in order have an informed opinion. Stating the facts about China isn't praise, though it is true China has done a lot since the 80's that I admire in building its country.

      Your facts are wrong.

      In the 1800's Great Britain forced China to buy opium in trade for its goods. Opium. The UK caused an epidemic of drug addiction and colonized parts of its territory. You're right, China was fucked hard from the outside but it eventually got control of itself and has utterly transformed itself.

      And for historical accuracy, Japan occupied Manchuria, not the whole of China. Part of the reason Japan was able to do this (and part of the reason China and Taiwan were able to recover after WWII) is that Japan built infrastructure and focused on education. It could do this because of proximity. Contrast Japan's colonial results to what the UK did to India.

      Going back further in time, Japan got a lot of its culture from China. When China was a unified whole it shaped all of Asia. China didn't modernize at the same rate as the European powers. That, combined with the difficulties in maintaining a huge land mass at a time before electricity and effective communication, fragmented the country. I'm not going into it here but read the history of China before you assume it's some weak, hick backwater.

      I assume you live in Japan.. are you asian / japanese yourself?    One negative thing I have heard about Japan is that if you are not japanese, you are an outcast in society.

      I guess Kim Jung Un vowing to sink Japan into the ocean means nothing..
      Rocketman recently launched 2 ICBM's right over Japan, causing Japan to warn their citizens to seek shelter.
      KJU has been consistently setting off more ICBM tests and more nuclear explostions.. and now says he is considering
      detonating a nuke over the Pacific Ocean.

      What does NK have to do before people consider him to be a real threat?   Nuke NYC?   He's already got the missiles that can reach NYC in 40 mins.

      Yes and no.

      Do you speak another language? In translating between A and B a lot is lost. Translating to any Latin or Germanic language from any of the Asian languages makes those translations 1000 times more difficult because there are subtleties built into each language.

      In Japanese they have keigo, honorifics based on age and social position. Translations often make Japanese sound more polite and distant than it actually is and makes for terrible translations when taken literally. The same is true for Korea. How, exactly, do you sink an island? Kim's words are bluster and people here understand that.

      As for seeking shelter, be aware of the bias in the news you watch. There's a need to cast the tiny little-impoverished country of North Korea as a supervillain capable of destroying the US. That way of thinking about individuals terrorists gave us The Patriot Act. Those misdirections in the news made it okay to bomb Iraq and Afghanistan.

      No one went looking for shelter when NK sent rockets over Japan. Not even close. They did broadcast it on the news and that's all they talked about for the hour or so it happened. What's odd to me is that NK has launched missiles over Japan before with much less fuss. What's different? PM Abe wants to pass his amendments changing the constitution. Nothing says we need an army like a country flying missiles over your northernmost, least densely populated region.

      In regards to translation, I'm glad you mentioned that.  Specifically,  translating between Chinese and English is damned near impossible.

      @cteavin:

      Well, their economy is fake enough that every bank on the planet is indebted to them. What are you trying to prove? I'm simply stating a fact. Depending on the numbers you use China and the US are interlocked between the number one and two slots and every forecast predicts that China will overtake the US as the world's largest economy in the short-term.

      As for communism, there are different kinds and it's really about the degree to which certain policies are implemented. So my question to you is what kind of Communist practices are you saying that China practices?

      By contrast, the US is a capitalist democracy but the policies we've put into place make ours blend something uniquely American, neither wholly capitalist nor democratic. China is no difference blend of economics and government it practices are not classical communism.

      But again, I don't understand what you want to say. You seem to be trying to dismiss anything positive about another country because it would imply the US is somehow lacking if you concede that another country has a positive? Is that your feeling?

      I don't know why you keep praising China.
      Throughout history, Japan has ALWAYS kicked China's ass even though China is a massive land mass with 1.3 billion people vs. 127 million people in Japan.  When one is dominated by a country less than 1/10th the population.. something is gagootz.

      Trump wants it passed because it shows that something is being accomplished with the do-nothing Congress. It shows he is getting them to do their job. But the result of this Obamacare lite, even though each state will get to decide what to do with the money, is the same damn tax that I hate fucking paying. Why the fuck should I have to pay for a communist healthcare system?

      Yes, but when it comes to healthcare, there is no good option.  However, the republicans (especially John McCain) campaigned HEAVILY on the promise of repealing and replacing Osamacare - so they have to do something.

      They need to start regulating the healthcare industry to get COSTS DOWN… only.. they can't because under Obamacare, the government made a deal with the Insurance companies to NOT regulate them!!!!   Obamacare does exactly the OPPOSITE of what it is supposed to do.  It was supposed to make healthcare affordable so that people can have healthcare.   Instead, it sucks up money, making healthcare even MORE unaffordable.  Even if you have a medical problem..  Obamacare sucks 20% out of one's salary, and if you use it, there is still about a $700 deductible.

      I don't know a single person who thinks that NK will bomb Japan but the government is responsible for taking the threat seriously and so there is a lot of talk on the news about what to do. PM Abe is using the threat to help push forward amendments to the constitution (allowing Japan to have a defensive and offensive military) – and it will work, the balls already rolling on that.

      Well, I generally agree with all of that.
      It would be great for Trump to get this new bill passed.  It would be good for the republican party to get it passed.  I don't think there is such a thing as a good healthcare bill.  The US government has no business REQUIRING people to purchase insurance.  Social Security is forced insurance.. of which Medicare is a part.

      I'm not a fan of the government controlling MY life.  They should stick to representing the people on the global stage looking OUTWARDS instead of meddling in my affairs.

      @cteavin:

      The US did land them on the moon 48 years ago – then never went back and has only recently looked towards Mars.

      By contrast, China's economy and infrastructure were similar to the US circa 1790 in 1969. Plus they were in the middle of a huge population explosion with massive hunger and Mao's great idea was to starve 20 - 45 million of his people to death. (numbers vary)

      To say China has made great strides forward does not diminish the United States accomplishments. The US should learn from China because we're sliding backward into poverty with a failing infrastructure and we're taking on more people with unnecessary immigration.

      As for numbers, the difference is real vs nominal. This article explains it simply. http://www.businessinsider.com/china-overtakes-us-as-worlds-largest-economy-2014-10

      (If you look for them you can read the original reports from The World Bank, etc.)

      Perhaps it wasn't big news in the US but in 2014 when China entered the number one slot Japan was bumped to number three – the news was all over the airwaves here. I got a great education into our economies are intertwined then.

      Actually.. the USA's first manned mission to the moon was in 1969.  And we DID return.
      12 men have walked on the moon.. all USA.
      Apollo 11, Apollo 12, Apollo 14, Apollo 15, Apollo 16 and Apollo 17.  What is the point in going back to the moon over and over again, when the objective has been reached?
      The reason for going to the moon was not to find some funny rocks, but as an excuse to fund the development of ICBMs.
      Similarly, the space shuttle program had a secret side.. The X-37B.  Those are unmanned shuttles that stay in orbit for years.
      Youtube Video

      That link you gave about the Chinese economy reveals the discrepancy in numbers.  It states that it is cheaper to buy the same products in Shanghai than in San Francisco.  Why?  because China is communist, and they rigidly control all prices.  Chinese people are virtually unable to purchase anything outside of China because their money isn't worth squat outside of China.  Their money basically only has value inside of China - which is typical of Communism.  In other words.. their economy is quite fake.

      I was not aware of that.  I heard that Japan had to make artificial islands and level off mountains into flat surfaces to create more land.  I also heard that in Japan, entire families have to live in the same house for several generations to pay for it.

      I wonder who is paying China and Russia for the foot, I don't think China and Russia are known for giving food away.

      If North Korea is interested in TRADE… why don't they try offering to do away with their nukes and ICBMs in exchange for better trade?  They do the opposite.. they keep going further with their nukes and ICBMs leading to even more sanctions and embargos.

      It's also not very nice of that fat turd ruling NK to execute people including his own family members and closest advisors by blasting them to bits with anti-aircraft artillery.     Hmm.. that might be a good idea!  Line up  Hillary, Pelosi, Schumer, Waters, McCain, Colbert, Lemon, etc. and mow them down with artillery!

      I showed my bf your comment about Japan. He's speechless. (lol) He never shuts up, too. Thank you.

      I'm quoting here, "No. What?", with a priceless quizzical face.

      He says after the war there was a need to expand and that they did need to reclaim land and plan for food but that's more his grand parent's issue. As for the house, no. Mortgages actually have really low interest rates here. They pay them off quickly.

      North Korea does produce things, including food. Their main trading partners are China, South Korea, and Russia. With the sanctions, they're limited in what they can trade and to whom.

      As for nukes, North Korea has a political philosophy called Juche where the leaders are, more or less, worshiped. Think of it as the Kims are everyone's father-figure and they are his/their children. All must obey the father. It goes a long way in understanding the cult of personality surrounding that family. They also have a military policy called songun which means the military is on top because it protects the nation (which is one big extended family). If you're lucky enough to get in the military, you're set for life, and just as we, in the West, support our Capitalist/Democratic ideologies even though some things are fucked up, the people of North Korea have never risen against their leaders. In the context of Asian thinking and their political beliefs, it makes perfect sense.

      The Kim's sought out nuclear weapons simply because it affords status on the world stage. Think about it: If NK had real nuclear missiles they'd have a powerful bargaining chip to renegotiate their position. That's what they're going for and the former President Clinton was stupid enough to give it to them. If Hilary had won, Kim would be setting the terms right now. Not likely with Trump, though; and so the world is on edge.

      It is true that Kim had his relatives executed. It's also true that his nephew, that now dead brother's son, wants to change NK, and that's a no-no. Again, juche and songun.

      And I wouldn't believe take literally what someone says in the paper right now about what happens in North Korea. There's a lot of incentive to paint them as evil mosters in case we go to war. My feeling is that these stories were released towards that end.

      What does Japan think about Kim Jun Un vowing to sink Japan into the ocean with nukes?

      I agree that up until now, NK's system of blackmail and bluffs has worked fairly well for them.  It won't work with Trump.  In fact, one thing Trump can do without the approval of congress is to attack anybody he wants.  He might attack NK just as a demonstration to show people who's boss.  Trump has already done this in Syria and Afghanistan on a small scale.  Those were the two times when the democraps were HAPPY and supportive of Trump.

      First of all… the one's to blame for the disaster in North Korea is North Korea.   They screwed themselves.

      As for who is the biggest economy, that would be the United States which is 24.32% of the world's economy.   China is a distant second at 14.84%     Considering that China has over 4 times the population of the USA... that is pretty pathetic!   Per capita, China only has about 3.7% of the world's economy.
      https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2017/03/worlds-biggest-economies-in-2017/

      Like all statistics, they read based on which data you pull the numbers from. There are two principle ways banks and governments judge which is the bigger economy and both what you and I wrote are correct. I'm talking about real terms in which The World Bank, The International Monetary Fund, and other financial/governmental entities declared in 2014 that China surpassed the US. You're talking GPD in which China is forecasted to overtake the US as early as next year. Neither set of numbers disproves what I said: Your thinking about China's motivations is flawed, unrealistic, and suicidal.

      And why do you feel a need to call another country "pathetic"? I don't see the point.

      China raised its people out from abject poverty and turned itself into a global superpower in twenty years – 20. China in the 1990's was still largely dirt roads leading into and out of destitute villages where hunger was common and there was no infrastructure. Last year China landed their own rangers and telescopes ON THE MOON.

      China is an amazing country you ought to visit. Myself, I was in Tibet for summer vacation. The Chinese are modernizing the country. It's incredible what they've been able to do.

      As for North Korea, my point is only that the US has no business dictating other countries politics, especially when they've/we've been hypocritical with countries like Saudi Arabia.

      Glad to see that China landed a telescope on the moon in 2016.  The USA landed men on the moon 48 years ago.
      Maybe they will get around to inventing indoor plumbing soon.

      I don't know where you are getting your information from.  Here is a link to the World Bank Rankings of 2016.  By the way, China's economy is slowing down.

      Well, I live in Japan. Korea is a common weekend trip. 😉

      Japan's population is shrinking, not growing. The news here centers on the number of unused homes, empty apartments, and small towns that are uninhabited. Japan neither needs nor wants any part of Korea. As for natural resources, those are in NK.

      North Korea – I almost went there on holiday once -- isn't so unlike the US. Within our borders we have the world's largest prison population. North Korea uses theirs for domestic slave labor; we pay prisoners less than minimum wage for their services.

      NK gets the food to feed its military through trade with China and Russia. It's not often reported in the western press but NK sends slave workers to China and Russia as a resource. Along with that NK gets food aid from the UN, Japan, the US. Those goods are distributed first to the elite and then to the poor.

      I think NK is grossly misunderstood and we all should try rethink our assumptions.

      To be sure, NK has to lose its nuclear program but at the same time, the West has to accept that it forced them into a position where they felt they needed to arm themselves not to be taken over. They need to either assassinate Kim Un or ease NK back into the global community through trade.
