    • RE: My prediction for MONDAY…

      @Frederick:

      Manafort was Trump's campaign manager who resigned months before the election.  Trump barely knew the man.

      Um, Manny and Trump traveled in the same influence-peddling circles for decades, but of course, I'm sure this group never took the time to kick around ways to back-deal and grease the skids for each other.

      "Manafort and political strategist and informal Trump adviser Roger J. Stone Jr. co-founded the Washington, D.C.-lobbying firm Black, Manafort, Stone and Kelly in the early 1980s."

      https://www.yahoo.com/news/brief-history-manaforts-relationship-trump-180905991.html

      @Frederick:

      By the way… the murder case I sometimes refer to involves a chief of staff.  For those who don't know, a "chief of staff" is someone who is empowered to perform the actions and speak for the person they are chief of staff for.   It's kind of like having a substitute teacher or guest host on Johnny Carson.  Anyway, in that murder case, a government official charged an (innocent) man with a crime that he was convicted for, and that charge resulted in the falsely accused man being sentenced to life in prison with NO chance of parole!   Now, here comes the crazy part.  The father of the murder victim THANKED the DEFENSE attorney after the conviction.  This is where it gets really crazy.. the best friend of the defense attorney was the chief of staff of that government official at the time of the murder!!  That has got to be the biggest, most outrageous conflict of interest in the history of the planet!

      Please tell me this is a Halloween prank of yours.  Boo, it's the International Murder Case – endlessly invoked, causing threads to be diverted, offering the same fragments of details that never coalesce into a proper account.

      It's a triple-decker "nothing burger," as far as the topics on this P&D board are concerned.  Should we get out a timer to see when this murky non-starter will raise its head again?

    • RE: Abortion hypocrisy

      @cteavin:

      The number of women who have an abortion in the third trimester is low. Women who are having abortions that late have some kind of reason for choosing an abortion over c-section. In fact, here's the account of a woman whose baby wouldn't be able to survive outside the womb, so at 31 weeks she chose to end the pregnancy.

      https://jezebel.com/interview-with-a-woman-who-recently-had-an-abortion-at-1781972395

      Now to get serious again, and more to the thread's original topic, I read the entirety of the Jezebel interview and was pretty blown away.

      It's a dark and nightmarish journey for this woman, who recounts being told her 31-week fetus had turned "unviable" for outside life, and how the trail of anti-abortion radicals' efforts made her journey so much harder and dangerous.  Plenty of medical details not for the squeamish, I assure you.  Thanks, ct, for sharing the link.

      The ladies do tend to use sex as a weapon of control.

      Youtube Video

      This time, you have found a great YouTube moment to accompany the discussion.  Although the way I interpret Pat Benatar's music video and lyrics, she is blaming her boy-toy for his using Sex as a Weapon.

      Hard to believe such a bitchin' song only hit #28 on the BillBoard charts in 1986, lol…

      @raphjd:

      I'm sorry, but some girls use abortion as birth control.

      And their male partners aren't exactly wearing a rubber to help out, are they?

      Or as well, it's the boys in the thrusting role.  They know when they're about to shoot.  How many abortions would be avoided if boys, who also understand the pregnancy risk, just gave them a facial?  :cum:

    • Does Marijuana Make You Horny, Baby?

      A study published today in the Journal of Sexual Medicine (!) suggests that people who smoke more weed are having more sex than those who smoke less or abstain:

      http://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2017/10/27/560268250/does-smoking-pot-lead-to-more-sex

      If you indulge in pot, do you find it penis-positive?  Or does it put you in a mood for some Chinese take-out and a movie?  Perhaps it's part of a night out and some drinks with friends?

      Let's see if we can add to the growing research…!   :mbounce:

      @Frederick:

      I see a red line growing under your name…

      Frederick, absolutely no one (save you) cares about this forum's old-school Reputation system.  It's the Atari game station, the Wang computer disk, and the Blockbuster video store of opinion-polling.  It's the last refuge of people who find themselves on the short end of debating with actual words.

      You should be thankful that no one clicks on that "Thumbs Down Hand" that hovers, reproachfully, under your avatar.

      Oops!

      Well, since that cat is out of the bag, is it worth our consideration that (as of this writing) you've tallied 2,043 fat Thumbs Down, against a mere 564 Thumbs Up?

      You've claimed that several members down-voted your posts en masse, without considering their merits.  Even so, should I choose to believe that the vast majority of your efforts are unworthy?

      No, I won't.  But seriously, dude, you're shaming no one.  Find better ways to raise your game.

    • RE: Dems try to block POTUS from a preemptive strike. Thoughts?

      I'm concerned about the conflicting (and unvetted) messaging that North Korea receives from Trump's tweets.

      Separately, I'm concerned about his recent moves to "play to the base," including the push for puritanical religious freedoms that are rolling back LGBT protections:

      https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/how-trump-uses-religious-liberty-to-attack-lgbt-rights

      Now, when you mash these ideas together, and I see Trump feeding on the adulation from his core supporters for these recent "victories," I feel some unease that he will, on the topic of preemptive war with North Korea, think about pleasing the base one more time:

      http://www.newsweek.com/republicans-want-trump-go-war-north-korea-kim-jong-un-attacks-us-new-poll-683826

      In the current climate, it might be quite a challenge to secure formal Senate Republican backing for "Trump/North Korea Preventive" legislation.  I'll call Susan Collins tomorrow and see what she's doing for lunch.   :laugh:

      Although I was initially disinclined to post here, I have an observation that spans several threads dealing with gender and social justice.

      And it is this:

      No point of debate, no personal anecdote, and no attempt at critical thought or persuasion is strengthened by calling a woman a "cunt."

      It will be interesting to see how Islam fares now that viable alternatives to middle east oil are rapidly being developed (such as coal and fracking).

      In the same arena, if anyone would like to read a piece on "consent" specifically geared to our community, here you go.  And it's from the UK, no less:

      https://www.gmfa.org.uk/fs162-consent-and-the-gay-community   :cool2:

      In case you didn't see it, I made a separate topic based on this article you shared.

      Yes, and  :thx:

      What's nice about that "Consent" thread – as of this writing -- is that the posters are sharing their own interesting stories about consent, and it's very focused, on-topic, and almost free of hyperbole.  Unfortunately, it still has some classless vulgarity, a trend that seems to have increased as of late, and does nothing to prove a point or lend credibility to the individual.

      @Frederick:

      Often on Chaturbate… (excerpted)

      Does anybody find this ass appealing?

      I appreciate your keeping it real, Frederick, and sharing your Chaturbate research with us.

      In this wonderful world of men, I actually DO like a bit of fur on a guy's ass.  As with cteavin's remarks, I'm not as keen on full back hair, and unattended neck hair.  Ear and nose hair, ct?  Please, I just had lunch.   :puke:

      And yet, for those of us who come to GT for more than the sparkling debate  –  :rotfl:  -- we know that on the porn side, there's plenty of super-furry models, with copious downloading.

      As for the rest of your Chaturbate couple viewing, Frederick, it does sound extremely off-putting.  You might not be able to “unsee” that strung-out chick losing her cigarette, but perhaps this friendly and smooth Chaturbator could take a little of the edge off:

    • RE: The Orville

      I've seen just one episode of The Orville, the second one, "Command Performance."

      The whole plot seemed boiled down to 60 minutes of a one-note script.  "Yes, young lady, you can lead the ship!  Yes, you can!  Believe!  Don't act like a child, and more like a captain!  Oh, you made mistakes that should have meant the ship's end, but somehow, it didn't!  You're a hero!  Hooray!"

      I felt like it was scripted for tweens, there was precious little fresh science fiction, and none of it remotely cerebral.

      For me, The Orville comes off as neither comedy, nor drama.  I love Seth as a voice actor, but he just feels wrong in this role, and since his "Million Wild West Ways" movie was also lacking, perhaps he should stick to animation and directing.

    • RE: Get some prison cells ready for Obama and Hillary…

      @Frederick:

      In some countries, Hillary and Obama would be executed for their treason.

      http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/10/22/house-also-probing-obama-era-uranium-one-deal-desantis-says.html

      Youtube Video

      If your goal is to inform us of a treason so onerous that it's worthy of execution in some far-flung locales, then you're providing very weak support with a news citation of unproven conduct that – as even the Fox headline clearly states -- is a House probe, and naturally, an allegation supported by a nameless, "confidential" informant.

      But I was glad to find that the YouTube link was not another tin-foil-hat raver holding court in a reclining lounger.  Instead, a musical respite in the theme to TV's Cops, a show I do enjoy!  Not that you enjoy actual cops, as you've repeatedly noted.  Is there – please God! -- a related story about your police run-ins that can take the place of your never-ending, incomplete, international hush-hush murky murder mystery?!?   :crazy2:

    • "Sordid Lives" Films and TV Show

      I know that the Southern gay farce, Sordid Lives, was a film from 2000; a TV show, Sordid Lives: The Series, for one year in 2008; and – after much waiting -- a second movie called A Very Sordid Wedding – earlier this year.

      These vehicles had several gay icons and allies, including Delta Burke, Rue McClanahan, Caroline Rhea and outrageous drag from Leslie Jordan.

      Are you a Sordid fan?  Who or what made it special?  Are you eager to see the new Wedding movie?  Or if you've already seen it, how would you rate it?

    • Are There Other Uses for Grindr?

      We all know that the Grindr app lets gay men find Mr. Right – or Mr. Right Now -- with a few keystrokes and swipes.

      But the following Queerty article suggests that a growing (but still small) number of guys are using Grindr for more general purposes -- in this case, where to get late-night food:

      https://www.queerty.com/youve-heard-uber-eats-ready-grindr-eats-20171021

      Have you ever used Grindr for something unrelated to a pick-up?  Looking for a roommate?  A platonic friend?  Places to dance?  Gay-friendly vacation ideas?  Or, something else entirely that came up in conversation?

      Or, do you think Grindr is at its best for one purpose only?   :hump:

      @cteavin:

      Personally, I'd chose a beautiful man over a qualified woman if I had the choice in hiring. And I prefer doing school counselings with our handsome students more than the, um, average ones. It doesn't mean I'm unfair to other people.

      Love ya, dude, but choosing to hire a handsome man over a (you're inferring, "more") qualified woman is a textbook example of unfairness to the latter.

      Separately, I've seen a level of integrity in your collected posts to believe that while you may enjoy counseling better-looking students more, you also take care of those Plain Janes.  You're one relentlessly candid SOB!   :pleasant:
