    • Is it okay to bring young children to gay pride? How about in drag?

The author has a point in that the mother brings the child to gay pride in makeup, not that the child goes, as in, by himself. The parents bear responsibility for what their children see and do.

When I read these kinds of stories that are against bringing kids to Pride events they fall into two categories: There's too much sex in the air or the event normalizes (what is for your judgment).

Dressing a child in drag and taking them to Pride is new to me. I see a child getting lots of positive reinforcement at an age when the self isn't fully formed. In an age where parents are more likely to give anti-puberty drugs if their child feels they're transsexual, well, reinforcing gender-bending at a place with all that attention seems like a bad idea.

    • Kelly's speech edited for political means: What's the solution to stop this?

      Youtube Video

This really annoys me. I'm scrolling through Facebook with my morning coffee and find a link of John Kelly's speech explaining why Trump said what he said. The clip was about 10 minutes.

Further down the feed were several stories saying that Kelly's speech confirmed how disrespectful Trump was yada, yada, yada showing a 90-second clip – or worse, just a sentence or two.

With public discussion of fake news people should scrutinize the news they consume, but they don't. What's the phrase? You can lead a horse to water…

      What's the solution?

With the previous talk here about alleged Russian collusion with Trump's handlers, this is a relevant question. Even if Russia had been feeding fake news to the American people, ultimately it's the reader's fault for believing nonsense.

    • RE: Could anyone be "top only"?

      @JohnAllenson:

I know straight guys who masturbate with dildos.

      :closet:

Some can also be penis size. It's not often talked about but you have to be long enough to be able to penetrate past spread cheeks… Some men can't do that.

Also, if you're going to talk about being total tops, then there are total bottoms. Tops could be seen as hypermasculine and the bottoms as hyperfeminized. Is that cultural or biological? If there's any real science in the rise in the (so called) trans movement, there might be a genetic component.

    • What do you see as China's place in the world – 3 hour speech

I will eventually find a translation of the whole thing to sit back and watch but for now, there are the abridged versions released in the press.

In short, China is laying out a plan for it to be the next global leader.

There are good arguments to be made in that the West has dropped the ball in so many ways, including, but not limited to the Islamification of Europe, the loss of a clear Western ideology, the failures of capitalism, subcultures focused on victimhood.

In our lifetimes China has raised it's people out of poverty on an unprecedented scale. China has a clear demarcation of where it begins and the rest of the world starts. It is the rising star, so isn't it time for it to step into the spotlight?

    • Man rescued from Taliban: I thought they were joking that Trump was President…

      http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/355603-man-rescued-from-taliban-i-thought-my-captors-were-kidding-when

This made me laugh out loud when I read it.

Poor guy and his wife. They were held captive in the mountains of Afghanistan, their newborn daughter was murdered for being female and his wife was raped – it took five years to get released and he comes back to a world in which Trump is president.

      Talk about sureal.

    • RE: I have a prediction… about the fake news..

      @raphjd:

At the moment it seems like fake news, but you never know what will come in 30 years.

Pedo priests have been around for centuries, but only became a "truth" when that Canadian family refused to bow down to the Catholic church back in 1969.

Harvey Weinstein didn't only just start molesting females.  It's been going on for decades.

Muslims rape gangs have been an on going problem in the UK for decades, but we only "learned" about it a few years ago when the story got too big to keep quiet.

A proven conspiracy theory is no longer a CT, but part of history.   That's why it's always dishonest to say that no CT has ever been proven.   Ages, on another site, ago I did a list of nearly 500 proven CTs.

All three examples you gave involve people of power in a game (political or religious) where one group is demonized or has power. Priests and Muslims aren't allowed to have sex freely without repercussions, so it went underground. The Casting Couch is a long-standing trope. Everyone knew these things were happening – they weren't rumors.

A child porn ring in a pizza place? The Clinton's implicated? No. I'm am so confident this is fake news I will bet you my 401K. If within 30 years this is proven true, you may have my 401K. If it's false, I get yours. Deal?  :cool2:

    • Is asking a person out on a date who has already said no again sexual harassment

This is a question that totally perplexes me.

I've talked with many a millennial who are fervent that no is no and you must move on and never ask again. The history of literature and film have established a long-running trope that pusuing someone could be the start of a long-lasting romance.

      Where do you stand?

Here's an article that brought the question up.

    • Should we require an ID to vote?

Somewhere between fake news and bias is the knowledge that illegal immigrants vote. It's an easy fix. Require ID. To make it easy for all Americans to vote create a voting day that's not midweek, a national holiday.

    • RE: I have a prediction… about the fake news..

People need to distinguish fake news (bigfoot had my baby, the Clintons ran a child porn ring in a pizza hut basement) from bias.

The news has been biased against Trump from the beginning and so-called middle America understood this – but so did Trump. My favorite proof was during the first press conference he gave to the press corps. He said verbatim that what he would say would be taken out of context and it was, of course, his prediction was left out of it. Another simple example were his words thanking Russia for getting rid of diplomats as actual gratitude towards Putin and not the irony it was intended to be.

The term fake news has become part of the Japanese language. There is a real problem in reporting stories that are blatantly false but there is an even bigger problem in how the news is biased against POTUS but blind to it -- I don't think they see it.
