I don't use QTM but if you can see your own uploaded torrents seeding in the Torrent List everything is OK.
They would only show in uTorrent if you opened them in uTorrent. There is nothing to stop you downloading your torrents and checking them with uTorrent - at least I don't think there is

First the seeder doesn't necessarily want to be anonymous, ALL torrents are automatically made anonymous by the site software.
And 'dead' just means what you see, there are no seeders for that torrent right now. As it's only a little over 24 hours since it was posted, I'd give the seeder a chance. Who knows he might have been caught up in snow in north America or floods in the UK or protests in Kiev 
Torrents are not taken down immediately there are no seeders - there'd be a lot of gaps!! After a certain period where there have been no seeders staff will delete the torrent.
Meanwhile my advice would be to leave it open at your end and hope the original poster is able to resume

supershearer, I don't quite follow you there. Uploading either your own stuff or seeding stuff you have already downloaded is a sure way to increase your ratio.
You don't need to download new stuff to seed. I'm sure staff here will be talking you through ways of getting your download working again

There is a reward for first time seeders but I can't remember if you have to claim it or if it is automatic.
