Gov employees have special rights due to their unions. Vaccine mandates for thee, but not for me.

Government employees have special rights because they work under a CONTRACT. Yes, that contract is negotiated by a union, but you imply that ONLY unionized employees have contractual protections... and I have already shown that is false. It will come as a surprise to some that I think this is overreach, although it does appear near the bottom of the story that exceptions for medical issues may be offered.

• Multiple US City governments have already changed their polities to require vaccination because it is now FDA approved
• Multiple US Corporations have already announced policy changes to require proof of vaccination of their employees now that it is fully FDA approved

But it doesn't stop there... this is a WORLD-WIDE conspiracy, after all:

• Canada recently announced that COVID-19 vaccinations are required for all federal employees, as well as air, train, and cruise passengers! (Unvaccinated US cruise passengers better not leave the ship in a Canadian port! They may not be allowed back onboard!)
• Fiji (that bastion of Trump haters) has forced unvaccinated government workers to take leave (paid if they have earned it, otherwise unpaid). If they are still unvaccinated come November, they will be fired!
• Indonesia has made COVID-19 vaccines mandatory - individual fines for non-compliance start at 5-million Rupiah (about US$350)... but public flogging is also an option (no, really!) (What did you expect from this autocratic country?)
• In Italy, all healthcare workers, including pharmacists and paramedics, be vaccinated or be suspended indefinitely without pay.

This is a very partial list, but with the FDA full approval now behind us, this list will grow quickly...

Mind you: all of these requirements have certain exemptions... but those exemptions have to come from a licensed physician (medical Dr), not a politician (and not an ophthalmologist in KY! - although that may change if some new variant of COVID-19 starts causing cataracts! LOL)

School Boards in TX and FL continue to rebel against their idiotic Governors' absurd overreach in banning mask-mandates state-wide.

Mind you: I'm not so much in favor of mask mandates as I am in favor of letting each district decide on its own what its needs are!
Schools in rural areas with light COVID spread shouldn't be held to the same standards as urban districts ON-FIRE with COVID!
A basic tenet of real Conservatism is to put control in the hands of the most-local authority as it makes sense to do so... and state-wide control over mask mandates ain't that! Federal control would be even worse, but so-far Biden hasn't proposed national mask mandates.).

• In TX, one school board completely side-stepped their Governor's anti-mandate edict by simply putting mask-wearing into the school dress-code (ingenious!)
• In both FL and TX, School Boards are already processing changes to attendance requirements to include COVID-19 vaccination (along with Chicken Pox, MMR, and the handful of other vaccines already required).
• In TX, school superintendents are issuing mask mandates without board approval because the idiot who wrote the TX only provided penalties to school board members who violated the Governor's order
• In FL, at least 4 - including the 2 largest - school districts have openly defied their Gov's order prohibiting mask mandates, and threatening to withhold their pay if they vote otherwise... one Miami-Dade county SB member said it clearly: if the choice is a paycheck or to protect our kid's health, I'll forego the money!

For the country (USA):

• There were 7163 cases of TB in the US for the entire year of 2020 (see above: we get 3-times that number of new COVID-19 cases per day in Florida alone!) (source)

So, there are 2 options:

1. The torrent client ALREADY HAS the torrent (some do that when they CREATE the torrent. Because it was already there, and because it's a "private" torrent, the trackers aren't "merged" so only the original (useless) one remains.
   TO FIX: Delete the torrent (being CAREFUL to NOT DELETE the DATA!) in your client, then re-download from the site

2. The torrent client does not see the files that makeup the torrent in your default download location... you need to tell the torrent client WHERE the file(s) already exist. Otherwise, it thinks this is a new download.
   TO FIX: Delete the torrent (being CAREFUL to NOT DELETE the DATA!) in your client, then re-download from the site - and point your client to the RIGHT location of where you file(s) actually exist!

In the UK, we're getting to the point of being required to have constant booster shots to be "full vaccinated". This is especially true in Scotland.

Well, the Medical System in Fla right now is EQUALLY at a halt. Yesterday, every single hospital - public and private - in Hillsborough County was in "bypass mode" at one level or another. This is the county that is home to the city of Tampa. If you were in an accident in Tampa yesterday - you had to be taken to another county for life support. Our hospitals are FULL - and they're not full of TB cases, or HIV cases, or FLU cases... and over 95% of the people filling these hospital beds DID NOT receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

But to the point about needing an ID... you write as-if one ID is as good as any other, or that all of these services require a Government ID that would also suffice to be your ID to vote... that is just not true. The ID that you need to show to use your SNAP (Food Stamps) card is not the same ID you need to vote. The ID you need to use your public bus system pass is not the same ID you need to vote.

YES, a State ID card could be used for all of these things, BUT the State ID card isn't REQUIRED for any of them... others IDs can be used. In many cases, there are 20-somethings and even thirty-somethings still using their High School ID cards - which don't expire. (In the US, most kids graduate High School at either age 17 or 18, and those cards are free for students!) And those cards could be used to get other kinds of ID - food stamps, public housing, public transportation...

But, in Florida at least, those IDs CANNOT be used to get a State ID. For that, you must have 3 things:

• Proof of Identity
• Proof of Social Security
• Proof of residency

For ID, a certified copy of your Birth Certificate (not a hospital copy: a government-issued, certified copy - it costs $35-50 to get such a copy, depending on where you go), or a US Passport ($110 minimum fee), or several other forms - all of which cost significant sums to obtain....

For Social Security, you must have a paper copy of your Social Security card (that's free!),

Fro residency, this gets funny: consider this list from the perspective of a poor person, say living on your friend's couch looking for a job (and remember, you need TWO!):

• Deed, mortgage, monthly mortgage statement, mortgage payment booklet or residential rental/lease agreement; (all of my poor friends are property owners - most are confused by this requirement: do they need to bring just 1 property deed, or ALL of them?)
• Florida voter registration card (seems easy enough - until you look to that site and realize you need a Florida Gov't ID to register to vote - a complete Catch-22!)
• Florida vehicle registration or title (as with the mortgage requirement, my poor friends wonder how many of their many cars do they need to bring the registrations for? Oh, and to register your car in our county, you have to have a Florida ID.... another Catch-22)
• Utility bill (and specifically excluded? Cell Phone bills!)... because all the couch-surfers I know get the power and gas bills put into THEIR names!
• A utility hook up or work order dated within 60 days prior to the application - come on...
• Automobile payment booklet
• Selective service card - HEY! If you're a GUY, here's a FREE ID you can use! Except that the Federal Government stopped issuing Selective Service (Draft) cards in the 1990s... damn!
• Medical or health card with address listed (all my poor friends have FULL health insurance - from their non-existent employers... Oh, they could use their Medicaid card? - Oh, those don't have addresses on the cards... not acceptable
• Current homeowner insurance policy or bill - for all those properties you poor people own!
• Current automobile insurance policy or bill - for all those cars you poor people own
• Educational institution transcript forms for the current school year - ROFL - your school transcripts for the current year... which the schools require you to pay for, but until you've graduated, only for PRIOR years! DOH!
• Unexpired professional license issued by a government agency in the U.S. - I wonder if they issue PE (Professional Engineer) licenses to people with no Government ID? - No... another Catch-22.. you had to have the ID to get the license, and now you need the license to get the ID!
• W-2 form or 1099 form - from ALL your jobs! Because poor people get regular paychecks!
• Form DS2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor (J-1) status - Great! If you're a legal IMMIGRANT (not eligible to vote), we'll give you an easy one...
• A letter from a homeless shelter, transitional service provider or a half-way house verifying they receive mail for the customer. The letter must be accompanied by a Certification of Address form - Because Florida has "permanent" homeless shelters (they don't - they are all "transient" - you show up before a certain time (often mid-to-late afternoon), or you don't get in
• Mail from financial institutions including checking, savings or investment account statements - I wonder if my poor friend's 401k plan statements would suffice
• Mail from federal, state, county or city government agencies or FDLE registration form completed by local sheriff’s department... HA! Just get yourself arrested and you'll have the forms you need! Just be sure it's not a felony... felons can't vote in Florida!

See? We make is SO SIMPLE for EVERYONE to get a Government ID (well, everyone with a Job, a House, & a Car!)

Let's call a SPADE a SPADE: these requirements and the Catch-22 nature of many of the documents "allowed" are deliberate attempts to prevent poor people from getting Government IDs - least of which is the Voter ID card... Here in the American South, these are called Jim Crow Laws - and are targeted against minorities... but, of course, to legally target the minorities, they target the poor... and some whites get entrapped there too... but, come one, who cares! They're poor-white-trash living with other minorities! They aren't important... are they?

I repeat that the FIX is to make IDs FREE (and if you can show that you need another government-issued document IN ORDER to GET your ID, that should be FREE too!)

Funny story (in an ironic sort of way):

• I took my 15 y/o daughter into the local Tax Collector's office (where you get your Driver's Licenses and State IDs here)... they didn't like the copy of her birth certificate we had (the seal was worn)... so we had to walk over to a different counter, pony up $85 for another copy of her birth certificate, then go back and pay $110 for her ID (not even a DL! Just an ID!). They also gave me a hard time because her last name isn't my last name - but I was prepared: I had brought with me the certified adoption order from the court.
• The worker went to get a supervisor because they weren't going to accept THAT either, but I literally pulled out my cell phone and was calling the adoption judge - I was going to get a court order to issue her an ID! The judge was on the line with me and I was reading off the names of the workers I was dealing with, when the supervisor asked me who I was talking to... I said "Judge G***" and he said: "Please hang up - we'll issue the ID"

Now, while I may have had the wherewithal (and experience from so many prior foster and adopted children) to "get it done", put yourself in that position when you're poor (can't afford that $85 BC copy, much less the $110 fee for the ID to start with!), homeless (no mortgage, no utility bill, no car registration), and otherwise powerless...

The "system" needs to be fixed to allow poor people to get Government ID (appropriate for voting) AT NO COST....

I'm just spit-balling here, but I think the issue with the IDs is that some southern states charge a significant fee to get a Government ID (like a DL)...

Here in FLA, it can cost over $100 to get a "new" DL - you have to pay for the ID part, you have to pay separately for the written DL test, then you have to pay AGAIN for the driving test. Of course, you have to have a copy of your birth certificate with you... and if you don't have that, it can cost $50+ to get the "certified copy" you must have.

I agree with some who propose to "de-fang" the anti-ID folks by simply proposing that people on Food Stamps (or other government assistance) get their Government-Issued ID (ID card, DL, or whatever) FREE OF CHARGE!

I have no problem charging people who own cars to register, inspect, and otherwise "pay to play" to own a car... but an ID is a must-have, and to charge the poor to have it is to (in the case of Voter-ID) disenfranchise them... a legitimate complaint - but one that has an EASY fix! The problem I have with these "VAX Passports" as people are calling them is that the goalposts are changing - and they will continue to change!

We thought in April we were "coming out of this" and "getting back to normal"... then, lo and behold! Delta arrives and we're back into the sewage - deeper than before! The definition of "fully vaccinated" will always change over time... Thus, not really a "workable" system...

So, even it it falls under the realm of "public health" - which I can buy, MAYBE - but I'm no there yet... if you want to REQUIRE restaurants to become "vaccine cops", then you (Government) pay for the extra employees needed to enforce it!

IMHO: that makes 2 strikes against the NYC ordinance (sure to fail in court)...
But, like Biden's eviction moratorium, it'll take time to "defeat" in court - and until then, it's the "law of the land"...

I should point out though that I also think the FL and TX laws RESTRICTING people from requiring masks or vaccines is government overreach in the OTHER direction! If a cruise company wants to require everyone to get a FLU SHOT (much less a COVID one!) before coming on board, that's their right! If you don't want the shot, don't get on the boat! If there is sufficient demand for cruises without the shot requirement, then those will become available! You do not have a RIGHT to go on a cruise!

@justanedflan it looks like Qbittorrent is able to download that torrent without renaming the files first. I know from experience that Utorrent chokes on filenames like that. Even though it DOES work.. I still suggest renaming those files so that when you seed them, your seeds work with people who are using torrent clients that are not accomodating to "special characters"
I have suggested that GTRU should automatically replace "special characters" with normal ones.

So there is a basic problem with what you propose there:

• GT.ru is a tracker, not an originator, of content.
• GT.ru cannot change the content of uploads, except for the "metadata" (thus, they can change the tracker address, but not the folder name)
• Only the USER can change the folder and/or file names... but even so, only on their local end!

So the example above, where someone suggested changing the names on your end to help out others.... not so much: The filename on your end is the new/corrected/simpler filename, but the filename in the torrent remains the same as what the uploader provided.

One final comment: sometimes these special characters arise out of translations from a user's system having been set to, say Korean language... Then the torrents show the filenames in the character-set that is "normal" to your system.

Long story short: use your Torrent Client (qBitTorrent or uTorrent have been mentioned here) to change the filenames on your system so that you can use the files more easily locally, and yet STILL seed the torrent and maintain your ratio!
